| Horses Can't Heal You, But They Can Show You The Way with Michelle Peterson | Episode 87 | 03 Sep 2026 | 01:01:37 | |
Horses cannot heal us—and expecting them to may place a burden on them that was never theirs to carry. They can reflect how we are showing up, reveal what we have been unwilling to see, and guide us toward the truth we are seeking. But the work remains ours. In this episode, Michelle Peterson of Medicine Horse Healing challenges the romanticized idea that horses are here to save us. We examine what healing with horses actually means when we stop casting the horse as the healer and begin taking responsibility for our own transformation. Michelle explains how releasing ego can strengthen our relationships with horses, why genuine connection requires time and attention, and how horses can act as mirrors without doing the work for us. We also confront the responsibility humans have toward horses when involving them in our healing and personal growth. The truth is less magical—and more demanding—than “horses heal.” They may help us uncover the path, but they cannot walk it for us. | Healing Burnout and Overwhelm Through Sound with Craig Goldberg | Episode 86 | 27 Aug 2026 | 01:15:26
What if the reason you cannot relax is that you are trying to think your way out of a state your body is still holding? Modern life can leave the nervous system stuck on alert—even when no immediate danger exists. Craig Goldberg, co-founder of inHarmony, believes sound and physical vibration may help the body find its way back to calm. After one sound session gave Craig a level of relaxation he had never experienced, he began exploring vibroacoustic therapy—an approach that combines audible frequencies with vibration you can physically feel. That experience eventually led him to help build inHarmony and introduce thousands of people to the practice. In this episode, we examine what sound healing actually is, how vibroacoustic therapy interacts with the body, and what emerging research suggests about its potential role in relaxation, sleep, mindfulness, and stress regulation. Craig also explains how sound can be incorporated into meditation and breathwork—and why deep rest may require more than simply telling yourself to relax. This is not a promise that one frequency will fix your life. It is an honest look at whether sound and vibration can help an overstimulated body finally let go. | What We've Lost by Disconnecting From Nature with Kurt Belding | Episode 85 | 20 Aug 2026 | 00:58:54
A wild horse advocate and a hunter are supposed to be on opposite sides. But public lands will not be protected by people who refuse to speak across the divide. In this episode, Kurt Belding of Western Obsessions TV joins me for an unapologetic conversation about ethical hunting, conservation, and what modern life is costing us as we become increasingly disconnected from nature. For Kurt, harvesting an animal is not about domination or trophies. It is a sacred responsibility rooted in fair chase, discipline, gratitude, and respect for the life being taken. His perspective challenges the assumptions many people hold about hunters—and reveals unexpected common ground with those fighting to protect wild horses. We explore why the most difficult paths often create the deepest meaning, how time in nature can restore something modern life strips away, and why protecting wildlife and public lands will require cooperation between people who do not agree on everything. This episode does not ask you to agree with hunting. It asks a harder question: Can those who care about Mustangs, wildlife, open spaces, and the human need for wildness protect any of them if we remain divided? At its heart, this is a conversation about one of the central ideas behind The Touch of a Mustang: wild places do more than give animals somewhere to live. They can guide people toward greater purpose, responsibility, humility, and freedom of mind. ABOUT KURT BELDING Kurt Belding is the driving force behind Western Obsessions TV and Hunt Adventures. | Why Horses Might Hold the Healing You've Been Searching For with Vanessa Petronelli | Episode 84 | 11 Aug 2026 | 01:22:06
When the life you built no longer feels like yours, losing your old identity can feel like failure. But what if the unraveling is not the end of who you are—what if it is how you find your way back? Vanessa Petronelli of Equine Soul Journeys joins me to explore how horses can guide us through life transitions, identity shifts, and the uncomfortable space between who we have been and who we are becoming. Horses cannot give us the answers or decide what comes next. But they meet us without being impressed by our roles, accomplishments, or explanations. In their presence, we may begin to see where our lives no longer reflect what we know to be true. We discuss why transition can leave us feeling lost, how expectations and old identities separate us from ourselves, and what it means to stop performing a life that no longer fits. Vanessa also explains how the horse-human connection can create space for greater honesty, clarity, and meaningful change. At the heart of this conversation is a difficult question: How much of the life you call your own was built around who other people expected you to be? ABOUT VANESSA PETRONELLI Vanessa is an equine-guided transformational facilitator, speaker, and founder of Equine Soul Journeys near Nashville, Tennessee. | Healing What Modern Life Has Broken with Chance Foreman and Grant Rose | Episode 83 | 04 Aug 2026 | 01:08:17
