The runes spoke, and LN answered. A high-octane, mythology-drenched Viking Metal experience, forged on the Northern shores and built for those who crave sound with soul. Fans of Amon Amarth, Ghost, and Heilung — this one’s for you.
We saw her at Breaking Bands and true to its purpose, we came home with a new favourite band.
This was my daughter Marinas real taste of music and one of her first interviews, the catchy vocals of 'Hangmans Son' beckoned us over and from that moment we became firm lifelong fans. LN's impressive vocal range reminds me so much of Arch Enemy as well as their catchy riffs, perhaps that's why I was drawn to them.
Be sure to check them out, you will not be disappointed.

Struck/Down are a five-piece groove metal band hailing from the heart of Kent. Blending their love of classic groove metal with modern heaviness, they aren’t afraid to pull from a wide range of genres to create a sound that’s entirely their own. Their influences span icons like Black Sabbath, Machine Head, Black Label Society, Gojira, and Lamb of God.
Formed in 2014 as a hard rock outfit, Struck/Down have steadily evolved into the powerful modern metal act they are today. Their debut album Gone dropped in August 2019 to a packed hometown release show, marking the start of their mission to spread their music across the UK. Even the pandemic couldn’t slow them down — in 2021 they released their five-track EP From Demons, keeping their momentum strong.
Now, the band is pushing into new territory. Their upcoming release, To Witches, showcases a faster, heavier, and cleaner sound, fuelled by fresh energy from new members joining the fold.
Be sure to check them out because I had so much fun chatting to them next to their rusty band wagon❤️

Is a registered charity working to give a voice to the silent victims of childhood abuse. The children of yesterday, today, and tomorrow.
In a world where – Children as young as 10 are being groomed by organised gangs and trafficked round the country as sexual commodities...Anyone with a computer and a webcam can create and distribute child pornography across the globe at the touch of a button...
Our aim is to break down that wall of silence, one brick at a time if that is how it must be done. The way we choose to do this is by making a noise, both online and in the real world. Standing up and letting those silenced victims know that they are not alone. That we listened and we heard them. That we will speak up on their behalf, by trying our best to make others understand the long term effects of being a victim of child pornography and sexual abuse, that one way or another an entire lifetime is spent dealing with those effects.
We offer a point of safe first contact for those victims, who may never have been able to talk to anyone about what happened to them, simply done their best to lead their lives as normally as possible. We have a fully qualified counsellor who works with victims in the way best suited to their needs and will do so for as long as the need is there, as well as referring on to other support agencies if required, this is done at no cost to those victims or their families.
Of course it is not just sexual abuse that scars lives and we stand up for ALL victims of abuse, be that physical, mental or emotional, for all those helpless victims who have never been able to tell anyone and for those who have tried and simply not been heard, understood or believed.
So how do we do this?
We attend Rock gigs up and down the country, raising awareness on behalf of the victims and offering a safe and anonymous contact point, as well as offering information on any issues surrounding the subject
We operate a mobile education and information bus that can travel to anywhere needed and offer advice on parental safety programmes, keeping young people safe online, guarding against online grooming, privacy and safety within social network platforms, and offer access to our counsellor.
We operate on the internet where among other things we host a page for our mascots, The Fl’obbles (knitted creations), not only a wonderful fund raiser for our work, but also another safe and anonymous point of contact.
And while we are working on making things better for those already affected by this abuse, our long-term goal is to protect future generations from the dangers of sexual exploitation through education and information. To arm them with what they need to operate in a world where technology is a part of their everyday lives and should be safe for them to use without the fear of falling into the hands of an abuser. Victims and survivors of abuse do NOT want pity, they want help, understanding and to be heard. Surely we can all do our absolute best to give then that.

