Tucked away near the small village of Sihoniya, 65 km north of Gwalior in Madhya Pradesh, the now partially ruined Kakanmath Temple dominates the surrounding flat countryside. And yet for all that imposing stature, this temple is one that will leave you wondering just how it’s possible to be still standing. This 11th-century marvel, built under the patronage of Kachchhapaghata ruler Kirttiraja, has recently piqued the interest of archaeologists and historians alike. Its towering spire, which pierces the vast sky, whispers stories of a time when artistry was an act of devotion and architecture, a dialogue with eternity. The temple’s name, intriguingly, has layers of local lore attached. Some believe it to be named after Queen Kakanavati, the monarch’s consort, while others see it as a tribute to a bygone deity whose spirit lingers in the very stones of this sanctuary. Its origin, shrouded in mystery, fuels speculation—was it a temple for Shiva, a shrine that once echoed with the resonant chants of Vedic hymns, or perhaps an architectural statement of piety and power? Despite the ravages of time and nature, the sheer symmetry of the structure is spellbinding.Massive stone blocks, some weighing several tons, were ingeniously stacked without the use of mortar, defying gravity and logic. This has led to whispers of divine intervention or advanced techniques lost to history. The source of the name Kakanmath is thought to be derived from kanak (meaning ‘gold’) and matha (meaning ‘shrine’), although there is a local legend that says the temple was named after Kakanavati or Kakanade, queen of Surajpala.Standing 120 feet tall and clearly once heavily decorated, this temple is considered very similar to many of the temples that can be seen at Khajuraho. Many of the carvings are similar to those that can be seen at Khajuraho as well.Earthquakes and further damage from invaders has taken its toll on Kakanmath, the area surrounding the temple platform is littered with carved masonry from this and those subsidiary shrines. It’s one giant jigsaw puzzle that perhaps one day will be attempted by someone.Among the temple’s fascinating relics are two magnificent lion statues that once graced its entrance. Today, these statues reside at the entrance of the Archaeological Museum in Gwalior, joining numerous other sculptures that have found their way to this repository of India’s artistic heritage.#VoiceofMaheedhar #MPlanetLeaf #MaheedharsPlanetLeaf #Hinduism #Sanatanadharmam #Bhakti #History #RealFacts #Maheedhar #Facts #Mysteries #historical #trending #bharatavarsha #unknownfacts #ancientscience

Some astonishing facts about Hell punishments across different religions include: Variety of Torments: Different levels of Hell may exist with unique punishments based on the nature of one's sins, including being forced to relive painful memories, being tormented by demons, or enduring physical pain from extreme heat or cold. Eternal Nature: Most religious interpretations view Hell as a place of eternal punishment, meaning once someone enters Hell, they will never escape. Personalized Suffering: Some traditions suggest that the punishments in Hell are tailored to the individual's sins, meaning someone who committed acts of cruelty might be tormented by experiencing similar cruelty themselves. Symbolic Interpretations: Some scholars argue that the descriptions of Hell's punishments are symbolic, representing the ultimate consequences of evil actions rather than literal depictions of physical torture. Specific examples of Hell punishments across religions: Hinduism: The concept of "Narakam" refers to various hells where individuals are punished based on their karma, with tortures like being crushed by boulders or pierced by sharp objects. Christianity: The primary punishment is often described as eternal separation from God, with imagery of fire and brimstone as symbolic representations of suffering. Islam: Hell is referred to as "Jahannam" and is depicted as a place of extreme heat, with punishments including being fed thorny plants and drinking boiling water. Important Points to Consider: Religious Diversity: The concept of Hell and its punishments vary greatly across different religious traditions and interpretations, so it's important to be respectful of diverse perspectives. Personal Beliefs: Many people believe that the focus should be on living a moral life to avoid the potential consequences of Hell, rather than dwelling on the specifics of its punishments. #VoiceofMaheedhar #MPlanetLeaf #MaheedharsPlanetLeaf #Hinduism #Sanatanadharmam #Bhakti #History #RealFacts #Maheedhar #sikshalu #Facts #Mysteries #hell #naraka #narakam #punishments #historical #Telugu #bharatavarsha #unknownfacts #ancientscience #karma #garudapurana #garudapuranam #kathopanishad #yama

There are several references to time dilation in the Vedic literature. Relativity is only one of the examples of the scientific knowledge enshrined in these revealed scriptures. The entire spectrum of the Vedic literature like Bhagavad Gita, Shrimad Bhagavatam, Upanishads and the Puranas are full of scientific and technical knowledge. The work of scientists will become easier if they also study the Vedic scriptures alongside their research. Modern science has to travel a lot more to arrive at the conclusions as well as the facts already covered in the Vedic scriptures. The concept of relativity from the eyes of the Vedic scriptures such as Bhagwat Gita and Shrimad Bhagavatam. This concept, which revolutionized the modern physics in the twentieth century, had already been the part of the Vedic literature, which date back to time immemorial. In this paper, the major instances of time dilation enshrined in Bhagwat Gita and Shrimad Bhagavatam are presented. The Vedic scriptures also contain explanation about the origin of the Universe as well as why it is expanding. Modern science can find answers to numerous unsolved puzzles through a study of the ancient Vedic scriptures with a scientific temperament. In modern science, the concept of relativity made its appearance in 1905, when Albert Einstein, then 26 years old, published his theory of special relativity. However, in Vedic literatures, which date back to time immemorial, the concepts of relativity find mention and detailed explanations at several places. This paper makes an effort to point out those facts. The revealed Vedic scriptures carry information which have only been recently confirmed by the modern science. A number of facts covered in these literatures are yet to be confirmed by modern science since they are beyond its the state of the art. In scientific perspective, "karma" is often interpreted as a metaphor for the inherent principle of cause and effect, where every action has a consequence, aligning closely with the idea that our actions, whether positive or negative, can influence the outcomes we experience later in life, similar to Newton's Third Law of Motion stating "for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction." Science firmly establishes that every action has a reaction, meaning our choices and behaviors have consequences that ripple through our lives and the environment. The concept of karma can also be seen in social dynamics, where our actions towards others can influence how they treat us in return, creating a cycle of positive or negative interactions. #VoiceofMaheedhar #MPlanetLeaf #Sanatanadharmam #History #RealFacts #Maheedhar #Facts #Mysteries #historical #bharatavarsha #ancientscience #karma #relativity

Key points about the "soul entering the womb": Different perspectives: Religious and philosophical views differ on when this "ensoulment" happens, with some believing it occurs at conception, while others may say it happens at a later stage like when the fetus develops a heartbeat or brain activity, or even at the first breath after birth. Spiritual significance: This concept is often associated with the idea that a soul is a spiritual essence that gives life to a physical body, and the moment of its entry signifies the beginning of a human life. Ethical implications: Debates around abortion often center around the question of when a fetus acquires a soul, as some believe that ensoulment at conception makes abortion morally wrong. The day the earth stood still. It was an afternoon as the bright big sun was shining through the leaves in the forest. The sky was clear and the hour was serene. Mother Nature became abnormally quiet and silent. There was no chirping of the birds. Butterflies were behaving erratically. The galactic movement of planets and stars showed that they were getting ready for the transmigration of a great era. There was no breeze of wind. The place was the forest on the banks of the river Hiran in Prabhas Patan theertham (the junction point where the Gomati River joins the sea). He decided that it was time for the pay off the Karma to take effect and so he sat down to meditate while exposing his left foot. He knew what was going to happen. For, he was Shri Krishna Vasudeva, the resplendent one, the one who lacked nothing, the one who gave magnificently. Yes, he was Sri Krishna, the Yaduvanshi prince (no, he refused to become the King) of the island nation of Dwarka. It was 36 years after the culmination of the great war of Mahabharata. He called up on his childhood friend Uddhava and told him the below.. These were the great lord’s last message on earth. Watch the video to know what he said.. His death marked the end of Dwapar Yuga (Era). The period after his disappearance has great significance in the history of the earth – it marks the first day of Kali Yug. -Incidentally, Krishna was born on 19 July 3228 BCE – the day we call Janmashtami (birth of Krishna), which was also the eighth day of the second half of the Hindu calendar month of Shravan. When adjusting with the current English Calendar, the Janmashtami date differs. India never had a unified calendar system. Much more is explained in Telugu in our above video. It's one of the three classical spiritual paths mentioned in the Bhagavad Gita, along with Jnana yoga and Bhakti yoga. Here are some key aspects of Karma yoga: Action without attachment: Karma yoga is a path of action without attachment to the outcome. The result of an action might be good or bad, but that shouldn't be a concern. Selfless service: Karma yoga is a path of dedicated work and selfless service. Renouncing results: Karma yoga involves renouncing the results of actions as a spiritual offering. Purifying the mind: Karma yoga can purify the mind and lead to spiritual liberation. The Rig Veda is a Vedic text that describes the mythological creation of the world and the sacrifice of the first human, a giant named Purusha. The texts state that Purusha was separated into four parts by the gods. These four parts became the four varnas of people in Aryan society. Purusha’s mouth became the Brahmins, his arms became the Kshatriyas, his legs became the Vaishyas, and his feet became the Shudras. The highest varna in society were the Brahmins, which included priests, scholars, judges, teachers, and landowners. The Brahmins were believed to understand the Dharma, or spiritual laws that governed the universe. Many Brahmins lived in the temples apart from the rest of society. The next varna included the Kshatriya who were the rulers and warriors. They made everyday decisions and ran the government. The third varna was made up of peasants, farmers and traders called Vaishyas. Sometimes Vaishyas held some leadership positions in smaller villages. The last varna was made up of laborers and known as Shudras. They mostly worked on farms owned by wealthier people in their community. In addition to the varna system, there were also groups known as Jāti. A Jāti is a like a tribe or community, typically associated with an occupation or geography. This usually provided an identity but also allowed for change. However, one's Jāti was usually the community within which one married and spent most of one's personal life. Over time, the varna and Jāti system, which both focused more on jobs and the functions of society, developed into a "caste system" that emphasized heredity and distinct classes. Ruling elites during the Mughal Empire, and especially the British Raj, created a strict caste system to administer society. The Caste System turned into an important aspect of life in India. People were born into their caste and remained there for life. Their caste membership determined the work they did, the man or woman they could marry, and the people with whom they could dine. Cleanliness and purity were also regarded as very important. Those considered the most impure because of their work as butchers, gravediggers, and collectors of trash lived outside the caste structure. These people, known as “Dalit” had few rights and could not move up or marry out of their caste. #VoiceofMaheedhar #MPlanetLeaf #MaheedharsPlanetLeaf #Hinduism #Hindu #Sanatanadharmam #Bhakti #History #RealFacts #Maheedhar #Mahidhar #Facts #Mysteries #historical #Telugu #bharatavarsha #unknownfacts #ancientscience

