“Shameful Conduct”: The Sentencing of Constance Marten and Mark Gordon
Saison 1 · Épisode 30
lundi 15 septembre 2025 • Durée 31:51
Constance Marten and Mark Gordon have gone to prison for 14 years for the “shameful behaviour” which led to the death of their baby daughter Victoria. In this episode Caroline and Jack have all the details from the Old Bailey, as the Judge said they had painted themselves as caring parents, but instead of cherishing their daughter, they had wilfully neglected her, exposing her to the freezing cold for days as they ran from police and social workers. During two separate trials spanning almost two years he said the pair showed no remorse and tried to blame everybody else.

The Verdict
Saison 1 · Épisode 29
lundi 14 juillet 2025 • Durée 41:05
In January 2023, Constance Marten and Mark Gordon went on the run with their newborn baby Victoria. After a nationwide hunt, the couple were found. Two days later, so was the body of Victoria.
Last year a jury found the pair guilty of concealing the birth of a child and perverting the course of justice. However, unable to reach a verdict on the charge of manslaughter, the jury was discharged. Constance Marten and Mark Gordon have faced a retrial on this charge, and today, we finally have the verdict.
Caroline and Jack also sit down with Detective Superintendent Lewis Basford, who helped lead the hunt for Constance Martin and Mark Gordon, in an exclusive interview.