Me and these guys go back many years and i'm extremely proud to share such a wonderful band from my hometown of stoke On Trent!! I chatted to my good friends Charlie and Scott from Black Coast.
I was extremely keen to chat to them about their Bloodstock Festival performance a few days earlier, and by the sounds of it they had an awesome time! I chatted to Charlie about making ends meet and to allow him to do what he enjoys he works 3 jobs to fund this. There's a common misconception that bands that play lots of gigs make lots of money and this is not the case. Any up and coming band will tell you that it is an extremely costly hobby in terms of travelling to gigs, buying merchandise and then of course you also have the cost of recording albums and making music videos!
This is why it's extremely important that we do all we can to get behind these bands, they are the bands of our future!
Any promoters/festival organisers hit these guys up.. I PROMISE YOU THEY WON'T DISAPPOINT!
P.S Charlie might even trim your hair in return!! How many bands can play a gig and cut your hair all in the same show?

Lets rewind to Sav Fest 2022 where I collared these guys on the stage after their AWESOME performance, I even leant them a £5ver which I did later recover! Blitz!!! Now these guys are a huge part of the music scene, they are fantastic musicians and are absolutely wonderfully kind humans.
We spoke about the importance of reaching out if you are having a bit of a tough time, we chatted about their plans as a band and what we can expect from them and I CANNOT WAIT to see their video they filmed live!!
We also discussed the mysterious stain on the pool table, answers on a postcard as to what it was!!

Isn't it amazing how small the music scene really is? I travelled all the way to The Victoria Bikers Pub for Sav Fest only to bump into a band called Bang Bang Firecracker from my hometown of Stoke On Trent! We had a good old chat about Stoke On Trent and the music scene in general, after a logistic nightmare we had to take refuge in the doorway of the venue which was the quietest place I could find to interview especially as it was torrential rain outside!
See how these lovely lot from Stoke got on in my famous general knowledge quiz!

After getting absolutely drenched interviewing outside I took refuge under the cover of the covered outdoor stage at Sav Fest and chatted to the guys in The Outlaw Orchestra. Not only did I make new friends with these guys we had a right laugh chatting about lots of things including old mens bollocks, gaining weight and their newly named by me their "Prison Break Tour"! We even had a full crowd Sing -a-long in the quiz to thank them for keeping the noise levels down a bit so I could interview.
If you haven't already then don't forget to check these guys out, I promise you that you'll thank me afterwards ive been humming their tunes for days!!

This is a special episode for me as I'm back in the place where my podcast was born, exactly a year ago on the first day of Sav Fest I turned up and Wendy and Alan very kindly let me come in and cover their event...Fast forward a year and I'M BACK! Back with Adam in the EXACT spot we stood when we had our first interview for my podcast...theres just one thing missing....it's very quiet..there are no Hellcats with him!
I love catching up with Adam and I take every chance possible to have a chat with him about his various projects, his life on the road and life in general! I'm honoured to call him a good friend of mine, him and his dad are AWESOME!!!!

This band are well known for a lot of things, most recently they even got Skindred to sign a contract to take them on the three additional dates they added to their UK tour, now that would be awesome!!
I sat down with Ward XVI (16) for those of you rubbish at maths, on a soggy bench in the pouring rain to chat to them at Sav Fest 2023.
This theatrical bunch of rockers will leave you wanting more after each show, their unique performance has allowed them to recruit their ever faithful inmates and if you are lucky you might even get called up to join in their show, think of these as magicians of the music scene.
They are gagging to get out and about and play every venue out there so if you want an immersive stage show as well as being taken on a musical journey then this is the band for you! In 2017 their first chapter was opened and since then they have gone from strength to strength and in 2021 they created the first ever CIRCUS PIT at BLOODSTOCK- I was there and the Sophie Lancaster tent was packed to the rafters and many of the newly recruited inmates were mesmerised by the show.
Have a listen to our chat where they describe their perfect sugar daddy or sugar momma and are actively recruiting...Think you've got what it takes, then get in touch. They talk about their inmates and their journey to get to where they are today and of course many other things, including my famous general knowledge quiz featuring two exclusive sing alongs!
Go show them some love, and if you do then PsychoBerrie might go easy on you with her chainsaw.