The only evidence for the Ramayana occurring in the Treta Yuga is Valmiki’s Ramayana. However, experts emphasize that clarifying the location of Ravana’s Lanka requires understanding historical, geographical, and astronomical changes. The Ramayana is a pivotal episode in India’s history and an ideal epic for humanity. Valmiki’s Ramayana not only details the lives of Rama, Sita, and other characters but also describes the geographical and socio-political conditions of that era. Modern serials and movies mislead people into thinking only Hanuman, Jambavan, and Angada were sent to search for Sita. However, Valmiki’s Kishkindha Kanda states that Sugriva prepared four search parties, each led by powerful commanders. At that time, these commanders were stronger than Hanuman, as he was yet to realize his full potential. This isn’t to belittle Hanuman but to reflect the circumstances of that period. Sugriva instructed each party about the challenges, geographical features, and people they might encounter. Hanuman’s party was sent southward, covering regions like Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu. Eventually, they reached Mahendragiri Mountain, beyond which lay the vast ocean. Lanka, ruled by Ravana, was described as a 100-yojana-wide (1,280 km) island in the ocean. However, today’s Sri Lanka is only 50–60 km wide and 30 km from India. Thus, Hanuman’s Lanka cannot be modern Sri Lanka. Another evidence is Sri Lanka’s historical name. Ancient records refer to it as Sinhala, not Lanka. The name Sri Lanka emerged in 1972. Earlier, during British rule, it was called Ceylon. Sanskrit texts use Lanka to mean "island." For example, Telugu regions have islands named Bobbarlanka and Pichukalanka. The term was adopted by Sri Lanka in 1950, but Valmiki’s Lanka was much larger. Thirdly, ancient Indian astronomy mentions the Prime Meridian passing through Ujjain and Kurukshetra. Valmiki’s Lanka was aligned with this meridian, unlike Sri Lanka. Experts suggest Ravana’s Lanka might have been near the Maldives, now submerged. Geological changes, volcanic eruptions, or tectonic shifts could have destroyed it. Some historians speculate Ravana’s Lanka was part of Kumari Kandam, a lost continent mentioned in Tamil texts like Manimekalai and Silappathikaram. Around 25,000 years ago, Kumari Kandam sank, possibly leaving remnants like Lanka. However, more research is needed. What about Ram Setu? Valmiki’s Ramayana states that Rama destroyed the original Ram Setu post-war to prevent demons from returning. The current "Ram Setu" near Dhanushkodi was built later by Vibhishana, Ravana’s brother, as a memorial. Historical records, including Sikh texts, mention Guru Nanak walking on Ram Setu to Sri Lanka in 1511. However, cyclones eroded it, and the 1964 cyclone destroyed Dhanushkodi entirely.

It's just a question of time. There will always be death, and some individuals will pass away more quickly than others. The Ruler of the Universe is not exempt from the rules of Karma, which is another crucial point that is eloquently highlighted in this tale. No matter how strong or important they are, nobody can avoid dying. Yadava clan that was instructed by Krishna to offer prayers at the revered Prabhas sea had started killing each other. Instead of worshipping, the Yadavas began to drink and have fun. They lost their minds and started fighting with each other. They killed one another with the help of the Eraka grass blades. As soon as Krishna learned of the situation, he sent Arjuna to transport the Yadava survivors to Hastinapur. He departed towards the jungle, aware of his impending demise. Under a tree, Krishna reclined and entered Yoga Samadhi. At that time, a hunter by the name of Jara visited that forest and mistook Krishna's moving foot for a deer that was hiding. He then released a deadly arrow that struck Krishna in the feet. The hunter realised his error as soon as he arrived at Krishna and begged the lord for forgiveness. He was comforted by Lord Krishna, who also explained that his death was unavoidable. According to Krishna, in his past life as Rama in the Treta Yuga, Rama ambushed and killed Vali who was Sugriva's brother. He has now paid the price for that through Jara, who in a prior life was king Vaali. The Ruler of the Universe is not exempt from the laws of Karma, as this story so beautifully illustrates. Hence, Lord Krishna left the mortal world. The beginning of the Kaliyuga is regarded as the moment when Lord Krishna passed away. Much more is explained in Telugu in our above video. Here are some things to know about death in Hinduism: Reincarnation Hindus believe in samsara, the cycle of life, death, and reincarnation, until liberation (moksha) is achieved. When someone dies, their atman (soul) is reborn in a different body. Some believe that the atman may enter swarg (heaven) or narak (hell) for a period before rebirth. Karma According to the laws of karma and reincarnation, some say that people who die early may have worked out much of their karma in past lives. Death practices Death practices in Hinduism vary by region and sect and reflect popular beliefs and fears. Funeral prayers At Hindu funerals, instead of saying "rest in peace," people chant "Om shanti om" three times. Much more is explained in Telugu in our above video. The Buddha has been among the formative forces in the origins of Hinduism. Regional Hindu texts over the centuries have presented a spectrum of views on Buddhism, possibly reflecting the competition between Buddhism and the Brahmanical traditions. In contemporary Hinduism, the Buddha is revered by Hindus who usually consider "Buddhism to be another form of Hinduism". Other Hindus reject the identification of Gautama Buddha as an avatar of Vishnu, referring to the texts of the Puranas and identifying the two as different individuals. The Buddha was integrated into Vaishnavism through its mythology in the Vaishnava Puranas, where the Buddha is considered as the ninth avatar of Vishnu. According to the Agni Purana, Vishnu assumed this incarnation on earth due to the daityas defeating the devas in their battles. In order to restore the natural order, he deluded the asuras with his teachings. This caused them to abandon the path established by the Vedas and convert to Buddhism, causing them to be devoid of dharma. This caused them to become dasyus at the end of the Kali Yuga, causing them to be cast off to hell, devoid of good conduct. Furthermore, it causes the age to be characterised by the intermixture of the varnas and domination by the Mlecchas, barbarian and foreign forces. Subsequently, according to tradition, it became the responsibility of Adi Shankaracharya and future Vaishnava acharyas to re-establish theism. The adoption of the Buddha in texts relating to Hindu gods, and of Hindu gods in Buddhist texts, is difficult to place chronologically. According to Doniger, the myth of the Buddha avatar first appeared in the pre-Gupta period, when orthodox Brahminism was threatened by the rise of Buddhism and Jainism, and by foreign invaders. According to Doniger, "Hindus came to regard the Buddha as an avatar of Vishnu between A.D. 450 and the sixth century," first appearing in the Vishnu Purana (400-500 CE). According to John Holt, "The replacement of the Buddha as the "cosmic person" within the mythic ideology of Indian kingship occurred at about the same time the Buddha was incorporated and subordinated within the Brahmanical cult of Vishnu." The Buddha is mentioned as an avatar of Vishnu in the Puranas and the epics such as: Harivamsa (1.41) Vishnu Purana (3.18) Bhagavata Purana (1.3.24, 2.7.37, 11.4.22) Garuda Purana (1.1, 2.30.37, 3.15.26) Agni Purana (16, 49.8) Naradiya Purana (2.72) Linga Purana (1.71) Padma Purana (3.252) Another important scripture that mentions him as an avatar is Parashara's Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra (2:1-5/7)

