Travel safety is not something we immediately think about when we are planning a trip to Europe.
But staying safe as you travel is essential.
And there are things you can do to ensure you are safe as you travel through Europe.
Carrie Pasquarello is the CEO & Co-Founder of Global Secure Resources Inc, a company that focuses on helping travelers and students studying abroad with travel safety.
She has lived abroad and, because of her unique background, has so much knowledge which leads to amazing tips to keep you safe as travel to Europe
We talk about everything from actual products you may want to pack for travel safety to travel insurance.

These are the words I'd use to describe this amazing county in the far Northwestern part of Ireland.
The locals proclaim, "It's different up here!" And it is.
This is what makes this county so appealing to the adventurous traveler. You wont' be rubbing elbows with too many other travelers, but you will get to know the incredibly friendly and fiercely proud locals.
Want to lay your eyes upon some of the most stunning coastline in all of Ireland? Maybe you want to tour an incredible lakeside castle? Perhaps you want to walk on some gorgeous beaches? Or commune with the ancient spirits at a stone circle? How about some fun pub time?
County Donegal has all of this and more. But without the hoards of tourists.
While it may take a bit more effort to get here, once you do, you'll wonder why you didn't come here sooner!
How would you like to see an incredible Spanish Basilica, hike along gorgeous mountain trails, eat some delicious tapas and drink some tasty Spanish wine — all without the crowds?
Then look no further than the region of Aragon in Spain.
My good friend, Meg Zirger, has been living in this region for 10 years and she loves it!
She is going to give us some good tips on where to go, what to see and what to experience in this northeastern part of Spain that has so many hidden treasures to explore.
From the regional capital of Zaragoza with its jaw dropping Basilica and vibrant tapas bar scene to the Pyrenees mountains of Ordesa and Monte Perdido National Park to the Mudejar architecture and beautiful villages of the Teruel province, the Aragon region has something for everyone.
And this region does not see the number of visitors as other hot spots in Spain such as Barcelona, Madrid, San Sebastian or the Costa del Sol.
So you get to a more authentic and true Spanish experience and that chance to connect with the locals who, Meg claims, are some of the nicest Spanish people in all of Spain.

In fact there are so many castles that you may not be sure which ones are worth visiting and which ones are not.
My personal opinion is Blair Castle is worthy of some time.
This lovely castle is located in the village of Blair Atholl and sits just within Cairngorms National Park.
There is a lot of intriguing history — including some Queen Victoria stories, beautiful pieces of furniture and gorgeous plaster ceilings that wowed me.
Plus it has a magnificent garden that you'll want to wander through.

Kenmare is one of the my favorite towns in Ireland.
In fact, it may be my absolute favorite.
Located in County Kerry, Kenmare is colorful, vibrant and in a central location for exploring this piece of Ireland.
It has great pubs — some of which have tasty food, a nice array of accommodation and incredibly friendly locals.
Add in the ability to explore Killarney National Park, the Ring of Kerry, the Beara Peninsula and even some parts of County Cork and you have the perfect Irish town.

The Fife Coastal Path gives you the opportunity to enjoy the seascape of Fife.
And if you want to hike up some hills, then you'll love the Lomond Hills.

Often overlooked by its more famous neighbor, the region of Umbria in Italy has a lot of the same treats as Tuscany.
But with fewer crowds.
Small towns with cobblestoned lanes.
Rolling green hills dotted with vineyards.
Delicious food and world class wine.
Gorgeous churches with incredible art and architecture.
Plus Umbria is a bit more mountainous so the scenery can be a bit more dramatic.
So if you're looking for a destination in Italy that is a bit different yet feels familiar, put Umbria on your list!

Do you have a travel bucket list?
Maybe you have a specific Europe travel bucket list?
I always have a list.
In fact, in February of 2023 I put out an episode about this very topic.
But things change.
So I think it's a good idea to revisit your Europe travel bucket list each year.
Maybe you actually were able to cross some places off your list.
Perhaps you've added some new destinations (of course you did!).
Maybe you've shuffled some spots around as certain places have become more of a priority.
Now I get it that some people don't like the idea of a "bucket list".
So maybe a better term is a "wish list".
Whatever you call it, I truly believe in dreaming big when it comes to travel.
You can make your travel dreams come true (and I can help)!
Stirling Castle is a well known castle not far Edinburgh and Glasgow.
It's definitely on the tourist trail with good reason as it's an incredible site with lots of history.
And it was a very important castle in its heyday.
Nearby Doune Castle is less important.
Yet it still has some intriguing history.
And it has ties to a cult movie favorite — Monty Python's Holy Grail.
So if you like castles, of all sorts, then tune into this episode to learn more about these 2 amazing — yet very different — castles in central Scotland.
Most people who travel to Scotland don't typically head south of Edinburgh into the Scottish Borders.
But I'm thinking maybe this needs to change.
There are a lot of fabulous places to visit in this part of Scotland — pastoral landscapes with easy walks, charming towns and villages, beautiful rivers and stunning abbeys and stately homes.

The Alpe di Siusi — Seiser Alm in German — is a destination I've talked about before.
It's this incredible high alpine meadow in the Sudtirol province of northern Italy.
In this episode, I'm going to offer up some updates on this amazing destination as well as make a case for why you should stay a couple of nights in the Alpe di Siusi.
Because you can actually spend the night — or 2 or 3 — in this gorgeous piece of Italy.
And by spending the night you get to see the sun rise and set across some beautiful peaks and you may be able to tackle some of those tougher or longer trails.
It's really a very special and unique place to spend a few nights.
