03. You Don't Have a Boundary Problem, You Have a System Problem05 May 202600:16:06

Have you ever felt like you’ve turned into the "Mean Mom"? The one who is constantly saying, "Not right now," or "Please, just let me work!" You’ve tried setting boundaries, but by the time work starts, you’re already stressed, overwhelmed, and feeling like you’re failing at running a business, homeschooling, and mom life.

In this episode, we’re digging into why those boundaries keep breaking. Here’s the truth: You don’t have a boundary problem. You have a systems problem. We are going to fix the systems in your day so you can stop being the “Mean Mom” and start being the fun, faith-filled mama you were called to be.

  • Do you ever find yourself snapping at your kids and then immediately feeling that heavy weight of Mom-guilt?
  • Are you trying to switch from "Work Mode" to "Mom Mode" in zero seconds?
  •  Is it possible that the "interruption" isn't actually your kids, but the laundry or the messy kitchen sink that’s draining your mental energy?
  • Have I actually told my kids what they can do while I’m working, or am I just expecting them to read my mind?

In this episode, I’m getting that exact moment I realized I was snapping at my kids simply because I was expecting them to respect a boundary I hadn’t built a system for. We dive into the "Yes" System, showing you how to replace the frantic "please just let me work" with a pre-approved list of independent activities that keep your kids occupied and your focus intact. I share why meal planning and Sunday Meal Prep are actually a "logistics boundary" that keeps you from being a short-order cook all day, and why the 5-Minute "Hat Switch" is the thing every working mom needs to transition from CEO to Mama without the stress. We also talk about using the 10-Minute Reset as a form of cleaning therapy to clear the physical clutter and the "noise" in your head, all while anchoring our hearts in Proverbs 4:26 to ensure we are giving careful thought to the paths we are building for our families.

If you are tired of the chaos cycle and ready to gain time back in your day, I have two things for you. First - join our community in The Working Homeschool Mom Simplified Facebook Group—it’s where we support each other and keep it real. Second, I’ve put together a Daily Routine Checklist to help you find those hidden pockets of time so you can get out of the overwhelm and back to what truly matters, like spending time with your family and time for self care.

Which system do you need to build first?

  1. Identify your biggest "leak": What is the one thing that always makes you snap? Is it snacks? Is it interruptions?
  2. Build a "Yes" System: Tell your kids today exactly what they can do the next time you need to focus.
  3. Set a Timer: Try a 10-Minute Reset after lunch today and notice how it clears your head.
  4. Share the Love: If this episode helped you stop the "Mean Mom" guilt, please leave a review and share it with a friend!

The Final Word: "You weren't meant to carry the weight of a chaotic schedule on your own. You aren’t a 'Mean Mom'—you’re a wise mama who is building a better path for her family. So, grab that cold brew, set your timer for your 10-minute reset, and take a breath. You’ve got this!"

02. What Actually Happens When a Working Mom Has Zero Homeschool Systems04 May 202600:14:16
The Morning Reality Check

Does your homeschool day fall apart before it even truly begins?

Do you have quiet time with God at 6:00 AM, only to lose your patience by 9:30 AM?

Do you start your day without a plan?

Do you have a plan if a kid has a meltdown?

If you’re nodding your head, mama, you aren't alone. I’ve been there, looking around the home and wondering if I got in over my head while trying to homeschool and run a business without the overwhelm. The truth is, we don’t need more hours in the day; we need systems that actually support our reality as working moms. Today, I’m showing you the cost of "winging it" and how to stop that morning chaos. We’re moving past the "mom guilt" and into four practical shifts that will help you reclaim your time and peace in your home.

The Hard Truth

Why a system-less home is training our kids to live in chaos—and how it’s stealing your witness and your patience.

  1. The Sunday Night Map: Stop the "Winging It" anxiety by spending 20 minutes mapping out your "Big 3" before the week starts.
  2. The Backup Plan: How to create a "Plan B" for those days when appointments run long or meltdowns hit. (Hint: Baking with the kids counts as school!)
  3. The Morning Routine: Why reclaiming just 20 minutes for yourself, the Bible, and your coffee is setting the tone for your home.
  4. The Reset: My non-negotiable "Kitchen Close-Down" and how a 15-minute reset gives you the mental white space actually to enjoy your life.

