# 101 - Leadership Is What You Do28 sept. 202600:29:49

Everybody wants to talk about leadership. Fewer people want to talk about the evidence.

In this episode, I break down what leadership actually looks like in sports. It’s not a title, a speech, being the loudest guy in the room, or telling everybody else what they need to do. Leadership is behavior. It’s doing the work, taking care of your own business, thinking for yourself, knowing your values, and becoming someone other people can depend on.

We get into emotional intelligence, Transparency EQ, self-awareness, herd mentality, accountability, and why great leaders often need to be selfish before they can be selfless. We also talk about something that gets overlooked: actual results matter. Data matters. Stats matter. Evidence matters. If your actions don’t support the story you’re telling about yourself, eventually you’re just making shit up.

You don’t need to chase leadership or become a leader overnight. Take care of yourself. Do the work. Build evidence. Build trust. Know who you are. Eventually, you may look around and realize people have started following you.

Leadership isn’t something you announce. It’s something you build.

# 100 - The First Domino & The Cost of Hedging22 sept. 202600:38:29

When a hitter struggles, we usually look at the swing first. Hands. Bat path. Load. Mechanics.

But what if the swing is the last domino to fall?

In this episode, Curtis breaks down what happens before the swing — preparation, timing, attention, pitch recognition, decision-making and commitment — and why constantly trying to fix mechanics can cause us to miss the actual problem.

We also dig into something that goes far beyond baseball: hedging our success.

We say we want something, but leave ourselves an escape route. We want to attack, but also want to protect ourselves from being wrong. We want confidence without risking failure. We want the result without completely committing to the decision.

Eventually, preparation has to end.

The pitch is coming.

See it. Decide. Commit. Swing.

Learn to look upstream, find the first domino, stop hedging, and give yourself a real chance to find out what you’re capable of.

# 99 - Twelve Hours in Vancouver & The Autonomic Nervous System20 sept. 202600:20:21

Twelve hours, five games, one weekend at a heavily scouted showcase — and the same pattern kept showing up. Some players got tight, tried to manufacture something, started competing against the radar gun instead of the hitter in the box. Others didn't change at all. Same tempo, same decisions, same version of themselves whether three people were watching or three hundred.

In this episode, Curtis breaks down what actually separates those two groups — not talent, not toughness, but access. Access to your skill, your attention, your decision-making, under pressure. He introduces E-Q-O-S (Emotional Intelligence Operating System), the framework he uses to help athletes recognize what's happening inside them before it starts making their decisions for them, and unpacks why "just relax" and "stay within yourself" are true but useless advice unless a player knows what his own baseline actually feels like.

Also covered: why attention is the sixth tool, what a fifteen-year-old's sleep and screen time have to do with his first-step reaction time in the outfield, and what Curtis is finding at the professional level about the fractions of a second that get decided long before a player puts on the uniform.

# 98 - The Cost of Not Noticing14 sept. 202600:22:03

Good decisions and bad decisions usually start before the moment you act.

They start with what you noticed, what you missed, how clearly you were thinking, how recovered you were, and whether you were actually aware of what was happening around you and inside you.

In this episode, we look at how attention works, why your brain filters more than you realize, how recovery affects decision-making, why switching and phone use drain attention, and how stress can push you back toward automatic behavior.

We also break down how better awareness helps you recognize more information, slow down reactions, and make stronger decisions under pressure.

You’ll leave with simple ways to train attention, interrupt autopilot, and create more space between what happens and how you respond.

Because better decisions start with better awareness and what you don’t notice still affects you.

# 97 - Who Are You When Nobody Is Watching?10 sept. 202600:14:48

I’m tired of talking about recruiting. Tired of the same old same old.. The conversations full of coach words and subjective opinions.

Rankings. Exposure. Commitments. Opinions. Promises. Social media noise.

TransferEQ was built to cut through a lot of that bullshit, but this episode goes a couple layers deeper.

Who are you without baseball?

Who are you without your phone, your title, your followers, your job, your sport, or somebody watching?

When was the last time you did one thing and just did that one thing?

This episode is about attention, identity, family, character, technology, silence, and the person you’re becoming when there’s nobody around to impress.

No motivational show.

No pretending.

Just some uncomfortable questions worth asking.

Because your life isn’t content.

It’s your life.

And you matter.

