The phoenix represents the liberation that occurs through the alchemical process of internal  heat transmuting matter, releasing energy and creating a fertile field from which new life can spring.

This episode offers an experience of non-sleep deep rest (NSDR), or as is known in the Vedic sciences, Yoga Nidra. Yoga Nidra is the "yoga of sleep".

It supports healing and restoration of the body, while increasing mental clarity, ability to focus, and improving overall mental cognition.

During yoga nidra, your mind experiences deeper states of relaxation, dropping into theta and delta states, while remaining alert and aware of the sound of my voice.

The medicine of yoga nidra feels very relevant right now, as we near the end of a very heated summer. Using this practice to replenish your stores can be really beneficial.

You'll need to set yourself up in a quiet space where you can lay comfortably on your back. After your session is complete,  it can be helpful to take a little time afterwards (3-5min) to contemplate your experiencer, journaling if that feels supportive to you.

This particular script is based on a practice in Tracee Stanley's book, Radiant Rest. I had the pleasure to meet and interview Tracee a few years back. She is an incredible human, guide and teacher. I highly recommend you check her book out if you are intrigued and want to learn more about the power of rest.

The importance of a consistent meditation practice is made amply clear as we look at the remaining astrology for 2021.

In this episode, I discuss insights on the energy of the remaining lunar cycles and how to harness the wisdom from their expression.

As we approach the first of two final eclipses for 2021, we are asked to reflect on the wisdom Jupiter conjunct Saturn in Capricorn has brought to our lives over the last year.  What was your experience of their Grand Conjunction December 21, 2020? 

After the first eclipse, Jupiter will transit into Aquarius, providing a fresh energy and perspective. Saturn remains in Capricorn until April of 2022. (Speaking of April 2022, it packs a punch as 2 of our Master teachers and the eclipse nodes all shift to new constellations. We will want to plan accordingly --- more in future episodes.)
