You Don’t Have to Fix Yourself Before You Come to Jesus 26 Sep 202600:09:22

What if you’ve been getting it backwards?

Maybe you’ve been waiting to get your life together before coming back to Jesus. Maybe you think you’re too broken, too sinful, too ashamed, or simply too far gone for God to want you.

But Jesus never said, “Fix yourself and then come to Me.”

He said, “Come to Me.”

In Episode 5 of Unfiltered Grace with Shane Forbis, we talk about the heart of the Gospel: grace.

Jesus didn’t wait for us to become clean before He came for us. Romans 5:8 says that Christ died for us while we were still sinners.

We’ll talk about the difference between trying to change so God will love you and allowing God’s love to change you. We’ll look at the story of the prodigal son, the way religion can make people feel unworthy, and why walking away from church doesn’t necessarily mean you’ve walked away from Jesus.

If you’ve ever thought, “God wouldn’t want someone like me,” this episode is for you.

You don’t have to pretend.
You don’t have to clean yourself up.
You don’t have to become somebody else first.

Come as you are. Let grace meet you there.

I DON’T WANT TO ESCAPE THE WORLD ANYMORE | Why I Walked Away From Rapture Theology22 Sep 202600:10:09

What if we’ve become more focused on escaping the world than following Jesus in it?

In this episode of Unfiltered Grace with Shane, I get personal about something I’ve changed my mind about: rapture theology.

I used to see the end times primarily through the lens of getting out of here. But the more I’ve wrestled with Scripture, the more I’ve had to ask a different question:

What did Jesus actually tell us to do while we’re still here?

Jesus didn’t tell His followers to sit around waiting for an escape. He told us to go, make disciples, love people, serve people, care for the broken, and occupy until He comes.

So what if the Christian hope isn’t ultimately about escaping God’s creation?

What if redemption is bigger than evacuation?

What if we’re so focused on asking “When are we leaving?” that we’ve forgotten to ask “What are we supposed to be doing until He comes?”

I don’t expect everyone to agree with me. You don’t have to walk away from rapture theology because I did.

But I do think it’s worth asking the question.

Because I’m not waiting for an escape.

I’m waiting for a King.

And until He comes…

we’ve got work to do.

Welcome to Unfiltered Grace — where we talk about Jesus, grace, faith, and the questions people are sometimes afraid to ask.

Why Are Christians So Obsessed With Hell?19 Sep 202600:13:56

What happens when Christians become more obsessed with hell than they are with Jesus?

In this episode of Unfiltered Grace, Shane Forbis takes an honest look at why hell has become such a dominant part of Christian preaching and conversation. We’ll talk about fear, judgment, grace, the love of Jesus, and what Scripture actually says about the subject.

This isn’t about ignoring difficult passages. It’s about asking whether we’ve sometimes allowed the fear of hell to overshadow the good news of the Gospel.

Grace over religion. Jesus over fear.

No Condemnation. Just Jesus. | Unfiltered Grace — S1 E215 Sep 202600:19:49

What if following Jesus was never meant to begin with condemnation?

In Episode 2 of Unfiltered Grace, we get back to the heart of the Gospel: Jesus.

Not shame.
Not fear.
Not religious performance.
Not trying to earn God’s love.

Grace. Truth. And the relentless love of Jesus.

There is a difference between conviction and condemnation. Jesus doesn’t call us to pretend we’re perfect. He meets us exactly where we are, tells us the truth, and loves us enough to lead us somewhere better.

If you’ve ever walked away from church feeling like you weren’t good enough…
If you’ve struggled to believe that God could really love you after everything you’ve done…
If religion has made you feel condemned instead of welcomed…

This episode is for you.

You don’t have to clean yourself up before you come to Jesus.

Come as you are.

Grace over religion.
Jesus over performance.
Truth without condemnation.

Welcome to Unfiltered Grace.

What If the Gospel Is Better Than You’ve Been Told?12 Sep 202600:17:09

What if the gospel is actually better than you’ve been told?

Welcome to the very first episode of Unfiltered Grace with Shane. This podcast is about getting honest about faith, life, Jesus, people, and the questions we don’t always feel comfortable asking.

In this first episode, I want to introduce myself, explain why I started Unfiltered Grace, and talk about something that has changed the way I see everything: God’s grace isn’t something we earn. It’s something He freely gives.

No religious performance. No pretending. No polished answers. Just real conversations about Jesus, grace, and what it means to actually live free.

Until next time… keep your eyes on Jesus, keep walking in grace, and remember—you are deeply loved.