Warning- This episode contains at least 50% of Bumhole- As stated by Kev Baker!
With the chance of a heatwave looming this weekend, I thought it was only appropriate to release my chat at Sav Fest with The Hot One Two! Also now known as The Hot One Poo!
Although they aren't responsible for the weather, they certainly left me feeling hot and bothered and exhausted from all the laughing, if you could measure funniness then i'd say the amount was around Ha⁵ ⁶
Exhausts being left in places they shouldn't, D5 you sunk my battleshit, best tv programmes, trips to the toilet mid interview, beer pong and many other topics.
These guys are absolutely awesome and their loveable personalities have multiplied their fan base simply because they take so much time for their fans.
Make sure if you get the opportunity you go and see them at a gig or festival, THEY ARE AWESOME- You have my word!

I'm sure you'll all agree when I say that SKAM are one of the most handsome bands! Not only are they handsome they are extremely hard working, great musicians and great company...They really are the full package. I caught up with them at Sav Fest and we had a lot of catching up to do.
Every band deserves to make it and these are no exception, they are ready...BORN READY they are just waiting for the opportunity to arise. We spoke about the challenges and obstacles faced when trying to progress in the industry. They are one of THE most reliable bands out there, punctual, professional and that was exactly how I described them back in 2016 when I first had the pleasure of meeting them and hosting them at a festival and nothing has changed, except their music has got better and better!
These guys deserve every opportunity available to them, they have worked their way around the country building their fan base!
Please go and show them your support, I promise it means the world to them and any promoters, festival organisers et al. these guys would be a great addition to your line up!

I had the pleasure of chatting to these Good Time Rollers, A.K.A Trident Waters! Sitting outside the Victoria Bikers Pub, Coalville before their set at SavFest we chatted about their plans as a band, what they've been up to since the last time I saw them, we chatted about what they get up to when they aren't on the stage and life in the big smoke! Aren't they just wholesome human beings, I could have chatted to them ALL night. We even had a little sing along of a few well known songs! Listen now to find out which band member has an "Anaconda"!!
If you haven't already I urge you to check these guys out!

I go back years with this band, they played our very own Lostock Festival back in 2017 and from that moment I knew as a band they would be going places! We talk about how hard it is in the music industry in terms of competition and how important it is to support bands by buying merchandise at gigs etc. We spoke about the importance of supporting local venues and helping to keep live music alive and how wonderful it is when you have great hospitality at gigs from the venues.
FLEISCH are campaigning to represent the UK in the EUROVISION so lets get behind them and show them some support!

Dead Man's Whiskey, this band were arguably one of THE CLEVEREST bands that I've ever had the pleasure of interviewing on my podcast. It's always an honour to catch up with them and they are definitely a band that are on to BIG things, they have a wonderful fan base and its hardly any surprise because the way they engage and look after them is second to none.
Nico is one of the only singers I know that can reduce the audience to tears in record time and then gets them rocking out straight after, incredible. Make sure you support his podcast The Tiny Bookcase, I promise you it is very addictive!!

It was absolutely fantastic to catch up with the guys in Black Lakes at SOS Fest! After chatting to them earlier on in the year over zoom it was fantastic to finally meet them all in person. We chatted about their pledge campaign, Blacklist Broadcast and their new album which I touched....Watch this space for the release as its definitely one I can't wait to hear. See how they got on in my general knowledge quiz!!

Listen up #Sqwildings have I got an episode for you?! After being unable to catch them at SOS Fest after they lost their van keys, I have FINALLY managed to catch up with these elusive woodland fairytale creatures at SAV FEST!!
We even had the Overseer Beckie (Their Manager) join in which was a really nice touch because often these are the ones who get forgotten about!....NOT ON MY PODCAST THEY DON'T!!
Back in 2022 they were Prog Magazines "Best Unsigned Band" and from then on when Lucy placed in the Top 10 Female Vocalists we knew they were a band to watch. After winning their Manchester M2TM Final there is no stopping this band as they go from strength to strength! They are playing the New Blood stage at Bloodstock 4:30 on Friday August 11th!!! If you haven't already then PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE check them out and make sure you are in that tent early because something tells me it's gonna be a tight squeeze!
If you haven't laughed for a while then I definitely recommend you have a listen to our chat, we talk about everything from chess boards to Disney , from clouds to identifying trees, bad tattoos and everything in between.
You may even come away from listening to this podcast with some new words to add to your vocabulary #Fanily #Cretching just to name a few and YES these words are fully copyrighted to Square Wild Ltd in case you were wondering.
GO AND CHECK THESE GUYS OUT, I PROMISE YOU WILL THANK ME FOR IT after there's a big square shaped hole in the roof of the NEW BLOOD tent after they have blown a massive hole in it!!

