From the navy to the business world | Anthony Richardson | Unstoppable #11304 Oct 202000:45:15

In this episode of Unstoppable, I speak with former Royal Australian Navy Sailor and founder of AUSFIT and Q83, Anthony Richardson.

After 11 years as a mine warfare specialist, Anthony started manufacturing his fitness product out of necessity. The bars they used for training were too long and required peripherals, like clips and weights. These bars were not designed to be used outdoors and often rusted on the outdoor decks of the ships.

This motivated Anthony to formulate a product that could resolve all these problems; his own version of a torsion bar. He focused on anti-roll capability and portability, but also rust resistance, and the rest is history. His product was a success. They have sold over 10,000 units just in Australia and now sell to the military and gyms in Britain, the USA and New Zealand.

In 2018 Anthony released an independent tool that allows social publishers to create live, interactive media kits for brands and agencies named Q-83, which is now servicing over 100 brands and agencies.

Anthony’s journey as an entrepreneur is a must-listen for anyone looking to build a company through creative problem-solving.

How to produce tasty meat without killing animals | Michael Fox | Unstoppable #11227 Sep 202000:57:21

Can you imagine eating tacos, curry or even a cheeseburger without meat? If you said “absolutely not”, think again, because you’re about to hear how it is possible to enjoy everything that is delicious about eating meat, all without animal products.

In this episode of Unstoppable, I speak to Michael Fox, CEO of Fable Food Co, a company that provides meat alternatives that taste exactly like meat, but without harming animals.

He became vegetarian in 2015 for environmental, health and ethical reasons but didn’t want to give up on the “Steak of Glory”. For this reason, with the help of two mushroom geeks, each on their own journey to make meat-like products for plant lovers, they created food using ingredients that are as minimally processed as possible. These products are based on shitake mushrooms which make up ⅔ of the ingredients used on the list. On top of that, Fable also provides maximum nutritional value, with minimal environmental impact.

Michael is one of three business partners and their company have high certifications in the sciences behind mushroom, permaculture, biodynamics and regenerative farming systems, and biomimicry of fungi. Nowadays, you can find Fable products in popular convenience stores across Australia.

This episode definitely will trigger your curiosity and will make you think about the food choices we make. Whether you’re a vegetarian or not, you can’t miss this one!

Do you know the real power of your brain? | Dr Moran Cerf | Unstoppable #11120 Sep 202000:55:22

Do you know why we laugh at comedian’s jokes? How can someone predict your behaviour from just knowing your friends? Or why the person you love drives you occasionally crazy?

Well, the secret is just one, YOUR BRAIN.

In this episode of Unstoppable, I talk to the neuroscientist and former hacker, Dr Moran Cerf. He is also a business professor at the Kellog School of Management at Northwestern University in the USA. He holds multiple patents and has published over 60 academic papers in journals such as Nature, and has contributed to magazines including Forbes and The Atlantic.  His research uses methods from neurosciences to understand the underlying mechanisms of our psychology, behaviour changes, decision making, and dreams. Much of his research has received widespread attention thanks to his involvement with well-known content channels including PopTech, TED, TEDx, Google Zeitgeist and other venues getting millions of views.

If you’re a marketer, filmmaker, entrepreneur or speaker, and you want to know how your brain works, how to communicate effectively, what makes a good speaker, and even get the secret formula to deliver the perfect presentation without losing people's attention, this is the podcast you need.

How to stop being angry at life | John Kim | Unstoppable #11013 Sep 202000:53:29

Can you imagine being in therapy with a man riding a bike and that calls himself “The Angry Therapist”?

After going through a divorce and experiencing a ‘rebirth’ John Kim started his coaching movement, calling himself “The Angry Therapist”. He built a devoted following who loved his authenticity and transparency by sharing his story, something that therapists are not allowed to do. John became known as an “unconventional therapist” as he started to see his clients at the gym, a coffee shop, or even hikes.

In this episode of Unstoppable, we talk about how to manage anger, the importance of having boundaries in relationships, discuss the touchy topic of “toxic masculinity” and how to bring back masculinity.

From being an angry man for almost 35 years of his life to starting to humanizing therapists, John tells me his story about how “he used to be miserable as f*ck” and how he overcame that.