America’s wild Mustangs are usually discussed as a problem to manage, a population to control, or horses that need to be trained. Dance of the Wild tells the story almost no one is telling—what happens when formerly wild horses are valued not for what humans can make them do, but for what becomes possible in their presence. Filmmakers Chance Foreman and Grant Rose set out to document wild Mustangs. Along the way, they discovered women working beside horses once considered unwanted or discarded—and an overlooked path to hope, connection, and healing. This is not a horse-training film. Through striking cinematography and intimate stories, Dance of the Wild explores the horse-human connection and the role Mustangs can play in helping people find a way forward. It also raises a larger question: Could recognizing what wild horses offer humanity change whether we choose to protect them? Chance and Grant reveal how the documentary evolved, what the women and Mustangs at its center taught them, and why this story matters far beyond the traditional horse world. Chance Foreman is an award-winning filmmaker, poet, and global storyteller whose credits include Kiss the Ground and Common Ground, along with projects for Netflix, Apple TV, and Amazon Prime. His short documentary set in Brazil received the Grand Jury Award for Activism. Grant Eric Rose is an entrepreneur, storyteller, and producer whose work explores nature, purpose, and human connection. | Becoming Blind as a Teen with Laura Bratton | Episode 82 | 25 Jun 2026 | 01:10:30
Laura Bratton was nine years old when she learned she would become blind. For the next ten years, she lived with the knowledge that the future she feared was coming—while navigating adolescence and trying to build an identity beyond what she was losing. How do you grieve a life-changing loss without giving up on the possibility of a good life? Laura and I speak honestly about losing her sight as a teenager, the anxiety and depression that accompanied it, and the panic attacks that made an already difficult transition even harder. She shares the practice that helped reduce those attacks, the strategies she used to keep moving forward, and the ways her guide dog transformed her life far beyond helping her physically navigate the world. This is not a story about pretending blindness became easy or forcing gratitude onto grief. It is about learning that grief and a meaningful life can exist at the same time—and discovering that resilience is not the absence of pain, but the decision to keep building a life within it. ABOUT LAURA BRATTON Laura is the author of Harnessing Courage and the founder of Ubi Global, where she uses speaking and coaching to help people navigate challenges with grit and gratitude. | Her Horse Needed Her to Find Another Way with Chiara Maria | Episode 81 | 18 Jun 2026 | 01:00:32
Chiara Maria walked away from the life society expected her to live. Years later, she faced the same choice with horsemanship when her horse Descot needed something different—and continuing to follow the traditional path meant ignoring what she could see in front of her. Without a new system to replace the old one, Chiara began paying closer attention to her horse, trusting her intuition, and developing a relationship rooted in acceptance rather than fear and expectation. We discuss why acceptance may be one of the greatest gifts we can offer ourselves and our horses, how our fears enter the horse-human relationship, and what it takes to release the need to follow someone else’s path. Chiara also shares what horses taught her about purpose, individuality, and allowing the parts of ourselves that do not fit conventional expectations to become strengths. This is not about rejecting every traditional horsemanship method or blindly following every feeling. It is about having the courage to notice when the relationship in front of you is asking for something different. Sometimes finding your way does not mean discovering the right path. It means allowing yourself to leave one that was never yours. ABOUT CHIARA MARIA Chiara is the creator behind Grow with Horses. | He Helped Save Wild Horses at Six and Never Stopped with George Brauneis | Episode 80 | 11 Jun 2026 | 00:57:42