Now this band I've been tracking down for AGES but we just hadn't managed to get round to it, when I saw they were announced for SAV FEST I had to chat to them!
THEIA, These brothers now how to entertain and put on a great performance. Their songs aiming to break the stigma that is associated with mental health and life struggles, they are advocates in supporting and positively improving wellbeing and mental health. I've had the pleasure of knowing them since 2016 if not earlier and they are a staple part of the music scene, they have been patient but now it's time for them to have their big break. During the peak of the COVID pandemic they wrote a song called "Blue Heart" in order to support all the NHS staff, they reached out at numerous points in that horrendous time and just wanted me to know that they were there for me! Diabetes UK is always close to their hearts as Kyle openly talks about his struggles of managing this invisible illness.
Their kindness and positivity radiates at any event that are lucky enough to have these on their line up. These guys deserve the world and their songs speak for themselves, check them out and especially check out their new track "Only The Wet Die Young" It’s a song on the dark side of dumb - pool party vibes for people with sad minds!

Back where it all began, I'm back at SAV FEST 2023!! Helping to raise money for such a fantastic cause Ian's Chain, in memory of Ian Savill. Not only have I been welcomed back with open arms, I have also been made a patron of the charity which I am so unbelievably proud to announce.
SAV FEST each year has gone from strength to strength, and this year it was it's 10 year anniversary!! What a line up and what an awesome time was had by all who flocked in their masses to support this great event.
I managed to finally chat to Wendy on the closing night of the festival, courtesy of half an umbrella keeping the rain off us...well as best as it could!
We spoke about the charity, the festival and Wendy also offered advice and guidance for anybody out there struggling. Have a listen to our chat and if you can please donate via the link below to support this wonderful cause and help us save lives together!

Everybody is familiar with The 6 p's : Proper Preparation Prevents Piss Poor Performance unless your name is Peter, he found out the hard way!!
I had the pleasure of chatting to Arms To Oblivion who are playing the New Blood Stage on Friday 11th August!!! Exactly a week today, doesn't time fly when you are having fun?
They have teamed up with Speed Bird Print & M2TM Essex boss Ian Manning and have created 30 pretty amazing one off pink T-Shirts in memory of Sylvia Lancaster, pink was her favourite colour!! They will be on the S..O.P.H.I.E stand and once they are gone THEY ARE GONE!!!!! Make sure you get there early as these are strictly first come first served!
If you get chance before Bloodstock be sure to give their latest album DEFCYLION a listen and please try and work out what it means? I have absolutely no idea, someone please put me out of my misery!!!

Hailing from Bristol this band need no introduction, I had the pleasure of chatting to Finn and Harry from Embodiment!!! This Technical Death Metal band are certainly one of the more well known bands on the Bloodstock line up this year. They are playing the Sophie Lancaster stage on Sunday 13th August!
Now, It has to be said that Finn definitely has one of the nicest voices and I could listen to him on repeat for hours! I even recommended he go into making audio books, I reckon he'd make a fortune! And ladies, I went there, I asked him and YES he's SINGLE!!! Listen in to find out what his perfect woman would be! Oh and if the suns out next weekend he has a tendency to get a bit crispy so get the sun cream on standby for all the areas that he can't reach!
Harry treated me to an on the spot pig squeal, so those of you at Bloodstock listen out and get running to the Sophie tent when you hear that squeal, it's definitely a performance not to be missed!
I don't usually do quizzes via zoom due to the risk of cheating, but theses guys promised me they'd play fair and they didn't do too bad!

