1. Arrow: Season 6 Will Break Diggle, Physically & Emotionally (Date: 03 Aug 2017)
   1. Speaking with the press at Comic-Con International, David Ramsey confirmed that Diggle does, in fact, make it off the island alive, but he will be a profoundly broken man when he returns to Star City. Asked about Diggle’s greatest challenge going into Season 6, Ramsey replied, “We have to break Diggle. I think Season 6 we’ll see Diggle get broken in a way he hasn’t been broken before. It already starts in [the first episode], and I think there’s a certain amount of it that will continue throughout the season. I think it’s an arc for Diggle that we haven’t seen, even beyond his brother coming back to life and killing his evil brother and that leading to the death of the Canary.” Diggle’s brokenness will — in part — come from the trauma of his island experience will “greatly affect the whole team.” Diggle is typically an open book — keeping both Team Arrow and Lyla informed about what’s going on in his life. With these “monumental” physical and mental changes happening to him, it sounds like we’re going to see a version of Diggle we have never seen before.

3. ‘Arrow’ Producers Already Have Plans For Season 7 [TCA 2017] (Date: 03 Aug 2017)

While previewing season six with the Television Critics Association after a panel for Legends, producer Marc Guggenheim, who also co-created and produces Arrow, said the Arrow writers already have ideas for season seven. “We’ve already started talking about ooh, we have a shape for season seven already,” Guggenheim said. “This is the earliest we’ve ever had an idea for a season that far ahead, but it’s come out of our conversations about season six.” Beyond season seven, it may be time to begin thinking about giving Arrow a proper series finale. However, when that inevitable time comes, Guggenheim would not require long-term planning to deliver the ending he and co-creators Greg Berlanti and Andrew Kreisberg have planned. “I think we’ve always had an endpoint in mind,” Guggenheim said. “We’ve always known how we want to end the show. That end point doesn’t require X number of seasons. 4. CW Announces Fall Dates For DC Superhero Crossovers – TCA (Date: 02 Aug 2017)
   1. CW announced that the first night of this season’s WBTV/DC superhero crossover will be Monday, Nov. 27 when Supergirl will be paired with Arrow. That day reps a one time move to Monday for the special occasion. The crossover concludes Nov. 28 with The Flash in DC’s Legends of Tomorrow. Commenting on the crossovers going from four nights last season to two this fall, CW president Mark Pedowitz said, “Last year’s (crossover) was the most successful week in CW history in terms of ratings and everything. We felt in this particular case we had Flash on Legends paired, so it was better to make it two two-hour movies – a miniseries – we thought this was the best way to go. We had a lot of conversations with producers and marketing people.”

1. DC'S LEGENDS OF TOMORROW: SEASON 3'S SUPERNATURAL VILLAIN RECRUITS GORILLA GRODD (Date: 02 Aug 2017)
   1. "At the head of whatever you want to call our evil organization, it's different. Last year it was three characters from the three different shows that form this alliance. This is a non-human entity," executive producer Phil Klemmer told IGN at the 2017 TV Critics' Association summer press tour. "This is a much more supernatural, spooky vibe this season. We're dealing more with magic. It's less real-world bad guys." Klemmer was keen to leave that character a secret, but he did promise you will hear the character's name in the Season 3 premiere. Unlike previous seasons which are more science or time-travel focused, Season 3 of Legends will "be more in the world of the occult and monsters." Following behind this leader as his acolytes are familiar characters like Damien Darhk, who will have been brought back to life after his death on Arrow, as well as Gorilla Grodd. This will be a post-Gorilla City Grodd. Klemmer confirms they're still actively campaigning for Matt Ryan's Constantine to appear on Legends of Tomorrow as well.

5. Legends of Tomorrow Casts Spartacus Actor as Julius Caesar (Date 05 Aug 2017)
   1. When the show resumes this fall, the Legends will travel from present day 2017 to Ancient Rome. When in Rome, the Legends will run into none other than the infamous Julius Caesar. CBR has confirmed that Julius Caesar will be played by actor Simon Merrells. Merrells previously starred on The CW’s The Tomorrow People with The Flash’s Robbie Amell. Marrells is also the sixth Spartacus actor to join the Arrowverse, which includes Manu Bennett, Todd Lasance, Liam McIntyre, Nick Tarabay, and Katrina Law.

