Eilish Hardiman discussing how she gets the best out of her teams05 Mar 202100:32:19

Eilish Hardiman is the Chief Executive of Children’s Health Ireland which is responsible for a huge country wide healthcare transformation programme valued at over 2 billion euros.  This is the biggest public sector capex spend in the history of the country.  Leading it is a sizeable role with a lot of moving parts.

In our podcast Eilish took time out of her busy schedule to discuss how she approached getting the absolute best performance from her teams.  She notes that the key to making this happen across the organisation is to support people in not getting caught up in the mental noise and interference that so many of us carry around.  With knowing this people can then deliver to their real potential.

Eilish discusses how people need to be in the best mind space to be able to think clearly and actively listen.  She has realised that investing in leadership development and coaching gets the best out of her teams.

She explains how it is the team at the top who set the tone and the culture of an organisation and therefore how they need to be a well-oiled unit.  And this comes with the right mind set, clarity of thinking and a reduction in the distractions of mental noise.

On her own journey of learning about THOUGHT INTELLIGENCE®, Eilish noticed that having less mental noise or greater clarity of thought allows her to have the capacity for new ideas and creative solutions. Two qualities at the heart of effective innovation and change.”

Claire Limon - finding my inner peace01 Mar 202100:21:30

Claire described herself as having been a headless chicken with a family and a house to run, along with the responsibilities of a big job.  Due to attending a leadership development programme and learning more about how the mind works she has found an inner peace, she takes things in her stride and is able to achieve more in her work and personal life due to the reduction in mental noise.

Claire talks about her THOUGHT INTELLIGENCE®  journey and how different this experience of learning has been compared to the traditional Leadership training tools and techniques.

As a significant learner and provider of learning, Claire tells us how learning about THOUGHT INTELLIGENCE® results in having the right mind set to do the job at hand.  She also shares with us how she has benefitted:

  • how it has given her a sense of freedom, composure and weightlessness

  • that she is now able to speed up by slowing down which has been a revelation, sharing “I feel like I have greater lung capacity and I am floating.  My whole pace has slowed down whereas my delivery has increased”.

  • how she has got rid of a lot of the mental noise which was weighing her down and reducing her effectiveness at work and enjoyment

  • that decision making has become so much easier

  • how this has allowed Claire to drop preconceptions of other people she saw as ‘challenging’ and how this has directly led to these relationship profoundly changing for the better, along with performance improvement and engagement levels rising

  • And perhaps most importantly, as a result of her increasing awareness, people around her commenting on how well she is looking!
