LIV Golf Bankruptcy Is Official. Here’s How Much It Owes Its Players.
Épisode 267
mercredi 9 septembre 2026 • Durée 19:02
LIV Golf filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection this week, and Jon Rahm had already left the LIV players group chat a month before it happened.

The filing lists what LIV Golf still owes its own players in past due payments, and those totals only cover what is late. They say nothing about the years of guaranteed money still written into contracts that LIV now wants a court to void. Jon Rahm, Bryson DeChambeau, Dustin Johnson, Cameron Smith, Adrian Meronk, Tyrrell Hatton, Bubba Watson, Abraham Ancer, Byeong Hun An and Brooks Koepka all appear on it.
Trey Wingo walks through what LIV Golf CEO Scott O'Neil told the players. That includes the memo saying LIV's lawyers would be in court seeking approval to reject existing player agreements, and the separate email handing players talking points about real momentum and a transition to LIV Golf 2.0. He also gets into the plan to expand the field from 57 players to 75 at a league that cannot pay the players it already has.
There is the Jon Rahm answer on the DP World Tour about being willing to fulfill his LIV contract, and why that specific wording is a lawyer's sentence rather than a golfer's. There is the group chat exit on August 9th. There are the LIV Golf players Trey texted who could not talk because of NDAs, and the question of why a golf league needs NDAs at all. Reporting on the filings credited to Flushing It and Josh Carpenter, including the detail that LIV Golf's own filing categorizes the PGA Tour and the DP World Tour as competitors, which is the opposite of everything LIV has said publicly for four years.
The part that matters most is who actually absorbs this. The top players already collected. The vendors did not. One company was four years out on a contract worth millions of euros a year, and it is gone, with almost half the staff laid off. That is the real legacy of LIV Golf 1.0.

Warren Sharp’s 2026 NFL Predictions: Chiefs, Cowboys, Rams & More
Épisode 266
mardi 8 septembre 2026 • Durée 49:27
Every NFL broadcast puts third-down conversion rate on the screen. Warren Sharp says that is the wrong number. What predicts winning is how often a team avoids third down at all, and almost nobody says it out loud.

Warren left a decade-long engineering career to model football full time, has consulted for NFL teams under NDA, and has published his betting record every year since 2006. This conversation is about the machinery underneath it.
The core of it: early-down efficiency and explosive plays have to be balanced against each other, not optimized separately. Sack avoidance is drastically underrated, and quarterbacks control far more of it than offensive lines get blamed for. His line is that interceptions are game changers and sacks are drive changers, and he has the drive-scoring numbers to show what a single sack does to a possession.
On strength of schedule, he does not use last year's records at all. He explains what he uses instead, why the betting market does the work for you, and why 2026 is the year that matters most, with ten new head coaches and a wave of new coordinators changing what every team is trying to do.
Then the teams. Why he thinks Houston finishes first in the AFC South and what changed on the offensive line. Why he bet against Cincinnati last year and is not doing it again. What the Cowboys defense has to become, and it is a lower bar than you would think. Why he believes the hype around the Rams and still will not put money on them, which is a distinction most people never make. What Denver's play calling change means for sack rate. And where Kansas City actually stands.
Trey brings his own argument too, that the hardest games to win come in September because nobody knows they are bad yet, and gets it tested against the data.
Warren is giving Wingo Network viewers the full 2026 preview book, the $34.99 PDF, free. Details at the end of the video and in the pinned comment. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. See https://pcm.adswizz.com

The NFL commissioner has agreed to a four-year extension that will keep him in charge through the 2030 season, lining up his tenure with the expiration of the league’s current collective bargaining agreement.
And Trey Wingo believes that timing is anything but accidental.
On this episode of Straight Facts Homie, Trey breaks down why NFL owners continue to put their trust in Goodell, the staggering financial growth of the league during his tenure, and what his new performance-based deal says about the priorities of the people he works for.
More importantly, Trey explains why he believes the extension sets the stage for the NFL’s next major push: an 18-game regular season, significantly more international games and, eventually, an international division.
What does that mean for the NFLPA when the next CBA negotiations arrive? And what will the players have to get in return if the league gets what it wants?
Roger Goodell has spent two decades delivering for NFL owners. Now he has four more years to finish the job

