EP496: Willingness19 Apr 202200:32:31

The most important emotional state for entrepreneurial achievement is not motivation, commitment, or dedication. It's willingness. When you cultivate within yourself a state of willingness, you are equipping yourself with the emotional juice required to transform at a deep level.

Willingness allows you to reinvent your future one project, one experience, and one result at a time. However, many of you aren't currently in that state of willingness, and this episode will help you change that.

Women entrepreneurs often have deep commitment to their goals, but that's not enough. Commitment is the silent pact you make within yourself, an internal decision to go for your dream. It matters, but willingness matters more.

You'll discover why this emotional state is so critical for entrepreneurial achievement and the tremendous impact it will have on your business. EP495: Fake Results Vs Real Results12 Apr 202200:22:03

As women entrepreneurs, we live and breathe in the results economy. We are not paid for the amount of time and effort that we put into a project. We are compensated based on the value that we create in the marketplace and the tangible results we create for other people. And when we put half-done work out into the world, we're not compensated at all.

Over here at Safi Media, we're all about creating tangible value for female founders. Now, what we've come to realize is that work that is in progress creates little to no value in the marketplace. Work that is done is what creates value for yourself and other people.

Because I and so many of my clients operate in this results economy, understanding the difference between fake results and real results is a massive gamechanger. We're not here to squander our hours of effort by putting work out half-finished. So this week, I'm discussing how to actually get things done so you see real results.

If you can align your efforts and intentions with real results, your level of success, your bottom line, and the impact you have will increase exponentially without burning out, and who doesn't want that? In today's episode, I'm breaking down the difference between fake results and real results, how to distinguish between the two in your business, and how to create real results for your business.

Today on the Power + Presence + Position Podcast:

  • Why, if you put half-done work into the world, you get fake results.
  • What fake results look like in your business and why they make us think we're being productive.
  • Why the only way to get real results is to put your completed work into the marketplace.
  • How we help our clients to bring done energy to their work, instead of spinning in perfectionism.
  • Why tolerating unclosed loops and unfinished work is sending the wrong messages to your team and your clients.
  • What you can do to move past your fake results and start creating completed work that yields real results in the marketplace

EP494: Emotional Resilience for Next Level Growth with Tina Lifford05 Apr 202200:49:25

About 18 months ago, I was having a conversation with a wise mentor of mine about the vision I had for my company and how I saw our position in the world. It was big, exciting, and I had confidence and trusted myself, but I kept butting up against a ceiling in terms of my own ability.

EP492: The Business Building Power of Being Non-Receptive22 Mar 202200:18:54

As women founders and entrepreneurs, we've been fed a lot of advice about the power of staying open-minded. We're told to stay open to external feedback, ways of doing things, and challenges that come our way. Being a good leader, we're told, means staying open.

I've spent the first part of my life, as I'm sure you have, honing my skills on openness. It's one of my core values, and the periods in my business and personal development where I've been completely open to ideas and stimulus from other people have served me extremely well.

But what I've discovered of late is that there is power in intentionally closing down and being non-receptive. The notion of closing down gets a bad rap, and while there's definitely a time and place for being open, purposefully choosing to be non-receptive is more valuable than you think, and I'm showing you why.

If you often find yourself overwhelmed or distracted to the point where you can't hear yourself think, or you identify as a sensitive person and you're ready to find a new way to protect your energy and creativity, learning the skill of being non-receptive is key. On this episode, I'm showing you what I've come to realize about the power of being non-receptive, and my top strategies for practicing this.

Today on the Power + Presence + Position Podcast:

  • How being open-minded can serve us well at the beginning of our business journey.
  • Why I believe the advice given to women about staying open is stupid 75% of the time.
  • What I've come to realize about the power of being non-receptive.
  • How I've learned to consciously hone my skill of being non-receptive.
  • Why giving ourselves permission to be non-receptive is so valuable.
  • My strategies for purposefully being non-receptive.

