At one point Costa Rica had one of the highest deforestation rates in the world!

Costa Rica is the country that uses the most pesticides per hectare, according to data from the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO). Specifically, the increase is linked to three crops: banana, coffee, and pineapple.

That's why we travelled to Finca Luna Nueva Lodge (aka the Mother Moon) the pioneers of soil health, serving 100% organic food and who are hands down the leaders in conscious travel in Costa Rica.