Richard Dragon, one of the last major Green Arrow villains yet to appear on Arrow, is coming in season six -- and he will be different from the series' other big bads, according to series executive producer Marc Guggenheim. "You know, what I really like about our interpretation of Richard is, he’s very grounded," Guggenheim said. "He’s not a flamboyant big bad, he doesn’t wear a costume, he really is a crimelord sort of in the Tobias Church model. For Tobias we only really saw him for about five episodes, so we were excited about th prospect of doing a cool, gritty crime lord, but for a longer period of time. a. Love is in the air for Waverider captain Sara Lance. When the character returns in Legends of Tomorrow Season 3, she will find herself embroiled in a new romance. On Twitter, executive producer Marc Guggenheim revealed that this romance will be with a new character. Guggenheim and fellow executive producer Phil Klemmer revealed that Sara will get a new love interest at Comic-Con International’s Legends of Tomorrow panel. “It’s definitely time for Sara to settle down, or at least have a relationship that’s more than a roll in the hay. It’s hard when you’re travelling through time,” Klemmer announced. “It’s definitely been a priority of ours to re-establish Sara’s bisexuality in Season 3,” Guggenheim added. “It’s a big, important thing for us this year.”

2. The Flash: Tom Felton not returning as series regular (Date 25 July 2017)

At the close of season 3, Julian was still a member of Team Flash, but with Barry now trapped in the Speed Force, and the show jumping ahead at least six months, it appears that Julian has left the team. The character was missing from the new season 4 footage in the recently released trailer, which was shown at Comic-Con, an event the Harry Potter alum also didn’t attend. As of yet, Felton has not booked a return to the show, but as with all actors in the Berlanti-verse, there’s a chance we could see Felton again if it makes sense for the story and his scheduling permits it.

3. THE FLASH Season 4 Casts The Thinker; Danny Trejo And More Join As Key DC Comics Characters (Date 23 July 2017)

Neil Sandilands (The 100) is set to take on the role of Clifford Devoe/The Thinker, a metahuman with a mega mind who embarks on a season-long battle with The Flash that pits the "fastest man alive" against the "fastest mind alive." Danny Trejo (Machete) is Breacher, a feared bounty hunter from Earth-19 and the imposing father of inter-dimensional bounty hunter Gypsy. His mission is to prevent any inter-dimensional traveller from threatening life on his planet — especially his daughter’s. Kim Engelbrecht (Dominion) is The Mechanic, a highly intelligent engineer who designs devices for Devoe. As Devoe’s right hand, she’s the truest of true believers who’ll stop at nothing to help him implement his plan to fix humanity.

4. The Flash Gets a New Suit in Season 4 Set Photo (Date 29 July 2017)
a. Set photos captured by YVRShoots.com show Gustin on set during July 28th, wearing what appears to be a new Flash suit. This comes after Gustin shared a photo of part of the suit on Instagram, and spoke about his desire for a new costume during an interview with ComicBook.com at San Diego Comic-Con. Interestingly, the suit is appears to be almost identical to the suit worn by the 2024 version of Barry Allen, which was briefly seen in last season's 'The Once and Future Flash'.

5. SUPERGIRL Season 3 Trailer Released; Calista Flockhart Set To Recur & Four New Cast Additions Announced (Date 22 July 2017)
a. The CW has confirmed that Calista Flockhart will return for Supergirl season three and it sounds like she'll be popping in a lot more frequently this time around as she's secured recurring status. She'll first appear in the season premiere on October 9. Additionally, Adrian Pasdar, Carl Lumbly, Yael Grobglas, and Emma Tremblay have all joined the cast. Pasdar will play Morgan Edge, a ruthless real estate developer who will find himself at odds with Lena Luthor. Lumbly will play J'onn's father M'yrnn J'onzz, a pacifist religious leader on Mars. Grobglas will play Psi, a psychic villain who uses people's minds against them. Tremblay will play Ruby, a smart kid who's fascination with Supergirl lands her in serious trouble. 6. LEGENDS OF TOMORROW Season 3 Trailer Released; Both Captain Cold & Damien Darhk Will Return (Date 22 July 2017)
a. The CW announced today that both Wentworth Miller and Neal McDonough will reprise their roles as Captain Cold and Damien Darhk, respectively, on the upcoming third season of DC's Legends of Tomorrow.

Miller will actually return in a recurring capacity, but he won't exactly be the Leonard Snart we came to know and love in seasons one and two. He'll instead be playing a brand new version of fan-favorite character, which should lead to some interesting interactions between him and Mick. During the panel, executive producer Phil Klemmer teased, “Mick Rory needs his pal, but unfortunately he’s not going to get the version of his pal that he remembers.”

