On today’s episode we dive deep into the ever-evolving landscape of digital preservation, lost music treasures, and ever increase corporatization digital media. We embark on a journey through the highs and lows of the world of Blu-ray 4K remasters, separating the gems from the dust and what can go wrong – our nostalgia-driven exploration then heads into the enigmatic world of classic cartoons, unearthing forgotten gems like “The Maxx,” “The Head,” “Spawn,” “Aeon Flux,” and “Cybersix.” Join us as we rediscover these animated wonders and reminisce about their impact on pop culture.

"Are you there Lemmy? It's me, vaporwave." Welcome to the Utopia District podcast! On today's episode, Indy, and co-hosts DemoDawg and Crystal Eternal seek to unveil the implications of all the recent tech paradigm shifts and the current reshaping of our digital landscape.
Our discussion looks to address the changes in the online platforms we use every day, like YouTube's adblock enforcement, Twitter's rate limiting, Reddit's API changes, Discord username updates, Meta's Twitter competitor "Threads", Apple Glass, and the rise of federated decentralized social platforms like Mastodon and Lemmy. Join us for a fun and thought-provoking discussion on the potential impact of these transformations on users, content creators, identity, privacy, augmented reality, and the future of social networking. Also, Indy is drunk for this one.

My favorite aspect with this entire medium, whether you call it circuit bending, video bending or glitch art, is that there are no rules, limits or guidelines to follow. It’s limited only by your own imagination, in the sense that you can create something amazing with literal spare parts and any signal. Old media, camera feedback or professionally made custom circuit boards can all hold something beautiful hidden inside. All you need is some patience and the desire to reach out and capture something truly unique in the static.

To me, video art is a lens that translates musical performance into the visual medium, that best amplifies the overall experience. We each perform using our personal gear and our own styles of art, but our purpose within the context of a show is to maximize the impact of the event, and make it even more memorable.
