In this episode of Who Are You (Wearing?), Alice Cruickshank is joined by comedian, writer and podcaster Amy Matthews. A favourite on the Edinburgh comedy circuit, Amy's previous show I Feel Like I'm Made of Spiders was adapted into a special for ITVX, and she has also appeared on Scot Squad.

Using fashion as a starting point, Amy reflects on personal style, growing confidence in your own taste, and why not every outfit—or every joke—needs to be understood by everyone.

The conversation explores Amy's new Edinburgh Fringe show, Definitions of Toast, including the story behind its unusual title and why she wasn't ACTUALLY on fire for the show's promotional artwork... this time!

Along the way, Amy and Alice dive into millennial fashion nostalgia, from Tesco Cherokee children's clothing and the questionable era of "officewear chic" on nights out, to the joy of borrowing clothes from friends and experimenting with style before everything became quite so curated.

What does it take to find your purpose before you've even left school?

In this episode of Who Are You (Wearing?), Alice Cruickshank is joined by Cherry West, Scotland's youngest drag queen. Cherry began performing in drag at just 13 years old and has since built a career that has taken her across Scotland and beyond, while also becoming one of the breakout stars of the BBC series The Agency: Unfiltered.

Using fashion as a starting point, Cherry reflects on the realities of life as a drag performer, including the pressure not to outfit repeat, the cost of keeping up appearances, and why delivering a memorable performance will always matter more than what you're wearing.

In this episode of Who Are You (Wearing?), Alice Cruickshank is joined by actor, writer, comedian and broadcaster Sanjeev Kohli. Best known for playing the iconic Naveed in Still Game, Sanjeev reflects on the moments, memories and characters that have shaped both his career and his personal style.

The conversation begins with an unexpected fashion confession: the cardigan Sanjeev wore to the recording turned out to feature the unmistakable carpet pattern from The Shining... and a fashion ghoul complimented him on it!

From there, they explore his relationship with clothes, from growing up as the only brown child in his part of Glasgow and trying to blend in, to embracing a bolder sense of style that reflects who he is today.

Sanjeev shares behind-the-scenes stories from Still Game, including how his portrayal of Naveed was inspired by his own father and what it felt like being transformed into an older version of himself. He also discusses the subtle ways costume shapes character and continues to influence his own wardrobe, from rocking tiny glasses in Dinosaur to why the wardrobe for his role in the new series of Department Q is among his favourite ever.

In the final episode of our month of Edinburgh Fringe specials, Alice Cruickshank is joined by Scotland's pop-punk comedian Hannah Morton for a nostalgic trip back to the millennial alternative scene.

Hannah and Alice revisit the world of "elder emo" culture, from Twilight and Paramore to the enduring influence of Hayley Williams.

They also take a look back at some of the era's most questionable style choices, from emo fashion to indie sleaze, including the divisive mullet dress. Along the way, they bond over their shared love of winged eyeliner and the commitment required to maintain seriously bright ginger hair.

In this episode of Who Are You (Wearing?), Alice Cruickshank is joined by character actor, comedian and creator Selina Mosinski, best known for bringing the unforgettable Charity Shop Sue to life.

Selina takes us behind the look that made Sue an internet sensation, including the story behind her famous hair and how much of Sue's wardrobe came from Selina's own clothes. She also talks about the process of building a character through costume, personality and attitude, before revealing how different her own style is these days.

The conversation moves from Charity Shop Sue to Selina's love of minimal, structural, Asian-inspired fashion, as well as some of her favourite vintage looks and why Bananarama remain a style inspiration.

Selina is currently bringing her new Edinburgh Fringe show, Puss in Boots: A Working Class Fairytale, to the stage. In this episode of Who Are You (Wearing?), Alice Cruickshank is joined by comedian, author and BAFTA-nominated actor Rosie Jones. Known for Taskmaster, The Last Leg, Live at the Apollo, Out of Order and Pushers, Rosie is also the proud owner of around 50 jumpsuits (and counting!)

Can the clothes we wore growing up tell the story of who we became?

In this episode of Who Are You (Wearing?), Alice Cruickshank is joined by actor Darren Brownlie, best known for playing Mikey Duffy in River City and as a familiar face in Glasgow's King's Theatre, Glasgow pantomime.

Darren is now starring in Crocodile Rock at the Edinburgh Fringe: a moving and entertaining one-man play with music exploring what it was like growing up gay on a Scottish island in the 1990s before having life changed forever by a visiting drag queen.

Using fashion as a starting point, Darren and Alice take a nostalgic trip through 90s and 00s style, debating the worst shoes ever made, reminiscing about school fashion trends and revisiting the nicknames Darren collected over the years, from "Darren Broon-shoes" at school to "DD" (Double Denim) today.

They then dive into Scottish soap River City, and changing times now the show has been cancelled. Darren shares the story of how he landed the role of Mikey Duffy, and how as an actor the character and your sense of self are always linked.

The conversation then turns to Crocodile Rock and the deeply personal experiences that helped shape the production, from Darren as well as the writer Andy McGregor. Darren reflects on growing up gay in Paisley during the era of Section 28, how those memories influenced the play, and why he believes optimism has carried him through every stage of his life and career.