The PGA Tour is bringing match play into its future playoff format, but one viewer raised an important question: could a format that creates better competition also create a television problem?
Trey Wingo and Justin Ray break down the unpredictability of match play, where one bad day can send even the biggest stars home early. Trey looks back at examples of Tiger Woods being eliminated in match play, while Justin makes the broader point that no playoff system can guarantee the perfect television outcome.
Sometimes the Super Bowl is a blowout. Sometimes the favorite loses early. That’s part of what makes a real postseason unpredictable.
The mailbag also gets into whether the Presidents Cup should be used to give younger American players experience before future Ryder Cups, whether Team USA got its captain’s picks right after leaving Ben Griffin off the roster, and the smartest strategic golf Trey and Justin saw during the FedEx Cup playoffs.
They also discuss whether Scottie Scheffler is being measured against an impossible Tiger Woods standard, whether Jason Day should have made the International Presidents Cup team, and the biggest issue surrounding the Presidents Cup itself: after 10 straight U.S. wins, does the event already have a competitiveness problem?
Plus, Justin gives a firsthand preview of Team USA’s Solheim Cup trip, what makes winning on European soil so difficult, and why Nelly Korda doesn’t need to carry the entire team herself. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. See https://pcm.adswizz.com

Scottie Scheffler Finished Another Dominant Season. The Tiger Comparison Is Getting Harder to Ignore

After winning two of the three playoff events and another FedEx Cup, Scottie effectively ended the Player of the Year debate. But Trey Wingo and Justin Ray turn to the bigger conversation: how does this stretch actually compare to Tiger?
From ages 28 to 30, Tiger and Scottie each produced 18 worldwide wins, with remarkably similar strokes-gained numbers.
But Trey pushes back on one part of the comparison: the idea that today’s PGA Tour is automatically deeper than the one Tiger dominated.
Tiger had to beat players like Phil Mickelson, Vijay Singh, Ernie Els, David Duval and Retief Goosen, all of whom proved they could consistently close tournaments and win majors. Justin also adds an important piece of context to Scottie’s era, with players like Jon Rahm and Bryson DeChambeau no longer competing against him every week on the PGA Tour.
None of that takes away from what Scottie is doing.
It just makes comparing eras a lot more complicated than looking at one set of numbers.
Trey and Justin also put together their season podium behind Scottie, with Wyndham Clark and Matt Fitzpatrick rounding out the top three.

Trey Wingo and Justin Ray break down the captain’s picks for both Team USA and the International Team, including where each captain followed the points list, where they went in a different direction and which selections stood out the most.
On the U.S. side, Brandt Snedeker added Chris Gotterup, Xander Schauffele, Justin Thomas, Jacob Bridgeman, Patrick Cantlay and 21-year-old Jackson Koivun.
Koivun immediately becomes one of the most intriguing players in the event, while Cantlay brings a proven team-golf track record and Bridgeman gives the Americans another chance to see a younger player in this environment.
For the International Team, Jeff Ogilvy also made some interesting choices, leaning on a mix of current form, Presidents Cup experience and players he believes can help close the talent gap against a historically deeper American roster.
Trey and Justin break down the biggest surprises, the players who were left out and what each side’s selections tell us about how the captains are approaching Medinah.
The picks are done. Now it’s Team USA vs. the International Team.

The NFL Front Office Playbook Has Arrived College Football — Here Is the Man Who Brought It
Épisode 260

Every NFL team works under the same cap. Every college program is in the same mess. Jake Rosenberg says neither one explains who wins.

Rosenberg spent twelve years in the Philadelphia Eagles front office as Howie Roseman's right hand on the salary cap, and he now advises college programs through The Athlete Group, which helped build Oklahoma's football front office and worked with Florida to hire Dave Caldwell. He is one of very few people who has done the job on both sides of the line, and his read on why teams win is the opposite of the one you usually hear.
The standard explanation in the NFL is that the cap constrains you. The standard explanation in college is that there are no rules. Rosenberg's answer is that both are alibis. Every organization in both leagues is working under the same conditions as its competitors, and the ones losing are losing on how they operate, not on the constraint they blame. Give two teams identical money and you get wildly different rosters, which means the money was never the variable.
Trey does not let it go, and pushes back through most of the conversation. He makes the case that college football is genuine chaos, that the NCAA saw name, image and likeness coming and did nothing, and that colleges will not cooperate with each other the way the NFL did when free agency arrived. That disagreement is the spine of the whole thing.
The NFL half is the control group. Rosenberg on what separates Howie Roseman, Les Snead, Brett Veach and Eric DeCosta from everyone else, on why so many owners want to win without having any plan for how, and on why a team refusing to do contract extensions during the season is a leadership failure rather than a policy. Trey argues the NFL only works because it is a socialist league run by capitalists, and Rosenberg traces that back to how the thing was built.
The college half is the proof. What he actually finds when he spends two days inside a program talking to everyone from the head coach down, with nobody knowing what anyone else said. Why the conferences behave like cartels and why a cartel collapses the moment one member steps out. Why he thinks the LSU eligibility fight was an avoidable strategic error rather than evidence the system is lawless. And what happens to forty million dollars in the hands of a program that does not know what it is doing.
Also here: why a commodities trader took an internship at thirty five and commuted eighty five miles each way, and why he did the same thing again years later when he walked away from the NFL with no backup plan.
The question worth sitting with afterward is whether a cap fixes any of this, or whether it simply makes the gap between the operators and everyone else impossible to hide. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. See https://pcm.adswizz.com

