| The Only Piece Of Content You WILL EVER Need To Grow Your Business | 09 Dec 2021 | 00:35:07 | |
Every social media platform demands complete devotion to its content production. If you're an entrepreneur building a business, you don't have hours to pour into creating content for multiple platforms every day. But there's one way to get around this problem. It's the solution that helps me be present in all social platforms I want to dominate and increases the searchability of my business on Google. It's the main pillar of my digital presence - my core content. In this episode of The Wellness Entrepreneur Podcast, I talk about how to zero in on core content for your business. How to figure out what fits, and what criteria you should keep in mind. But most importantly, I want to talk about how establishing my core content freed me from the social media rat race. As we covered in the previous episode, this podcast is my main content. The one thing that helps me boost my presence throughout the net. In today's discussion, I explain: - how to choose the perfect core content for you and your audience - why it builds trust and community with your audience - how it relieves the pressure to constantly post on socials - how batching can allow you create patterns in your content over time - the technique I use to generate fresh ideas for my podcast I even lay out my exact method to repurpose one piece of core content into over 6 additional forms of content without any extra work! Once you find your own core content, remember this one advice. Devote your energies into being regular at producing just this one thing. Don't be distracted by the shiny algorithms of other platforms. Over months of effort, you will find that your core content has done more for your business, than short lived fame on any one social media app can ever do. Listen to the full episode and come talk to me in my DMs. Which platform will you build your core content on? | How To Build An Audience Without Social Media | 02 Dec 2021 | 00:20:34
Does every small business owner have to be on social media now? What if you're someone who doesn't want to spend a large chunk of your day creating content for socials? What if you would rather spend that time focusing on your clients and doing the work you love? Let me tell you something about how I started my business. It was by distributing fliers (remember those) and building a community of audience the old fashioned way. Today I'm on social media because I enjoy it, but I am always very aware that I don't own these platforms. If Instagram shuts down tomorrow, it's goodbye to all my 10k+ followers! So every week, I spend a little time focusing on my core content and the main pillars of my online presence off social media. In this episode of The Wellness Entrepreneur Podcast, I tell you exactly what those pillars are and how you can utilize them to build an audience without ever stepping foot on a social media platform. Some of the things I get into are: - how building a website with good SEO helps draw in clients who are searching for you - the massive impact an active blog can have on your site's traffic - how you can build you core content - how repurposing content can be a wonderful way to save time and double your reach - the unbeatable advantage of an email list While everyone around you gets on the social media bandwagon, it's the perfect time for you to focus on all the ways you can make your content immortal on other channels' search using my strategies! Listen to the full episode to understand why I never worry about the impact of social media on my business, and how you can build your brand without a single social media account. | How To Build A Stellar Team With Zero Budget | 18 Nov 2021 | 00:20:33
Entrepreneurs on social media talk about their teams all the time. It's clearly a support system that helps these businesses thrive. You see these posts and videos, and wonder how nice it would be to have a team like that. But you're not at that place yet. Or maybe you don't really want an actual team of people to manage. So how can you get the real benefits of having a team dedicated to your work without hiring employees or spending a single penny? Let me tell you how in this episode of The Wellness Entrepreneur Podcast. This is a tool I first used when I was in that stage of my business, and it has helped me work through ideas, be more confident, dispel self-doubt, and remind myself of the value of my services. The main thing a team brings to the table is a diversity of perspectives and strengths. So, its true usefulness comes from the team members understanding your values and aligning with your vision. It's as simple (and cost effective) as reaching for people you look up to and having them fill up a boardroom you can access on tap. And the best bit is: - These people don't have the limiting beliefs that sometimes hold you back - They have already won the battles that you're fighting now - The more you call on them, the more you become like them - They wholeheartedly believe in your vision and mission and, most importantly, your ability to deliver Ready to build the team of your dreams? Catch the full episode to find out how I tap into the strengths of my own team members and get the boost I need, exactly when I need it. Once you've created your own team, come and tell me who they are in my DMs. Find the FULL SHOW NOTES here. __________________________________________ JOIN THE COLLECTIVE HERE - https://www.kirstykianifard.com/collective _____________________________________________________ IF YOU ENJOYED THIS EPISODE, YOU MAY ALSO LIKE: 7 Steps To Creating Instant Opportunities In Your Business - The Wellness Entrepreneur Podcast: 7 Steps To Creating Instant Opportunities In Your Business on Apple Podcasts The One About Fear - The Wellness Entrepreneur Podcast: The One About Fear on Apple Podcasts __________________________ Say hi to Kirsty Kianifard on social: Clubhouse: https://www.joinclubhouse.com/@kirstykianifard Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/kirstykianifard/ YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/user/KirstyKianifard Instagram: http://instagram.com/kirstykianifard