In Chapter 2, Krishna explains in a rational, simple and clearly understandable way how the soul travels from body to body. This fact is not a question of belief but is relatively easy to understand and to accept with logical conclusions. The prerequisite for this understanding of reincarnation is that one understands the difference between the body and the soul. "That which pervades the entire body you should know to be indestructible. No one is able to destroy that imperishable soul. " (Bhagavad Gita 2.17) "For the soul there is neither birth nor death at any time. He has not come into being, does not come into being, and will not come into being. He is unborn, eternal, ever-existing and primeval. He is not slain when the body is slain." (BGita 2.20) "The soul can never be cut to pieces by any weapon, nor burned by fire, nor moistened by water, nor withered by the wind.(BG 2.23) Thus, the soul and the body are two different things. The body is temporary and the soul is eternal. Although the nature of the soul is beyond the scope of measurable material interactions, one can realize its presence with the help of the following example: "O son of Bharata, as the sun alone illuminates all this universe, so does the living entity, one within the body, illuminate the entire body by consciousness." (BG 13.34) There are various theories regarding consciousness. Here in Bhagavad-gita the example of the sun and the sunshine is given. As the sun is situated in one place, but is illuminating the whole universe, so a small particle of spirit soul, although situated in the heart of this body, is illuminating the whole body by consciousness. Thus consciousness is the proof of the presence of the soul, as sunshine or light is the proof of the presence of the sun. When the soul is present in the body, there is consciousness all over the body, and as soon as the soul has passed from the body, there is no more consciousness. This can be easily understood by any intelligent man. Therefore consciousness is not a production of the combinations of matter. It is the symptom of the living entity. The consciousness of the living entity, although qualitatively one with the supreme consciousness, is not supreme because the consciousness of one particular body does not share that of another body. But the Supersoul, which is situated in all bodies as the friend of the individual soul, is conscious of all bodies. That is the difference between supreme consciousness and individual consciousness. Although reincarnation constantly takes place because the soul is changing its various bodies, in the West the term reincarnation is mainly referred to as the final change of the soul into a new body.

It has two parts. The first part is called Namakam (as the word “Namo” is repeatedly used). It occurs in the Krishna Yajurveda, Taittariya Samhita, fourth chapter. The second part is called Chamakam (as the word “Chame” is often used) and occurs in the seventh chapter. Sri Rudram is a very sacred and powerful Vedic hymn. It is recited during Poojas and Homams by Vedic pundits for many benefits. Namakam is divided into eleven anuvakas. In Hindu mythology, the god of creation force is Brahma, the god of preservation is Vishnu, and the god of destruction is Rudra. Sri Rudram acknowledges Rudra’s vital role. In the Vedic tradition, all gods have two opposing manifestations - peaceful and fierce. In the Rig Veda, Rudra evokes the fierce thunderstorm and lightning which kills men and cattle, but which also brings peace and plenty through the rain. Rudra represents the fierce aspect, while Shiva represents the calm aspect. Many mantras found in Sri Rudram are said to bring peace and enlightenment. One of the most important mantras found in Rudram is the Panchakshari Mantra; “Om namah Shivaya” The powerful Mrityunjaya Mantra is found in Rudram. Benefits of Chanting Sri Rudram: Rudra wards off negative energy. Helps us to have a smooth life. Removes ignorance and facilitates self-realization. Protects from devils, diseases, monsters etc. Destroys enemies, helps beget children and acquire wealth. After praying and identifying Rudra with everything in the Namakam, the Chamakam is recited, in which the devotee identifies himself with Lord Shiva and asks him to give him everything!! These excellent prayer is intended for the bulk of the people and every thing to be cherished in the world is included in this ascend to the state of Jnani to attain Moksha i.e. eternal happiness. Chamakam assures granting of what all you ask in a fullthroated manner unabashed. The creator makes no distinction between the things of the world and the other world. Lord Brahma holds the credit for sculpting the universe and all of its inhabitants. A third of the Holy Trinity, Lord Brahma is associated with creation but not preservation or destruction. The beginning of the creation of the universe had Lord Brahma form the four Kumaras, also known as the Chatursana, at the outset of the creative process. But they defied his order to have children, choosing instead to devote their lives to Vishnu and to being childless. It is said that Lord Brahma was busy making Gandharva, Yaksha, Kinnara, Kimpurusha, Rakshasa, Nagas, Suparna, Vanaras, Vidyadhara, Valkyria, Pisacha, Devas, Asuras, and Humans after he had hatched the universe from the cosmic egg. Humans, it is thought, were formed in his likeness to serve as an image to the gods. That's how we got our four Kumara sages. The twelve sons, known as Sravanas, the progenitors of humanity, emerge from his imagination. Manas Putras means "mind-sons" or "spirits" because they were born from his mind rather than his body. But Nachiketa, his son, noticed that Vājashravasa was donating only the cows that were old, barren, blind, or lame; not such as might buy the worshipper a place in heaven. Nachiketa, wanting the best for his father's rite, asked: "I too am yours, to which God will you offer me?". After being pestered thus, Vājashravasa answered in a fit of anger, "I give you unto Yamaraja Himself!" Despite his father's repentance at his outburst, Nachiketa regarded his father's words to have a divine meaning, and consoling him, went to Yamaraja's home. Yama was out, and so he waited for three days without any food or water. When Yama returned, he was sorry to see that a Brahmin guest had been waiting so long without food and water. To compensate for his mistake, Yama told Nachiketa, "You have waited in my house for three days without hospitality, therefore ask three boons from me". Nachiketa first asked for peace for his father and himself, when he returned to his father. Yama agreed. Next, Nachiketa wished to learn the sacred fire sacrifice, which Yama elaborated. For his third boon, Nachiketa wanted to learn the mystery of what comes after the death of the body. Yama was reluctant on this question. He said that this had been a mystery even to the gods. He urged Nachiketa to ask for some other boon, and offered him longevity, progeny, wealth, rulership of a planet of his choice, and all the apsaras of his choice instead. But Nachiketa replied that material things are ephemeral, and would not confer immortality. So, no other boon would do. Yama was secretly pleased with this disciple, and elaborated on the nature of the true Self, which persists beyond the death of the body. He revealed the knowledge that one's Self is inseparable from Brahma, the supreme spirit, the vital force in the universe. Yama's explanation is a succinct explication of Hindu metaphysics, and focuses on the following points: The sound Om is the syllable of the supreme Brahma The Atma, whose symbol is Om is the same as the omnipresent Brahma. Smaller than the smallest and larger than the largest, the Soul is formless and all-pervading The goal of the wise is to know this Atma The Atma is like a rider; the horses are the senses, which he guides through the maze of desires After death, it is the Atma that remains; the Atma is immortal Mere reading of the scriptures or intellectual learning cannot realise Atma One must discriminate the Atma from the body, which is the seat of desire The inability to realise Brahma results in one being enmeshed in the cycle of rebirths; Understanding the Self leads to moksha Thus having learned the wisdom of the Brahma from Yama, Nachiketa returned to his father as a #jivanmukta, an individual who has achieved spiritual liberation while being alive. #nachiketa #yama #kathopanishad #VoiceofMaheedhar #MPlanetLeaf #Hinduism #Hindu #Sanatanadharmam #History