I'm so honoured to be writing this HEADPRESS ARE FINALLY GOING TO BE PLAYING BLOODSTOCK!
For many bands the chance to play Bloodstock is AMAZING but even more so to these best mates from Stoke who after many years of narrowly missing out on winning their final of M2TM, won it last year but had to pull out of Bloodstock last minute due to personal reasons. As we all know that in life you cannot pour from an empty cup so its vital that you put yourself and your family first where needed and that's exactly what these guys did and in their words "It was no question", It takes courage to make that decision but they are from Stoke and we drink Courage for breakfast, usually in a Wetherspoons at 8am in the morning.
When Simon Hall contacted them and asked if they wanted to play this year they of course bit his hand off....not literally though, I can confirm that Simon has still got both of his hands at the point of writing this!
We chatted about their long standing music career which spans over 20 years!!!! And their friendship over the many years and of course a shout out to our mutual friends Tammy and Kirk, who are big supporters of the live music scene! We even chatted about my friend Kevin losing his car at Download and how me and his wife Georgina had to navigate a shitty wood on the years hottest day all in the name of friendships- We found his car for any of you wondering!! I have so much time for these guys they are simply wonderful human beings and every inch of me (which isn't many) is proud of them!!!! GO SMASH IT!!!

Although this band aren't playing Bloodstock this year, I had the pleasure of chatting to Kieran, lead singer of the band DeathCollector. In fact I'd go as far as saying they are the most child friendly death metal band, but you'll have to listen in to find out why?!!!
He talked me through his career touching on Ashen Crown, Grimorte and DeathCollector! His passion for graphic design and the time he has never lived his meme down. He gave his tips and tricks of making it in a band and at what point you have to admit defeat and move onto different avenues!
Kieran will be attending Bloodstock so keep your eyes peeled for him and go and give him a hug from me!

I had the pleasure of interviewing Tilly, who has broken the internet the last few weeks since the release of her debut song "Best Breakup Ever" which has had 861,460 views in just 3 weeks!!! In fact, it's not just a song it's an anthem every person, from every walk of life at some point in their life can relate to!
We spoke about not fitting in at school when growing up and how that in itself fuels the passion and determination to spread the message that is ok not to fit in. Having grown up in a live music venue and being from a musician family Tilly eats, sleeps and breathes music-LITERALLY!
For anybody that has ever been bullied for being different this one is for you, YOU ARE NOT ALONE!!

I had the pleasure of chatting to them about their upcoming performance at Bloodstock, they are playing the New Blood Stage on Saturday 12th August and they have assured me that it's a set not to be missed! I wonder if it has sunk in yet that they have made it onto the festival line up!

I caught up with King Kraken at SOS Fest. Daddy Kraken and his tentical feelers provided me with an afternoon of pure comedy, we had so much fun in this interview! We talked about their journey as a band, we spoke about their giant tenticals on the stage, how they deal with long drives to and from gigs and general nonsense. Adam also tried to out banter me but he soon got it back haha!
I opened up about the time I shit myself on the way home from Egypt when I was younger, going on a plane for the first time and everything in between.

As most of you are probably aware by now Imogen and James "Ducky" Duckworth are having a tough time after having the rug pulled from under their feet. Their studio that they have worked hard to make their own has been taken from them. They are suddenly without an income, without a place that they have worked hard for.
I spoke to Imogen who gave me the low down on what's been going on, we spoke about UGLY CLUB which is a club that everyone can join ,a club with no judgement and a club where you can be yourself!