| The One About Fear | 11 Nov 2021 | 00:34:22 | |
Do you ever worry that your business will grind to a halt if you have to step away for a bit? Or maybe collapse entirely? You're not alone. Every small business owner has this fear. We build our brands around ourselves and feel like we're holding up the entire structure on a pinky finger. Well, I can tell you that I had to go through major surgery and take a few weeks off to realise that I still had these fears about my business, even at this stage of my career. In this episode of The Wellness Entrepreneur Podcast, I talk about the personal and business fears I confronted over the last week, and how they've already changed me. Here are some of my major ah-ha moments from the last couple of weeks: - Learning to trust in my own strengths when I had to go through the process alone - Understanding the true value of what I have built over the years - Reaffirming business decisions that I've been making - Understanding that while I was building great services, I was also bringing in amazing clients who would give me nothing but support when I needed some time away. Wellness business owners have to be on social media more than ever now. It brings us exposure to new clients across the world. But it also comes with a cost. Which is why I wanted to talk to someone who uses holistic practises daily to offset the potential negative energies that can come from spending hours on Instagram. While exploring her amazing journey into the world of wellness, we also talk about: - how she was led to this path by a connection on LinkedIn - how Reiki helps her build simple but powerful habits - why it's important to embody your beliefs and be authentic online - how her audience on social media embraces her practises more quickly than in the offline world - her tips on how to protect yourself while investing your energies in Instagram Lauren has had a long and deep connection with the wellness world and she's now building the path to transition away from her corporate job to working as a Reiki teacher full time. Social media is a big part of that journey, but Lauren isn't impatient. She's carefully maintaining a balance between working hard to promote her business and taking care of her mental and physical wellbeing. | When Manifesting Business Success Means Taking Risks With Sam Smith | 14 Oct 2021 | 00:42:45
Who wouldn't love to drop their mundane life, travel to a foreign country, and start an exciting new career? That's just what Samantha did. She left behind her degree in marketing and public relations to teach English in Madrid, and then started working for an influencer in the wellness space, which opened her eyes to a whole new world. But just when that huge risk seemed to be bringing amazing results, Sam lost the job. Unemployed in a foreign country, Sam Smith began doubting everything she believed about the universe helping her find her path. Until it occurred to her that maybe the universe was telling her that she was on the wrong path. In this episode of The Wellness Entrepreneur Podcast, I speak with Samantha Smith, who is a life and mindset coach, yoga instructor, wellness blogger, and most importantly, a teacher. She has taken many bold risks in the last six years, and I wanted to know how she built so much trust in herself and her ability to support her successes as well as failures. In this conversation we explore: - Why Sam left a stable career path to travel to Europe - Why believing in yourself is as important as believing in a higher plan - How losing her dream job was the worst and best thing to happen to her - At what point she knew her hobby as a blogger was becoming a thriving business - How money manifestation really works Samantha's journey to entrepreneurial success is one many small business owners dream of. What made it possible for Sam was her willingness to trust in herself and to leap when others might hesitate. As Sam puts it, there is magic in manifestation but it always involves our own efforts. | 7 Steps To Creating Instant Opportunities In Your Business | 07 Oct 2021 | 00:39:32