"Every wise woman builds her house, but a foolish one tears it down with her own hands." — Proverbs 14:1 (CSB)

If you're ready to close out the chaos, grab my The Working Homeschool Mom’s Daily Rhythm. It’s the exact tool I've been using for years and it will help you too.

01. I Almost Quit Homeschooling My Kids Until I Found This One System01 May 202600:16:12

We’ve all been there—standing in the kitchen, exhausted, and wondering how to balance business and homeschooling without failing at both.   I’m walking you through the exact 3-step time-blocking system that took me from burnout to a peaceful and calm home. Trailer27 Apr 202600:02:33

Are you always busy, yet always feeling behind? Welcome to the very first episode of The Working Homeschool Mom! I’m your host, Billie-Jo—wife, homeschooling mama to three, and business owner. My journey into motherhood started a little differently; I became a mom at age 48 practically overnight through adoption. I went from a quiet, organized life to a loud, chaotic, and beautiful home in an instant.

I’m sharing how I went from ending my days in tears—chasing a version of perfection that didn't exist—to finding peace and productivity through simple, faith-filled routines. If you are trying to balance the homeschool books, run a business, and keep your home from falling apart by 9:00 AM, you are in the right place.

We focus on

  • Simple Routines: Practical kitchen hacks, meal prep, and home management that actually work for a busy family.

  • Time Management: How to find hidden pockets of time to grow your business without sacrificing your family.

  • Boundaries: Learning how to separate "work time" from "school time" so you can be fully present with your kids.

  • Faith over Perfection: Inviting Jesus into the middle of the chaos and trading burnout for grace.

I am here to help you gain your time back and create rhythms that make your home feel manageable again. It's not about perfection at all.

It’s time to stop surviving and start thriving.

So, grab your cold brew, pop in those earbuds, and let’s fold that load of laundry while we chat. Let’s start simplifying together!

18. 4 Summer Routines That Will Your Grow Your Business and Protect Your Boundaries as a Working Mom26 Jun 202600:13:08

Have you found yourself staring at the upcoming summer calendar with a heavy dose of anxiety? You want the slow mornings and pool days with your kids, but secretly you're terrified that your business growth is about to come to a screeching halt.

The biggest mistake we make as working moms is trying to force a school-year schedule into a summer environment. When the kids are home, your school year boundaries and routines will collapse unless you define them.

In today’s episode, we are dropping the pressure of strict 8-hour workdays and stepping into a seasonal flow that honors your calling and your household. We are breaking down the 4 mandatory summer routines every working mom needs to protect her peace, manage her time, and build her business without the mid-July burnout!

Today we are talking about...
  • Why you need to spend time each week mapping out which will save your work schedule for the entire week.

  • How to build two or three time blocks that move your business forward while guarding family boundaries.

  • Why your kids don't need a strict classroom schedule, but how a simple visual routine can unlock quiet independent time for them (and focus time for you!). I share what we do.

  • The ultimate system to restore order to your home before dinner and eliminate late-night snack requests by setting a firm kitchen boundary.

Faith-led encouragement from Ecclesiastes 3:1 on why embracing a streamlined, seasonal routine is a beautiful form of excellent stewardship.

09. Is Your Lack of Systems Costing You Your Business AND Your Homeschool?26 May 202600:13:58

Have you ever reached the end of your day, looked around at a messy kitchen and an unfinished to-do list, and just wondered... "Where did the day actually go?" As a working mom, do you feel like you need to choose between being a great parent, homeschooling your kids, and running your business? Is it like a tug of war game that you’re always losing at?

Trying to handle all the moving parts without proper time management is a recipe for burnout. Today, I share a personal story about winging it after vacation, and the absolute disaster that followed (including lost time with the kids and lost business clients).

If you are ready to swap the overwhelm for calm, let’s break down the 5 non-negotiable, flexible systems every homeschool mom needs to protect her peace, patience, and profit. If you want a happy homeschool and a growing business, these 5 faith-filled routines are your foundation for setting real boundaries!

In This Episode, We Break Down:
  • System #1: The Morning Routine: How to switch from starting the day behind to being ahead instead so you can anchor your day before the chaos starts.

  • System #2: The Weekly Planning Session: How a quick 15-minute planning session provides the time management you need to run your business and homeschool smoothly.

  • System #3: The Meal System: Why lacking a structured plan for meal planning and prep actually cuts into your precious time and hard-earned business profit.