Instead, the soul has to wait for the final judgement by Lord Yamraj. The soul will do its time in hell if it has to serve a sentence. Moreover, the soul is sent to the Earth so that it can redeem its sins of previous birth. Therefore, the soul is stuck in a vicious cycle where it can attain Moksha only when it has balanced its sins. Hence, all the souls strive to achieve freedom from the cycle of birth and rebirth. The Garuda Purana in Telugu and other languages mentions that life is a precious gift, and every action must be taken diligently and in the best interest of society. What is human race? The Garuda Purana is one of eighteen Mahāpurāṇa genre of texts in Hinduism. The Padma Purana categorizes the Garuda Purana, along with itself, Bhagavata Purana and Vishnu Purana, as a Sattva Purana (a purana which represents goodness and purity). Lord Shiva is the Kshetra Palaka (Protector) of Tirumala Divya Kshetram. He plays a significant role in daily temple rituals, receiving Puja and offerings in the Eesanyam (North-East) direction. The Bali ritual, performed after every food offering (I Bell, II Bell, and Night Bell), honors Lord Shiva among other deities. You can find part of the Kshetra Palaka Sila in the form of Bali Peetam at the Dvajasthambam enclosure's North-East corner. The stone is said to have once been a live stone, protecting the temple by moving around the Mada Streets. Due to an incident, it was fixed at Gogarbham Dam, and a part of it is now used in temple rituals. Every year during Maha Shivaratri, a grand celebration with sacred rituals, including Rudrabhishekam and Alankaram, is conducted at Gogarbham Dam, honoring Lord Shiva. This unique event highlights the unity of Shaiva and Vaishnava traditions, symbolizing 'Sivaya Vishnu Roopaya, Siva Roopaya Vishnave'. People used to be satisfied with what they had and within what they had, used to help others. Their hearts were filled with pure love, friendship and bhakti. The story of Sudama, the best friend of Lord Krishna, stands as an outstanding example for this. Sudama and Krishna Bhagavan were good friends. The friendship started at their gurukula with guru Saandeepa. As always duty takes more priority than everything. Hence, after completing their studies they had to part. However, neither Krishna nor Sudama could forget each other. Sudama, knowing who Krishna really was, also had true devotion for him. Sudama never was interested in earning lot of money or other such worldly desires. Once after many years, not able to bear the separation from Krishna anymore, sets off to meet Krishna. On hearing the news of his friend’s arrival, Krishna runs to the city gates to receive Sudama personally. Krishna, the eternal god, hugs Sudama several times and they break into tears with uncontrollable happiness. Krishna takes Sudama to his palace and makes him sit comfortably on the bed of Krishna and Rukmini Devi. Krishna, whose feet Brahma himself washed to produce the holy waters of Ganga, washed the feet of his friend, together with Rukmini, with utmost care. Then the Lord of the worlds, purifies himself, his queens and the palace with the paada jalam of the great scholar, Sudama. Though Sudama was very poor and did not even have money to eat food, he did not even think about it while he was with Krishna. Krishna took the atukulu brought by Sudama for him and commented that it was one of his best ever meals. Both of them talked a lot, till their hearts were full and finally Sudama returned to his house with a full heart, thoroughly satisfied with the Lord’s sweet words. Moral in the story: 1. Money, property and other pleasures are Kshanabhanguraas and as a person keeps satisfying them, they will only increase. Hence, like Sudama, one needs to be content with what he has. Even given a chance to ask anything from Krishna, he did not choose to ask him! 2. The nature of pure friendship is exposed by Krishna and Sudama. Krishna, being the lord of the universe, washed the feet of his friend and purifies himself with the paada-jalam. Sudama, though was extremely poor, never asked Krishna for wealth and make friendship a business. 3. Notice that only a guru is one who makes a person meet God. This is reflected clearly in the story. It is because of Saandeepa that Krishna and Sudama knew each other and met each other again. 4. Krishna making his friend sit on his shayya, talk with him what Rukmini and he talk intimately and receiving Sudama at the gates of the city show how intimate & sincere friendship must be. 5. The kind of respect one must give to a guest and a scholar is well brought out by Krishna. #sudama #kuchela #krishna #VoiceofMaheedhar #MPlanetLeaf #MaheedharsPlanetLeaf #Hinduism #Hindu #Sanatanadharmam #Bhakti #History #RealFacts #Maheedhar #historical #Telugu #bharatavarsha #unknownfacts #ancientscience

Yama gave all the details of a particular sacrifice, the performance of which would take one to heaven. As Nachiketa was an intelligent and a sincere boy blessed with a spiritual knowledge, he could understand all that was taught. Nachiketa asked, “Respected Sir. What happens to a man after death? I should like to know the truth from you. This I ask for the third boon. I wish to know the Self about which people have this doubt - 'Some say it exists after death. Others say it does not. I would like to learn about it from no less a teacher than you." Yama hesitated. "Don't ask for such a boon, Nachiketaa. Even the gods in the past had their doubts about this. It is not easy to understand and is very subtle a subject. Ask for some other boon instead" Nachiketa said "If even the Gods had their doubts, this subject is not ordinary and must have great significance. If it is also difficult to understand, so be it. You are the most ideal teacher and I should not miss this opportunity. I cannot think of any better boon better than this." The Lord of Death is alarmed by this request and tries to appease Nachiketa by offering him as much wealth, comforts and long healthy life as he would ever wish for, and not ask for this particular boon. But Nachiketa turned down all offers. He said "O Death, tell us of that thing about which people entertain doubt in the context of the next world and whose knowledge leads to a great result. Apart from this boon, which relates to the inscrutable thing, Naciketa does not pray for any other." Yama tested Nachiketaa further, "You don't know what you are losing, Nachiketaa. Ask for all the riches at my command - cattle, elephants, horses, and gold. Ask for long life and a kingdom on earth. Ask for children and grandchildren who will live hundred years. Ask for heavenly pleasures that are out of the world unavailable to humans. Ask for these beautiful Apsaras who ride in chariots and play musical instruments. All these I can give you . Change your third boon. Do not ask for Self-knowledge." Nachiketa laughed and said, " O Lord of Death, you have blessed me and will not send me empty-handed when I go back. Moreover I need not fear death as long as you rule. Asking for more would be greediness. Pleasure is fleeting and only tires a person if enjoyed to excess. Man's greed can never be satisfied by wealth. And the longest life is too short to enjoy everything there is in the world. Nachiketaa thus instructed in Self-knowledge by Yama , became free from sorrow and death, and attained the Self, his true nature. Drupada arranged a swayamvara for Draupadi’s marriage in the Panchala court. At the centre of the court a pole was erected over which there was a revolving wheel. On the wheel was a wooden fish. At the bottom of the pole there was a pan of water. The one, who could shoot an arrow at the eye of revolving fish while looking at its reflection in the water below, would marry Draupadi. This was the condition for the swayamvara. Princes from all over assembled for the swayamvara. The Pandavas who were at that time living as Brahmins were also present. Duryodhana, Karna, and Shri Krishna were also present. As the Swayamvara began, many brave princes tried to win the hand of Draupadi, but failed to perform the difficult task of shooting the fish’s eye. When Karna came forward to show his skill, Draupadi stopped him and said, “I will not marry a charioteer’s son.” Insulted, Karna left the court. When all the princes were unsuccessful in performing the feat, Drupada became worried about the marriage of his daughter. Suddenly, Arjuna dressed as a Brahmin rose to try the feat. Nobody was able to recognise him. All the princes objected to the participation of a Brahmin in a competition that was meant for them. But looking at the build and confidence of the Brahmin, no one dared to say anything. Arjuna easily shot the fish’s eye. Draupadi was very happy and she put the wedding garland around Arjuna’s neck. All the princes felt humiliated and were jealous of Arjuna. They attacked him. Bhima came to his rescue. The mighty Pandavas easily defeated all the princes and took Draupadi with them. Drishtdyumna, Draupadi’s brother, followed them to find out who the Brahmin was. When they reached their hut, the Pandavas called out to their mother, Kunti, “Look, Mother, what we have brought.” Kunti replied from inside the hut, “Share it among yourselves,” thinking that they had brought food. When she saw the bride and was told that she was Arjuna’s wife, Kunti was very unhappy at what she had said. As a custom, the Pandavas would have to obey every word that she had said – Draupadi would have to become the wife of all five brothers. Just then Krishna came to their hut. He told Kunti, “in her previous life Draupadi had worshipped Shiva to get a husband with five qualities. But Shiva had given her a boon that in her next life she would marry five men each having one quality.” On hearing this Kunti felt satisfied and Draupadi became the wife of all five Pandavas. Dhrishtadyumna who had followed them, heard all this. He went back to his father Drupada and said, “I have good news for you. The brave Brahmin who married Draupadi was none other than the great Arjuna.” Drupada was delighted to hear this. But when he came to know that Draupadi was to be the wife of all the five Pandavas, he was sad, because this was against the law. At that time, Sage Vyasa came there.

The story of the birth of the Sage is very interesting. Sage Parashara was the son of Sage Shakti and his wife Adrsyanti. Sage Shakti was the son of Sage Vasishta. Legend has it that once a king named Kalmasapada met Sage Shakti in the forest on a narrow path. False pride made both of them not to give way to each other. The king got angry and whipped the Sage. The Sage who was overtaken by anger cursed the king to become a demon. Sage Vasishta was then living with his daughter-in-law Adrayanti, wife of Sage Shakti. One day Sage Vasishta heard Vedic chantings in the hermitage and soon discovered that child of Sage Shakti was developing in the womb of Adrsyanti. When time came, Adrisyanti gave birth to the son of Saktri in Vasistha’s ashrama. Vasistha himself performed the after birth ceremonies of his grandson. Since Vasistha had given up his desire for destroying his own body when he heard about this unborn child, the child came to be known as Parasar (one who brings life to the dead). The child grew up in the ashrama to become a very learned and a pious son of a Rishi under the tutelage of Vasistha. The child knew Vasistha to be his father and addressed him as such. One day when he had addressed Vasistha as father in front of his mother Adrisyanti, the latter replied that Vasistha was not his father but grandfather, and his father Saktri was called by a Rakshasa in the forest. Parasar was at first sad to hear the account of his father, but soon he was enraged and vowed to destroy the creation by his ascetic power. Vasistha was concerned. He tried to pacify him by telling him the story of Aurva. On hearing this account, Parasar refrained from the resolution of detroying the whole world. However he bore a grudge against the Rakshasas who had killed his father. Parasar therefore called for a sacrifice to exterminate all the Rakshasas to avenge the death of his father. Parasar, the young Rishi, conversant with the Vedas, offered his oblations and Rakshasas and cannibals from different regions, young and old, male and female, came rushing and fell into that terrible fire which consumed them immediately. It seemed that all Rakshasas would be killed. Then the heavenly sages, seeing the great calamity that faced the creation in general and the Rakshasas in particular, approached the place of worship. Atri, the foremost among them, asked Parasar to stop the sacrifice of innocent Rakshasas. Along with him came Pulastya, an ancestor of Ravana and the progenitor of the Rakshasas, the sage Pulaha, and the sage Kratu, who himself had performed many sacrifices. Pulastya was aggrieved by the death of the Rakshasas and addressed Parasar in the most gentle manner to desist from the act. He told Parasar that non violence or ahimsa was the highest virtue and as a Brahmin it was his duty to practice non violence.

