The Shield of Faith returns as we begin a new year of Come, Follow Me with a thoughtful introduction to the Old Testament—a book that often feels intimidating, difficult, or even unsettling to modern readers.

In this episode, we explore why the Old Testament creates tension for so many people and why that tension is worth facing rather than avoiding. Through scripture, history, psychology, and doctrine, we examine the justice and judgment of God—and how those themes ultimately reveal something even deeper: God’s mercy.
