Over in the world of Sonic hacks, Sonic Mania Plus has been made to boot on real Dreamcast hardware by developer SonicFreak94. RetroSumus, the team behind Xenocider, has just launched a demo for Soviet Borgs — an alternate-history run-and-gun where the USSR won the Cold War. It’s coming to Dreamcast, Mega Drive, MS-DOS, and Neo Geo, and their IndieGoGo campaign is live now.

Neofid Technology is preparing CopperStorm, a new steampunk shoot-’em-up inspired by Thunderforce 4 and Metal Slug, for SNES, Mega Drive, and Neo Geo. A Kickstarter is on the way, though we’re still waiting on screenshots and footage.

Finally, Nicomegadrive has shared early previews of Final Fantasy Mystic Quest running on Mega Drive hardware. This SNES classic is being ported to Mega Drive/Genesis with progress updates streaming on X/Twitter.