Vishwamitra was a warrior, the son of King Gadhin of Kanyakubja (Kannauj). One day, in the course of his hunting, he came to the hermitage of Rishi Vasistha. The latter had a marvellous cow which fulfilled all his wishes. When he desired anything, whether food or drink, jewels or garments, or whatever it might be, he had only to say ‘Give’ and the cow Nandini granted it to him. When Vishwamitra saw the excellent cow, he desired to have it, and offered Vashishta ten thousand ordinary cows for it. But the latter would not give it up as it gave him everything he ever wanted for sacrificial purposes. Vishwamitra now wanted to steal the cow, according to “warriors’ custom.” Vashishta, as a gentle Brahmin, did not hinder him in this, but the marvellous cow itself brought forth out of its body, mighty hosts of warriors, by whom the troops of Vishwamitra were defeated and put to flight. Then the proud king sees that the power of Brahmins is after all greater than that of warriors; he gives up his kingdom and performs severe austerities in order to become a Brahmin, in which he succeeds after tremendous efforts. Even after Vishwamitra has become a Brahmin, his enmity with Vashishta continued. Instigated by Vishwamitra, Kalmashapada, who is possessed by a Baksasa, eliminates the sons of Vasistha. But the latter is so fall of mildness that he will rather die than give vent to his anger. He is about to end his life, and throws himself down from Mount Meru, but falls on a pile of wool. He enters the fire, but it does not burn him. With a stone around his neck he throws himself into the sea, but is thrust out again living. So he returns with a sorrowful heart to his hermitage. But when he sees his home empty of children, grief brings him back anew to thoughts of ending himself. He hurls himself into a swollen mountain stream, after having tied his limbs fast with ropes, but the current tears his fetters and throws him on to a bank. Wandering further, he comes to a river which is fair of crocodiles and horrible monsters and he throws himself in, but the wild animals timidly shrink away from him. As he sees that he cannot die by his own hand, he returns again to his hermitage, after having wandered over hills and countries. On the way he meets his daughter-in-law Adrsyanti, and he hears a voice like that of his son singing Veda hymns. It is the voice of his as yet unborn grandchild, who already in his mother’s womb -Adrsyanti has been pregnant with him since twelve years- has learned all the Vedas. As soon as he knows that he is to have descendants, he gives up his thoughts of ending himself. Much more is explained in Telugu in our above video. Do you know any other interesting facts? After him, his son Vishwamitra became the ruler. He was a great warrior, and addicted to hunting for sport. While he was wandering in the forest in search of game, accompanied by his retinue, he came upon the hermitage of the great sage Vasishta. The king and his men were both tired and hungry by this time. The sage welcomed the King, and caused refreshments to be brought forth. The King was very much surprised, that a complete feast had been laid out for his army! There were delectable dishes of every description and refreshing drinks of every variety. The King and his followers dined in style. Vishwamitra then said to Vasishta, “O Sage, how is that, living isolated in the forest, with no visible means of support, you were able to provide such a lavish feast for me and my men? Is it the result of some great magic that you alone know? Or have the celestials blessed you with the means to entertain your guests in style?” The sage said, “King, what you witnessed was no magic. Indra has given me Nandini, the calf of his divine cow Kamadhenu. Like her mother, this sacred calf is capable of yielding all manner of riches. Thanks to her, I was able to provide you with refreshments in no time.” The King felt that this calf could solve the problem of feeding his great army. He said to the sage, “O Great one, I shall give you ten thousand heads of first-class cattle. Give me this calf Nandini in exchange. She will be very useful to me.” “O King, this cow has been kept by me for the sake of Gods, guests and my Pitris (ancestors). Besides, she is essential to me for the conduct of my sacrifices. I cannot give away the gift of Indra, not even if you were to offer me your whole kingdom.” The King then grew angry. “I am a Kshatriya, endued with great energy and the scrouge of my enemies. I have all the power in the world. What power do you, a mere Brahmana, who spends his time in prayer and meditation have? Since you have refused to give me your cow in fair exchange, I shall take her away by force. She is more useful in the hands of a King than in the hands of a hermit!” Vasishta said, “You well know the merit of a Brahmana, however drunk by power, you do not consider the propriety of your actions. Do what you will. I shall not attempt to stop you.” Vishwamitra then ordered his men to drag the cow away by force. In obedience, his soldiers tied a rope to the neck of Nandini and tried to take her away. Nandini then approached Vasishta and said, “Sir, What crime have I committed? Why do you suffer me to be insulted thus by the King’s men? Are you displeased with me? Why have you given me away to the King.” The sage said, “Nandini, It is not by my will that the King is taking you. Angry that I would not sell you to him, he has decided to abduct you by force. In Mahabharata, Arjun asked Gandharva about the origin of the name Tapatya, so the Gandharva said sun had a beautiful daughter Tapati, whom he was concerned to marry off. An early Kaurava king Samvarana worships the sun and was elected as her husband. One day out for hunting the king saw her and fell in love and proposed a marriage but she referred him to her father for his approval. After that the king started to worship the sun and took the help of sage vasistha and sent him before the sun, vasistha then requested sun to approve the marriage of samvarana and tapati and the sun has agreed on it. As per the Hindu texts Tapati was famous for her devotion and neither goddess, nor demon, Apsara and Gandharva equalled her in beauty. It was also said the no one could matched her in beauty, dispositions and a knowledge of the vedas. Since the river Tapati likely was named after Tapati, people worship her both in the form as a goddess and as an important river with many qualities in it as per the Hindu texts. As per the Hindu texts, Tapati has the following relatives Surya as her father and Chhaya as her mother, she was a wife of Samvarana and the mother of kuru, she was a younger sister of Yami and Bhadra and had two brothers Shani and Yama. The temple's engineers created this illusion. The floating stone A huge granite block was transported from a village and placed on top of the temple using a 200-meter-long ramp. It's a mystery how the block was lifted and placed inside. The accuracy of the design The temple's compound is almost a perfect rectangle of two equal squares. The main shivlinga is exactly at the center of the second square. The Nandi is almost at the center of the first square. Other mysteries Some say the temple was built without metal tools. So there was neither corn for men nor grass for animals. The next year also there was drought. People and animals were in great distress. Rivers and ponds became dry. The scorching heat of the sun burnt grass, and trees became lifeless. There was an all-round cry of distress for water. There had been drought not only for one or two years but continually for twelve years. People began to cry for help and mercy. No corn, no water, no grass was left. Rainy season and winter season totally disappeared. There was only dry summer season. Terrible hot dust and winds were blowing. Flying fowls were rarely seen in the sky. Not only beasts and birds, but innumerable human beings were trapped by death. So many innocent babies died of starvation because no milk was left at their mothers' breasts. Men and women were reduced to skeletons and their condition became very pitiable. But from where could a handful of corn be obtained? How could corn be obtained even by spending the inexhaustible treasure of a king and boundless wealth of multi-millionaires? The situation became from bad to worse. All the people were under the jaws of death. Someone said that if a human being was killed as a sacrifice, it might cause rain. The suggestion appealed to the people but life is dear to everyone. People could not force a person to sacrifice his life. A large number of people assembled but all of them remained silent. Their heads were bent. Suddenly the silence was disturbed. All the people raised their heads and saw that a very handsome boy of twelve was standing. His limbs were very tender. He said, "Gentlemen! I am gladly ready to sacrifice my life in order to protect the lives of so many beings and to rid my country from this crisis. This life is of the country and is to be sacrificed for the country; what can be its more utility than this? With this pretext, God the Universal Spirit, will be served with this peri perishable body." "Dear Son, Satamanyu! you are blessed," a man cried and running, hugged him. It was his father. He said "Dear son, you have immortalized your ancestors." Satamanyu's mother was also there. She neared her son. Her eyes were filled with tears. She embraced her son so warmly as if she would never lose hold of him. At the time, appointed for the celebration, the sacrifice ceremony began. Satamanyu was given a bath with the water of sacred places of pilgrimage and he was adorned with dress and ornaments. His forehead was pasted with sandalwood. He was garlanded. The boy came to the altar of sacrifice. Standing near the sacrifice-pillar, he began to think of Indra, the king of gods. The sacrifice altar was calm and quiet... According to the epic Mahabharata, Bareilly region (Panchala) is said to be the birthplace of Draupadi, who was also referred to as ‘Panchali’. King Drupada of Panchala had been defeated by the Pandava prince Arjuna on behalf of Drona, who subsequently took half his kingdom. To gain revenge on Drona, he performed a yajna called Putrakameshti yajna to obtain a means of besting him. From the sacrificial fire, Draupadi emerged as a beautiful dark-skinned young woman after her sibling Dhrishtadyumna. When she emerged from the fire, a heavenly voice said that she would bring about the destruction of the Kuru line. Draupadi is described in the Mahabharata as a very beautiful woman of that time. Overcome by fear, the ruler of that kingdom fled to the other city so there was no one to protect the citizens. Bhima left the town with a cart full of food to the demon Bakasura. On the way, he ate most of the food and reached the demon’s place with almost an empty cart. Noticing that, Bakasur got furious and attacked Bhima. A fearful fight soon ensued and Bakasur was killed. Within Hindu tradition, the five Pandavas from the epic, Mahabharata are described as staying in Ekachakra during their years in exile. It is also famous as the birthplace of Nityananda Rama (b 1474 CE), a principal religious figure in the Gaudiya Vaishnava tradition. Hidimba met the other Pandavas and requested Kunti to permit Bhima to marry her. Hidimba promised to return Bhima to the Pndavas after the birth of a child. Kunti and her four sons were impressed by Hidimba, and agreed to accept her as Bhima’s wife. After some time Hidimba gave a birth to a son, who was named Ghatotkacha. Ghatotkacha grew up in no time and, like his father, became a great warrior. Bhima returned to his family with his son and wife. As promised, Hidimba left with her son after a short visit and Ghatotkacha promised to return to the Pandavas whenever they need him. When Pandavas were about to leave the forest, sage Veda Vyasa arrived there. He consoled the Pandavas, and assured them that justice will finally prevail. On the advice of Veda Vyasa, Kunti and her five sons went to a nearby town, called Ekachakra, and stayed there in a Brahmin’s house, disguised as Brahmins. The Pandavas lived on begging alms and chanting prayers. Kunti always divided the food into two portions – one for Bhima alone, and the other portion for the rest of them. Bhima was big and could eat as much as all the other Pandavas! One day, while Kunti was resting at noon, she heard wailings inside the Brahmin’s house where they were staying. He and his sister, Hidimba were tempted at the sight of the Pandavas and wished to fight them. For this purpose Hidimba changed herself into a beautiful woman and brought him near Hidimbasura. However, he came into conflict with Bhima and died in the conflict. As the brother of Hidimba he was also the uncle of Ghatotkacha. He was reputed to be 8 cubits tall (12 feet tall for the 18-inch cubit conversion). Tradition states that Hidimba belonged to the great Bamun family of Nalbari (Assam), Kamrup of which the Dimasa people believe themselves to be descendants. The story began after the Pandavas escaped from the Lakshagraha and reached a dense forest. Tired and exhausted, they all fell asleep at night except Bhima who kept a watch. In the same forest lived Hidimba along with her Rakshasa brother Hidimba who was a very powerful rakshasa. He smelled the Pandavas resting at a distance and as usual asked Hidimba to lure the well-built Bhima into getting eaten. Hidimba confronted Bhima and instead fell in love with him. She assumed the form of a very beautiful lady, approached Bhima and expressed her desire to marry him. She also revealed her true identity and her brother’s intentions. Bhima refused to accept her as his wife and confronted Hidimba. A great fight took place which resulted in Hidimba getting killed With the utmost difficulty, the Pandavas crossed through the tunnel and entered the dense forest. After many miles of walk through the forest, the Pandava brothers and mother Kunti laid down under a big tree, hungry and thirsty. Bhima went to get the water but when he came back, he saw everyone in deep sleep. Bhima stayed awake to guard them A fearful demon called Hidimbasura lived with his sister Hidimba on a huge tree, near the place where the Pandavas were resting. As soon as Hidimbasura smelled the presence of humans, he asked his sister Hidimba to capture them for their dinner. Hidimba reached the place and saw Bhima guarding the Pandavas. She instantaneously fell in love with Bhima; transformed herself into a beautiful maiden, and approached him. She said I am Hidimba, my brother is a demon, and he will eat all of you. Bhima smiled and replied, Don’t worry; I am strong enough to defeat your brother. When Hidimba did not return for a long time, Hidimbasura went looking for her, and saw her with Bhima. “I sent you to kill the human and you are talking to him. I will kill him myself.” Saying so, he attacked Bhima. A fierce fight followed and ended with Bhima killing Hidimbasura. The thunderous roars of the two fighters woke the four Pandavas and Kunti. Hidimba then met the other Pandavas and requested Kunti to permit Bhima to marry her. Hidimba promised to return Bhima to the Pndavas after the birth of a child. This house was built under the orders of Duryodhana and his evil uncle and mentor Shakuni in a plot to kill the Pandavas along with their mother Kunti. The architect Purochana was employed in the building of Lakshagraha in the forest of Varnavrat. The house was meant to be a death trap, since lacquer is highly flammable. The plot itself was such that nobody would suspect foul play and the eventual death of the Pandavas would pass off as an accident. In the Mahabharata this incident is considered as a major turning point, since the Pandavas were considered dead by their cousins, the Kauravas which gave them ample opportunity to prepare themselves for an upcoming and unavoidable war. But at the same time, we find all evidences at Gadchiroli district of eastern Maharashtra. The place is known as Lakkamendha., Where we found glimpses of Lakshagruha. Also, other evidences of Mahabharata are available there. Dhritarashtra affectionately told the Pandavas to go there as the people of Varnavata will also be very happy to receive the sons of Pandu. The unsuspecting Pandavas were easily persuaded. They began their preparations for the journey and took their leave of Bheeshma and other elders. Duryodhana was elated and sent their trusted minister Purochana to Varnavata with secret instructions. However, Vidhura, uncle of the Pandavas came to know of Duryodhana’s evil plan to burn Pandavas alive while sleeping, and alerted Yudhishthira. As narrated in the Mahabharata (Mbh.1.147), the Pandavas reached Varanavat on the eighth day of the month of Phalguna when the star Rohini was in the ascendant. As noted by historians, Varanavat was a large town, (for a town in 3000 BCE time periods) containing more than 1000 (perhaps 5000) inhabitants. The use of vehicles by the inhabitants also indicated a level ground rather than a mountainous terrain. The passage also indicated that the palace for the Pandavas was not ready when they reached the town, and took ten more days to complete. The Pandavas stayed in a temporary house arranged by Purochana and entered the palace once it was complete. Pandavas were astonished by the beautiful palace Duryodhana had built for them. Yudhishthira proceeded to examine the walls and realized they were made up of highly combustible materials. He told his other brothers and mother to behave such as not arouse any suspicion that they were aware of Duryodhana’s plan. Vidhura had sent one of his trusted artisans to dig an underground tunnel leading to the forests surrounding the Palace. On the full moon’s night, the Pandavas gave the night off to all the palace workers and sent them home. Then they pretended to retire to bed as usual. Yudhishthira woke the other up at midnight and they set the palace ablaze before Purochana could get up and escaped through the tunnel.