# 95 - Where is your attention going.05 sept. 202600:05:29

Most people don’t need to work harder. They need to understand where their attention, energy and capacity are actually going.

In this episode, I explain the thinking behind ResetEQ, TransferEQ, RecruitEQ and EQ-OS, and why attention may be one of the most important performance variables we still don’t measure well enough.

I also break down the Labour Day ResetEQ offer: two people, six months, individual TransferEQ dashboards, WHOOP integration, weekly coaching with me, PelchAI support and a system designed to turn data into better daily decisions.

This isn’t about adding more to your life. It’s about seeing your life more clearly, identifying what is draining your capacity, and building better structure around what matters.

Attention is the sixth tool.

# 95 - The Standard Doesn’t Change. The Delivery Does.04 sept. 202600:14:43

Baseball has more information than ever, but information only matters if coaches can actually transfer it to players.

In this episode, Curtis Pelletier talks about why great coaching requires more than baseball knowledge. It requires clarity, structure, transparency and an understanding of the generation standing in front of you.

From unwritten expectations and last-minute lineup decisions to disorganized communication and disconnected development plans, too many players are forced to guess what coaches want from them.

The answer is not lowering standards.

It is making those standards unmistakably clear.

Curtis breaks down why organizations should simplify communication, tell players where they stand, build consistent development systems across age groups, and create a common language that follows players as they progress.

The standard doesn’t change. The delivery does.

# 94 - THE DATA PROBLEM MEETS REALITY02 sept. 202600:05:36

A deep dive into what baseball recruiting gets wrong when rankings, measurables, profiles, and exposure start to look like certainty.

In this episode, I break down why a verified number is only as useful as the context behind it, why Fit Score should be separated from Confidence Score, and why the player a college recruits is not always the player it gets once failure, fatigue, competition, and pressure show up.

I also get into summer baseball, why it exposes players in ways showcases often cannot, and why the next evolution of recruiting has to move beyond profiles and rankings toward something more complete.

Better evidence. Better context. Better fit. Better decisions.

#93 - When Exposure Becomes the Product02 sept. 202600:04:43

The Recruiting Illusion: When Exposure Becomes the Product

Baseball has more recruiting platforms, showcases, rankings, video, metrics and exposure than at any point in the history of the game.

So why does recruiting still feel so confusing?

In this solo piece, I break down what I believe has happened to the recruiting process — and the difference between actually helping a player find the right opportunity and simply selling that player more visibility.

I’ve seen recruiting from a lot of different seats: as a player, coach, scout, general manager and now working directly with athletes and programs. And the same problem keeps showing up.

We confuse being seen with being wanted.

They are not the same thing.

I talk about verified data versus self-reported information, objective evaluation versus opinion, the value — and limitations — of showcases and recruiting platforms, and why collecting more information doesn't automatically create better decisions.

Most importantly, I get into what I believe recruiting should actually answer:

Who is this player?

What can he actually do?

What environment fits him?

What does the evidence support?

And where does a real opportunity exist?

Exposure can create attention.

But attention without fit, context and opportunity is just noise.

This is my perspective on where baseball recruiting is right now — and where I believe it needs to go next.

# 92 - See Better: A Manifesto31 juil. 202600:33:59

What if the biggest obstacle to performance isn't talent, discipline, confidence, or motivation?

What if it's the way we see?

In this special episode, I step away from interviews, frameworks, and coaching conversations to share something far more personal: The Manifesto.

This isn't a memoir. It isn't a motivational speech. And it isn't another system promising better performance.

It's a reflection on the principles that have survived every season of my life.

From professional baseball to business. From photography to recovery. From coaching athletes to raising three daughters. Every chapter taught me the same lesson in a different language:

Performance begins with perception.

In this episode, I explore why behaviour is only the evidence, why patterns tell the truth, why standards shape identity, why compression creates capacity, and why the quality of our lives will never consistently exceed the quality of our perception.

This is the philosophy behind EQ-OS, Mindset U, and TransferEQ.

More importantly, it's the philosophy I try to live.

If you've ever felt like you're doing everything right but still not getting where you want to go, this conversation isn't about giving you more information.

It's an invitation to see differently.

Because once you change the way you see...

everything else begins to change.

See Better.