  • System #4: The Work-Block System: How to completely separate school and business by setting clear boundaries so your kids get your full presence and your business gets real growth.

  • System #5: The Daily Evaluation: The 5-minute evening habit that stops your mind from going a mile a minute so you can fall asleep easier and wake up stress-free.

Look at that list. If you are struggling right now, I can almost guarantee it’s because one or more of these core systems is missing. As a busy working mom, you don't need to be perfect at all five by tomorrow. Just look at that list and ask yourself: Which one of these routines will help me the most right now? Pick that one, put a simple flow in place, and start there.

Key Takeaway:

"God didn’t call you to a life of constant overwhelm. He called you to be a steward of your time and the heart of your home."

08. Why Your Time Management System Isn't Working — And What to Do Instead22 May 202600:14:55

You sit down at your desk with your coffee, and you’ve finally got a quiet moment to plan out the week. You open your planner... but suddenly, the overwhelm hits. You’re looking at the empty planner and the long to-do list, and instead of feeling organized, you feel stuck. Your brain feels like it has fifty tabs open, and you just want to shut the book and walk away.

If you’ve ever felt "stuck" the second you sat down to plan, this episode is for you. We’re talking about why your system is actually causing that overwhelm—and the four simple shifts that will turn your chaos into a faith-filled flow.

In this episode, we discuss:
  • Why we find mindless chores to do just to avoid facing a broken planning system.

  • How ignoring drive times and prep windows creates a week built on imaginary hours.

  • Why trying to "do it all" in one work block is draining your brain.

  • Filtering your "List of 100" down to what actually moves the needle in your home and business.

  • Why your Monday morning success actually depends on a 20-minute Sunday planning session.

The 4 Things to Fix-
  1. The Calendar Reality Check: Stop planning from memory. If it takes time, it takes a spot on the calendar—including drive time and getting out the door!

  2. Energy Batching: Stop switching between emails, videos, and follow-ups. Stay in one "mode" at a time to keep your momentum high and your stress low.

  3. The Focus Filter: Ditch the 20-item to-do list. Identify your Top 3 non-negotiables for the day. Everything else is a bonus.

  4. End "In the Moment" Planning: Your brain is too tired to decide what to do after a day of homeschooling. Plan the weekend before. Checking your planner the night before can reduce the stress the next morning.

Scripture:
  • Psalm 46:10: "Be still, and know that I am God."

07. Stop Managing Your Time - Start Protecting it With These Boundaries19 May 202600:18:33

You can’t manage time that you aren't first protecting."

We’ve all tried to "manage" our time—moving blocks around and trying to fit everything on a calendar like a game of Tetris. We hope this is the week it finally works. But here’s the truth - you can’t manage your time if you aren’t protecting it.

In this episode, I’m sharing the five boundaries every working homeschool mom needs to set to stop the hustle, ditch the burnout, and finally find her flow.

In this episode, we discuss:
  • Why "hustle mode" almost cost me the very connection I was working so hard to provide for my kids.
  • Learning which parts of your life will shatter if we drop them and what we might need to set aside.
  • Time blocking
  • Put the phone away
  • Protecting your "Heck Yes" by turning down what doesn’t serve you
The 5 Boundaries Every Homeschool Mom Needs:
  1. Work/Homeschool Boundaries
  2. Phone/Screen Boundaries
  3. Yes/Commitment Boundaries
  4. Housework Boundaries
  5. Self-Care Boundaries"

06. The Working Homeschool Mom Lie Nobody Talks About15 May 202600:11:55
Is This You?

Do you work all day?

Does everything seem to crash mid-day?

Do you start your day with a list of 20 things to do?

Are you comparing yourself to what other moms are doing?

What if the reason you’re feeling overwhelmed isn’t that you have too much to do, but because you’re trying to do things that were never required of you in the first place? Today, we’re exposing the working homeschool mom lie nobody talks about.

We’re talking about why you don’t have to post on social media every day, why you don’t have to do every school subject every day, and how letting go of 'everything' is the only way to actually find peace and calm in our home and life.

How many times have you said? "I just need to get through this week, and then I’ll finally breathe." But then next week comes, and it’s the same thing all over again.

In this episode, I’m talking about the "Everything Lie"—the crushing expectation that you have to be 100% everything to 100% everyone, all at the exact same time.