A lot of entrepreneurs dream of using social media to grow their business, but end up disheartened because they don't see their follower count rising fast enough. In their minds, they can't start selling to their audience unless they have a large following. But there are 7 things you can do right now that definitely don't require a large audience! Do these when you have 5000 followers, or 500, or 50! They are just as effective. Because my steps teach you how to create a relationship with potential customers who will seek out your services because they know, like, and trust you! In this episode of The Wellness Entrepreneur, I tell you the steps that have helped me grow my business, and which are guiding my clients towards their own success stories! Here is a quick look at some of what I talk about today! - Why you shouldn't wait around for clients to come and find you - How sincerely engaging with your audience can never make you seem salesy - Why imperfect action is better than waiting for the perfect moment to act - How to fill a gap in the market by creating your own opportunities - Why you shouldn't wait to reach milestone numbers before trying to collaborate with bigger names I have implemented every step I teach you in this episode, and the greatest lesson I have learned from them is that entrepreneurs must always trust that they are the masters of their own destiny. You don't have to wait for anyone, and you don't have to compare your journey with others in the industry. You have an incredible dream, and you are capable of making it happen! | The REAL Reason Your Clients Can't Afford to Work With You | 30 Sep 2021 | 00:22:56
When a client hesitates to invest in your programme or service even though it's exactly what they're searching for, you may start to second guess your offer. Is the price really too high? Maybe your package doesn't offer as much value as you thought it did? Stop right there. That's not the way to think about this objection! I decided to price the membership of The Collective modestly because I wanted to offer a low cost-high value space for entrepreneurs to grow their business and support each other's business journey. So, when I first opened the doors, I expected no objections on the price because I had fought to keep it affordable. And yet, that's exactly what I faced. Clients coming to me with concerns about investing in their own business growth because the price of a few cups of coffee seemed too high. Every business owner faces this hurdle. It's important to remember that this is not a reflection of the value you offer. But it gives us a good place to start assessing the clients you are attracting to your business. In this episode of the Wellness Entrepreneur Podcast, I arm you with 4 simple tasks that will help you understand how your own limiting money mindset interacts with your clients' objections and loses you business. This assessment will help you uncover: - your own frustration around your business - the client objections you face the most - how you are playing into the fears and hesitations from those around you - if you are really committed to creating the life you envision for yourself - who you are prioritizing over yourself and the life you want At the end of this episode, you will know how to step into your own success trajectory and attract the clients who relate to the journey you are on. Listen to the full episode and never question that the offer you worked so hard on is worth investing in. | The Success of All Future Launches Depends on These 7 Steps | 23 Sep 2021 | 00:32:11
The end of one launch is where the next one begins! Most entrepreneurs look at a completed launch and see success or failure. I see crucial information that can make sure that my next launch will be bigger and better. A launch is an exhausting and complicated process. And if you don't experience success during the first launch, it's natural to feel anxious and hesitant about the next one. If this one failed, why will the next succeed? In this episode of The Wellness Entrepreneur Podcast, I explain the 7 steps that make up my post-launch debrief and how they help me create my game plan for the next product or service I want to release in the market. This process is essential for the success of all our future launches because it provides a unique opportunity to examine everything that worked and everything that didn't. Here's a glimpse of what I cover: - how a debrief provides a sense of closure and a shift in perspective - the data we are looking for in the process - finding the aspects of the launch that gave us joy - why you must notice the ripple effects - when you should start preparing for the next launch This launch debrief will change the way you approach your next campaign. | 6 Steps to Creating Content Copy that Converts | 16 Sep 2021 | 00:35:01
As an entrepreneur you have to wear many hats, but did you ever imagine the most crucial one might be that of a gripping storyteller capturing the attention of potential clients with your words alone? Sounds hard, doesn't it? Well luckily for you, it really doesn't have to be. In fact it can be a totally intuitive and even cathartic process. There are six steps to my method. And with each one, you will get closer to perfecting the one story you need to tell the world. Your own. In this episode of The Wellness Entrepreneur Podcast, I break down the intimidating world of writing copy for your business into simple actionable steps, which you can apply to your marketing content immediately. Here's a sneak peak of what I cover: - Why written copy connects with your audience at a deeper level - How conversions should *actually* be measured - What I call "Goddess Marketing" and how it can help you write better copy - Why it's not a bad thing to repel some clients with the words you use - How you can find your voice without staring at a blank Google doc for hours At the end of the episode, I hand you my own formula for every piece of copy I write for my business. You see it in use in my emails, my website, my instagram reels, and this podcast. Listen to the episode and let me know if you will be using these steps to create content for your business from today. | The single most important thing you need to grow your business (and it's not strategy) | 09 Sep 2021 | 00:26:40