# 91 - Peter Torres III 16 juil. 202601:09:28

Most athletes and coaches overlook the power of systems, but Petey Torres the Third reveals how structure transforms chaos into consistent performance and personal growth. Ready to upgrade your approach? This episode uncovers the core principles behind building accountability, mental resilience, and a winning culture through simple yet powerful systems that stick for the long haul. Petey, a former college baseball catcher turned personal development coach, shares how his own journey from bouncing around college ball to creating a niche in player development led him to develop systems that truly stick. You’ll discover why chaos and chaos-driven training fall short and how building habits rooted in structure fuels confidence, capacity, and clarity, ultimately elevating your game and mindset. He highlights the importance of tracking not just performance metrics but also emotional and mental health through innovative tools like Whoop and schedule-based routines, fostering real growth both on and off the field. In this episode, we break down:

  • How to create a system that cultivates consistency amid chaos, including real-world examples from baseball and life
  • Why structure in training lasts longer than just technical skill, it's about cultivating resilience and identity
  • The role of accountability, leading by action, not just words, in developing mental toughness
  • Why low capacity and unorganized thinking limit athletic IQ, and how systemized habits can expand both
  • Practical strategies for implementing what Petey calls the “10-10 Method” and other simple routines to control what you can

If you're a coach, athlete, or parent frustrated by the chaos and short-term fixes dominating youth sports, this episode is your blueprint for long-term success. Discover how a mindset centred on systems and processes, rather than outcomes alone, can redefine your priorities, performance, and personal growth. Perfect for those tired of surface-level advice and ready to grasp the fundamentals that truly move the needle. With a background in training professional athletes and coaching youth, Petey Torres the Third exemplifies how disciplined systems create culture and lasting change. His insights challenge conventional thinking, proving that simple, consistent habits outperform high-intensity chaos when it comes to developing capacity, confidence, and joy in sport and life. Tune in for a conversation that cuts through the noise and gets to the core of what sustained success really looks like. Get ready to rethink your approach, because every great performance begins with the system underneath.

# 90 - EQ-OS THE BOOK EXPLAINED: Why This Book Exists06 juil. 202600:13:49

This episode breaks down Why This Book Exists from EQ-OS: The Baseball Operating System.

This section explains where EQ-OS actually came from.

It did not come from rejecting modern baseball development. It came from going all in on it. Swing data, movement patterns, bat path, sequencing, timing, output, K-Vest, Rapsodo, HitTrax, force plates, Blast Motion, and every tool that promised to make development clearer.

And a lot of it helped.

But over time, one problem kept showing up.

Two players could have similar tools, similar movement, similar data, and completely different game performance.

One player looked unbelievable in training and disappeared in games. Another player looked less impressive in a controlled setting but still competed when the game got uncomfortable.

That forced the better question:

Are we evaluating tools, or are we evaluating what a player can actually access under pressure?

This video explains why EQ-OS exists: to complete the development conversation, not replace it.

Players are not just mechanics.
They are not just tools.
They are not just outputs.
They are systems.

And if we want to develop players honestly, we have to understand the system underneath the swing.

# 89 - EQ-OS THE BOOK EXPLAINED: Letter to the Reader06 juil. 202600:13:37

This episode breaks down the Letter to the Reader from EQ-OS: The Baseball Operating System.

This section opens the real conversation: why do talented players change when the game gets uncomfortable?

Players can dominate training, look clean in the cage, throw electric bullpens, and still look completely different once pressure shows up. The usual answers are familiar:

“He needs confidence.”
“He’s in his head.”
“He needs to relax.”
“He just needs to trust himself.”

Some of that may be partly true. But it is not deep enough.

The Letter to the Reader introduces the central EQ-OS lens: baseball is not just testing mechanics, work ethic, confidence, IQ, or mental toughness. It is testing what a player can hold.

Before the stats tell the truth, behaviour usually shifts first. The body speeds up. Breathing changes. Decisions tighten. Tempo changes. Freedom disappears. Then everybody starts talking about the swing.

That is backwards.

This video explains why a lot of what gets called a baseball problem is actually a system problem. It also sets up the bigger purpose of EQ-OS: giving players, parents, and coaches a better way to read breakdown before the damage becomes obvious.

# 87 - EQ-OS THE BOOK EXPLAINED: Book Opening, Cover Promise, and Core Definition05 juil. 202600:11:07

This is the opening video in the EQ-OS Explained series.
In this episode, Curtis Pelletier introduces the core promise of EQ-OS: The Baseball Operating System and explains what EQ-OS actually means.