Word for your Heart: "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light." — Matthew 11:28-30

05. The Most Underrated System in Running a Homeschool and Business12 May 202600:13:49

Are you waiting for a four-hour block on Saturday to finally get your life together? In this episode, I break down the Reset System I've been using for years to manage my home, business, and homeschool in the tiny gaps of your day. Learn how to stop the "Saturday 5:00 PM Oh No!" and start leaning on these tiny resets.

The Saturday Reality Check: Why waiting for "big blocks of time" is keeping you overwhelmed (spoiler alert, they rarely ever happen) and why 1 minute can change your home.

  • From Reaction to Routine: the moment I realized my home didn't need an overhaul—it needed a reset.
  • The Mindset Shift - Gratitude in the Cleaning: Before we dive into the systems, we have to change how we look at the mess.
    • Seeing the floor that needs vacuuming as a blessing of a safe home for your kids.
    • How "stewardship" changes the atmosphere of your home more than "cleaning" ever will.
  • The Three Step Reset System:
    • The 1-Minute Reset: The "Coffee Brew" wiping a counter.
    • The 5-Minute Reset: A quick clean of something in the kitchen, bathroom, living room, or homeschool area
    • The 15-Minute Reset: A little bit deeper clean
  • Getting the Kids Involved: How to turn your kids into reset experts, where they will start doing it on their own.
  • Scheduling for Flow: How to plan these resets during the week.
Key Takeaways:
  1. Stop waiting for Saturday. Peace is built in the one-minute windows.
  2. Close the chapter. Use the 5-minute pivot to stop "overlap stress" between school and business.
  3. Shift your heart. When you are thankful for the home you have, the "work" of keeping it becomes an act of worship.

16. Stop Confusing Busy with Progress: Routines for Working Moms to Stop the Hustle19 Jun 202600:12:24

Think about the last time you ran into a friend at the grocery store or church, and they asked you that completely normal question: “Hey, how are you doing?” What was your immediate, knee-jerk response? How often do you find the words, “Oh my goodness, I am just so busy!” flying out of your mouth before you even think about it?

Be honest: When you say those words, are you secretly wearing them like a badge of honor? Or does it make you physically cringe the second they leave your mouth because you are just so tired of running on empty?

In this episode, we are diving into a hard truth: staying busy isn’t actually helping us, it's an excuse, and it's hurting us. Moving fast and keeping your hands constantly moving isn't an intentional plan; it’s just to avoid looking at the chaos.

As a Christian mom, it is so easy to fall into the trap of thinking that a jam-packed schedule means we are being good stewards. But God didn't call us to a life of scattered chaos. If you are ready to drop the frantic calendar-cramming, let go of perfectionism, and step into intentional, faith-led systems that protect your mental margin, this episode is for you. Grab your iced coffee, take a deep breath, and let's talk about how to stop the hustle and find real peace in your day.

Points- 1. Routines: The 15-Minute Reset & Easy Meal Planning

Getting time back in your day starts in the heart of the home: the kitchen. Implementing quick, predictable routines can completely shift the atmosphere of your afternoon and evening. Proverbs 31:27

  • The 15-Minute Reset: You don’t need hours to clean your house. Dedicate just 15 minutes to a quick reset—wiping counters, clearing the sink, and putting things back in their places. Getting the family involved makes it fast and teaches teamwork!

  • Stress-Free Meal Planning: Meal planning and meal prep aren't about being perfect; they are about giving a gift to your future self. By mapping out your meals and doing a little prep ahead of time, you eliminate that 5:00 PM panic and create space for peaceful family dinners.

2. Honor the Sabbath: Protecting Your Day of Rest

In our hustle-driven culture, it’s easy to feel like we always need to be doing something. But God designed us for rest.

  • Setting Boundaries: Keeping the Sabbath is a beautiful act of trust. It’s a declaration that the world will keep turning even when we step away from our to-do lists.

3. Faith-Filled Self-Care

Self-care isn't selfish, and it doesn't have to look like an expensive spa day. True, faith-filled self-care is about filling your tank spiritually, mentally, and physically so you can love and serve your family well.  1 Corinthians 6:19-20

  • Slowing Down with Jesus: Spending quiet moments in prayer, reading scripture, or simply sitting in His presence is the ultimate form of renewal.