When a business owner tells herself that she has reached the limits of her growth, and doesn't want to scale up any more, it's one of two things. Either she has really reached the pinnacle of her journey and is completely satisfied with where she is. (In which case, I'm truly happy for her!) Or she is convincing herself that she doesn't want to grow any more because she has reached the end of her physical and mental capacity. In this episode of The Wellness Entrepreneur Podcast, I tackle a different struggle of entrepreneurs who are in the growth phase of their business. It's not your business strategy. It's your bandwidth. Inside this episode, I talk about: - my own experience with reaching the limits of my capacity as a mother and business owner - why I strongly advise business owners to evolve out of the one-to-one model - a method to gradually expand your bandwidth - how I built a sustainable business that allows me to focus on other important aspects of my life The most important tool in the hands of an entrepreneur is the ability to envision the future they want and also understand how much that future will demand of them. Building your own capacity while you're scaling your business is the best way to ensure that you will never stop growing. | 7 Simple Steps To Becoming An Award-Winning Entrepreneur | 02 Sep 2021 | 00:40:48
How can winning an award help your business? Winning awards that single you out as the best in your business can help tackle client resistance towards your offers. It's also a great marketing opportunity that can lead to many bigger things, especially if you're using the second step I outline in the episode to create an online presence online that aligns with your brand and shows your business journey! So, in this episode of The Wellness Entrepreneur Podcast, I decided to celebrate my spa teaching the final stages of The International Best Spa Award by telling you exactly how you can be an award-winning entrepreneur who's recognised for creating change. Let's deep dive into my 7 steps! - Ask yourself, "how can we do things differently?" - Create an omnipresence online, so award committees can find you easily - Collaborate with other entrepreneurs so that you can be visualized in a lineup of awardees and fit right in - Create a client journey that invests them in your own successes and have them rooting for you - Be the walking embodiment of the work you're passionate about - Understand your "why" to create a work-life blend that's all about doing what you love - Another way of getting yourself nominated that's a little controversial! And finally, remember to celebrate your nominations! Many awards depend on the support of your clients and audience, and unless you tell them about this amazing opportunity, they will never know to go and vote for you. You deserve your success! You've worked hard for it. So, talk about your journey and your successes often so the people who're rooting for you can know that their support mattered! | Cracking the Mindset Code With Lisa Denniss | 29 Jul 2021 | 00:41:04
Can we ever reach a level of success where we stop feeling self-doubt and discomfort? The biggest myth we allow ourselves to believe in is that we only need to work on our mindset when we're starting our entrepreneurial journey. I can tell you from my own experience that the work is never done. Even at this stage of my journey, I have to keep training my mind to embrace the discomfort of new challenges and power through my fears. So, in today's episode of The Wellness Entrepreneur Podcast, I talk to Lisa Denniss - a mindset coach who works with women to grow their business - and she explains how limiting beliefs can have a very real effect on what we can achieve. We explore: - How Lisa's imposter syndrome nearly kept her from starting the business she truly wanted to build - How Rapid Transformational Therapy unlocked and helped her deal with the root cause of the self-doubt that held her back - Learning the difference between procrastination and the intuitive know that something isn't right for you - How journaling daily can help create healthy habits and bring up perspectives you hadn't considered. - Why you should stop following anyone on social media who makes you feel small or triggered Learning to be kind to yourself is the first step to breaking the grip of imposter syndrome. Our minds will always pull us back to safety whenever we try to do new, unfamiliar things. It will tell us that someone else is doing a better job than us. But if we remember to work on our mindset, it'll give us the tools to help our fearful brain see the exciting possibilities in the unknown before us, and trust in ourselves to walk that path with confidence. Have you been hearing good things about LinkedIn lately, but feeling too overwhelmed to join one more platform? Despite its incredible ability to help connect people, LinkedIn has long been seen as a site for corporate recruitment that has no space for entrepreneurs. But that has changed dramatically in recent years. While business owners struggle to reach their ideal clients on social media sites like Instagram and Facebook, LinkedIn has quietly surged ahead. In today's episode of The Wellness Entrepreneur Podcast, I talk with Lindsay Mitrosilis - a LinkedIn Mentor and Business Strategist - who explains why this relatively small platform might be the best and fastest route to getting in front of the right