EP485: Behind the Scenes of My Work Week25 Jan 202200:30:06

Around the fall of last year, I started thinking more deeply about how I was using my time and if there were better ways to spend it. The kind of leader I wanted to be was one who could serve her mission, team, and community at the highest level, but my current calendar didn't reflect that.

To show up as the energized and connected leader I wanted to be, I needed to make some shifts to how I was spending and scheduling my time. I know so many of you are feeling drained, overwhelmed, or exhausted by your calendars, and I can totally relate.

EP473: How To Grow Your Wealth In Quantum Leaps with Michelle Bosch02 Nov 202100:58:07

I've been talking a lot on the podcast about feminine energy and the role it plays in wealth creation and business building. In this episode, Michelle and I talk about the power of shifting from a transactional mindset in business to a more transformational one. Have you ever noticed how most advice about growing a business is externally oriented? We go out to find new markets; we go out to get feedback. While I still stand with those strategies, I also think that looking outwards is only one part of the equation.

There is massive value to be found when you do the internal work to grow your business. My guest today has built her business by doing the opposite of what most business advice says and instead, took a deeply personal and internal approach. I find her journey so incredibly inspiring and fascinating, I just knew I needed to have her on the podcast to discuss it.

Bethany Webster is a feminist author and transformational coach who also happens to be a graduate of The Incubator. She's known around the world for her work on women's leadership and development, and her first book Discovering the Inner Mother, shows women entrepreneurs how their "mother wound" impacts their business and personal lives.

For the first episode in my Feminist Business Credo Series, hear my fabulously insightful conversation with Bethany Webster about how the mother wound within each of us affects our business journeys. Bethany shares her story of building a meaningful, rich business that feeds her creativity while also providing a financial fortress despite her challenging upbringing. We dive into some pretty deep topics like emotional safety and mother-daughter work, and I hope that this conversation will inspire you to consider the internal work you need to do to grow your business.

Today on the Power + Presence + Position Podcast:

  • How Bethany learned to lean into the internal places that feel scary.
  • Bethany's evolution as an entrepreneur, writer, and teacher.
  • What the mother wound is and its four levels.
  • How the mother wound manifests itself.
  • What happens when you start telling yourself the truth at the most basic level.
  • How shifting her internal reference point also shifted Bethany's relationship to goal setting.

EP469: Behind The Scenes of My Email Strategy05 Oct 202100:38:43

Your email list is one of the most lucrative assets you can build. It doesn't matter what industry you're in; it doesn't matter what you sell. The fortune is in your email list, also known as your database.

Data is a powerful currency in today's business climate. Many entrepreneurs (wrongly) believe that the key to garnering more data is by getting more names on their list. This might be what you've been trying to do for your business, but it's not the strategy I recommend, and today I will tell you why.

Adding more and more names to your email list will not help you scale your business. What truly helps you scale is the strength of your relationships with your email list. My colleagues and I have built an incredibly lucrative list full of women who open my emails every week, who tell me when they like or don't like what they read, and who want to hear about my juicy offers. And they are juicy.

In this episode, I'm sharing my 3 tips for growing a valuable, lucrative, and highly-qualified email list. You'll learn how to get rid of email list toxins or people who never open your emails, how to start building relationships with your readers, and the power of becoming an edutainer. I'm not sugarcoating anything this week, or ever, so get ready for a transparent, informative, and impactful look behind the scenes at my email strategy.

Today on the Power + Presence + Position Podcast:

  • What email deliverability is and why it matters.
  • How I get people to unsubscribe from my list.
  • Why transactions are not the same as relationships.
  • What edutainment is and how it sustains attention.
  • What happens when people read your emails consistently.
  • The core intention I want you to consider about your email list.

EP468: Problem Solving Part 2: How To Take Action Without Getting Depleted28 Sep 202100:25:47

So many of my entrepreneurial clients and colleagues are struggling with something that I have certainly struggled with in my career as well. Taking action without burning out. Our culture tells us to do, do, do constantly, but this leaves us feeling tired and depleted.