15. What am I Doing Wrong? Time Management Systems for Working Moms16 Jun 202600:16:39

Have you ever looked at the clock at 5 PM, completely exhausted, and thought: “I didn’t sit down all day... so why does it feel like I accomplished absolutely nothing?” You ran around wiping counters, folding laundry, vacuuming the floor, and folding four loads of laundry—but you didn't work at all on your business.

As a working mom or homeschool mom, it is so easy to do stuff around the house, instead of working on the business. In this episode, we are having a serious, loving reality check. I am breaking down the major mindset shifts and practical time management systems you need to stop drowning in housework and start rigorously prioritizing your true business calling.

Key Takeaways From This Episode:
  • Get Everyone Involved: Homemaking is a team sport. Learn how shifting responsibility and training your family to manage their own age-appropriate tasks immediately buys back time blocks for your business goals.

  • Schedule Your Reset Windows: Chores expand to fill the time you give them. Discover how to put your resets onto your calendar or planner for your Morning Routine, Afternoon Lunch Routine, and Nightly Routine.

  • The Boundary Mindset (When You Are Working, You Are Working): Learn how to physically turn your back on the clutter and accept that it is 100% okay to let the laundry wait until later. Your business is a calling, not a hobby!

  • The Scriptural Permission to Let Chores Wait: We look at Martha’s anxiety over micro-problems in Luke 10:41-42 and contrast it with the divine order of seasons in Ecclesiastes 3:1. Leaving a basket of unfolded laundry to do the work God called you to do isn’t bad homemaking—it’s excellent stewardship.

13. You Want Me to do What God? 3 Reasons Homeschool Moms Run From the Calling God Gave Them09 Jun 202600:21:05

Have you ever felt a deep, undeniable nudge from God to start a business, pivot your business, or scale your current business, only to immediately back off? Do you look at your busy routine and tell yourself you don't have the time, the help, or the perfect environment to make it happen?

Whether you are a working mom who homeschools, a full-time homeschooling mom afraid to start, or an entrepreneur terrified to pivot or scale your business, this episode is your wake-up call! In this conversation, we are discussing the fear and excuses that hold us back.

We dive into my personal story of hiding behind mom life, packed therapy routines, and man-made critics for nearly ten years before finally answering a loud, vivid assignment from God. Tune in to discover the 3 real reasons women run from their potential, how to stand in your authority, and the exact scriptural and practical home systems and routines required to step into your calling with complete peace, confidence, and order.

Key Takeaways & Scriptures
  • 1. Dismantling the Excuse of "Not Enough Time"  The Struggle: Using packed homeschooling days and overlapping therapy schedules as a shield to avoid taking the next step.

    • The Word: Ephesians 5:15-16 – "Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time, because the days are evil." * The Structural Shift: God does not give an assignment without providing the hours required to fulfill it. Expand your time through intentional, micro-focused time management blocks. Blocking off just one non-negotiable hour a day purely for your business protects your family time from chaos and eliminates the "no time" excuse entirely.

  • 2. Silencing the Noise of the Critics  The Struggle: Letting external voices convince you that "nobody cares about homeschool moms" or that your unique journey—including your adoption timeline—doesn't give you enough authority to lead.

    • The Word: Galatians 1:10 – "For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ." * The Structural Shift: God did not drop the vivid blueprint for your business or brand pivot into the hearts of your critics—He gave it to you. Establish firm, professional, and mindset boundaries. Use your unique story as the exact authority God designed to help you serve other mothers.

  • 3. Breaking the Perfection and Fear of Failure The Struggle: Delaying your obedience because you are waiting for a season of perfection where your household is immaculate and your schedule is perfect.

    • The Word: Joshua 1:9 – "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go."

    • The Structural Shift: God requires courage and active obedience, not perfection. Trade the unrealistic expectation of a spotless house or a stress-free schedule for a mandate to move in faith. When you back that faith up with automated, repeatable, simple routines and systems like laundry loops and predictable morning flows, your home runs on autopilot. That layout clears the structural peace and mental space required to build a business God called you to build.

12. "How Often Do You Hear, Can I Have a Snack?” 3 Meal Planning Ideas for the Working Mom05 Jun 202600:15:45

Tired of hearing “Can I have a snack?”

