A New Tactic for Local Political Activity With David Tucker18 Mar 202500:59:21

Six years ago, T.REX ARMS managed to get a state ammunition tax repealed. Ever since, we've had a lobbyist working on 2A legislation every year. However, a small group of Tennesseans have taken the lessons learned from that first ammo tax fight and spun up a separate lobbying effort that had a surprising level of success. This is their story.

15 Days of Trump - Speed, Surprise, and Violence of Action04 Feb 202500:34:34

In the first two weeks, the new administration has taken a perfectly normal course of action, such as new appointments, new executive orders, and executed it very quickly. However, they have combined this expected action with an unprecedented level of cost-cutting. Billions of dollars of grants, contracts, programs, and other spending have already been canceled, leaving entrenched bureaucrats scrambling to find an effective response.

History of the ATF 3: Doubling Down on Disaster21 Jan 202500:34:48

After the horror of Ruby Ridge and the brutality of Waco, you might expect the newly elected Clinton Administration to blame their predecessors and walk back some of the abuses of the ATF. Instead, they launched an comprehensive coverup campaign, commended the Waco commanders, and rammed through a new Assault Weapons Ban. How did they get away with it?

History of the ATF - Part 1: How Prohibition Built the Bureau31 Dec 202400:29:37

This is a video on the T-Rex lab channel, but due to the number of requests, we're also posting it here for easier listening.

The actions of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives don't get as much attention as they should, but most people are generally aware of their recent history. However, to get a better understanding of how they developed as an enforcement agency, we have to go back to their first assignment. This will be a multi-part examination of where the ATF came from, and where they should go.

How to Build a Future-Proof Manufacturing Industry10 Dec 202401:09:56

We've been talking a lot about American manufacturing tools and technologies over on the T.REX LABS channel, but there's a lot more to it than just the hardware. Today we've got an international guest giving us his perspective on our manufacturing strengths and weaknesses.

Hostile Ideologies in Movies and Video Games03 Dec 202400:52:52

Creativity in film, television, and other fictional media seems to be at a pretty low ebb in the 21st century. Isaac and Ryan talk about their experiences in the film industry, and why some of the trends are not mere laziness but hostile ideologies at work. In some ways this is more dramatically visible and consequential in the video game space.

What Happens After the 2024 Election Sweep06 Nov 202400:31:38

The 2024 election night upset was a red wave for the presidency, State governors, the Senate, and possibly the House. It wasn't an overwhelming landslide but it was a comprehensive failure of Democratic politicians and the mainstream media as a whole. Let's walk through some of the most interesting points and what they mean.

Why To Get Involved in Local Politics with Jody Barrett29 Oct 202401:08:03

We are days away from one of the most heated presidential elections in American history. However, there's a lot more on the ballot than just the president. Incompetent People are Threatened by Competence03 Sep 202400:44:10

Conflict comes from division, and division can be created along many lines. Geography, heritage, color, or possessions... Marxism, for example, always tries to divide between the haves and the have nots, the oppressors and the oppressed. But there is another metric that usually gets ignored until the gap is too wide to be bridged.

Weaponized Justice with Paul Vaughn27 Aug 202400:58:36

A common theme of the current Democratic party messaging is an urgent need to stop Donald Trump from regaining the White House and weaponizing the DOJ against his political enemies. However, it is obvious that the executive branch has already been weaponizing agencies against political enemies of the DNC. Today's guest on the show is Paul Vaughn, a long time T-Rex friend and ally, who has had direct personal experience with this kind of political intimidation through our own enforcement agencies. You can learn more about his story from his articles on Substack, and the Stifled Cry podcast.

The End of the World - with C.R. Wiley21 Aug 202400:32:21

There's a lot of conversation about the end of the world, the end of civilization, and the end times at the moment, and this conversation, even amongst non-Christians is shaped by Christian eschatology that has seeped into out culture. C.R. Wiley joins us to break down three historical views of a future apocalypse that have a big impact on how people think about current affairs, foreign policy, and future events.