EQ-OS stands for Emotional Intelligence Operating System.
It is the system underneath baseball performance. The part that decides whether a player can still function when the game stops feeling comfortable.

Baseball is not just testing talent.
It is testing stability.

Every at-bat, mound visit, strikeout, bad hop, error, benching, slump, failed adjustment, and pressure moment is asking one question:
How stable is this player when the environment stops cooperating?

That is what EQ-OS is built to answer.

This video sets the foundation for the whole series. Before getting into chapters, tools, scoring, player breakdown, parent pressure, and the modern baseball environment, we have to define the lens.
Because a lot of what gets called a confidence issue, focus issue, mechanics issue, or mental game issue is often something deeper.
It is a system issue.

“Talent gets noticed, but regulation decides what shows up when baseball gets uncomfortable.”

For players, parents, coaches, and organizations who want to understand why talent does or does not transfer under pressure, this is where the conversation starts.

# 88 - EQ-OS THE BOOK EXPLAINED: Foreword: For the People Who Think They Don't Need This05 juil. 202600:24:58

This episode breaks down the Foreword: For the People Who Think They Don’t Need This from EQ-OS: The Baseball Operating System.

This section is for the player who thinks the answer is one more drill, one more cue, one more video, one more piece of gear, or one more private lesson.

It is for the parent who is doing everything the herd is doing because everyone else looks terrified their kid is falling behind.

And it is for the coach who means well, but may be burying players under too much data, too many cues, too much noise, and too much “development” that isn’t actually solving the real problem.

The foreword sets the tone for the entire book.

EQ-OS is not anti-data.
It is not anti-development.
It is not anti-ambition.

It is anti-missing-the-actual-problem.

Because a lot of what gets labelled as a confidence issue, focus issue, mechanics issue, or mental game issue is often something deeper.

It is a system issue.

In this video, Curtis Pelletier explains why modern baseball players are often not undertrained. They are overloaded. And in many cases, the adults around them are adding more weight while calling it help.

This is where the EQ-OS lens starts.

Not with another slogan.
Not with another hype speech.
Not with another “just be confident” line that sounds good and does nothing.

This is about seeing what baseball is actually exposing underneath performance.

“A lot of players today are not undertrained. They are overloaded.”

# 86 - How Athletes Build Real Confidence: The Boring Part Is the Point03 juil. 202600:31:56

This Mindset U discussion is about the work most athletes skip because it feels too small, too boring, or too repetitive.

But that is usually the work that builds proof.

Confidence is not magic.
Confidence is not something your coach yells into you.
Confidence is not something your parents can hand you from the stands.

Confidence requires evidence.

In this session, Coach Curtis breaks down the 10/10 Method, the goal blueprint, the importance of doing the little things, and the question every athlete has to keep asking:

Am I doing what I said I would do?

Not for the coach.
Not for the parent.
For myself.

Listen for:
1. Why boring work builds real confidence
2. Why your blueprint only matters if your behaviour matches it
3. How to use the 10/10 Method in baseball, school, training, and life
4. Why confidence comes from proof, not hype

# 85 - The Goal Setting Blueprint / Awareness24 juin 202600:54:53

Coach Curtis returns to The Mindset U Playbook after stepping away since the end of March. Following a period of intense political commentary, he took time to unbecome versions of himself that were not aligned with real success. That deliberate pause produced Transfer EQ, a monitoring, coaching, and accountability system built to help athletes develop the habits, behaviours, and recovery capacity required to succeed once they reach college.

This episode is about installation, not motivation. It examines the difference between starting something and actually building a system that lasts. Between vague goals that decorate your ambition and a precise daily blueprint that forces honest behaviour. Between chasing distant success and confronting what sits within 10 feet of you right now.

Drawing on Carl Jung’s line, “Modern Man Doesn’t See God Because He Refuses To Look Low Enough,” Coach Curtis explains why real progress demands you stop looking to the horizon and start dealing with the immediate disorder at your feet: your habits, your thinking, your decisions under load, your capacity to regulate and act with clarity when it matters.

No hype. No slogans. Just structure, awareness, and the hard work of training behaviour under pressure. Talent gets you noticed. Behaviour gets you trusted.

