#350 - Does the loyalty pricing model work or fail?26 Aug 202400:28:46

As a service-based industry, it is really easy to focus on the feels and the vibes because we are in this pressure cooker of an economy, and we start to make emotional decisions that are not good for business. I sat down to record this episode in urgency, because I want everyone to take a step back and really check the math on a piece of advice that has been going around Instagram about using a loyalty pricing model.

This is a new pricing strategy that could be incredibly detrimental to your income, so I want to work through a number of different scenarios so that you really know what’s happening if you decide to use a system like this in your business!

Do you have a question for me that you’d like answered in a future episode? A great way to do that is to head over to Apple Podcasts and leave a rating and review with your question. I'm looking forward to answering your question on a future episode on the podcast!

#349 - How to grow as an employee stylist19 Aug 202400:26:08

Today’s episode is inspired by a message I received from an incredible Thriving Stylist podcast listener who is asking for guidance on how to build and grow her career as a commission-based stylist, while not having complete control over her career.

As a stylist, I know that you want to grow, and you need to be in an environment where growth is supported. When you’re in this type of environment you’ll be in the driver seat of your career and in control of your future, and when you’re successful, the salon owner is too - it’s a win-win partnership!

Today we’re looking at Afterpay, a new payment processor that has taken Australian shoppers by storm with more than one million customers and almost five million transactions being made on the Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) platform since its launch in 2015. In this episode, I reveal what Afterpay is, how it works, and the ways it can impact your business and your clientele.

As you’ll hear, I don’t think that Afterpay is flawless (not that anything is!) but I hope this gives you some awareness about what this system is all about, whether or not it is a good thing for you, and what it can do for your business and your clientele if you do decide to use it in your salon!

#234-Defining your success 06 Jun 202200:18:57

Stylists comparing themselves to others and imposter syndrome are running rampant in this industry right now and it’s creating burnout, isolation, and a lot of self-doubt - all needlessly. That is why today we are doing things a little different on the podcast. This episode is going to be a bit less tactical and focus more on what to do when you don’t know what is next, or if you feel like you have lost your way. I’m going to share the process for defining success on your own terms, not someone else's, and the magic that can happen when you shift your perspective in this way!