Every person on this planet has the right to feel empowered, Every person on this planet should be allowed to feel comfortable in their own skin. Much like a flower, every body blooms a bit differently. But are all glorious in their own right! There is no doubt that if I ever had to go into battle, I'd do so "On Wings Of Steel"
I spoke to Gemma who flew the flag to celebrate body confidence on behalf of her band mates, as an advocate for the LGBTQ+ Community and to empower women all over the world just like Lizzo does each and every time she performs! "Anyone attending our gig we want to make feel safe, we try and make all our fans feel like a family" A bold statement which is backed up by their solid performance, creating a safe space for people from every walk of life to hang out and them spending time with their flock of fans queueing next to their merch after every gig!
We chatted about lots of stuff in this episode, and if you are wondering YES!! She did get Taylor Swift tickets, her manifestation did work!!
Have a listen, I hope you like it!

I spoke to Parilla Uk, THE ORIGINAL PARILLA!! It's still not clear what the man behind the mask looks like, I spoke to their lead singer Dani who introduced me into his world of aesthetics!
Once we cleared the elephant in the room up, the current issue they are facing having another band with the same name, we decided that the world would be a far better place if people didn't act like a dick!
We spoke about influences and also chatted music in general!
Have a listen, I hope you like it.

I thought it was only fair to quiz 3 of the nicest men in the music industry, Martin Short, Jason Samuels and David Wilson. They all took part in my general knowledge quiz, up in the depths of the press area at SOS Festival. Often reviewers, togs, interviewers, promoters go unnoticed in the depths of our venues and I thought it was only right to include them and to give them a big shout out for all the contributions they have, and continue to make to supporting our live music scene! See how they got on in my general knowledge quiz!

I'm known for my ability to conduct interviews almost anywhere and this one was no exception. I had the honour of being invited to SOS Festival held at Whittles At Tokyo, Oldham. Not only is this a fantastic venue it is also surrounded with a plethora of reasonably priced car parks to choose from, great for those driving and/or worrying about where to park!
I had the absolute pleasure to accompany Thieves Of Liberty to their car via a cobbled side street where I held them captive whilst I chatted to them about future album plans, upcoming gigs and most importantly where they got their silky, soft shirts from! P.S I can confirm they are as soft as they look....The shirts that is!

I had the pleasure of catching up with Ryan and Lewis that make up 2/3rds of Sleep in Motion. Ever wondered the reason behind the name? In this episode we reveal all!
They have an album due for release towards the end of the year, November 10th to be precise and their album launch party is at Rough Trade, Nottingham so be sure you get down and show them some support!
Now, any person that likes cats automatically becomes a friend of mine and Ryan instantly got added to that list, especially when he made friends with a cat called Jasper on holiday. Have a listen to our interview to hear the full extent of 5* treatment Jasper got from room #592!

I had the pleasure of chatting to JAYLER at Breaking Bands. JAYLER are a hard hitting energetic young rock band from the Midlands that produce a full on energetic rock set that always leaves the crowd screaming for more.
It took me ages to get to these guys, I had to contend with their never ending merch queue and plethora of fans flocking round them. Hardly surprising though? They are such lovely, humble guys and I overheard many people say that they were their favourite band of the festival-What an achievement!!
Relatively newish onto the music scene, they have certainly established a place on many festival line ups and recently even supporting Kira Mac on their recent tour.
We chatted about their experience so far and the fun they are having, I could have chatted to them all day but they had to get back to their adoring fans, whose ages ranged from young children to the elderly.
I can't wait to catch up with these guys in a few months to see where they are up to, the Skys the limit and the worlds your oyster, if you haven't already checked these guys out then please do!!

Storming onto the scene are this powerful rock trio MuddiBrooke! I've had these on my radar for months and finally I managed to catch up with them at SOS Fest!
Hailing from Derby, no line up is complete without them! I'm sure most of you will have seen them a number of times as they are a staple addition to any festival line up and they have a plethora of fans that follow them.
There's just one venue they need to play and that is Nottinghams Rock City, so if there are any bands out there that are after a supporting band when playing this venue, catch them whilst you can because one day, in the near future I am POSITIVE that they will be on that stage and hopefully headlining it!
Easy to talk to, good fun and not to mention such talented musicians these really are the full package!