The story starts many generations ago with the dynasty of King Bharata of the Kuru dynasty until it comes all the way to the fight between the Pandvas and Kauravas. This episode establishes the change in the mind set of Dhritarashtra and Duryodhana. The dispute over succession of the kingdom’s throne. It attributes the late birth of Duryodhana, the eldest son of Dhritarashtra, despite his father’s early marriage and legitimizes the case for his cousin Yudhishthira to claim the throne, since he could claim to be the eldest of his generation. Duryodhana is mentored by his maternal uncle Shakuni, who masterminded most of Duryodhana’s plots to humiliate and kill the Pandavas. Duryodhana’s hatred for the Pandavas stems from his sincere belief that he being the son of the eldest brother and then king (even though he was just a deputy) is the heir apparent to the throne of Hastinapura. Because of his blindness, his father had to renounce the throne in favor of the younger Pandu. Duryodhana deeply believed that what was rightfully his was being given away to his older cousin Yudhishthira. He also felt that the Pandavas were sons of Kunti and Gods (devas/deities), not of Pandu. He never believed that their divine origin alone proved their superiority, on many occasions questioning their merits, and always calling them the ‘Kaunteya’ (sons of Kunti). He also bore a deep hatred of Bhima, who was younger than him but much stronger and dominated his brothers in sport and skill with his immense physical power and strength. When they were young, Bhima’s bullying and taunting were a constant source of pain for Duryodhana and his brothers. The Pandavas were the darlings of the public too. They openly talked about Yudhishthira as their future king as he was an ardent follower of Dharma, and also the most capable of all Kuru princes. Duryodhana heard all the comments that the public made, and his rage knew no bounds. Duryodhana came up a plan with his uncle Shakuni to kill Pandavas so that he can ascend the throne of Hastinapur. He approached his father Dhritarashtra, and requested him to send the Pandavas and their mother Kunti to city Varnavata, where annual festivities were held in honour of Lord Shiva. Dhritarashtra was a very learned man and followed Dharma most of the time except when it came to Duryodhana. His blind love for his son, made him take bad decisions. He liked his brother’s sons, the Pandavas, but his weakness of will and doting love for his own children made him a participant in Duryodhana’s evil plans.

