People should be having friendly competition over who can make the tastiest dishes and throw the best party, not over who can be the most ethical or most sustainable. We can’t be sustainable on our own, for that we need collaboration. It’s also more fun.

Judy Wicks has been working for over 50 years to make her neighbourhood - and neighbourhoods around the world - better for everyone and better for nature. If you haven’t heard of her, you’ve almost definitely heard of the projects she has been involved with. She was an early pioneer of ‘farm fresh’ food in restaurants - believe it or not, that was a rarity when she started out. She hosted the signing of the declaration of Interdependence which effectively launched the B-Corp movement. She is currently campaigning hard to keep corporate interests out of the legalisation of marijuana, so that local farmers and the communities that have been disproportionately harmed by the war on drugs, can get a share of the $3 Billion industry that is emerging. And, if that's not enough, she was also the founding partner of the business which is now known as Urban Outfitters.