If you are ready to move past wishes and build something that holds up, start with the blueprint. Look low enough. Do the next right thing.

# 84 - Unfiltered with Kels31 mars 202601:25:32

The Divide in Canada: Understanding the Growing Disconnection

Discover the roots of Canada's societal divide and how it affects our daily lives. Explore insights from Kelsey of "Unfiltered with Kels" and learn actionable steps to reconnect with your community.

In today's rapidly changing world, many Canadians feel a growing disconnection within their society. This feeling is not just an emotional response; it stems from a larger divide in leadership, truth, and community values. In this post, I’ll dive into the conversation I had with Kelsey from Instagram, known as "Kelsey and Filter," where we explored these pressing issues and how they impact everyday Canadians.

Understanding the Disconnect: What’s Happening in Canada?
The divide in Canada has become increasingly apparent, leading many to question the state of their country. Kelsey points out that there is a significant gap between what people experience in their daily lives and what they are told by leaders. For instance, while some officials claim that Canadians are thriving, many face rising costs and job shortages, leading to confusion and frustration.

The Reality Check
Kelsey shares her experience of watching her own children struggle to find jobs, despite the narrative of economic prosperity. This discrepancy between perceived and actual conditions breeds distrust in leadership and media. People are increasingly skeptical of the information presented to them, feeling that their lived experiences contradict the official stories.

The Role of Social Media in Shaping Perspectives
Social media plays a crucial role in shaping public opinion and community connection. Kelsey turned to Instagram to share her observations and engage with others who felt similarly disillusioned. Her journey from a casual social media user to a prominent voice highlights how digital platforms can amplify individual experiences and foster community discussions.

Finding Connection in Online Spaces
Through her posts, Kelsey aims to resonate with those who may feel isolated in their thoughts. By sharing content that prompts critical thinking, she encourages her audience to question narratives and engage with their intuition. This approach not only empowers individuals but also helps them feel less alone in their concerns about the future.

Leadership, Truth, and Responsibility
The conversation with Kelsey also touches on the themes of leadership and responsibility. Many Canadians are seeking leaders who genuinely address their concerns rather than perpetuating narratives that do not align with their realities. This desire for authenticity in leadership is essential for rebuilding trust in our institutions.

What Can Be Done?
To bridge the gap and reconnect Canadians with their communities, Kelsey suggests a few actionable steps:
- **Engage in Conversations:** Start discussions with friends and family about current issues and share different perspectives.
- **Stay Informed:** Seek out diverse sources of information to gain a well-rounded understanding of the challenges faced by your community.
- **Support Local Initiatives:** Get involved in community projects that aim to address local issues and foster a sense of belonging.

Key Takeaways
- There is a significant divide in Canada, leading to growing frustration among citizens.
- Social media can be a powerful tool for fostering community and conveying individual experiences.
- Authentic leadership is crucial for rebuilding trust in institutions and addressing the real concerns of Canadians.

In conclusion, understanding the divide in Canada requires open dialogue and a willingness to engage with different perspectives. By taking action and supporting one another, we can work towards a more connected and informed society.

# 83 - Baseball EQ - 30 Day Reset Program Description27 mars 202600:21:11

Most baseball players do not have a talent problem.

They have a pressure, load, and capacity problem.

They can hit in practice.
They can throw in bullpens.
They can look confident when nothing is on the line.

Then the game starts…

And everything changes.

The swing tightens.
The thoughts speed up.
The body language drops.
One bad at-bat turns into three.
One bad inning turns into a full spiral.

That’s not just “mindset.”

That’s a system problem.

In this video, I break down exactly why so many high school and youth baseball players are struggling to access their real game under pressure, and why the old advice:
 • “just be confident”
 • “relax”
 • “trust the process”
 • “slow the game down”

…isn’t enough anymore.

This generation is carrying:
 • more pressure
 • more comparison
 • more phones
 • more distractions
 • more scouts / recruiters / expectations
 • and more kids chasing the exact same goals

Big goals.
But even bigger distractions.

That’s why I built the 30-Day Baseball Reset.

This program is designed for baseball players who need help with:
 • confidence under pressure
 • emotional control
 • body language
 • routines
 • overthinking
 • performance anxiety
 • recovery after mistakes
 • learning how to compete in games the same way they do in practice

This is not generic “mental performance” coaching.