George Brauneis was six years old when he joined thousands of children inspired by Wild Horse Annie and wrote to Congress asking America to protect its wild horses. More than 50 years later, the fight continues—and so does George’s commitment. After an aerospace engineering career that included work on the International Space Station, B-2 Bomber, and Global Hawk, George returned to rural Colorado and the animals that first captured his heart. Today, he cares for 26 Mustangs at Eagles and Wild Horses Ranch. His philosophy, “Becoming Catchable to Your Horse,” turns the usual premise of horsemanship around. Instead of focusing on catching, controlling, or overpowering a frightened horse, George asks what humans must become for a Mustang to feel safe enough to trust them. We trace his journey from Wild Horse Annie’s campaign and the Wild Free-Roaming Horses and Burros Act of 1971 to the daily reality of feeding, training, and providing sanctuary for 26 horses. George also explains why he refuses to pity Mustangs, how he uses positive training and Qigong energy work, and what people without horses or land can do to support wild horse protection. This is more than a story about sanctuary. It is a look at what lifelong commitment requires after public attention moves elsewhere—and whether protecting Mustangs means preserving their agency as well as their lives. | The Horses Who Changed Her Life Inspired Stories for a New Generation with Cheryl Olsten | Episode 79 | 04 Jun 2026 | 00:51:35
Cheryl Olsten never expected to build her life around horses. She was reluctant to ride at all. Then three horses entered her life at three pivotal moments, each changing something different—and one left her with a realization she never anticipated: “He took care of me.” Those relationships changed more than Cheryl’s feelings about horses. They shaped the stories she writes and her commitment to helping the next generation recognize why horses deserve our care and protection. Cheryl shares what difficult and previously mistreated horses taught her about patience, trust, and looking beyond an animal’s past. She also recounts remarkable moments she has witnessed between horses and people, including a nonverbal child speaking their first words while on horseback. We discuss how horses can support autistic children, trauma survivors, and people navigating difficult seasons without treating the horse as a cure. Cheryl also explains how her relationship with three different horses influenced separate areas of her life, why she turned those experiences into children’s books, and how people can experience the horse-human connection without owning a horse. This is not a story about horses magically fixing people. It is about what can happen when humans and horses are given the opportunity to care for one another—and why the animals capable of giving us so much deserve protection in return. ABOUT CHERYL OLSTEN Cheryl is the author of Big Wishes for Little Feet, inspired by her horse Lafitte. Lafitte’s winnings have raised funds for the EQUUS Foundation, where he served as its first equine ambassador. | Australian Brumbies Are Being Gunned Down with Kiki Sjoberg | Episode 78 | 01 Jun 2026 | 01:00:26
Australia is shooting Brumbies from helicopters in the name of conservation. The NSW Government says aerial culling is necessary to protect Kosciuszko National Park. Wild horse photographer Kiki Sjoberg says what she has witnessed tells another story. Originally released as an emergency episode before aerial shooting resumed in June 2026, this conversation examines what was at stake—and why Brumby advocates were fighting to stop it. The government’s plan calls for reducing the wild horse population in Kosciuszko National Park to 3,000 by June 2027. Kiki questions the population estimates being used to justify the killing, the welfare claims surrounding aerial shooting, and whether enough has been done to pursue alternatives such as trapping and rehoming. She shares what she has seen on the ground, why Brumby advocates fear these horses could disappear from much of the landscape, and what Australia stands to lose if an animal woven into its cultural identity is treated only as an invasive species. Kiki also challenges the contradiction she sees in removing Brumbies in the name of environmental protection while the $12 billion Snowy 2.0 hydroelectric project is being constructed within the same national park. This is not a simple argument between horses and the environment. It is a fight over who gets to define conservation, whose evidence is trusted, and whether animal welfare and cultural heritage are acceptable losses. | When Rescue Horses and Veterans Get a Second Chance with Kathleen Saucier | Episode 77 | 31 May 2026 | 00:35:51