A day was fixed for a test and exhibition of their proficiency in the use of arms in the presence of the royal family and as the public had also been invited to witness the performance of their beloved princes. There was a large and enthusiastic crowd. Arjuna displayed superhuman skill with his weapons and the vast assemblage was lost in wonder and admiration. Duryodhana’s brow was dark with envy and hate. At the close of the day, there came suddenly from the entrance of the arena a sound, loud and compelling like thunder the sound made by the slapping of mighty arms in challenge. All eyes turned in that direction. They saw enter through the crowd, which made way in awed silence, a godlike youth from whom light and power seemed to emanate. He looked proudly round him, cast a negligent salute to Drona and Kripa, and strode up to Arjuna. The brothers, all unaware, by the bitter irony of fate, of their common blood, faced one another; for it was Karna. With Drona’s leave, Karna the lover of battle, then and there duplicated all of Arjuna’s feats with careless ease. Great was Duryodhana’s exultation. He threw his arms round Karna and said: “Welcome, O thou with mighty arms, whom good fortune has sent to us. I and this kingdom of the Kurus are at your command.” Said Karna: “I, Karna, am grateful, O king. Only two things I seek, your love and single combat with Partha.” As love flooded Duryodhana’s heart, even so did blazing wrath fill Arjuna, who felt affronted. And glaring fiercely at Karna who stood, stately as a mountain peak, receiving the greetings of the Kaurava brothers, he said: “O Karna, slain by me thou shalt presently go to the hell appointed for those who intrude uninvited and prate unbidden.” Karna laughed in scorn: This arena is open to all, O Arjuna, and not to you alone. Might is the sanction of sovereignty and the law is based on it. But what is the use of mere talk which is the weapon of the weak? Shoot arrows instead of words. Thus challenged, Arjuna, with Drona’s permission, hastily embraced his brothers and stood ready for combat. While Karna, taking leave of the Kuru brothers, confronted him weapon in hand. And, as though the divine parents of the heroes sought to encourage their offspring and witness this fateful battle, Indra, the lord of the thunderclouds, and Bhaskara of the in finite rays, simultaneously appeared in the heavens. As they were about to join in battle, Kripa, well-versed in the rules of single combat, stepped between them and addressed Karna

It says that those who follow the Garuda Purana's teachings achieve successful lives and find a place at the divine feet of Shrihari Vishnu even after death. The text also emphasizes that those who perform benevolent deeds attain salvation in the afterlife, while those who commit wicked acts are consigned to hell and subjected to various torments. The Garuda Purana also states that for seven days, the soul moves about its places of interest, such as its favorite joint, morning walk garden, or office. For example, if the soul is possessive of its money, it will stay near its cupboard, or if it is possessive of its children, it will just be in their room, clinging on to them. Given the profound significance of death and the afterlife in Hindu philosophy, funeral rites and rituals, known as ‘Antyesti’ or ‘Antim Sanskar’, are conducted with great care and reverence. One should ensure a dignified farewell to your loved ones. These customs aim to honour the departed soul, facilitate its transition to the next phase of existence, and support the grieving family. In Hindu traditions, cremation is the most common method of disposing of the physical body after death. Cremation is a symbolic ritual that signifies the soul’s liberation from its earthly body and its transitioning journey into the spiritual world. The element of fire, represented by ‘Agni’, the god of fire, plays a crucial role in this process. It is believed that Agni acts as a messenger, carrying the soul from the mortal realm back to its origin in the earth, thus facilitating its onward journey. The observance of Pitru Paksha and Shraddha Paksha rituals for a year brings several benefits to the individual and the family. These include: 1. Financial Stability and Progress: The Shraddha rites are believed to enhance financial stability and prosperity in the lives of the descendants. 2. Acquisition of Wealth and Assets: Performing the Shraddha rituals is believed to facilitate the acquisition of immovable property and assets. 3. Smooth Business Operations: The Shraddha ceremonies are said to bless business ventures, ensuring smoothness in operations and progress in endeavours. 4. Worldly Lessons: The Shraddha rituals provide valuable lessons and guidance for navigating worldly affairs, leading to wisdom and success. 5. Spiritual Enlightenment: The observance of Shraddha fosters spiritual growth and enlightenment, allowing individuals to deepen their connection with the divine. #VoiceofMaheedhar #MPlanetLeaf #MaheedharsPlanetLeaf #Hinduism #Hindu #Sanatanadharmam #Bhakti #History #RealFacts #Maheedhar #Mahidhar #Facts #Mysteries #మహీధర్ #హిందూత్వం #BJP #MPL #RSS #సనాతనధర్మం #historical #Telugu #bharatavarsha #unknownfacts #ancientscience

Mahabharatam WebSeries in Telugu Episode-15 (Educational and war training of Kauravas and Pandavas) | సంపూర్ణ మహాభారతం భాగం-15 (కౌరవపాండవ విద్యాభ్యాసం) | Maheedhar’s Planet Leaf (MPlanetLeaf) In the epic Mahabharata, Drona or Dronacharya or Guru Drona or Rajaguru Devadrona was the royal preceptor to the Kauravas and Pandavas; an avatar of Brihaspati. He is the friend of Guru Sukracharya, the teacher for Asura Mahabali. He was the son of rishi Bharadwaja and a descendant of the sage Angirasa. He was a master of advanced military arts, including the divine weapons or Astras. For the sake of his wife and son, Drona desired freedom from poverty. Remembering a childhood promise given by Drupada, he decided to approach him to ask for help. However, King Drupada refused to even recognize their friendship, saying friendship was possible only between persons of equal stature in life. As a child, he said, it was possible for him to be friends with Drona, because at that time they were equals. But now Drupada had become a king, while Dronacharya remained a luckless indigent. However, he said he would satisfy Dronacharya if he asked for alms befitting a Brahmin, rather than claiming his right as a friend. Drona went away silently, but in his heart he vowed revenge. Drona decides to continue Parashurama’s legacy by starting his own school. He uproots his family and begins wandering Northern India. While at Hastinapur, he comes across the Kuru princes at play, and is able to use his abilities to help the princes solve some of their problems. Amazed, the princes go to their patriarch Bhisma with news of this magician. Bhishma instantly realized that this was Drona, and asked him to become the Guru of the Kuru princes, training them in advanced military arts. Of all the Kaurava and Pandava brothers training under Drona, Arjuna emerged as the most dedicated, hard-working and most naturally talented of them all, exceeding even Drona’s own son Ashwatthama. Arjuna assiduously served his teacher, who was greatly impressed by his devoted pupil. Arjuna surpassed Drona’s expectations in numerous challenges. As a reward, Drona gave Arjuna mantras to invoke the super-powerful divine weapon of Brahma known as Brahmastra, but told Arjuna not to use this invincible weapon against any ordinary warrior. When Arjuna, inspired by his brother Bhima’s nocturnal eating, mastered archery in absolute darkness, Drona was moved. Drona was greatly impressed by Arjuna’s concentration, determination, and drive, and promised him that he would become the greatest archer on earth. Drona gave Arjuna special knowledge of the divine Astras. Drona was partial especially to Arjuna and Ashwatthama. Drona dearly loved his son Ashwatthama and as a guru, he loved Arjuna more than anyone. A strong criticism of Dronacharya springs from his behavior towards Ekalavya and his strong bias in favor of Arjuna. Ekalavya was the son of a Nishadha chief , who came to Dronacharya for instruction. Dronacharya refused to train him along with the kshatriya princes because Ekalavya was not a kshatriya prince. In addition, Eklavya’s father was a commander of the Kingdom of Magadha, which was ruled by Emperor Jarasandha. At that time, Jarasandha had been building an empire in East-India; relations between Hastinapur and Magadha were rough. Drona feared that Eklavya would have become an unconquerable warrior for a rival army and felt an obligation to defend the land that gave him asylum, even at the cost of teacher-student ethics. Hence Drona rejected the request of Eklavya to be his teacher. Ekalavya began study and practice by himself, having fashioned a clay image of Dronacharya. Solely by his determination, Ekalavya became a warrior of exceptional prowess, with abilities to be better than the young Arjuna. One day, a dog’s barking disturbed a focused Ekalavya. Without looking, Ekalavya fired arrows that sealed up the dog’s mouth.
| Mahabharatam Ep-14 Kripacharya – Dronacharya మహాభారతం-14 (కృపాచార్యుడు – ద్రోణాచార్యుడు) MPlanetLeaf | 19 Apr 2024 | 00:16:37 | |
Kripa, also known as Kripacharya or Krupacharya is an important character in the Mahabharata, one of the eight Chiranjivis. He was the son of Sharadwantha and Jalawathi, born in a particularly extraordinary manner. He along with his sister Kripi were adopted by King Shantanu. Later on Kripa became an acharya, teacher of the royal children, giving him the name Kripacharya. His twin sister Kripi married Drona. Kripa was among the Maharathis who fought on the Kauravas’s side against the Pandavas in the Kurukshetra war in the Hindu epic of the Mahabharata. Along with others, Kripa is considered to be foremost among the rishis in Kaliyuga. Kripa will also become one of the Saptarishi in the 8th Manvantara. Gautama Maharishi had a grandson called Shardwana (or Sharadvanta). Sharadvanta was born with arrows, making clear he was a born archer. As he matured, he became such a great archer, and began doing penance to become an unbeatable one. This threatened the gods, especially Indra. He then sent a beautiful Apsara, Jalavathi, from heaven to distract the celibate saint. Sharadvanta was distracted by the sight of such a beautiful woman and lost some control, dropping his weapons and retreating into the forest to undergo more penance. His semen fell on some weeds by the wayside, dividing the weeds into two – from which a boy and a girl were born. The king of Hastinapura, Shantanu was crossing from there and saw the children by the wayside. One look at them was enough for him to realize that they were the children of a great Brahmin. He named them Kripa and Kripi, and decided to take them back with him to his palace. When Shardwanta came to know of these children he came to the palace, revealed their identity and performed the various rituals which are performed for the children of Brahmins. He also taught the children archery, the Vedas, and other Shashtras. The children grew up to become experts in the art of warfare. Kripa was now assigned the task of teaching the young princes all about warfare. On reaching adulthood, Kripa was the chief priest at the court of Hastinapura. His twin sister Kripi married Drona, the weapons master to the court – who, like her and her brother, had not been gestated in a womb, but outside the human body. He fought in the great battle of Kurukshetra for the Kaurava side. He was one of the three survivors remaining from the Kaurava side. Afterwards, he was appointed to be the teacher and preceptor of Parikshit, the grandson of Arjuna. Drona or Dronacharya or Guru Drona or Rajaguru Devadrona was the royal preceptor to the Kauravas and Pandavas; an avatar of Brihaspati. He is the friend of Guru Sukracharya, the teacher for Asura Mahabali. He was the son of rishi Bharadwaja and a descendant of the sage Angirasa. He was a master of advanced military arts, including the divine weapons or Astras. Since Drona was not born from a womb, but from a vessel made of leaf, he was named ‘Drona’ which means ‘vessel made of leaf’. The story of Drona’s birth is related dramatically to the Mahabharata. Bharadwaja rishi went with his companions to the Ganga River to perform his ablutions. There he was beheld by the beauty of a beautiful apsara named Ghritachi who had come to bathe. The sage was overcome by desire, causing him to produce semen involuntarily out of excitement. Bharadwaja Muni captured the semen in a vessel called Drona, and Dronacharya himself sprang from the semen thus preserved and is the only recorded mythical human being who was created without a female egg (ovum) Dronacharya spent his youth in poverty, but studied Dharma and military arts such as archery, in which he gained expertise, together with the then prince of Panchala, Drupada in the gurukul of Rishi Bharadwaja. Drupada and Dronacharya became close friends. Learning that Parasurama was giving away his possessions to brahmanas, Drona approached him. Unfortunately, Parasurama only had his weapons left.