clients today. Listen to us dig deep into: - Why Lindsay wouldn't give up entrepreneurship, even for $300K/year - What makes LinkedIn more generous about letting your content reach more people - Why consistency is less important than engagement on this platform - How companies are spending more on wellness to keep their employees happy - Why you should repurpose your instagram content for LinkedIn - Which aspects of your profile your should optimize to get the most out of LinkedIn There are only 3 million users who regularly upload content on LinkedIn at this time. Most of them are getting incredible reach that wouldn't be possible on other platforms, which prioritize an ad spend business model. This is the time to jump in and use LinkedIn's tools for your wellness business. As Lindsay makes it clear, the content is not a barrier. | Taking Ownership of Our Healing Journey With Melissa Campbell | 01 Jul 2021 | 00:46:18
The world can be very slow at adopting wellness practices, even when it demonstrably leads to improvement in mental and physical wellbeing. While some spaces are beginning to value the effectiveness of practices like Reiki, there's still a long way to go before these resources become widely available to the ones who need it most. This is why it's so important to show up everyday and be available to the people reaching out for help, so they can begin their journey towards healing. In this episode of The Wellness Entrepreneur Podcast, I speak with Melissa Campbell, a Reiki Master who teaches energy healing to women, and we discuss the internal resources that every person is conditioned to suppress since childhood, and how Reiki helps amplify this support system! Listen in as we explore: - How access to this reserve of internal support changes behaviour and attitude - The experience of suddenly having more resources for your mental wellbeing - Focusing internally and away from external validation and approval - Why it's important to show up as the person who's done the work, so people can reach out to you for support - How people are seeking out practitioners they like across the world, instead of settling for the nearest in-person teacher - How the resilience people have shown in the last eighteen months will serve them for a lifetime Learning to trust our intuition and feelings opens up a world of internal emotional support that we've conditioned ourselves to ignore due to social cynicism. But it's crucial to tap into this massive emotional resource, so we can begin the journey of healing ourselves. | The Gateway From Lawyer To Kundalini Yoga Teacher With Zoe Swan | 18 Jun 2021 | 00:53:56
Many of us come into the wellness space from an unexpected starting point searching for that one thing we need to be clear on - who we want to serve. When we first enter, often the biggest conflict is refining that niche and figuring out what we have to offer and why we are the right person to offer it. If you're a multi-passionate practitioner, this might feel like a very confusing time. But so long as you are curious and open-minded about different practices in this space, you will eventually land on the perfect way to help your clients. In this episode of The Wellness Entrepreneur Podcast, I speak to Zoe Swan, a Kundalini Yoga teacher and Wellness Consultant, who started her career as a lawyer but found herself gravitating towards wellness while looking for strategies to survive the legal & academic world. Zoe's path to entrepreneurship was not an obvious one, but she never gave up. To understand how she built her business as the founder of The Practice of Wellbeing, we talk about: - How Zoe began noticing the harsh effects of stress and anxiety on the human body and mind - Why wellness practices aren't effective unless you fully commit to them - How Zoe decided that the richness of her skills and experiences put her in a position to teach others - How she went from helping others to taking better care of herself - Why you need a sound business model in place when stepping into the wellness world as an entrepreneur - Why you need to know who your ideal client is to succeed The world demands perfection from us in our professional life, and the biggest mistake a wellness entrepreneur can make is performing that perfection while promoting themselves. After all, business is all about connections, and allowing people to see ours ups and downs as we blaze a trail for our clients and communities. | How To Price Your Products & Services With Ease | 10 Jun 2021 | 00:35:46
Can the thought of pricing be anything but nauseating for an entrepreneur? Absolutely! We put a lot of ourselves into our offers, and that has the natural effect of making us believe that a rejection from a client because of our price is a rejection of the product or service we created. But that's completely untrue. In this episode of The Wellness Entrepreneur Podcast, I talk about the mindset you should develop around pricing, so that this part of running your business feels seamless and organic instead of something to dread. To help change the way you approach pricing now, here are some of the things I dive deep into: - You can never "charge your worth" because no one can put a price on you. - Why your pricing is your marketing! - How you'll always be too expensive for some and not enough for others - Why pricing speaks to the level of commitment that your client needs to show - Practice pricing according to your own instincts and not by what others are doing - Sometimes it's just not the right time for a client to say yes - How a rejection may be creating space for the right client Pricing should be something that you are excited about! Those numbers are not a reflection of your self-worth. As you build your wellness business, your offers will change, as will the clients who show up for them. Your prices will always be just a small part of why they chose to work with you. | Supporting Your Mental Health As An Ambitious Entrepreneur | 03 Jun 2021 | 00:47:46