The school year is over! But if you are a working mom, celebrating the end of the school year can quickly give way to a little bit of food-induced panic, because you know that food budget is gonna take a hit. Your kids are done with homeschool for the year, and suddenly you are hearing the dreaded phrase, "Mom, can I have a snack?" forty-seven times before noon!

If you are wondering how you are supposed to hit your business deadlines when your kitchen has turned into a 24/7 all-you-can-eat buffet, this episode is for you!

In this episode, we are diving deep into how working moms can implement simple kitchen systems and smart meal planning to reclaim their productivity and peace. I'm sharing my real-life story of having a kitchen open all day, how it completely derailed my time management, and the exact 3 easy summer meals frameworks and food routines I used to fix it. You don’t need to spend hours cooking, but you do need clear kitchen boundaries so you can scale your business and enjoy your kids, without all the stress.

In this episode, you will learn:
  • The Snack Station Boundary: How to build a self-serve snack system so your kids stay independent and your work blocks stay completely uninterrupted.
  • Meal Prep Lunch: My favorite meal planning hack to stop cooking lunch in the middle of summer so you can maximize your midday breaks. 11. Stop the Summer Chaos: How I Use Flexible Systems to Plan Our Summer Without the Stress02 Jun 202600:16:06

The curriculum books are officially packed away, the pencils are put down, and you did it—the school year is over! But if you are a working mom, celebrating the end of the school year can quickly give way to a little bit of summer panic. Yes, your kids are done homeschooling for the year, but your business isn’t done for the summer.

If you are wondering how you are supposed to get anything done without a homeschool schedule, this episode is for you!

In this episode, we are diving deep into how working moms can successfully transition from a structured school year into a peaceful, chaos-free summer rhythm. I'm sharing the exact mistakes I made two summers ago when I tried to "wing it" and "go with the flow"—spoiler alert: it bit me in the butt, resulted in constant interruptions, and turned my kitchen into an all-day buffet.

You don’t need a rigid, corporate 9-to-5 schedule, but you do need a flexible summer system that protects your business goals and family peace.

In this episode, you will learn:
  • Why "Going with the Flow" is Hurting You: Why kids—especially kids with ADHD—thrive so much better with a schedule and predictable summer routines instead of a total free-for-all.
  • My Exact Summer Work Schedule: How I structure my hours Monday through Thursday so I can work ahead, stay ahead for the fall, and take Friday through Sunday completely off.
  • Boundaries: How to establish clear workspace boundaries with your family so your children know exactly when you are working.
  • Guilt-Free Attention Refills: Creative ways to mix work blocks with intentional family time—like stepping away to throw the softball with the girls or kick a soccer ball with my son.
  • Managing the Kitchen: A highly requested meal planning hack featuring a self-serve summer snack bin and strict "open kitchen" hours to save your sanity and your time management.

Summer planning isn't about a strict schedule, but one that’s flexible. It’s about building an intentional framework so you can scale your business and enjoy your kids without the burnout. Grab your iced coffee and let's map out your summer shift!

20. Summer Boundaries Most Working Moms Don't Realize They're Missing03 Jul 202600:16:29
Summer Boundaries Most Working Moms Don't Realize They're Missing

It is the first week of July, and instead of feeling excited, it's July 4th weekend, you find yourself hiding out on your phone. In just a five-minute scroll, you look at a picture-perfect beach trip from a mom, a clean midday workspace from another working mom, and a massive six-figure launch celebration from a third. Instantly, you start to feel jealous. You look around your actual living room—at the dishes in the sink, the sticky kitchen counters, your untouched business to-do list—and the thought slips in: “I am completely missing my summer. I’m failing my business, and I’m failing my kids.”

In this powerful, midpoint-of-summer reset, we are stepping completely away from routines, systems, and time management. We are talking about your mind, your spiritual protection, and your device boundaries.

I’m sharing a vulnerable moment from my own journey where I realized that the urge to mindlessly scroll, which was Satan, was actually an attack from Satan. I started comparing and feeling jealous. If you are ready to drop the invisible scorecard, break out of the "comparison" trap, and reclaim your peace before the rest of the summer decides for you, this episode is your battle plan.

Key Takeaways From This Episode:
  • The Social Media Boundary: How social media transformed a simple, slow, unedited season into a highly produced performance—and why trying to match it creates constant mental friction. A raw look at how the enemy uses moments of maternal exhaustion to lure us into the comparison game, stealing our peace and fracturing our focus.