Sometimes healing begins not by escaping the pain, but by finding somewhere safe enough to face it. For some veterans, that place may be beside a horse. Kathleen Saucier is the co-founder of Samson’s Strength Sustainable Veterans Project, a nonprofit that rescues horses and brings them together with veterans searching for connection, purpose, and their own second chance. Following the 2026 Horses for Mental Health campaign, Kathleen and I look beyond the money raised to what may matter even more: the relationships built, the people reached, and the growing recognition that horses can play a meaningful role in supporting mental health. We discuss what horses offer people who may struggle to feel safe or understood elsewhere, why the connection can reach places words do not always reach, and how rescued horses can become valued partners rather than animals defined by their pasts. Kathleen also shares what the campaign accomplished and why increasing public awareness matters for veterans, equine-assisted programs, and the horses themselves. This is not a claim that horses replace therapy or do the work of healing for us. It is a case for taking the horse-human connection seriously—and for recognizing that bringing together two lives in need of another chance can change the direction of both. | Horses Interrupted His Cycle of Addiction with Ray Guidone | Episode 76 | 28 May 2026 | 00:54:06
Ray Guidone had used alcohol to escape the hardest parts of life. Then he returned to horses—and the craving disappeared. For days after working with them, Ray did not think about alcohol at all. He was not fighting the urge or forcing himself through it. In the presence of horses, he felt free from it. Ray and I explore what happened during those days. We talk about the role escape played in his addiction, why horses pulled him into the present, and how their honesty made it harder to avoid what he was carrying. Ray also shares how he learned to recognize the difference between something that helps us return to life and something that helps us hide from it. The conversation reaches back to Ray’s childhood and the remarkable story of being found at age three inside a circle of horses that refused to move. We also discuss how nearly three decades of massage and bodywork shaped his understanding of physical tension and emotional pain, how Qi Gong influences his connection with horses, and why the sense of belonging found within a herd may be especially meaningful for veterans. This is not a claim that horses cure addiction or replace treatment. It is one man’s account of what happened when being with horses interrupted his need to escape—and a reason to look more closely at what presence, connection, and the horse-human bond may offer people trying to find their way back. ABOUT RAY GUIDONE Ray is a licensed massage therapist with nearly 30 years of experience. His work includes medical and rehabilitation massage, isolated stretching, Reiki, and Qi Gong. | What Horses Reveal When Your Life No Longer Fits with Justin Dunn | Episode 75 | 25 May 2026 | 02:18:08
Sometimes the life we build is not the life we were meant to keep. When it no longer fits, we may have to let parts of it burn before we can build something that does. Justin Dunn believes horsemanship gives us a place to practice the same principles that shape the rest of our lives. A horse responds to what we bring into the moment—our thoughts, habits, tension, intention, and character—revealing things about us that are easy to hide elsewhere. Justin and I explore what happens when we carry the principles we use with horses into the human experience. We talk about applying tension and release to everyday challenges, learning to stay present through difficult things, and participating in life rather than constantly fighting against it. Justin also explains the thinking behind his five-part resonance framework, which examines health, wealth, happiness, relationships, and spirituality. We discuss why the traditional path can lead us away from ourselves, how character shapes the direction of our lives, and why rebuilding may require releasing old identities, habits, and assumptions first. This episode is not about using horses to escape the life we have built. It is about allowing them to reveal what no longer belongs, remembering who we are beneath it, and deciding what must be released before something better can take its place. | Why Horses Reach Places Words Cannot with Lynn Thomas & Jen Blanchard | Episode 74 | 21 May 2026 | 01:02:52
When someone has tried everything and still feels unreachable, hope can become difficult to believe. A horse may offer a place to begin again—not by providing the answer, but by making it harder to hide from what hurts. Lynn Thomas did not grow up with horses. She grew up in the city and knew little about them until she witnessed their effect on at-risk youth more than 30 years ago. What she saw changed the direction of her life and eventually led her to co-found Horses for Mental Health. Jen Blanchard is the Head of Marketing for Zoetis U.S. Equine. Together, Lynn, Jen, and their partners built the annual Horses for Mental Health campaign to raise money, expand access to equine-assisted services, and bring greater legitimacy to work that is still too often dismissed or misunderstood. Lynn, Jen, and I discuss why horses can reach people who struggle to feel safe or understood elsewhere, what makes the horse-human connection different from working with other animals, and why it is so difficult to hide what we are feeling in the presence of a horse. We also explore the growing place of equine-assisted