One day, when Pandu was hunting in the forest, he shot an arrow at a buck who was with a doe. Before dying, the buck (which was actually a rushi in disguise) cursed Pandu that he will die the instant he touches any of his wives. Pandu was shocked but the damage was done. After returning to the hermitage, he narrated the events to his wives. They all agreed to lead the life of ascetics. Pandu regularly recalled the rushi’s curse and felt distressed, and Kunti painfully noticed it. It was then, that she decided to reveal a secret that she had kept close to her heart. Kunti said, “When I was young, Sage Durvasa came to my father’s house. I served the sage devotionally and as a result, the sage blessed me with a mantra through which I could invoke any god I desire to beget a son. The mantra, however, can be used only five times.” Pandu was very happy. There was a way the dynasty could continue after his demise. (Kunti, however, did not disclose to Pandu that she has already used the mantra once. After receiving the mantra, young that she was, Kunti was impatient to test the boon. She did so without giving much importance to the consequences. Dear children, never be impatient and undertake anything in a hurry. Haste is waste ! Kunti invoked the Sun Deity and was blessed with a son wearing earrings and impenetrable armour from birth. At that time Kunti was not married. She immediately realised that the child born out of wedlock would bring infamy to her her family. She was scared of losing her reputation; hence she put the newborn into a basket and set it afloat in the river Ganga. A childless charioteer luckily discovered the basket. He brought up the abandoned child as his own. The child was duly named Karna because he was born with the earrings (karn kundals). But let us see what happens to Karna later on.) Meanwhile, Sage Vyas visited Dhritarashtra and Gandhari took pains to ensure that the sage would have a comfortable time in the palace. Pleased with the reception he received, Sage Vyas decided to confer a boon on Gandhari. The queen asked for a 100 sons who would be as powerful as her husband. The Sage granted the boon and left. In the forest, Pandu requested Kunti to invoke Dharma, the God of righteousness, first. Kunti was blessed with Pandu’s first son Yudhishthir. The news of the birth of first child reached Dhritarashtra and Gandhari. Gandhari was disturbed that despite the Sage’s boon she did not beget sons. She immediately called out to Vyasa rushi and requested him to hasten the birth of her hundred sons. Through his spiritual powers Vyasa did so hundred sons of Dhritarashtra emerged along with a daughter Dushala. Duryodhan was the eldest son while Dushashan was the second. As soon as Duryodhan was born, people began to see bad omens, which they thought would bring misfortune to the great dynasty. (Which turned out to be true! More of that later) Pandu requested Kunti to pray to the Wind God ‘Pavan’, following which Bheem, the second son was born. Indra blessed Kunti with the third son, Arjun. Madri was still childless. Pandu requested Kunti to pass on the mantra to Madri, the second wife of Pandu; so that she can also have a child. Madri invoked the twin Gods, Ashwini Kumar and was blessed with two sons, Nakul and Sahadev. Thus, with the boon received by Kunti, Pandu was blessed with five sons, Yudhishthir, Bheem, Arjun, Nakul and Sahadev. These five worthy children of Pandu were called Pandavas. They grew up strong and well behaved. They learned the art of war games from their able father Pandu. The rushis taught them the Vedas. It was a spring day while Pandu was strolling on the riverside, he saw Madri passing by. Aroused with passion he touched Madri and the rushi’s cuse took effect! Pandu died instantly.

In the Mahabharata epic, Pandu, was the king of Hastinapur, the son of Ambalika and Vyasa. He is more popularly known as the earthly father of the Pandavas, who were called so after him. He was said to be responsible and a great warrior, who expanded his kingdom during his rule. With Vichitravirya having died of sickness, Bhishma unable to take the throne because of his vow, and Bahlika’s line unwilling to leave Bahlika Kingdom, there was a succession crisis in Hastinapur. Satyavati then invited her son Vyasa to impregnate the queens Ambika and Ambalika under the Niyoga practice. When Vyasa approached Ambalika, she got frightened due to his scary appearance, she had become pale in disgust; hence, her son was born pale. Thus Pandu’s name. Pandu was taught in the fields of archery, politics, administration and religion by Bhisma. He was an excellent archer and Maharathi (warrior). He became the successor to his kingdom and was crowned King of the Kuru Kingdom. He was married to Kunti, the adoptive daughter of Kuntibhoja and the daughter of Shurasena (Father of Vasudeva and grandfather of the Hindu god Krishna). Pandu later conquered the territories of the Sindhu Kingdom, Kashi, Anga, Trigarta Kingdom, Kalinga, Magadha, etc., and thus re-established their supremacy over all the kings and increased the span of his empire. He was then married to Madri, the princess of Madra during this military campaign in order to secure the vassalage of Madra. Kunti was the biological daughter of the Shurasena, a Yadava chief. Her birth name was Pritha. Kunti was the sister of Vasudeva, the father of Krishna and shared close relationship with Krishna. Her father gave Kunti to his childless cousin Kuntibhoja. Once Sage Durvasa visited Kuntibhoja. He was extremely pleased by the services and comforts offered by Kunti, and offered her a boon to invoke any god to bear a child. Curious, Kunti invoked the mantra and accidentally bore Karna from Surya, the solar deity. Afraid of being an unwed mother, she placed the baby in a basket and set him afloat on a river. This child was later found and adopted by a charioteer Adhiratha and his wife Radha. While hunting in a forest, (looking from a distance, his vision partially obscured by plants and trees), Pandu saw a couple of deer in the process of coitus, and shot arrows at them; only to find out that it was Rishi Kindama and his wife who were making love in the form of deer. The dying sage placed a curse on Pandu, since he had not only killed them in the midst of lovemaking, but was not remorseful for his action. King Pandu argued with sage Kindama by misquoting sage Agastya’s ruling on the right of Kshatriyas’ on hunting. Sage Kindama then cursed Pandu, the curse being that were he to approach his wives with the intent of making love, he would die. Upset and seeking to repent his action, Pandu renounced his kingdom and lived as an ascetic with his wives. It was during this time that his five children were born. One day, Pandu forgot about this curse and suddenly embraced Madri. At the same time, his curse fulfilled and he died. His dead body was cremated in the forest itself. Madri committed suicide in his funeral pyre through a custom called Sati. In this episode of Mahabharata, everything is explained in easy and understandable Telugu.