  • You Can't Be Present When You're Constantly Measuring: Tactical, non-negotiable physical boundaries for your phone to protect your morning focus, your working blocks, and your late-night rest.

  • Doing it All: Why trying to run your business while sitting halfway by the pool means you are 100% missing out on both environments.

  • What Matters Before Summer Decides for You: How setting a clear identity boundary around your true seasonal capacity creates space to hear the Holy Spirit and look your kids in the eyes.

Links and Resources Mentioned in This Episode:
  • Scriptural Focus: Reclaim your focus by meditating on Galatians 6:4 ("Pay careful attention to your own work, then you will have the satisfaction of a job well done, and you won’t need to compare yourself to anyone else.").

21. Ugh Do I Need Routines? How a Working Homeschool Mom Can Build Simple Systems That Actually Last07 Jul 202600:11:08

In this episode, we're tackling the fear that often paralyzes a working homeschool mama before she even begins: the fear of starting a routine. You know the feeling—you have the planners and the Pinterest dinner ideas ready, but when it’s time to actually start, you’re stuck in fear of failing, that your plan won't work, or that you'll fail by Wednesday. We are moving past the perfectionism trap that says if it's not perfect, it's not progress, and instead, we're building a foundation of courage before the back-to-school rush hits.

What if the very thing you think is protecting your family—that rigid, hour-by-hour calendar you keep trying to master—is actually what is standing between you and the peace God has for you? We’ve all believed the lie that we need to always be busy to be successful, but that scattered chaos is not what God has called us to. Let's talk about why simple, flexible systems and routines are the only way to survive the transitions of motherhood and everyday mom life.

You aren't failing; you're just missing the one mindset shift that allows your routines to actually last through every unexpected season. By surrendering your day to God's plan and utilizing intentional boundaries, you can stop the mom guilt cycle.

Remember, being a multi-passionate working homeschool mom means you often feel split-focused—thinking about your business while with your kids and thinking about chores while trying to work. This mental clutter creates a fear of starting any new system because you're afraid of the "total collapse" if life happens.

Bible Verses

  • Joshua 1:9: "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go."
  • Colossians 3:23: "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters."

28. Is Your Cup Empty? 3 Simple Systems to Reclaim Boundaries as a Working Homeschool Mom31 Jul 202600:14:21

Do you ever feel like you're pouring into everyone else, only to realize there's nothing left for you by the end of the day?

As a working homeschool mom, it's easy to believe that feeling exhausted is just part of the job. But what if your empty cup isn't a sign that you're failing? What if it's a sign that your life needs better systems and routines rather than hustle?

In this episode, we're talking about three simple systems that can help you reclaim your boundaries, reduce overwhelm, and create more peace in your home. These aren't complicated productivity hacks. They're simple, sustainable routines that help you protect your time, simplify your days, and care for yourself so you can continue serving your family well.

Did you know that small but powerful boundaries can protect your time and help you stop wasting energy all day long. We’ll also touch on what it really means to care for yourself without guilt, and how even one small change this week can start to bring more peace back into your home.

I will walk you through three simple systems that can start to shift everything as a working homeschool mom who needs to fill her cup. How you can protect your time and energy with healthier boundaries, routines for your home that removes the constant need to figure out “what’s next,” and a better way to think about filling your own cup so you’re not running on empty while trying to hold everything together.

Instead of trying to change everything, choose one of these three systems and make one small improvement this week.

Ask yourself:

  • Where are my boundaries weakest?
  • Which daily rhythm would make the biggest difference?
  • What is one way I can intentionally refill my cup this week?

Small, consistent changes lead to lasting transformation.

27. Stop Starting Over Every Day - Simple Habits and Routines for the Working Mom28 Jul 202600:17:27

Running a home, being a homeschool mom, and running a business can be a lot if we don't have routines in place. True peace isn't found in a rigid, minute-by-minute schedule that induces guilt when life happens. Instead, it is found by establishing simple, repeatable routines that run on autopilot, because they are habits.

In this episode, we break down how to take the weight off your shoulders, trade perfectionism for grace, and build automated habits into your daily schedule and routines.

What is already on autopilot?

Think about how many things you currently do on autopilot in your home. You don’t consciously map out every step required to brush your teeth, pull your blinds, or turn on your coffee maker—your brain has converted those repetitive actions into automatic habits to preserve your energy.

