The Gospel is the BEST NEWS EVER!! And that’s why we celebrate often. And the Scriptures carry the precedent for celebrating, because again and again, God proves to be the hero of every story. Not sure you have anything to celebrate in your life? Or whether God is actually behind it? Listen and see if this message helps you sort it out.

When we think of a river, we do not envision something that stays in one place. In fact, a river does not stand still - a river flows! In Ezekiel 47, God gives the prophet a vision of what happens when the river of forgiveness, healing, and hope flows out of the church. The Valley Church will be a river church. We will be on a mission. We will be a church in and for the community. This series will serve as the catalyst for how The Valley Church will punch holes in the darkness throughout our region.

God fulfilled His rescue mission with the sending of Jesus. Isaiah captures in poetic snapshot the span of Jesus' life in Isaiah 53:1-5. He came as a tender shoot, a baby born in a manger, and died on the cross as one considered accursed. There was no grandeur about Him, no palace or political presence about Him. He was homeless traveling preacher and miracle worker. You and I may have found Him fascinating, but we would have scoffed at the idea that He was Messiah: He acted nothing like what we'd been taught to expect. But in scoffing, we would have been in danger of missing the most precious gift anyone can receive: the gift of life. Have you received His gift?
