Track and Field hasn't evolved much for quite some time. While there is a great product for fans to watch, the production and marketing of events outside of the Olympics or World Championships don't quite match. Making it difficult for fans to consistently engage with the sport.

Following up on Episode 2, where we discussed the IOC ban on all protests - specifically Black Lives Matter. The IOC chose to uphold Rule 50 due to a survey conducted on 3500 athletes, where "70%" were in favour of the ban.
In this BONUS episode we break down the survey, and delve into the sample makeup. Highlighting an obvious bias when examining what sports and countries came out on top.

In the wake of George Floyd's murder, protests and raised awareness surrounding the Black Lives Matter (BLM) movement erupted. Sports organizations worldwide took note and showed solidarity by allowing athletes to peacefully protest without punishment.
However, in April 2021 the International Olympic Committee (IOC) upheld Rule 50, which bans all peaceful protests at the Olympic Games.
In this weeks episode Jade and Anson weigh in on this controversial decision.

Episode 13 - Who's Gonna Be The Sprint Queen?

Coming off of a season where we didn't get to see the Clash of the Titans in the 100m at The Olympics due to Sha'Carri Richarson's drug suspension, we now prepare for another chance at seeing Sha'Carri Richardson, vs. Jamaican powerhouses Elaine Thompson-Herah and Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce and go for the crown of Sprint Queen.
But who's it gonna be this season? Will it be Jamaican Elaine Thompson-Herah who flirted with the 100m World Record a few times last season? Will it be Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce who's the defending World Champion and coming off of a personal best last season? Or will it be Sha'Carri Richardson who missed her chance at the Major Championship last season but will have her chance again this season on home soil? And what other names could arise?
With the sport of Track & Field having the most attractive athletes in all of sport - why isn't it more a part of the marketing?
Here Jade breaks down how the value in this aspect of the sport isn't being capitalized on, and highlights the athletes who are pushing for change.

The defending 100m World Champion Christian Coleman made his return to the Track in a 60m dash at the Millrose Games after his suspension for a whereabouts violation.
He won in a sloppy, yet fast 6.49s.
The questions arise - What would have happened if he went to The Olympics? Will he reassert himself at top of the heap? Who can get in his way?

The Games of the XXXII Olympiad, otherwise known as Tokyo 2020, was originally scheduled to take place from 24 July to 9 August 2020, but the event was postponed in March 2020 as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
With the Olympics finally on the horizon, should the Olympics have ever have gotten this far in the first place, or should it have just been cancelled all together? These are some of the questions we discuss, along with some of the logistics and rules in place to try and make an Olympics happen in a pandemic.
Jade and Anson, also look back at what there time was like competing at the Olympics, and breakdown all the challenges athletes will face to achieve "The Dream" whilst trying to navigate how different and difficult this unique Olympic Games will be.

In arguably the craziest week in in Track & Field history, Jade and Anson unpack all the top stories, astonishing results, the highs, and the lows of a week (or three) filled with drama, and fueled by emotion.
One of the most talked about stories this week was that of Sha'Carri Richardson - US Champion and Olympic gold medal favourite. She tested positive for a prohibited substance soon after winning the US Trials and booking her trip to Tokyo. She subsequently received a one month ban, meaning she will miss the Olympics altogether. The response sent shockwaves through the world of Track & Field - AND BEYOND - making it one of the biggest drugs "scandals" in Track & Field history! What was she banned for? WEED!?!
