| How to Leverage being a Podcast Guest for Business Growth with Jessica Rhodes | 20 Dec 2024 | 00:36:47 | |
When your message is seen and heard by the right people, it will grow your business Jessica Rhodes is the Founder of Interview Connections, a pioneering podcast guest booking agency, author, and podcaster. She wanted to build a life she wanted and she left a successful career in the non-profit to become a stay-at-home mom. Jessica has built Interview Connections into a nearly seven-figure business and has now booked over 30,000 podcast interviews for more than 800 clients. Podcast guesting is a human-to-human relationship-building strategy, where entrepreneurs show up authentically and with presence, making a genuine connection with podcast hosts. Podcast guesting for online entrepreneurs is very important, especially for women entrepreneurs who want to expand their networks, build thought leadership, and attract ideal clients. She discusses how podcast guesting can help businesses gain visibility, make connections, and drive sales. Jessica initially worked with podcast hosts to book guests but later shifted to focusing on helping entrepreneurs become successful podcast guests due to demand. She stresses the importance of being mindful and present during podcast interviews, having good preparation, and taking action rather than waiting for everything to be perfect. You will fall in love with your voice with time! Women need to stop over-preparing and start taking action in sharing their message. It is important to see how men take immediate action while women often wait until they feel fully qualified. It is time to take action, be visible, and embrace the messiness of the journey! | Breaking Barriers and Redefining Womanhood: Merging Fashion and Impact with Mona Patel | 19 Oct 2024 | 00:57:22
You don't have to be a certain brand of woman in order to deliver your message. Mona is the founder of Couture for Cause, a nonprofit organization using fashion to fundraise and raise awareness for girls’ education and empowerment worldwide. She shares her journey from childhood in India to the recent Met Gala, where she turned heads in a stunning Iris van Herpen dress. With a blend of humor and vulnerability, she reflects on her struggles with identity, a tomboy image, and searching for her authentic self. Mona has a strong entrepreneurial mind and a love for freedom mixed with a love for fashion She talks specifically of creativity and aesthetics, which she refers to as "aesthetic intelligence” which she used at Met Gala to showcase her nonprofit work. Multiple businesses she built taught her lessons about flexibility, learning skills, and the power of real estate. Mona knows the power of connection and community along with the extensive education she got helped her to get out of the social pressures women face, especially in India, thanks to her parents’ open-mindedness which was the key to her empowerment. She had a desire to turn a "guilty pleasure" of fashion into something meaningful. Through her organization, she combines her passion for couture with efforts to support grassroots initiatives in India, particularly for young women and girls affected by sex trafficking and other challenges. Mona’s life was marked with resilience, seeking freedom, and breaking the norms in business and life but her mom taught her to balance between ambition and humility and that lesson has been a significant part of her growth.

| From Hustle to Flow: Authentic Business Strategies through Human Design with Mel McSherry | 11 Oct 2024 | 00:43:14 | |
When you start living in alignment with your design, everything feels lighter—opportunities come more naturally, and there's no longer a need to push or force things. Mel McSherry is a CEO, author, podcaster, business and life coach who helps overwhelmed entrepreneurs align their lives and businesses by integrating human design with traditional business development. Mel predominantly works with women business owners who are exhausted and overwhelmed by combining spiritual gifts, as well as their 14+ years of business-building experience. Women entrepreneurs are disadvantaged when trying to mold themselves into systems designed for men. Mel shares how Human Design provides a way to design businesses that align with women’s natural strengths and energy patterns. Human Design can lead to more authentic business strategies and healthier work-life balance which are needed for women to thrive. Even though there are five overarching types, as Mel explains, nothing is a cookie-cutter solution because Human Design reflects deeper, unchanging truths and explains why certain behaviors don’t work for everyone. Mel shares that from 2027 we will be witnessing a huge change in the energetic shift from hierarchical systems to more fluid ones, based on communities. Mel advocates for authenticity and finding your own purpose while leveraging Human Design as a compass for success. Success isn't just about what you achieve—it’s about how authentically you’re living while you do it. | Delegate to Elevate: Entrepreneurial Finance and the Path to a Million-Dollar Company with Pam Jordan | 04 Oct 2024 | 00:40:35
"It's not about what you make, it's about what you keep. You can be a $2 million company and broke, or a $650,000 company and rolling in the money." Pam, the CEO of Pivot Business Group, is a no-nonsense financial expert and speaker who specializes in analyzing and streamlining the back end of fast-growing companies, while efficiently creating more profit and strategic growth. Pam decided to create Pivot Business Group to ensure that no small business owner would face bankruptcy simply because they didn’t understand their numbers. Pam shares her valuable experience and insights, noting that many entrepreneurs, especially women, undercharge for their services, undervalue their worth, and fail to set prices correctly. They also often neglect to pay themselves properly, have the wrong legal and tax structure for their company, and don’t track their numbers correctly. For women, it is crucial to understand these financial aspects and stop undervaluing themselves. We aren’t always educated about the financial tools and strategies available, but there are professionals who can help avoid these pitfalls. Investing in their expertise from day one is worth the cost and saves you from future pain and financial mess. Understand what your costs are, track your money in real time, and make sure you're setting money aside for yourself, delegate and enjoy your journey to success. 👩🏻💼 Elizabeth's corporate story and business experience working in London. 2:54 👔 When you get what you asked for, it may not be what you actually want. 04:42 🏋🏻♀️ Elizabeth took a leap into entrepreneurship in 2012 and bought an all-women's gym. 8:13 💫 Elizabeth was known as a turnaround expert in the corporate world and she was always inclined to operations, but she sees that women are often 'groomed out' of operational roles. 11:20 💵 By buying a business, you have an automatic revenue stream, and a paycheck which is rarely the case with startups.15:30 💰 How do you purchase a business without having full finances to cover the purchase? 18:58 🤸🏻♀️ The third business Elizabeth purchased was a franchise trampoline park that she improved and exponentially grew within a few short years. 23:14 😷 When she had just purchased the franchise in California, COVID hit. 26:00 🌺 Elizabeth started Empowered by E to help women with their careers without BS advice. 30:34 💎 Adrienne feels that Elizabeth is a rare gem and that more women should explore buying a business and to look to Elizabeth for advice. 34:08 Connect with Elizabeth https://www.instagram.com/empowered.by.e/ https://www.facebook.com/empowered.by.e/ https://www.linkedin.com/in/elizabeth-kramer-4412267/ Join the She Leads Community for FREE at https://community.sheleadsmedia.com/

