Eight articles of impeachment against Pete Hegseth. A widening Iran war. Record pressure at the gas pump. A Congress that left Washington before taking the vote.
This episode examines Representative Thomas Massie’s attempt to impeach Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth over alleged War Powers Resolution violations, civilian casualties, lethal maritime strikes, political retaliation, and military operations involving Venezuela. The articles were introduced, but Hegseth was not formally impeached before the House recessed without voting.
Mitch McConnell’s return to the Senate after a lengthy absence opens a larger discussion about age, transparency, political power, and whether elected officials remain capable of fulfilling their responsibilities. The conversation then expands into Donald Trump’s Iran policy, rising oil and gas prices, the Epstein files, pardons, the 2026 midterm elections, Republican polling, independent voters, affordability, and growing frustration with both major parties.

Why This Matters
War powers mean nothing if Congress refuses to exercise them. Impeachment means nothing if leaders can avoid a vote by leaving town. Rising gas prices, military casualties, and widening foreign conflicts carry real consequences while Washington treats accountability like an optional exercise.
The central question is simple: Which accusation against Pete Hegseth deserves a full investigation, and which members of Congress are willing to defend their position in public?