C.R. Wiley has written a number of books and can be heard on the weekly Theology PugCast discussing topics like these.

August Tyranny Update13 Aug 202400:30:31

The UK has cracked down on anti-immigration protests and "armchair thugs," which is newspeak for people who post memes on the internet. The Police Chief of the London Met has even threatened to extradite American memers who have violated UK hate speech laws so that they can face the crown's judgement.

Meanwhile, in the free-speech-loving USA, the legacy media has created a Kamala Harris presidential campaign out of whole cloth, and have shut Donald Trump out of almost any coverage. When millions of people listened to him having an unscripted conversation with Elon Musk on X last night, journalists and news outlets panicked that he was making an end-run around the "appropriate channels" to speak directly to citizens.

According to Open Source Defense yesterday, "Tyranny is here, it's just not evenly distributed."

How Cultural Institutions Get Compromised 06 Aug 202400:33:50

If you look at recent American History, you can see some amazing technical successes, some incredible economic achievements, but also an unmistakable trend of cultural decline in some institutions. Have our academic bulwarks, entertainment studios, and political entities gotten this bad by accident? Or on purpose? Let's have a look at a single institution that is being infiltrated in real-time: the American church.

The book that we are discussing is "Shepherds for Sale" by Megan Basham, which documents how liberal think-tanks and NGOs have been funneling money into conservative seminaries and denominations, and what they are getting for their money.

The Creepiest Dystopian Thriller You've Never Heard Of11 Jun 202400:44:55

The early 21st Century is a good time to be thinking about cyberpunk dystopias. Fictional dystopian worlds (and attempted Utopian ones) are interesting thought experiments that have an effect on the populations that read them. 1984 and Brave New World have shaped political discourse in the real world to a substantial degree. But you probably want to be aware of one of the least known and least discussed dystopian novels in recent history. Its obscurity is almost as disturbing as its creepy, all-powerful computer-controlled government. Also, you should be aware of some real-life utopian experiments that have been attempted in the past. Very thought provoking: https://www.honest-broker.com/p/is-silicon-valley-building-universe

Strange Night Vision Devices of the Present and Past with Nick Chen04 Jun 202400:58:10

Night vision has been one of the most magical and mysterious capabilities fielded by many militaries over many decades. However, times have changed, and Gen 3 night vision is now pretty commonplace for soldiers and civilians alike. PVS-14s and PVS-31s are the Glocks of night vision devices, and yet there are many more strange and esoteric ways to see in the dark then you can possibly imagine. Nick Chen both collects and documents the capabilities of some of the world's rarest goggles and observational tool, and he shows us some in this conversation.

We also go down a bit of a rabbits trail involving data preservation methods, personal servers, and AI-generated Muppet war. This episode is something of a follow-up to the T.Rex Labs video on digital libraries.

Fighting Anti-Gun Laws in Court with the Armed Scholar22 May 202400:30:15

Anthony Miranda of the Armed Scholar YouTube channel joins us to talk about the current state of Second Amendment court cases. As an attorney, Anthony has been involved in many kinds of legal battles, served in many different roles, and is currently a plaintiff in a lawsuit filed against the state of California. What is going on during this election year, and what happens next?

True Greatness - with Dr. Ben Merkle17 May 202400:54:26

There are a few parallels between modern America and the kingdom inherited by Alfred the Great. It was crumbling from within, besieged from without, and poised at the crossroads between greatness and oblivion. How did this unexpected king build the foundations that England and the United States still rest on? And how does he stack up against the pantheon of other Great military leaders in history?

Book Review: "Gun Country: Gun Capitalism, Culture, and Control in Cold War America"09 May 202400:42:04

Author Andrew McKevitt's book Gun Country posits that America's unique love for guns appeared in the late 20th century, growing out of a love of cheap WWII surplus arms, Cold War commie fear, and 1960s race riots. Is it this simple? And is his description of "gun capitalism" a helpful way to talk about the Citizen Defense Industry?
