Keegan and Jack revel in a vital victory as Newcastle got back to winning ways at a soggy St James’ Park for the first time since mid-December.

The Magpies clicked into gear and looked somewhere close to their best, with the high press back and implementation of a ruthless counter-attacking game, which saw them prevail 3-0 despite seeing less of the ball than their opponents.

It was a first clean sheet in 11 league games as the defence provided the base for a key win as Howe’s men look to push towards a European spot. The lads look at some big performances from players who have struggled of late or who have been stuck in the treatment room.

Can this result kick start the Magpies’ season in a similar way that victory over Wolves did last season? Time will tell, but finally there are some reinforcements available from the bench and reasons to be cheerful as we look ahead to the run in.

Mark and Jack try to make sense of a crazy game at St James’ Park, as Newcastle lead twice but have to come back from two goals down to salvage a 4-4 draw against a spirited Luton Town.

It was a wonderful game for the neutral but not so much for the Toon Army as some familiar defensive failings came to the fore. We ask what Howe can do to stop the team shipping goals, and whether his loyalty to players is costing the team.

There was finally some good news on the injury front as Harvey Barnes returned after four months out with a big goal. Lewis Miley continues to show promise and Howe's men have started scoring goals with regularity. However, there was more injury woe as Anthony Gordon left the stadium in a moon boot.

We analyse what this ludicrous game means for the season as a whole and where the Magpies go from here.