The U.S. Has Won 10 Straight Presidents Cups. Is This Still a Real Rivalry?

Team USA has won 10 straight Presidents Cups, and the numbers behind the event have become impossible to ignore. Trey and Justin break down what that dominance says about the state of the competition, whether the International Team can realistically close the gap, and why the event keeps running into the same core issue year after year.
They also get into this year’s captain’s picks and what they reveal about both sides. On Team USA, Jackson Koivun, Patrick Cantlay, Jacob Bridgeman, Justin Thomas, Xander Schauffele and Chris Gotterup help round out a roster that still looks deeper on paper. On the International side, the conversation turns to the biggest surprises, the players left off, and whether the roster has enough firepower to make this Presidents Cup feel different.
The bigger debate, though, is whether the Presidents Cup needs more than just better picks. If the U.S. continues to dominate this consistently, does the event need a new structure, a new format, or simply more time for the International side to catch up?
This episode breaks down the picks, the streak, and the biggest question hanging over the event: is this still a true rivalry, or has Team USA’s run become too overwhelming to ignore?

You asked. Trey and Justin answered.
Scottie Scheffler has passed Tiger Woods as the PGA Tour’s career money leader, but does that record actually tell us anything anymore with today’s purses?
That question kicks off this Golf Live mailbag as Trey Wingo and Justin Ray explain why raw career earnings are nearly impossible to compare across generations and identify a different Scottie money statistic that may actually carry historical significance.
From there, the questions keep coming.
Has Wyndham Clark officially turned Player of the Year into a real race? Does Michael La Sasso’s win change the perception of LIV as a destination for older stars? How close is Miyu Yamashita to entering the same conversation as the biggest names in women’s golf?
Trey and Justin also debate whether it’s fair for everybody to begin the Tour Championship on equal footing, why playoff heartbreak is exactly what a postseason is supposed to create and whether college golf now needs the same kind of eligibility overhaul being debated across the rest of college athletics.
And after weeks of rumors and accusations, Katrina finally makes her official on-camera Golf Live debut to prove that she is, in fact, a real person and not AI.
Seven viewer questions, plenty of golf arguments and one very important AI test.

Was that the final LIV Golf event?
LIV’s 2026 season ended in Indianapolis with the team championship canceled, uncertainty surrounding what comes next and a final broadcast that Trey Wingo and Justin Ray say felt much more like a goodbye than the end of an ordinary season.
Michael La Sasso became LIV’s youngest winner at 22, then immediately filed paperwork for DP World Tour Q-School. Bryson DeChambeau followed the finale with a cryptic “great run” post. And Justin explains why the tone of LIV’s final television broadcast made it nearly impossible to believe the league will return looking anything like the product we’ve known over the last several years.
Trey also looks back at his own decision not to join LIV when he was approached about hosting the tour and separates the people who took jobs with the league from the larger business problems now surrounding it.
Then comes the money.
LIV burned through at least billions of dollars trying to disrupt professional golf, but Trey questions what kind of lasting value was actually created once the funding disappeared. Justin explains why the entire model was always operating inside an artificial marketplace and why the clock eventually ran out.
They also discuss Greg Norman’s comments about LIV’s future, Alan Shipnuck’s reporting from Indianapolis and the striking image of workers taking down LIV signage after the finale and saying they were told the signs were no longer needed.
LIV unquestionably forced the PGA Tour to innovate and spend differently. Whether the league itself has any future left is now the much bigger question.