Part of interviewing bands is picking your opportunity wisely, this is exactly what I did with Star Circus. Fresh from the stage at Eleven, they gave me the nod to join them in their dressing room which was situated just behind the stage. However there was just one problem, Midnite City were on in 15 minutes so we had to organise our time and use it accordingly!
Crammed into the tiniest room above the stage, we talked about the band members Doppelgängers, their hidden talents and one band members unique ability to play an instrument with something other than his hand....!
And I even made it back down with seconds to spare through the door, where Miles and the rest of the Midnite City gang were waiting patiently to enter the stage!
What.A.Night!!

I caught up with Midnite City at Eleven on the eve of their album launch "In At The Deep End". Every show is special, but this one in particular is even more so as it's Josh "Tabbie" Williams hometown show. For those of you that don't know, Josh is one of my long serving childhood best friends and every time I watch him perform, I'm really proud of how far he has come from his early career days.
Midnite city have racked up fans all around the world and after embarking on a Japan and Australian Tour their fan base is rapidly growing.
Since their self titled first album way back in 2017 they have smashed onto the music circuit and right now after their album release, they are a force to be reckoned with!
See how they got on with my general knowledge quiz!
P.S Star Circus were sound checking during the interview, so if you like what you hear check them out in the next episode

I caught up with Craig McBrearty of GUTLOCKER and we chatted about his Chloroform video that went viral back in the day, we chatted about the music scene and GUTLOCKER, what they have planned.
Craig tells me about his trick to get people to watch the bands and how to stop them from congregating outside the venue. He talks about their tour and life on the road!
Listen to our chat if you want a guaranteed laugh!

Hailing from Manchester 40,000 Leagues certainly know how to grab your attention. If they aren't repeatedly punching you in the face with their face breaking riffs then they most likely chatting to their ever faithful fans. If you are into your metal bands but haven't come across these yet, you need to give your head a wobble and ask yourself why?! Most recently some of you might have seen them at the M2TM Semi Finals at Rebellion a few months back where they narrowly missed out on getting through to the final! We caught up at Breaking Bands Festival and put the world to right!
Last week, Satans Hollow invited them along to open their new Battle of The Bands competition, and just like glitter....you are suddenly finding them everywhere!
It's lovely to see their hard work is starting to pay off and although they just missed out in the M2TM Final I'm sure it won't be long before they earn a slot at Bloodstock off their own merit, hard work and dedication!
I had a right good time chatting to them and I look forward to seeing where they are this time next year.

Spectral Darkwave are a symphonic death, doom metal band! Their performance takes you on a journey to outer space and beyond. Rumour has it that if you close your eyes during their set you are immediately teleported to a different universe, immersing yourself into a cosmic journey, far, far, away!
We chatted at Breaking Bands about their band name and where it came from, their individual roles in the band and who keeps the peace when all hell breaks loose, in terms of decision making. We chatted about their live album, 85 Club Hitchin and how they found their tribe of likeminded people to share this ride that is life!
If you haven't already then go and check them out, they are thoroughly lovely guys and always go out of their way to make time for you, which in a busy world is pretty rare these days!

What better place to interview the guys in Voltstorm, than on a hill overlooking Stoke Prior, the venue that very kindly hosts Breaking Bands Festival year after year!!
Formed in 2019 these musicians certainly know their way around the scene having played in many other bands over the years, although a relatively new project they are definitely a band not to be missed. I know people say it's not about the size but to these guys, size really does matter when it comes to drum kits, Ivo has a massive drum kit! Oh, and DO NOT TOUCH Ivo's gear as HE WILL BITE YOU haha!

Everybody has their favourite band, the one band whose songs they can relate to, songs that no matter what can pull you out of really dark holes....Blue Nation do exactly that, not only are they absolutely awesome musicians, they are very good friends of mine and I have so much time for them.
Kindness is few and far between these days but having seen these guys play many times it is clear by their following just what kind men they are, going above and beyond for their fans affectionately referred to as "Blue Meanies". Ambassadors for mental health, they are known to speak openly about their own personal challenges and re-iterate the message that its ok not to be ok, but reach out...you aren't alone. Their poignant, catchy songs often latch on in your mind and hopefully replace negative thoughts, that will have you humming their songs for days!
Echoes became a personal favourite of mine since I first discovered them at Breaking Bands Festival 2022, as soon as I heard the opening chords of this song acoustically immediately I knew that this band had something special. Goosebumps, lump in my throat and I even shed a tear by the end of their set, the raw emotion they put into their set captured me and it's not very often a song can have such a big impact on me.
I hope you enjoy this episode, I certainly did!

