Then the bomb drops and it get really dark. Hywel said that he believed that God wouldn't let this happen, Dave wasn't so sure.

If you thought the RS curriculum hit a new low last week this week we review "Jesus and Salvation", to be fair it was just very confused and strange at times. It focused as always on the more hard line versions of Christianity and some very odd Biblical quotes.  

Finally we talk about the Netflix show His Three Daughters. We both likes the TV this week as it was a very positive depiction of death and dying. Very good watch is a bit heavy at times.

Surprisingly it's just as inaccurate as the rest of it; focusing on how Christians are all terrified of Hell and how priests are out to control you with the threat of it, so watch out for those scary vicar blokes. Meanwhile the resurrection is dismissed with a incredibly articulate take down of, 'it was made up'. Surprisingly the Qu'ran wasn't dismissed as made up, I wonder why?

She suffered greatly in her life and was alive at a time of great suffering during the Black Death, when a third of the population died in one year. Her message was “All will be well” in the face of suffering. We compare our response to covid and our worship of safety.

We talk about her life and how we are not always told about these women in the church, as it doesn’t fit with the current narrative about Christianity being awful.
