In this conversation, Henry interviews Katie Craig, a women's golfer from Western Kentucky University who is currently participating in Q School. They discuss Katie's experience at Q School, her path to and through college golf, her interest in golf course architecture, and her future plans in the industry. Katie shares her favorite golf courses she has played, including Lost Key and Bel Air Country Club, and expresses her desire to design her own course in the future. She also mentions her dream of playing the Old Course at St. Andrews in Scotland.

• She has had success in college golf, with multiple wins and a strong performance at the Women's North-South Amateur.

At varying levels, Walker and Henry have some updates to share on what they have been and will be up to this summer. Walker is in Traverse City for the summer working towards a new path with our friend and coworker Trey Wren, and Henry is continuing to play as much good golf as possible and juggle a number of balls.

We're sticking our necks out a bit today to share our takes on courses we think sit somewhere in the rankings they maybe shouldn't. While The Tie Course Reviews typically are not so much about rankings, we can't refer to a place as being overrated, underrated, or properly rated if we don't talk about where they sit in rankings.

While ranking a course for everyone is a hard thing to do as not everyone is going to see a course in the same way and want the same things out of it, we did try today to think about each of these courses from multiple perspectives and not just our own so that we could speak fairly confidently on our opinions here.

It's Walker Cup week, and for this episode we are previewing the matches with coach Andrew DiBitetto who has 3 players teeing it up at St. Andrews for the US squad! This is something that has only been done twice before by college teams with both Cal and Alabama having 3 players on the 2013 squad at NGLA.

Coach DiBitetto and Henry break down each of his 3 guys teeing it up this week, Dylan Menante, David Ford, and Austin Greaser, what each of their processes were like making the team and sweating out final selections, what each of them brings to the squad and more. Further, we talk about what has given rise to the success of UNC Men's golf over the last 6 years since Coach DiBitetto has taken the reigns and how that has led to something like having 3 American Walker Cuppers.

After this first segment with Coach DiBitetto, Henry and Walker wrap things up by providing a little more action on the event overall, it's history at St. Andrews, the other 7 US players, as well as the GB&I squad, and finally, a few picks to round out the episode!

What a blast of a week at Cherry Hills. Easily one of the more underrated golf courses I am aware of. Today we are going to go a lay deeper on what the week held, the final match as well as ones leading up to it, a few thoughts on how Henry fared out at Cherry, and the US Amateur in general.

Cherry Hills was as good of a US Amateur venue as we've had on a long time and it only feels right to give it a good dose of coverage. Other than this, we of course get into the DERT, and a healthy dose of who knows what, as it is of course Mudball Monday!

Jaeger Kovich joins this week to discuss his career as a golf course architect.

Born as a New Yorker, Jaeger was exposed to Shinnecock Hills early in his teens for what he calls his "aha moment".  A few books later, the aha moment became a persistent chase to work for Tom Doak. That push included many emails, uncertainty, and nights studying mandarin in hopes of getting the next job in China. He got that job, eventually worked with Gil Hanse & Jim Wagner for many years, eventually as an associate, where he experienced the boom of restorations and new builds we all know and love.

The security of those jobs did not stop him. He put everything into what once was a vehicle for contracting work, Proper Golf, and has been at work consulting for clubs in the Northeast.

Because he's seen so much, worked with so many talented shapers, superintendents, associates, architects, owners, and clubs, the stories are endless. We kept it brief today and happy with what we covered. Hope you all enjoy!

Two great public courses here are being matched up today for a little house theory action!

It's been a little while since we've done a house theory, but boy are we excited to be back. The common thread here between these two courses is public golf, and great public golf at that. Wild Horse is in the middle of nowhere and is the best/only game in town whereas Pinehurst No. 4 is surrounded by other great courses and is likely a bit overshadowed by others. That said, these courses both receive high marks on house theory. Which is to say working well for their environment within the scope of what the architects working with. Like a great house, a golf course and it's features should be in harmony with the overall environment and shouldn't clash.

Today, we will match up each hole on these 2 courses and see which one wins in a  match play format.