There's not many bands around that can celebrate their 35th anniversary on the music circuit, however Paradise Lost can! Formed in 1988, hailing from Halifax who knew that way back when, whilst in class studying Paradise Lost the poem together they would later become pioneers of the death-doom genre and paving the way for the Gothic-Metal movement! I caught up with Aaron Aedy at Uprising Festival who very kindly gave up his time too sit and chat to me about the band, how they all met and his turbulent song when flying! He also fared quite well in my general knowledge quiz! 16 albums later and they are still going strong, catch them on tour NOW!

We often see a festival advertised but don't actually know much about them. I had the pleasure of catching up with Harry White who is the Managing Director of Hammerdown Festival.
Taking place at The Factory, Worthing on 29th & 30th July Hammerdown is a festival not to be missed. What makes this festival even more special, it is made up of bands the Harry likes and if you manage to get a ticket soon you could also get a Branded Beer/T-Shirt bundle..But hurry they are in limited stock.
If you want a man that actions his ideas, makes plans on paper happen then here he is!
Make sure you go down and support this fantastic festival, let's do our bit to help keep the music scene alive!!

I caught up with Voidwalker exactly a year ago when they won Metal2The Masses @ Uprising. What a year it has been for them, they released their latest album The Slow Decay in March and if you haven't already checked it out then you absolutely must!
There's so much still to come for this band and its lovely to see their hard work paying off. As always they were very excited to take part in my general knowledge quiz, these were one of, if not THE cleverest band from Uprising last year, have a listen to see how they got on.

I am gonna give a massive shout out to CrostPaths who actually arranged this interview for me at Breaking Bands Festival!
After we had finished chatting they collared me and asked me to interview an awesomely friendly band, low and behold Spyder Byte arrived into my office (ok, a seating booth in the beer garden haha)
If you want a really energetic band that give their all to their performances then these are the ones for you HOWEVER be sure to spell their name right "Y's instead of I's" they made a point in telling me during the interview and for goodness sake, do not mention spiders in their company!! We chatted about lots of stuff and to be honest I could have chatted to them all night!!
Check them out they are so friendly and personable and I instantly felt like I'd know them for years!

"You look like a children's colouring book!!" This was my opening compliment to this elusive band, I have been trying to track them down for AGES to host them on my podcast.
Well finally on a nice warm, sunny day at Breaking Bands Festival I managed to hold them captive for half an hour whilst we talked all things Crostpaths, they talked me through the name which has a few meanings as you'll get to know after listening to this hilarious interview. Not only are they extremely talented musicians, very colourful characters, i'm sure they are comedians in disguise.
I didn't want this interview to stop, we could have chatted all night!!! Anyway, have a listen to our nonsense rambles and also about when one of them got vomited on at Slam Dunk Festival!!!

I had a wonderful time at Breaking Bands Festival, this is one of my favourite festivals and I'm proud to have shared the journey with the team over the years watching it grow. It's already broken even for this year and has sold enough tickets to cement its place on the calendar for next year-A scaled back version like the good old days to celebrate its 9th chapter!
I had the absolute honour to catch up with "Planet Fatale" who I actually met at last years event, we just randomly got chatting so it was lovely to interview them for my podcast!
Helen talked me through their new album, which I'm so excited for and the plans they have for the future! We chatted about how they came up wit the band name, song names and their struggle to narrow down what songs are to appear on their new album. They also run through some of the up and coming gigs they have lined up.
There's a prize for anybody who can guess how many festival wristbands Helen has round her wrist, it's a very impressive collection may I add!!!