Last week, I shared how you can leverage the power of the scientific method to create a strong framework for making decisions more effectively as an entrepreneur. Today, in part two of this mini-series on problem solving, I'm showing you my four-step process for taking action without getting depleted.

It is possible for you to make forward momentum in your business and to hustle intelligently without using up your energy stores. You do not have to lead your team from a place of depletion.

Women entrepreneurs have been bro-influenced for far too long, being told that hustle culture is the best way to move your business forward. Re-Release: What Is a Jewel Business?14 Sep 202100:39:14

I want to share another replay this week on a model I've developed that is unlike any other: the Jewel Business Model. This model attempts to bring a harmonious answer to the question, what do we as women entrepreneurs really want?

Most business models leave something to be desired for women. They focus solely on profitability and economic growth, and leave out our desire to make an impact or create freedom in our schedules. Most balance sheets ignore a big part of what success means to us.

I love the Jewel Business Model because it's for ambitious women who want to create businesses that grow through assets, not the founder's hustle. It's about envisioning your entrepreneurial goals without getting perfectionistic about them. Entrepreneurs who use this model, like many of my clients, achieve total life success.

In this week's throwback episode, I lay out a very unique, effective, and all-encompassing model for women entrepreneurs to use in their businesses. If you want more cash, autonomy, and influence, you need the tools found in the Jewel Business Model. I share what a jewel business is, what it is not, and how women are championing the conversation around total life success with this model.

Today on the Power + Presence + Position Podcast:

  • What I learned from thousands of interviews and consults with women entrepreneurs.
  • What total life success is and why women want it.
  • Why I think it's degrading to be labeled a "lifestyle business."
  • What a jewel business is and why this model is so compelling to women entrepreneurs.
  • The differences between a star business and a jewel business.
  • How impossible goals can be a disservice to your business.

Re-Release: Disqualify Selling07 Sep 202100:30:24

Today, I'm re-releasing an episode that explores disqualify selling. Disqualification is all about drawing clear boundaries around who your brand, company, and offerings are not for. When you do it right, you can catapult your brand to cult status, grow your revenue to heights you've never seen, and make the process of closing sales much more elegant and refined.

At its core, the power of disqualification is the energy of saying no. This complex business tactic requires you to clearly state to your marketplace not only who you are for but also who you are not serving. It is up to you to define your niche market and to make them your focal point.

Using this method isn't just a matter of implementing it into your business processes. It's a mindset change. The disqualification method requires you to have an abundance mindset since it, theoretically, restricts your audience. By taking this action, you cultivate immense loyalty from your people.

I invite you to really consider who you're spending your marketing dollars focusing on and if those are the people you truly want to serve. Find out how disqualify selling works, why you need to consider it, and how to start implementing it in your business today. If you're serious about refining your niche and growing your revenue, then this is a method you have to check out.

Today on the Power + Presence + Position Podcast:

  • What disqualify selling is.
  • The ways you can use disqualification selling.
  • How disqualification increases sales and revenue.
  • How customer mentality changes when you exclude instead of making a product "for everyone."
  • How to implement disqualify selling.
  • Why it is useful for people to self-deselect before they ever reach out to you.
  • How to get rid of pricing objections using disqualification selling.

EP462: Declutter Your Business And Apply 7 Figure Constraint27 Jul 202100:42:33

If you're like me, you've enjoyed watching the NBA playoffs this summer and admiring the incredible athletic feats of the players. One thing I've noticed is that their amazing feats would not be possible without the game's constraints: two nets, 10 players, 48 minutes of gameplay.

It is inside those constraints that the magic happens, and it's the same for your business. Without constraint, chaos ensues. Applying constraints is a fundamental step in allowing other things you care about to flourish, like your cash, influence, and autonomy.

So, if you want to scale your business and make more money with less overwhelm, then I invite you to consider applying more constraint. Constraint means making decisions, cutting off some options, in order to allow others to thrive. It's about eliminating costly distractions.

