Orphaned as a young boy and raised by his uncle, Afraig Valmont grew into a giant of a man trying to make a place for himself in the world. When he moved to Black Raven he decided to bill himself out as a problem solver for hire. However when he takes on the problem of a lost dog, he finds his whole world is going to change.

After the revelation in Dr. Johnsons lab, Afraig makes his way home. His respite is short lived when he finds Leslie "Chuckles" Simon, notorious ganster and bank robber, is waiting for him.

Afraig gets one on one time with Detective Sarah Cline after she finds him carrying an unconscious young woman directly into her murder scene.