At what stage of your business growth should you prioritize your mental health? When is it a good time to invest in support on your entrepreneurial journey? Is it normal to struggle with motivation while running a business you love? After last week's brilliant episode with Saša Harper, the feedback we got from the wellness community spoke volumes about the urgent need to increase accessibility in our businesses. But that also got me thinking about the struggles of entrepreneurship which don't get talked about enough, as we hurry towards the next milestone in our business success story. In today's episode of The Wellness Entrepreneur Podcast, I talk to you directly about my own experiences and struggles while growing a thriving wellness business. Inside the episode, I explain: - How I check in on my own mental health - Why I seek out discomfort and how it helps me grow - The need for a support system of fellow entrepreneurs - The necessity of setting boundaries and ensuring that our own needs are met Your entrepreneurial journey will span years of your life, which is why it's so important to treat your wellness practice as something that grows and evolves as you grow and evolve. Taking care of your own mind and body is ultimately a crucial investment in the success of your business. | Neurodiversity and Accessibility in the Wellness Space With Saša Harper | 27 May 2021 | 01:03:46
Sometimes the best advice can feel inaccessible because it speaks to a neurotypical audience by default. This is especially disheartening in the wellness space because most of us gravitate towards it seeking the comfort and support it offers. So, in today's episode of the Wellness Entrepreneur podcast, I'm speaking to Saša Harper, a Personal Coach from Liverpool, UK, who is actively working to make the wellness industry a more welcoming and accessible space for neurodiverse people. Saša has spent a decade in physics education, and now uses their knowledge of the education field, physics, and their own experience with a late diagnosis of ADHD to help people achieve a better understanding of their own emotions and behaviours. In this episode, we talk in depth about: - How Saša got their Master in Particle Physics, despite their struggles with the education system - What it was like to live with undiagnosed ADHD until the age of thirty-three - How Instagram helped connect Saša with others with their symptoms and struggles, leading to unexpected validation and support - Why getting a formal diagnosis was empowering, and how labels must have purpose - The contented disability status of those diagnosed with ADHD - Why the super-power narrative around neurodiverse people disrupts communication between people by focusing on labels. - How most people don't realise they're not being inclusive, unless someone close to them is neurodiverse. - Ways in which you can make your business and venues accessible, and why you should make it visible in your website and social media. There are many barriers that keep neurodiverse people from experiencing the full benefits of the wellness space. But as we try to come up with innovative solutions to these challenges, we actively improve our services as well as the whole of the wellness industry. | How Facebook Ads Can Help Supercharge Small Business Growth with Emily Hirsh | 20 May 2021 | 00:40:51
How do you know when it's time to invest in Facebook Ads? How big does your audience have to be for it to work? Is it cheating if you gain followers from ads instead of organic growth? Today's guest on the podcast will answer all these questions and more! Emily Hirsh is a leading Digital Marketing Strategist and the founder of Hirsh Marketing. She's worked with many clients who run digital empires across the world and helped them super-charge their reach. And in this episode of The Wellness Entrepreneur, I ask all the questions that entrepreneurs with young businesses have about digital marketing and the true effectiveness of Facebook ads. Dive in with us, as we explore: - The ONE element you must have ready before you use ads to amplify your reach - Whether ads works even if you have a small budget for marketing - What are cold and warm audiences, and how can you ensure that you're reaching out to both with your content? - Images, videos, or copy: what stops the scroll and what gets your prospects to click on your content? - Why Emily decided to start an agency and how having a team catapulted her growth - How you can absolutely run ads for your own business yourself, but why you may choose not to. Emily drops a lot of valuable information in this episode, and for any entrepreneur who is ready to grow their business, this interview is a goldmine. But beyond the reach and impact of advertising on social media, Emily also gives us a candid view into her business philosophy and the lessons she's learned while running her agency. | Strengthening the Body Through Breath With Karolina Fung-On | 13 May 2021 | 00:42:49