In this episode, I'm diving deep into the different types of constraints you can apply to your life and business to allow for more fun, ease, and CIA. You'll learn three ways to bring greater 7-figure constraint to your company so you can scale with more focus and success. I'm sharing my approaches to applying constraint and why I know this strategy will be amazing for your business and personal life.

Today on the Power + Presence + Position Podcast:

Re-Release: The 7 Figure Service Business Ecosystem Part 1: What is PPAM?20 Jul 202100:21:42

Before I had this coaching business, I had a very successful consulting business for over 10 years. It was great, but I eventually reached a point where I needed to shift mindsets, to stop doing the work, and start building an ecosystem.

So many women CEOs are at the same spot I was before I made the change. You know that if you get sick or don't show up, your business doesn't make money. You have no CIA (cash, influence, and autonomy) and you're spending 25 hours a week just delivering on what you sold.

Today, I'm re-introducing you to the business structure we recommend in our business accelerator, PPAM. If you want to have more open time, more CIA, and you want to make a bigger impact, then PPAM is the way to go. Using this model will help you achieve 7 figure status with more time for everything.

In today's episode, I'm sharing part one of a two-part series about the PPAM model - what it is, how it works, and why it's so dang effective. This is the heart of what we teach in the business accelerator, so I know giving you this behind-the-scenes peak is going to be super helpful. You'll learn why you need to create an ecosystem, how PPAM delivers CIA, and how you can lay the foundation for this structure today.

Re-Release: Growth Versus Scaling and Why It Matters06 Jul 202100:29:10

Contrary to popular belief, growing a business is not the be-all-end-all it's cracked up to be. Now, scaling a business, that's a whole other story. Growth and scale are not the same thing, and using them interchangeably only creates stress and confusion.

On a basic level, scaling sets you free and growth creates more problems. I don't know what your mission here on earth is, but I know you have one. And I know it isn't to make more revenue so you can have more headaches. But that's what focusing on growth will get you.

When I work with women entrepreneurs, the one thing we all have in common is a greater mission. Money is great, but we're here for more. You're here to scale so that you can make a greater impact, change lives, change your industry, and direct your abundance into causes you care about.

Today on the podcast, I'm diving into why we've got to stop using "scale" and "growth" interchangeably and how to decide which one you've been working towards. I'm sharing the 3 principles of scale so you can get more cash, more influence, and more autonomy, while also fulfilling your mission. I'm telling you exactly how to stop overworking yourself, simplify your systems, and scale with confidence.

Today on the Power + Presence + Position Podcast:

  • Why it drives me crazy when people use these terms interchangeably.
  • The differences between scale and growth.
  • The 3 things that every female entrepreneur I've ever met has wanted.
  • What traditional growth models are about and why they need to evolve.
  • The 3 principles of scale.
  • Why scale gets you closer to fulfilling your mission than growth does.

Re-Release: Zone of Genius Discipline29 Jun 202100:13:34

We received an unprecedented number of emails and messages about episode 421, my conversation with Barbara Huson, about getting wired for wealth. So many of you were thanking us for that conversation and sharing your thoughts on aiming for wealth instead of riches.

One of the things that really stood out to me in that interview was Barbara's dedication to her focus, to her zone of genius. She has spent three decades working with women on rewiring their mindsets for wealth. We talk a lot about niching down and nailing your message here, and to say she is an expert would be an understatement.

I know so many of you were inspired by Barbara to achieve wealth in your own businesses. If that's you, it's time to stop dickering around doing all the things, serving all the people, and start focusing on just one thing. It's time to have zone of genius discipline.

In today's episode, I'm unpacking what it means to have zone of genius discipline and showing how Barbara's body of work is a perfect example of the success that comes with specializing. There's a tremendous temptation to be a generalist these days, but I invite you to imagine what your life would be like if you had the courage to dive deeper, niche down, and sink further into your zone of genius.

Today on the Power + Presence + Position Podcast:

  • How Barbara is making a massive impact by focusing on her zone of genius.
  • Why it takes courage to let other things go so you can focus on your zone.
  • The success you can have when you niche down consistently over time.
  • Why becoming a generalist waters down your brand and power.