This is baseball-specific performance coaching built around:
 • load
 • pressure
 • capacity
 • awareness
 • nervous system regulation
 • and what actually breaks down when the game gets hard

If your athlete has the tools but can’t consistently access them in games…

this is probably the missing piece.

# 82 - Curtis Pelletier - Neutrality is a slow death20 mars 202600:18:59

We’re back. And we’re not easing into it.

This episode breaks down one of the most common habits quietly wrecking people’s lives: neutrality.

Sitting on the fence sounds mature. Sounds balanced. Sounds safe. It’s not. It’s delayed decision-making dressed up as intelligence. And over time, it erodes your self-trust, hands your power to other people, and forces you into a reactive life you didn’t choose.

We dig into what’s really behind the “stay neutral” mindset, using recent Canadian polling as the spark. Most people say they want neutrality, yet they’re worried about the exact consequences that come from avoiding decisions. That gap matters.

We also draw a clear line between staying quiet because you’re smart enough to know you don’t understand something… and staying quiet because you’re avoiding responsibility. Those are not the same thing.

There’s a real conversation here about careers, families, and why not everyone can or should be loud publicly. But don’t confuse silence with neutrality. You can be quiet and still be clear. The real test is what you do when nobody’s watching.

If you’ve been avoiding decisions in your health, your relationships, your business, or your life, this one will hit.

Neutral feels safe. It’s not. It’s slow decay.

Time to pick a side.

# 80 - Why I Work in the Dark - EQOS29 janv. 202600:50:28

Keywords
awareness, capacity, emotional intelligence, coaching, personal growth, chaos, order, blame, performance psychology, suffering

Summary
In this episode, Curtis Pelletier breaks down why awareness without capacity leads to collapse. He challenges the habit of seeking validation instead of building structure and explains how emotional intelligence functions as an internal operating system, not a personality trait. The discussion moves through chaos and order, blame versus responsibility, and the real role of a coach in developing capability. Suffering is framed as a teacher, not an enemy, and structure is positioned as the bridge between insight and resilience.

Takeaways
Awareness without capacity creates failure, not progress.
Blame is avoidance dressed up as explanation.
Balance is an ongoing correction, not a middle ground.
A real coach builds independence, not dependence.
Emotional intelligence governs behaviour under pressure.
Structure prevents collapse when stress rises.
Suffering refines character when it is faced directly.
Chaos grows when responsibility is outsourced.
Order creates freedom when applied properly.
Growth is the repeated alignment of awareness and capacity.

# 75 - Coach Curtis - You HAVE to listen to this before any new goals are created 04 janv. 202600:25:00

This is the first solo episode of 2026.
And it’s not a hype talk.

If you’re setting goals right now
or you’ve already started making changes
this episode is meant to catch you before motivation fades.

Because most people don’t fail at change due to laziness or lack of discipline.
They fail because they misunderstand how change actually works.

In this episode, we go deep into the psychology, behavior, and identity behind real transformation.

We talk about why you don’t add your way to change.
You unbecome your way there.

Why repairing energy leaks matters more than stacking habits.
Why fixing your nervous system matters more than forcing discipline.
Why silence and space are the parts people skip and why that’s where growth actually stabilizes.

We break down survival mode and why so many high-functioning people work their entire lives just to stay alive, never learning how to actually live.

We unpack the lie that growth must always be painful
and walk through the four pillars of real change
physical
emotional
mental
spiritual

and why focusing on only one, especially the physical, leads to burnout, relapse, or identity collapse.

You’ll hear a real example of a common goal like “less screen time”
and why vague goals fail
how to set realistic paths instead of fantasy expectations
and how habits like scrolling are rarely about discipline and almost always about what we’re avoiding or chasing.

This episode is about peace.
About space.
About learning how to sit without urgency.
About knowing who you are without achievement, performance, or noise.

It’s not about quitting ambition.
It’s about removing the chaos that keeps ambition hollow.

If you’ve ever felt like you’re constantly chasing the next version of yourself
if stillness makes you uncomfortable
if success hasn’t brought the calm you expected

this episode will land.

This isn’t about becoming someone new.

It’s about shedding who you no longer are
and learning how to live from choice instead of survival.

# 74 - Last Episode of 2025 - UNBECOMING Curtis Pelletier27 déc. 202500:19:24

This is the final episode of 2025.