The world gives a lot of information to new mothers about how they should care for their babies. But it fails to support women in caring for their own bodies after the rigours of childbirth. Today's guest discovered this gap in knowledge early in her training as a fitness instructor, and found the perfect tool to help strengthen women's bodies in Hypopressives. In this episode of The Wellness Entrepreneur Podcast, I chat with Karolina Fung-On, Senior UK Hypopressives Trainer and boss at Fitness by the Sea. We talk about the many ways in which society dismisses the physical challenges of new mothers and Karolina's determination to spread awareness about the issue. We also explore: - How motherhood helped Karolina figure out how little is known about women's health issues after childbirth - The challenges of teaching physically exhausting classes during her own pregnancy - Why society's ignorance causes women to neglect problems like incontinence, which can create larger issues later in life - The need for early intervention by medical practitioners and awareness in young girls - New mothers need time to strengthen their internal muscles, and this needs to be normalized in society - The freedom entrepreneurship gives Karolina to implement changes whenever she want to in her business Women's health is often overlooked out of embarrassment or lack of knowledge. But with wellness entrepreneurs like Karolina leading the charge, we can hope for a world where women are taught early to take the best care of their bodies and speak freely about all of their health issues. Every wellness entrepreneur aspires to create a business that helps people. But what are the benefits and drawbacks of living a life of giving to others? The best person to answer that question must be the woman who just received an MBE for her decades of tireless charitable work. In this interview, we explore: - The challenges and joy of caring for sixty teenagers as a housemistress - How giving your money or your time can be beneficial to your mental and physical health - The pressures of being the upbeat, optimistic one - Recognising and fully dealing with your own grief - Nearly deleting the email that informed her of the MBE award - Why higher-ups in a company should set charitable examples for employees to follow The world has become more generous in the last year as we all go through a once-in-a-lifetime trial together. | Intuitive Business Building with Holistic Tattooist Suzie Smith | 15 Apr 2021 | 00:51:04
What if you're passionate about more than one field? How do you know which one is the right fit for you? When choosing a niche to build your business, you have to take many material and spiritual considerations into account. All of which can leave you terribly confused and delay your commitment to one path. But what if that delay isn't a bad thing? In today's episode, I talk to the brilliant wellness entrepreneur, Suzie Smith, who had to make that decision between her successful yoga teaching business and a developing talent in handpoked tattoo artistry. Listen to her lay out her journey, as we explore: - How Suzie tried to be practical about her artistic pursuits and trained in yoga to teach it as she traveled across South America - How tattooing her friends for fun slowly turned into a lucrative side hustle that was taking up more and more of her interest and time - The balancing of two businesses and the moment when it tilted in one definite direction - Why having a private studio was so crucial to the experience of comfort and intimacy that Suzie wanted to provide her clients - How building a brand is not about the name or the follower count, but about the tiny, tedious everyday decisions that slowly create a business Some things take time to fit into place in your life, and as Suzie found out, the universe gives us a lot of signals about when that time has come. This episode has a lot of great nuggets, like not forcing a decision when it makes us uncomfortable and how walking your dog can be the wellness practice you weave into your life. Listen to it here! | Ayurvedic Science in the Modern Wellness World with Puja Vashisht | 08 Apr 2021 | 00:59:59
Do the endless 'quick fixes' popping up in the wellness space ever make your eyes roll? Yes? ME TOO! The reality is - the superficial nature of these hacks can often turn well meaning clients and practitioners away from practices that could truly benefit their overall health and wellbeing (and business!) Afterall, the goal of the wellness space has always been to find ways to support people to support themselves, but it's becoming increasingly important that we check who we're getting our information from, and how solid these sources really are. Today, I talk with Puja Vashisht - a learned Ayurvedic practitioner and wellness coach - and we get honest about the difficulties clients can face in taking the often hard steps to improve their lives and businesses, and abandon the mindset of reaching for quick fixes. Puja takes us through her path from being a skeptical child growing up in a household that practised the tenets of Ayurveda to learning to appreciate and pass on the well documented research behind it as an adult. Inside the episode, we explore: - How Ayurveda and Yoga only became competitive once it was imported into western society - How the umbrella of the wellness industry functions to devalue a practice like Ayurveda - Why practising Ayurveda without acknowledging its roots makes it less potent - The focus of Ayurvedic medicine on digestion, and how the application of this millennia old practice can bring small but swift changes to your whole body - Why wellness practices are anything but 'fluffy' and how removing this stigma from our industry starts with how wellness entrepreneurs themselves view and grow their businesses It's super important we keep an open mind to all the new information coming our way, but it's equally crucial to listen with a kind but questioning mind before we invest in our health and wellness. If you've been skeptical of Ayurveda or curious about its medical wisdom, listen to Puja explain the rigorous study and responsible application involved in the field and decide if this old medicine is what your wellness journey is waiting for. | Doing Life & Business With Astrology with Francesca Oddie | 18 Mar 2021 | 00:49:09
