For Episode 99 I'm joined by JJerome87!
Joe has had an illustrious career as the frontman of one of the biggest bands in the world for the last 15 years.
Alt J have had number 1 albums, headlined festivals, won the Mercury Music Prize and NME Awards. They've been nominated for Brit Awards, headlined The Other Stage at Glastonbury and have a legacy that dreams are made of.
But this year Joe released his debut solo album - The Canyon under the moniker of JJerome87. It's an Americana tinged masterpiece and is out now on Mushroom Music via Virgin Music Group.
For this episode Joe's album of choice is is Radiohead's Amnesiac. It's an seismic album from one of the biggest bands in the world, so naturally we spend most of the conversation talking about books, teenage hormones and cats.
We talk a LOT about cats.
It's an absolutely massive guest and I had so much fun talking to Joe. Enjoy irresponsibly.
“THIS Album…” is the podcast where each episode a guest and I deep dive an album that they have an emotional attachment to, one that captures a particular moment in their life. And we have a proper laugh while doing it.Rather than talking guitar pedals and snare drum recording techniques, I want to hear how bad someone’s haircut was when they discovered an album, who broke their heart and what questionable denim they were wearing. The show reached #1 on Spotify’s Music Podcast Chart and continues to build a highly engaged social audience, with clips from the podcast generating over 1 million views on Instagram in June 2026 alone.Former guests of the podcast include….IVO GRAHAM, BLOC PARTY, SPRINTS, WESTSIDE COWBOY, PIRI, WHODEE, PRESTON (THE ORDINARY BOYS), FELIX WHITE - THE MACCABEES, ELEANOR K, CHRISTOPHER MCARTHUR BOYD, JAKE FARRELL (SCREEN ROT PODCAST) WILL GAMBLE, MURKAGE DAVE, SWIM DEEP, SUNFLOWER BEAN, JAMIE WEBSTER, AMY MATTHEWS, SAM DELANEY, LIAM WITHNAIL, TONY MACCARROLL (OASIS), ED JONES, MYSTERY JETS, THE HOWLERS, WE ARE SCIENTISTS, ANNA SODEN, KYLE DALE, SOPHIE SVEINSSON, LOUISE SCHOFIELD, SILVER TONGUE RASCALS, CASTLE RAT, DANIEL MCKEON, THE ROLLING PEOPLE, ANDREW CUSHIN, GOLDIEROCKS, DAVID CORREOS, 22 GRAND POD, JAMES ALLEN, THE HOWLERS, WESLEY GONZALEZ, NED NEWMAN, FESTIVAL FRIEND RUSS, MATTHEW CROSBY, ROBIN ALLENDER, NORAH HENDRIKS, COURTING, PRESTON (THE ORDINARY BOYS), DUCKS LTD, THE BIG PINK, CHARTREUSE, BEATLES DUB CLUB, AMELIA BAYLER, RAJIV KARIA, JESS GREENFIELD - NGHFB.