After more than 70 episodes, countless conversations, and a year of deep listening, one truth kept surfacing over and over again: most people don’t need more motivation, more goals, or more pressure. They need clarity. They need regulation. They need to stop running.

In this solo episode, I slow everything down.

We talk about why your goals won’t stick unless your nervous system is regulated.
Why a new year won’t magically fix habits you can’t maintain right now.
Why open loops drain your energy and why closure doesn’t have to be comfortable or pretty to be effective.
Why so many people are exhausted not from work, but from unresolved thoughts, emotions, and decisions.

We dig into the myth that suffering equals success, especially for men.
The lie that pain is required to be disciplined.
Why the gym helps but doesn’t cure depression.
Why alcohol numbs trauma instead of healing it.
And why awareness and EQ are the real foundation for change.

This episode is about unbecoming.
Unbecoming what you learned to survive.
Unbecoming identities built on pressure and performance.
Unbecoming habits that numb instead of heal.

It’s a call to close loops, face what you’ve been avoiding, regulate before you chase, and enter 2026 from a grounded place instead of another cycle of force.

This isn’t hype.
It’s not a resolution speech.
It’s a reset.

If you’re ready to stop running and actually change how you live, this one is for you.

Establishing Healthy Boundaries: A Guide to Empowering Your Mind and Body

In today’s fast-paced world, the importance of setting boundaries cannot be overstated. Boundaries are essential not just in our relationships but also in how we manage our mental health, emotional well-being, and physical fitness. In this blog post, we’ll explore insights from a recent podcast discussion between Curtis Pelletier and Gary Dhillon, focusing on how boundaries can enhance every aspect of our lives.

Curtis Pelletier opens the conversation by emphasizing that boundaries are not just barriers; they are protective measures that define how we engage with our surroundings and ourselves. He explains that without boundaries, we risk pushing ourselves beyond our limits, leading to stress, burnout, and a host of other physical and mental health issues. For instance, when our minds and bodies lack clarity and consistency, we may experience symptoms like brain fog or chronic fatigue. This is why setting boundaries is crucial for maintaining a balanced life.

Gary Dhillon adds another layer to the conversation by discussing boundaries in the context of physical fitness. He points out that boundaries can be either limitations or guidelines. For example, a person might set a boundary by deciding to lift weights that are too light, thus stunting their progress. Instead of limiting oneself to a specific number of reps, Gary encourages listeners to push beyond those self-imposed boundaries—if they can do more, they should.

Curtis agrees, noting that boundaries should protect us from injury and help us gauge our limits. He suggests that individuals need to be aware of their physical capabilities and set realistic yet challenging boundaries that promote growth rather than stagnation. This awareness can lead to cleaner decision-making in both fitness and life.

Curtis adds that for some, the boundary might be not having tempting snacks in the house at all. This proactive approach can eliminate the temptation to overeat, thus reinforcing healthier habits. It’s all about knowing oneself and creating an environment that supports one’s goals.

A key takeaway from the podcast is the practicality of establishing boundaries. Curtis suggests starting simple: focus on one or two essential boundaries at a time rather than overwhelming oneself with too many changes. By gradually implementing boundaries, individuals can increase their chances of success and maintain consistency.

Another important point is aligning boundaries with personal values. Knowing what you stand for can provide the motivation needed to uphold those boundaries. For instance, if you value your health, it becomes easier to resist temptation when it comes to unhealthy snacks or excessive drinking.

Lastly, sharing your boundaries with others can provide accountability. Curtis mentions that by telling friends or family about your intentions—like limiting drinks at a social gathering—you create an external expectation that can help you stay true to your goals.

Setting boundaries is not just about saying no; it’s about creating a life that respects your mental, emotional, and physical needs. By understanding and establishing boundaries, you can improve your overall quality of life. Key takeaways from Curtis and Gary’s conversation include:
1. Boundaries help protect your mental and physical health.
2. Setting realistic boundaries in fitness can lead to better performance and fewer injuries.
3. Recognizing unhealthy eating habits and establishing food boundaries can promote healthier living.
4. Start with one or two boundaries to increase success and consistency.
5. Align boundaries with your personal values for better adherence.

Incorporating these practices into your life can lead to a more balanced and fulfilling existence.