What if your household maintenance, your business boundaries, and your homeschool transitions ran on automation? When you build structured routines around your daily essentials, you stop wasting willpower on daily logistics and start operating with quiet dependability.

The 4-Block Autopilot Framework

Routines are meant to serve as supportive anchors for your day, not perfection. By dividing your day into intentional, flexible blocks, you eliminate decision fatigue and protect your energy. Mine didn't start this way but over time so many of my routines became habits. They carry me through the day.

Here is my daily flow for the day.

1. The Morning Focus Block: Spiritual & Physical Grounding 2. The Homeschool Time Block: Focused Present Leadership 3. The Work Time Block: Protecting Your Professional Calling 4. The Evening Reset Block: Closing the Mental Brackets

Routines can become habits when we build on each other. It won't happen overnight but when we implement simple routines they will become habits. Take a habit that is easy and pair with a routine that is a struggle, so it can become a habit too.

Today, we’re ending the "perfect planner" guilt. Grab your coffee and let's settle the debate between paper and digital systems.

In this episode, I'm talking about how to stop looking for a "magic" tool and start building an integrated system that actually serves you as a working mom and homeschool mom. We’ll explore how to use digital anchors for hard boundaries, spreadsheets for your brain dumps, and paper for your daily rhythms.

  • The "Tool vs. System" Realization: A rigid, hour-by-hour calendar is a recipe for disaster and mom guilt. The secret isn't the tool you buy; it's the system and routine you build that allows for the reality of "pocket moments of quiet" and the messy interruptions of motherhood.
  • The Digital Anchor: Use Google Calendar for your "Hard Boundaries"—the non-negotiable business meetings and appointments that need to ping you so you don't miss a beat while deep in a math lesson.
  • The Brain Dump Spreadsheet: Close out the day by brain-dumping all your thoughts. Use this to set up your time blocks by day before they ever hit your daily planner.
  • The System: Leverage the flexibility of digital for your shifting work blocks and the tactile anchor of paper for your daily rhythms and brain dumps.
  • Colossians 3:23 Reflection: Your systems are tools to steward the calling God has placed on your life as a working mom.

Scripture Mentioned:

  • "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters." — Colossians 3:23

24. Too Many Tabs Opened? How to Surrender to God and Build Working Mom Routines17 Jul 202600:13:49

Ever sat down at your desk to finish a client project, but mid-sentence your brain screams that you forgot to do something? Then your child walks in, says they're bored, or maybe they are asking for a snack, all while your phone is dinging with a business notification, and suddenly you are drafting a grocery list in your head while staring at a half-written business email.

Your brain feels exactly like a laptop screen with 47 browser tabs open at the same time. There’s background noise playing, you have no idea where it's coming from, and you can’t find the close button. You’re physically present at home, but mentally, your brackets are wide open—letting your focus, your energy, and your peace go out the door.

In this episode, I am getting raw and incredibly transparent about what it actually means to lay down your rigid expectations and surrender your schedule to God's better plan. I am taking you behind the scenes of what is happening in my home right now with my son—navigating unexpected behavioral meltdowns, an evolving therapy path, and the emotional exhaustion of trying to figure out what's wrong while running a business.

If you are tired of trying to control your days, running on survival mode, and carrying the weight of the world on your shoulders, press play. It is time to learn how to close the tabs and let the Holy Spirit carry the load.

  • Surrendering My Checklist in Real Time: Why an unexpected medical gray area, a therapist's sudden pivot, and a child's meltdown will instantly expose the lie of our "perfectly controlled" schedules.

  • The Dangerous Trap of Perfection: The psychological reason keeping 47 mental tabs open is proof that you are operating as if the entire weight of your household and calling rests on you.

  • The "Three-Tab" Maternal Routine: My exact framework for accepting seasonal maternal capacity and creating a routine that lets me work and have time with my family without them overlapping.

  • The Mindset Boundary Shift: Why leaving a basket of laundry sitting unfolded for hours isn't bad homemaking—it’s how you step into excellent stewardship of your God-given assignment.

  • The Daily Brain Dump: The simple, tactical tool used to capture erratic thoughts and transfer the execution over to God so your day moves with the flow of the Holy Spirit instead of the friction of frantic hustle.