services within mental health, the need to care for the professionals and horses doing this work, and how these programs can give rescued horses, Mustangs, and horses leaving other careers a valued place in the world. The 2026 campaign united 130 organizations across 36 states and six countries and raised more than $960,000. Since its launch in 2022, the campaign has generated $3 million for participating organizations. This is not an argument that horses replace therapy. It is a case for recognizing what can happen when skilled professionals, horses, and people who feel stuck meet in the same place—and why expanding access matters for both people and horses. ABOUT LYNN THOMAS AND JEN BLANCHARD Lynn is a mental health professional and co-founder of Horses for Mental Health, a nonprofit working to increase awareness, funding, and access to mental health and personal-growth services incorporating horses. | She Spent Years Believing She Was a Mistake with Madison Orlando | Episode 73 | 18 May 2026 | 01:01:40
Madison Orlando’s father died four days before she was born. Her mother went silent, and Madison grew up believing she had not simply made a mistake—she was one. Raised by a grandmother who could not walk, pregnant at 15, and working multiple jobs to survive, Madison learned early how to keep going without the guidance most children depend on. But surviving those years required more than strength. She eventually had to question the shame she carried and the story it had taught her to believe about herself. Madison and I examine the difference between guilt and shame: one tells us we made a mistake; the other convinces us we are the mistake. We talk about what changed when Madison stopped hiding parts of herself within her marriage, why real love should liberate rather than control, and why forgiveness is something we do for our own freedom. Madison also shares how she understands Reiki, frequency, the chakra system, and the patterns our bodies can carry after painful experiences. We discuss why horses respond to what is actually present rather than the version of ourselves we perform—and how being with them can create space to stop pretending we are okay. This is not a story about denying how deeply trauma can wound us. It is about refusing to let what happened become the final definition of who we are—and considering the possibility that we are stronger and less fragile than pain taught us to believe. ABOUT MADISON ORLANDO Madison is a licensed massage therapist, nationally board-certified practitioner, Reiki master teacher, and former national champion in Northern Shaolin Kung Fu. | Wild Horse Partnerships Built Free of Force with Mustang Trainer Michael Sanchez | Episode 72 | 14 May 2026 | 01:07:47
Force can make a horse comply. It cannot make a wild horse trust you. After working with hundreds of Mustangs, Michael Sanchez has learned that partnership begins by understanding the difference between being firm and being aggressive. One provides the clarity a horse needs. The other destroys the trust you are trying to build. Michael did not plan to become a Mustang trainer. He began as the maintenance man at a barn in Leeds, Alabama, cleaning stalls and repairing fences. Then someone asked him to hold a horse. That small moment became the beginning of a life spent helping wild horses learn to trust people. Michael and I discuss why the first time a Mustang willingly picks up its foot represents trust rather than obedience, why rushing a wild horse can damage the partnership, and what gentling approximately 300 Mustangs has taught him about patience. He also explains how to recognize when you may not be the right person for a particular horse—and why acknowledging that can be an act of responsibility rather than failure. We also talk about the loss of Michael’s mother and the day his boss told him to stop working and simply sit with the horses. Their presence gave him somewhere to carry his grief when words could not, deepening his understanding of what horses can offer people who are hurting. This is not a case for becoming passive or abandoning boundaries. It is about learning to be clear without threatening, patient without avoiding, and firm without becoming aggressive—and recognizing that those principles matter far beyond the round pen. | Why Equine Therapy Works When Other Programs Fail Veterans with David Vieira | Episode 71 | 11 May 2026 | 01:10:37