Have you ever wondered how the alignment of planets can supercharge your business growth? No? Well, I didn't either. Until, I came across Francesca Oddie, that is - the most analytical astrologer you'll ever meet - and got curious about what our birth charts have to say about the paths we choose in life and work. Turns out, it has quite a bit to say! According to today's guest, the field of astrology exists to help you check-in with your true life purpose, and to keep you on a path that takes you directly to the heights you were always meant to reach. It's a tool that helps you hone your business strategy but it can also help you get a deeper understanding of yourself. In this eye-opening conversation, we explore: - What it's like to leave a steady job in accounting to build a successful career as an astrologer - How knowing that you're doing something you love can help you get through the initial hard years of starting a business - How instagram can be leveraged to find the right audience for a very niche business - What some common astrological phrases actually mean, and how you can use these concepts to position your product and services - The realistic view of life astrology offers that helps counter toxic positivity in the wellness industry Keeping an open mind to something we can't yet fully explain can often bring us blinding insights about our own life! If you're ready to look at your business (and life) through the lens of astrology, then dive right into this episode. | 9 Steps To Establishing Fierce Business Boundaries | 25 Feb 2021 | 00:47:43
You won't see this coming. Because in all honesty not many of us do. We get so caught up in the next 'uplevel' that we never ask ourselves if we've really got what it takes internally to sustain it. The constant exhaustion. The endless giving. The feeling like it's never enough. It's all part of it. And whilst these feelings are so very real - the meaning behind them are often entirely misunderstood. We see it all as an indicator of failure but what if it's something else? This year my online business grew exponentially. I smashed through all my 2020 targets and currently support five times the amount of clients I did this time last year. I mean it's all really happening - I'm fulfilling my mission of supporting wellness entrepreneurs to get their tools out in the world en masse to create a kinder, more supportive and more inclusive world. In fact, as I write that, I feel incredibly emotional because I believe this is what I was put on this here to do. With this growth has come a LOT of shedding, internal upgrades and at times there has been a lag. The rapid growth meant sometimes my inner work didn't have time to catch up and that the boundaries and energetic protection wasn't where it needed to be - yet! In the entrepreneurial sphere there's not enough emphasis on the personal becoming that's required to hold the business success many are seeking. So often when things get sticky we stall at the very moment we need to instead ask - "what's required internally to support my future vision and mission in this world?" In today's Wellness Entrepreneur Podcast episode I lay out the 9 key steps to establishing fierce business boundaries that ensure your growth is not only sustained but escalated as a result of making the internal work as solid and magnetic as the externally business building. Ready to take things to the next level? Let's dive in. What does boudoir photography, body acceptance and tapping into your personal pleasure have to do with becoming a wildly successful entrepreneur. | My Story With Autism | 21 Jan 2021 | 00:54:02
My life has never quite been the same since autism entered our reality. It plunged our family into deep grief, massive confusion and fear about the future - that was almost two years ago now and this steep learning curve has taught us so much. There've been days when I've questioned if running a rapidly growing business is the right thing to do (the mum guilt has been intense). There's also been days that I'm not sure I would have gotten through if it wasn't for having my business - the one thing that fulfills my purpose and gives me something that is just mine. In this week's Wellness Entrepreneur Podcast episode I share my story of our Sohl and the reality of caring for a child with autism whilst being a fiercely ambitious entrepreneur. I reveal:
This episode isn't only for those who are finding it hard to juggle growing a business with caring for someone with autism and other additional needs - this episode is also for those who want to genuinely contribute to making the world a safer and more inclusive space for all - where difference is celebrated and ignorance is no longer an excuse.