Meanwhile, McDonough will be upped to a series regular and will also come with his own, more dangerous, changes. "We’ll be meeting a new version of Damien Darhk, a little less silly, a little more formidable." Arthur Darvill will also be back as Rip Hunter, but in a recurring role, and it sounds like he'll be coming into conflict with his former teammates. “Last season, the Legends were the only game in town,” Klemmer said. “Now they’re competing with the best and brightest. Rip Hunter has reconstituted what the Time Masters were, so the existential question for the Legends is where do we fit into this universe?”

As for new additions, a new villain will arise in the form of Kuasa, Vixen's granddaughter. Tala Ashe will also join the Waverider crew as Zari Adrianna Tomaz, a Muslim-American woman from 2030.

7. Spoiler Room: Scoop on Supergirl, Once Upon a Time, Defenders, and more (Date 27 July 2017)

Is there any chance Alura is actually still alive on Supergirl? — With Erica Durance joining the show in a recast of Alura, EW pressed new showrunners Jessica Queller and Robert Rovner for answers at Comic-Con. “Shrouded in mystery, those questions,” Queller said coyly. Rovner added: “We wanted to keep Alura’s presence on the show because it really connects Kara to Krypton and her roots and what it meant to see her family and her planet destroyed. It’s an emotional grounding that’s always important.” However, there’s a good chance Mon-El ended up in the Phantom Zone — you know, the same Kryptonian prison that Alura had a hand in sending criminals to, so what if she escaped the destruction of Krypton and ended up there herself? Another dodge from the EPs: “Where Mon-El is and how he comes back is the central mystery of our season,” Queller said. “But the theme of this season is what does it mean to be human? Kara is going to be especially grappling with that, and all of the characters are. The loss of her family and Krypton impacts that a lot. The mother-daughter relationship is something we still want to explore in whatever fashion.”

8. THE FLASH Star Grant Gustin Says It's The Show's Goal To Adapt CRISIS ON INFINITE EARTHS (Date 25 July 2017)

Speaking to ComicBook at San Diego Comic-Con this weekend, Grant Gustin confirmed that while it's still a long time from happening, it's been the goal to eventually adapt Crisis on Infinite Earths on the show . "We don't really talk about it on a yearly basis but it was mentioned early on and that's a goal. Obviously we'd have to go I think ten years to reach that, so there's a possibility for sure. It'll be fun to get there." The massive multiverse event saw the collapse of multiple parallel universes, along with the "death" of The Flash himself. The story has been hinted at since the pilot episode of the show, where the Reverse Flash views a newspaper headline from the future stating that The Flash has "vanished in a crisis". Showrunner Todd Helbing also spoke to CB about the upcoming season 4, which he promised will be "fun" again after the "doom and gloom" of season 3. "Last year, once we showed Iris die in the future, to keep up that doom and gloom, it becomes a burden, and not just on us writing-wise, on the show and it just sort of had this pall over the season that I think we didn’t expect to be so heavy;” there is “a conscious effort of ours to really go back to everybody enjoyed being on this team and with each other, and make The Flash have fun again.”

12. The Flash Season 4 Set Photos Show New Female Villain (Date 29 July 2017)
a. YVRShoots.com recently shared pictures of The Flash's newest foe, who will reportedly appear the third episode of the season, entitled 'Luck Me a Lady.' In one set of photos, an actress is robbing a bank in a red dress, while other photos show the same actress running after a bus in a rather noteworthy casino outfit. Fans were quick to recognize the casino dealer outfit as that belonging to the DC Comics villain Becky Sharpe, a.k.a. Hazard. Hazard has appeared throughout the DC Comics mythos as a member of the Injustice Society, and was the granddaughter of the original Gambler. The antagonist is bestowed with psionic powers, which allow her to cause good or bad "accidents" to her foes.

During his panel at the Portland Heroes & Villains Fan Fest this past weekend, the actor mentioned that he's talked with the show's producers about having Oliver Queen start to resemble his comic book counterpart more closely this upcoming season and beyond. Amell said, “I've said that it's very, very important that if Oliver doesn't take away lessons from Season 5 and doesn't keep doing the things that have led to this catastrophic event, the character stops being interesting to me. So I hope that part of that, in Season 6 and if we have seasons beyond that, I hope that part of that is we get back to a lot of the tenets that people recognize from the comics. And that of course is humor and a socially conscious, slightly liberal superhero.”