The program helping a veteran find a reason to keep going may be one emergency vet bill away from disappearing. When hay, farrier care, or veterinary treatment cannot be paid for, even work that saves lives can come to a halt. David Vieira is an Army veteran who served in Afghanistan and the founder of Veterans K9Equine Alliance. The organization provides nutritional and veterinary support to programs using horses and service dogs to help veterans living with PTSD, traumatic brain injuries, military sexual trauma, and the difficult transition home. After leading the effort to build Connecticut’s first memorial dedicated to Afghanistan and Iraq veterans, David recognized another mission that received far less attention. Equine and service-dog programs were doing critical work, but many were struggling to cover the ordinary expenses required to keep their animals healthy and their doors open. David and I discuss why paying for hay, veterinary emergencies, and farrier care is not secondary to the mission—it is what makes the mission possible. He shares what he learned while traveling across the country and visiting partner organizations, why veterans need purpose and community as much as treatment, and what horses and service dogs can offer people who may struggle to connect elsewhere. We also explore why working with a Mustang can give a veteran a mission, what happens when two lives searching for purpose are brought together, and why the animals carrying this work cannot be treated as an afterthought. This is not a contest between equine programs and traditional veteran care. It is a case for protecting every credible path that helps veterans find their way forward—and ensuring the horses and dogs making that work possible receive the care they need. ABOUT DAVID VIEIRA David is an Army veteran, founder of Veterans K9Equine Alliance, and the driving force behind Connecticut’s first Afghanistan and Iraq Veterans War Memorial. | Finding Beauty After Losing Her Mother and Sister with Britt Michaelian | Episode 70 | 07 May 2026 | 01:00:59
After cancer took her mother and then her sister, Britt Michaelian did not become grateful for the loss. She became grateful for the love that made the grief possible. Britt believed her mother would outlive everyone. When cancer came, she stepped into the role of caregiver and remained beside her through the end of her life. Later, cancer entered the family again through Britt’s sister. The grief was relentless, but somewhere within it, Britt began to recognize beauty—not because death became less painful, but because grief revealed the depth of what had been loved. Britt and I discuss what caring for her family taught her about death, why creating can restore something that constant consumption drains from us, and how she found her way back to intuition when grief and the noise of the world made it difficult to hear herself. Britt also shares how she understands frequency, Reiki, and quantum healing, why she creates paintings intended to carry healing energy, and how gratitude can change our relationship with overwhelming moments. Her work brings together art, energy practices, and the lessons she learned while walking beside the people she loved through cancer. This is not a promise that grief can always be made beautiful or that gratitude erases loss. It is an invitation to consider that grief and love cannot be separated—and that creating something from our pain may help us continue living without pretending the loss did not matter. ABOUT BRITT MICHAELIAN Britt is a frequency artist, quantum healing practitioner, and host of The Daily Healing. She creates Reiki-infused paintings and previously worked as an art therapist in oncology units and on heart-transplant floors. Her work now helps people explore grief, intuition, creativity, and healing through art and energy practices. | From No Horse Experience to Training Mustangs Worldwide with Grace Thompson | Episode 69 | 04 May 2026 | 01:13:20
Grace Thompson was not born into horses. She said yes to one wild Mustang before she knew what she was doing—and that decision became a life training wild horses around the world. As a teenager with no horse experience, Grace convinced her parents to let her adopt her first Mustang. Since then, she has trained more than 200 wild horses, competed in Mustang Makeovers, won colt-starting championships, worked with wild Kaimanawa horses at liberty in New Zealand, and prepared Mustangs for Germany’s Mustang Makeover. Grace and I discuss why she left behind her childhood dream of training dolphins and orcas, how saying yes to every opportunity accelerated her education, and what working with ten wild horses at liberty taught her about communication without force. She explains why Germany-bound Mustangs are allowed to become wild again before making the journey, how she keeps competition pressure from overriding a horse’s welfare, and why training hundreds of Mustangs has only deepened her respect for the individuality of every horse. We also explore why liberty horsemanship may become an increasingly important part of Mustang training and how Grace is helping place trained Mustangs with programs supporting veterans. The horse world does not belong only to those born into it. Grace’s story reveals what can happen when you say yes before you feel qualified, keep learning, and allow the horse—not ambition—to determine the pace. | When Keeping Your Mustang Feels Too Hard with Jana Leniger & Brittany Ference | Episode 68 | 30 Apr 2026 | 00:58:50
