Chi-Town Rumble

Chi-Town Rumble was a professional wrestling pay-per-view (PPV) event produced by World Championship Wrestling (WCW) under the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) banner. It took place on February 20, 1989 at the UIC Pavilion in Chicago, Illinois.  The main event was a standard wrestling match for the NWA World Heavyweight Championship. Ric Flair defended the title against Ricky Steamboat. Steamboat pinned Flair with a Small Package to win the title.  Featured matches on the undercard were The Road Warriors (Hawk and Animal) versus The Varsity Club (Steve Williams and Kevin Sullivan) for the NWA World Tag Team Championship, Lex Luger versus Barry Windham for the NWA United States Heavyweight Championship, Mike Rotunda versus Rick Steiner for the NWA World Television Championship, Midnight Express (Bobby Eaton and Stan Lane) and Jim Cornette versus Original Midnight Express (Jack Victory and Randy Rose) and Paul E. Dangerously in a Loser Leaves NWA match, Sting versus Butch Reed and Michael Hayes versus Russian Assassin

Ricky Steamboat  

Richard Henry Blood Sr. (born February 28, 1953),better known by his ring name Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat, is an American retired professional wrestler best known for his work with the American Wrestling Association (AWA), Jim Crockett Promotions (JCP), World Championship Wrestling (WCW) and the World Wrestling Federation (WWF, now WWE).  In JCP and WCW, he was a one-time NWA World Heavyweight Champion, a four-time United States Heavyweight Champion, a four-time World Television Champion, a twelve-time World Tag Team Champion (eight-time under the WCW banner,[9][10] one-time (though unofficial) under the NWA banner[11] and three-time under the Mid-Atlantic banner) and a two-time Mid-Atlantic Heavyweight Champion. In the WWF/E, Steamboat was a one-time Intercontinental Heavyweight Champion and was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2009.

Garth Marenghi's Darkplace is a British horror parody television series created for Channel 4 by Richard Ayoade and Matthew Holness, and first broadcast in 2004. The show focuses on fictional horror author Garth Marenghi (played by Matthew Holness) and his publisher Dean Learner (played by Richard Ayoade), characters who originated in the Garth Marenghi's Fright Knight stage show.  The series is presented as a special release of the fictional television series Darkplace. Within the canon of the show, Darkplace was produced in the 1980s, but failed to gain an audience anywhere but Peru, eventually becoming a lost series. Saved footage has recently resurfaced, with Marenghi & co. republishing with the intent of gaining interest from a modern audience. The "original footage" of the show is intercut or bookended with commentary from many of the "original" cast, where characters such as Marenghi and Learner reflect on what it was like to make the show. Darkplace parodies the fashion, special effects, production gaffes, and music of low-budget '80s television, as well as the modern practice of including commentary tracks on DVD releases of old films and television shows.  Darkplace was broadcast in a late-night timeslot, with very little advertising, and met with poor viewing figures.[1] It built up a significant internet following, leading Channel 4 to repeat the series and produce a DVD release. In 2005, Channel 4's Film Four asked Holness and Ayoade to write a script for a film version of their programme.[2]  The show was later broadcast in the United States on the Sci-Fi Channel and Adult Swim[1] and is available to stream on Peacock.