1. Every DC Universe Original Movie To Be Collected In A Massive Box Set (Date: 28 June 2017)
   1. Warner Bros. Animation is celebrating the tenth anniversary of its direct-to-video films featuring DC Comics’ heroes with a massive 30-film collection. The set will collect every movie from the past decade, from Superman: Doomsday, the very first film in the series, to the as yet unreleased Batman and Harley Quinn. The collection will also feature the animation studios’ five “DC Showcase” animated shorts – The Spectre, Green Arrow, Jonah Hex, Catwoman and Superman/Shazam: The Return of Black Adam, along with a host of unannounced special features. All in all, the collection will be comprised of 32 separate Blu-ray discs. The Blu-ray box set will arrive in stores on November 7, and the set will be available for Digital Download on August 15. Pricing has not been announced for either version.

      EP Marc Guggenheim cautions not to feel safe in the assumption that most of the core characters will definitely survive because they’re expected to return next season. “I know everyone is trying to determine who survives, who dies, what is the result of the cliffhanger based upon people’s contractual status, and I would say that’s not necessarily a good idea,” he says. “The example I like to point to is that was true in Walking Dead. They had a season finale similar where you had a group of characters, all of whom were series regulars, in a dire situation at the end of their season. Just because they were series regulars did not mean that everyone came out of that cliffhanger alive.”

2. Supergirl Adds Two New Showrunners; Ali Adler Departs (Date 16 June 2017)
   1. Supergirl just underwent a behind-the-scenes change-up. Deadline reports that co-creator Ali Adler has stepped down from her role as showrunner, per her overall deal at CBS TV studios. In her place, both Jessica Queller and Robert Rovner will be promoted to executive producer. Queller and Rovner have been part of Supergirl since the show’s first season. Queller joined mid-way through Season 1 as co-executive producer; Rovner, on the other hand, boarded as consulting producer and was later promoted to executive producer for Season 2. Both will act as showrunners for Season 3. They join fellow executive producers Andrew Kreisberg, Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter.

In the U.S., The Mummy was relegated to second place behind Warner Bros.' box-office sensation Wonder Woman, which fell a scant 45 percent in its second weekend to $57.2 million from 4,165 theaters. That's one of the lowest drops ever for a superhero tentpole. Generally speaking, a superhero film can fall 60 percent.

3. Legends of Tomorrow Casts Billy Zane As PT Barnum (Date: 14 June 2017)
   EW can exclusively reveal that Billy Zane has been tapped to play P.T. Barnum on the CW super series. The Titanic star will appear in one episode. Executive producer Phil Klemperer has offered up a detailed description of the role that also offers insight on what’s in store for season 3: “Obviously, we couldn’t resist putting Victor Garber and Billy Zane back on screen for the first time since the TITANIC. But I’ve wanted to bring Billy onto LEGENDS every since I saw him in a friend’s comedy pilot. I’m not sure that people know how funny Billy is, although we cast him as P.T. Barnum because we knew that he would be able to find the soul beneath the larger-than-life showman. This season on LEGENDS, we want to meet other famous figures from history, people like Barnum, people we think we know, so that we can find the aspects of them, the parts of their story, that the history books left out — we want to bring history to life by infusing it with heart, humor, and total absurdity (often at the same time).”

4. Legends of Tomorrow adds Tala Ashe as a visitor from the future (Date: 06 June 2017)
   The Waverider is adding one more member to its superhero squad: American Odyssey and Smash actress Tala Ashe is joining DC’s Legends of Tomorrow season 3 in a new series regular role. Ashe will portray Zari Adrianna Tomaz, a Muslim-American woman from the year 2030. In her future, technological advances have brought about significant change to civilization, but humanity’s fear, prejudice, and mistreatment of the planet have prompted her to become a “grey hat hacktivist.” Tomaz may be a computer nerd, but she doesn’t yet realize she holds hidden powers derived from a mystical source.

   Cloverfield and Pure Genius alum Odette Annable has joined the third-season cast of The CW's Supergirl in the role of Reign. Warner Bros. Television confirms that "Reign will be the big bad of Season 3, as part of an exciting interpretation of the infamous World Killer storyline from the pages of the DC Comics." Introduced in 2012, Reign is a Worldkiller and her origin is a mystery even to her. All she knows about herself is her name, that she is a Worldkiller, and that Krypton and Earth hold the answers for her questions about her origin.
