#350 - Does the loyalty pricing model work or fail?
Épisode 350
lundi 26 août 2024 • Durée 28:46
As a service-based industry, it is really easy to focus on the feels and the vibes because we are in this pressure cooker of an economy, and we start to make emotional decisions that are not good for business. I sat down to record this episode in urgency, because I want everyone to take a step back and really check the math on a piece of advice that has been going around Instagram about using a loyalty pricing model.
This is a new pricing strategy that could be incredibly detrimental to your income, so I want to work through a number of different scenarios so that you really know what’s happening if you decide to use a system like this in your business!

#349 - How to grow as an employee stylist
Épisode 349
lundi 19 août 2024 • Durée 26:08
Today’s episode is inspired by a message I received from an incredible Thriving Stylist podcast listener who is asking for guidance on how to build and grow her career as a commission-based stylist, while not having complete control over her career.
As a stylist, I know that you want to grow, and you need to be in an environment where growth is supported. When you’re in this type of environment you’ll be in the driver seat of your career and in control of your future, and when you’re successful, the salon owner is too - it’s a win-win partnership!

#254-Professional, Profitable, Authentic Vulnerability
Épisode 254
lundi 24 octobre 2022 • Durée 24:46
I’ll be the first to admit that I’m feeling a little bit vulnerable digging into this topic today, but I want to look at what it means to display professional, profitable and authentic vulnerability. This is something that I’ve struggled with for a long time, and probably still do, but I’ve been able to really learn how to be more vulnerable, but in the right way. In this episode, I share the do’s and don’ts of being vulnerable as a business owner, the dangers of oversharing or creating content that isn’t aligned with your brand, and so much more!

Épisode 253
lundi 17 octobre 2022 • Durée 20:07
Today’s topic is something that is mysterious to our industry, but not to the world around us. In this episode, we are talking about Web 3.0, which is based on the premise that there’s an alternative to exploiting users for data to make money, and that instead, building open platforms that share value with users directly will create more value for everyone, including the platform. I’ll be breaking down further what Web 3.0 is all about, what it stands for, and what it could mean for our industry moving forward!

Being content and comfortable is where businesses go to die, because the world around us is always growing. That’s why for today’s episode, we are talking all about growth, and in order to do this exercise you’re going to have to set your ego aside. I want you to rethink your business, think about how you can get more clients faster and how you can attract the right people to work for you. Épisode 251
lundi 3 octobre 2022 • Durée 30:04
Why is it that some entrepreneurs seem to have the “Midas Touch” and can do no wrong, yet others fizzle out, or fail to even launch? Today I want to talk about the qualities and characteristics of the four different categories of entrepreneurs that exist, and share how I can best prepare people to not just stagnate and to not just dream, but to actually achieve.

#249-Afterpay for Salons
Épisode 249
lundi 19 septembre 2022 • Durée 19:55
Today we’re looking at Afterpay, a new payment processor that has taken Australian shoppers by storm with more than one million customers and almost five million transactions being made on the Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) platform since its launch in 2015. In this episode, I reveal what Afterpay is, how it works, and the ways it can impact your business and your clientele.
As you’ll hear, I don’t think that Afterpay is flawless (not that anything is!) but I hope this gives you some awareness about what this system is all about, whether or not it is a good thing for you, and what it can do for your business and your clientele if you do decide to use it in your salon!
