Don't be fooled into thinking all the travel deals happen in the shoulder seasons. While there are cheaper times to travel, you can still find some gems if you have to travel during the busy seasons. Here's a breakdown of how we spent Christmas in Porto, Portugal and Vigo, Spain for under $2000.

We used Going and got an alert for our flights
Our Marriott Account and Capital One Venture X paid for our hotels (all but $50)
Our bus/train ticket from Porto to Vigo and back again was $40 a piece. 
Pair those savings with the fact that Porto and Vigo are not expensive destinations in general and you have a week filled with Michelin restaurants, port wine tours and Christmas markets that won't break the bank.

Travel Hack Update 2023

If you think travel hacking takes years to payout with free flights, hotel nights and extra perks, think again! We’ve spent over 100 hours researching and testing travel hacks to bring you our first full year in review on today’s travel hack update. 

Full disclosure: we started really looking into travel hacking in May of 2022, but it does take a while to hit bonuses, find new cards, etc., so 2023 is our first full year of hacking and here’s how it went!

• The History- Memphis has a complicated past but this city continues to grow and learn. Stand in the studio used by Elvis and the million dollar quartet or take a moment of reverence at the National Civil Rights Museum. 
• The Music- Memphis is constantly buzzing with live music. The most popular music you'll find here is the blues and you can find it around every corner in the downtown district around Beale Street.