Bringing home a Mustang can begin as a dream and quietly become a crisis. When progress stalls and the owner no longer knows what to try, the horse may be sent away, passed on, or blamed. Jana Leniger and Brittany Ference kept seeing the same pattern. People adopted Mustangs with good intentions, then found themselves isolated when the work became difficult. Sending the horse to a trainer could create progress, but it did not teach the owner how to understand the horse or continue the work once the horse came home. Jana is the owner of Chasing a Dream Equine and a virtual riding coach who helps Mustang owners participate in their horses’ training. Brittany is the executive director of Great Escape Mustangs, a nonprofit supporting formerly wild horses through sanctuary, adoption, education, and continued support for owners. Together, they created the Wild Horse Partnership Program, a three-month virtual coaching and mentorship program designed to help Mustangs remain successfully partnered with their adopters. Jana and Brittany explain why 90 minutes of consistent, guided work each week may create more lasting change than sending a horse away for 90 days. We discuss why inexperienced adopters sometimes progress faster than experienced horse people, how choosing a Mustang for its color rather than its character can create problems, and why customized guidance and accountability matter when fear and frustration take over. This is not about blaming adopters for struggling or claiming every Mustang can remain in every home. It is about reaching people before frustration becomes surrender and recognizing that lasting change cannot happen if only the horse is expected to change. ABOUT JANA LENIGER AND BRITTANY FERENCE Jana Leniger is the owner of Chasing a Dream Equine and a virtual riding coach who helps owners build practical skills and stronger partnerships with their horses. In this episode, I sit down with Kat from KatjaCaptures to talk about the power of horses in art, and particularly in photography. Images of horses often stay with us long after we’ve seen them because of the way they resonate within us. Katja's images exudes the peaceful nature of the horse when she enters their world instead of pulling the horses into hers. We also explore why these images can affect us so deeply. In fact, movement can help the body process emotions, regulate the nervous system, and make it easier to stay present. This practice focuses on letting go of what's outside your control and finding acceptance with your world. | No One Believed In Her--She Proved them Wrong with Addie Gonzalez | Episode 48 | 14 May 2025 | 01:01:58
In this inspiring episode, Shalyce sits down with Addie Gonzalez—a ranch manager, soil scientist, and first-time Mustang owner whose wild horse changed everything. After years of chasing big dreams across breeding barns, NASA internships, and the ranchlands of Montana, Addie finally bought her first personal horse—a wild Mustang mare named Echo. What she didn’t expect was a whirlwind of fear, setbacks, and deep self-reflection. Echo was older than expected, completely feral, and dangerously reactive. But in just a year and a half, this once-unhandleable mare was racing down a skijor course, earning money and turning heads. Addie shares how she went from self-doubt to fierce trust, and how Echo mirrored her own internal transformation every step of the way. From sleepless nights to small wins that changed everything, this is the story of what happens when you believe in the impossible. Together, they share their extraordinary journey of turning pain into purpose—offering hope, healing, and purpose to veterans through animal-assisted and equine-based interventions. | A Journey of Healing, Horses, and New Beginnings With Jaime Davis | Episode 45 | 23 Apr 2025 | 01:04:37
In this episode, I’m joined by someone whose life has been shaped by horses from the very beginning. At just 13, she started working at a local horse rescue, gaining hands-on experience and witnessing both the heartbreak and hope that come with giving horses a second chance. She adopted her first horse at 14 and later bred her to a BLM Mustang stallion—bringing Whisper, her heart horse, into the world. Over the years, she faced anxiety, self-doubt, and the impact of an emotionally abusive marriage—challenges that affected both her and her connection with Whisper. After leaving that relationship and beginning her healing journey, she met her now husband, who helped her rebuild the bond she had with Whisper. In 2022, she lost her mom, and the following year, said goodbye to Whisper after 24 years together. She didn’t think she’d get another horse—until Willow, an untouched Mustang filly, entered her life. That unexpected connection sparked something new, reviving the passion she thought was gone. Now living in Montana with her husband, two dogs, and four horses, she runs a dog grooming salon and a handmade tack business called Two Bay Ranch Co. Through her work and her animals, she continues to walk a path of purpose, healing, and connection. Connect with Jaime:Personal Instagram: @my.dog.and.pony.show Facebook: Two Bay Ranch Co.