| 29. Using The “3C’s” to Get To Authentic & Genuine Communication, with Jill Katz | 27 Nov 2020 | 00:30:50 | |
🤩Jill’s company focuses on the four critical C's of all company life, which is culture, communication, conflict and change. 2:33 🚦 Like every other entrepreneur, for years, Jill wanted to start her own business, but stopped herself on several occasions. 4:01 🤯 Jill observes the exact same issues across multiple industries. That’s why she focuses on opportunities to solve people’s problems. 5:20 🛑 People are oftentimes fearful in their workplaces, because of company culture, limited feedback mechanisms, which leads to workers shutting down communications completely. 7:46 💃 Jill’s 3C’s model of sharing feedback with Candor, Courage, and Care is bringing back personal authenticity to work lives and helps both productivity and stress reduction. 11:28 🫂 The 3C’s model is not good only for work but it highly improves all relationships because it is all about people. 14:00 ✌️ HR Assemble is company agnostic, but focus on choosing to work with leaders that have the right mindset. 16:18 🙋♀️ We need a more humane corporate world and innovative leaders who recognize this. 18:16 🙃 It's not always easy to explain to a group of cross functional partners or a leadership team that everything's going to be done in a different way. 20:26 🌸 At the end of day, culture is how we live and what we choose to do. Every business owner should define it from the start of creating a business or it will define itself. 24:57 🔗Connect with Jill: https://hrassemble.com/events Twitter: @jillbkatz Insta: https://www.instagram.com/hrassemble/ 👱♀️ Plus, Don’t forget to register for She Leads 2020 LIVE ONLINE - December 8th - to hear from more incredible women just like Jill: https://hopin.com/events/she-leads-2020-online

She was the first woman who was successfully ejected from an aircraft - to great honor. She went on to become a program manager for major aviation programs in the Navy. 11:40 📖 Linda’s book ‘Military Fly Moms’ was published in 2012 and recounts stories of 70 women in the military. 16:30 🙋♀️ We typically hear one or two ‘victim-y’ stories about women veterans, and there are much more positive and powerful stories. Linda had a vision to elevate women veteran’s voices in a different, unique and powerful way. 20:17 🇺🇸 “Proudly She Served” is a collaborative art project that honors active duty military and veteran women. 27:28 🌹 In addition to all of this, Linda is a full-time working mother of two incredible human beings! 31:29 🎤 Women Veteran Speakers bureau has so many amazing and talented ladies that event managers, conference producers and companies can benefit from inviting to speak. 35:03 Connect with Linda and check out her work: https://www.linkedin.com/in/lwomenveteranspeakers/ https://womenveteranspeakers.com/ https://www.facebook.com/WomenVetsSpeak https://www.proudlysheserved.com/

| Pitching with Purpose: How to Craft a Winning Pitch Deck Story for Investors with Heather Lawver | 20 Sep 2024 | 00:39:46 | |
As your company's founder, you are Beyoncé, and your slides in the pitch deck are your backup singers. Heather Lawver, the founder and CEO of Ceemo.ai, has helped underrepresented founders raise over $172 million in venture capital. Heather shares her entrepreneurial journey, starting from graduating high school at 12, launching her first startup at 13, and creating a platform designed to automate brand marketing and pitch deck creation, which helps founders look polished and market-ready. She says that pitch decks are like children's books for grown-ups who love money, while underrepresented founders often face a lack of early funding and expertise in branding and marketing. Heather decided to help fix this gap with Ceemo.ai. The approach to pitch decks is usually totally wrong because the founder, not the slides, should be the focus, as well as the emotional core that grabs an investor’s attention. Founders should rethink stories by viewing them from various angles, incorporating classic storytelling methods, and avoiding getting lost in the weeds, which is the first mistake entrepreneurs make. Unfortunately, research shows there is a difference in how messages are received. Male founders often receive more positive, promotional questions, while women are asked defensive, preventative questions, even when delivering the same pitch. Women bring knowledge, kindness, and empathy, and we don’t need to adopt toxic traits commonly attributed to male leaders. However, we often struggle with self-doubt and hesitation. It's time for women to reclaim their confidence and speak with the certainty and power we deserve. Language matters – saying "WHEN I reach my goals" instead of "IF I reach my goals" changes everything. Let’s shed doubt and take up space!
