#161 Trigger Warning Part 13: ApoCYlypse Now (CY_Borg with Walton Wood)01 Mar 202400:56:52

With what seems like the entire city of CY after them, the gang has to improvise their way out of the worst debacle they've been in yet. Like every other mission though, these guys are guaranteed to keep climbing that “Most Wanted” ladder. Well, everyone but Les. Linda gives a monologue, Les shoots the ceiling, Perseus' fate is sealed, and Sword Lad will remember this, this week on The Rolled Standard.

#71 Cold and Deathless Part 3: High on Mosh Rooms (Mörk Borg)21 Jan 202201:21:19

This week the boys finally set out on an official Tethyk adventure. No worries, something simple, Just THE SWORD OF DESTINY. They use their new friend's subjectively better teleportation to end up on a bitterly cold island with a more than foreboding lighthouse. What happens inside can only be heard to be believed. Dennis makes another change, Arthur gets some sick ink, and Melville eats some stew, this time on The Rolled Standard.

In this episode, our boys finally make it back to Graven-Tosk, and after a few lucky encounters, find their man, Ignacious. With their mission complete, they can finally leave back to Nowhere, but not before securing one last thing: a soul for Arthur. This time, for one of our boys, it's literally do or die. Of course, Melville hurts himself for no reason, Dennis is pretty much always an ape, and Arthur feeds the flame, this time on The Rolled Standard.

#69 Cold and Deathless Part 1: Froze and Cons of Being Dead (Mörk Borg)07 Jan 202201:36:21

With our three antiheroes finally on the road, their luck seems to wax and wane as they stock up in Galgenbeck before their nearly week-long journey to Graven-Tosk. Even with these small perils, our boys seem to have their work cut out for them. Only Verhu knows how this story will unfold, stick with us to find out. As usual, Dennis visits the DMV, Melville kills a bird, and Arthur finds himself an unfortunate midnight snack. This, and more on this episode of The Rolled Standard.

#61 Season of the Black Goat Part 0 (Vaesen)19 Nov 202100:47:31

Jumping right into a new arc and a new game, we start off with something we haven't done since the Fate Core System, character creation! Join us as we build our new team and get a small idea of what's to come in this zero episode. Stick around after the break for the short, but important, prologue to our new adventure. Hope you enjoy and don't sniff glue!

#60 Starfinder Review 19 Nov 202100:50:57

Sit down with us once again to talk about another game finished. Come find out what was missed, what was skipped, and what was totally improvised. As we dig into the story of the crew of the BD514 and the mechanics of Starfinder in general. We hope you enjoyed our adventures in space and also hope you stick around for what's next for us here at The Rolled Standard.

#59 We're No Heroes Finale (Starfinder)12 Nov 202101:01:16
After a sketchy hiccup in their plans to steal a ship in the last episode, our crew is finally in the building that holds their quarry. With more than a few good hacks and a couple clever tips of the scale, they make it through the facility with surprising ease. But what's next for the former crew of the BD514? And how will they handle this transaction with Sinjin? Come find out in the finale of We're No Heroes! 3 ditches the shield, Glenn steals a model ship, and Doc hacks a Roomba, this week on The Rolled Standard.
#58 We're No Heroes Part 8 (Starfinder)05 Nov 202100:54:32

With Vohxa at their back and a flimsy story for EJ Corp., the crew tries to settle things with Tar to smooth things over. At the same time, Tar tells them of an invitation from Sinjin to meet, with an offer of another job. After hearing Sinjin's plans, the boys all receive a message that helps to lock in their decision. After a little research and a lot of hacking, they find their quarry, but not before 3 finds himself in a compromising situation. 3 dresses as a janitor, Glenn watches the door, and Doc cuts the loose ends, this week on The Rolled Standard.

#57 Open Graves (Mörk Borg)29 Oct 202102:18:44
This week, we take a break from our regularly scheduled programming to bring you some Mörk Borg! In this, our Halloween Special One-Shot, we take you on a journey with three unfortunate "souls" on a quest to recover their...well, souls. It's our longest episode to date with tons of post-production effects. We had a great time recording it and we hope you have a great time listening to it. Happy Halloween and as always, don't sniff glue!
#56 We're No Heroes Part 7 (Starfinder)22 Oct 202101:11:06

Picking up during a tense showdown, our team fights for what they believe. After the dust (snow) has settled, the "team" takes what remains of their cargo to the awaiting Authority armory with their teeth and other body parts clenched tight. They make their drop-off and quickly leave the planet after an interesting interaction with Commander Vash and then the Resistance. 3 lies, Glenn lies, and Doc tells the truth, this week on The Rolled Standard.

#55 We're No Heroes Part 6 (Starfinder)15 Oct 202100:59:06

After a mixed-up encounter with the bounty hunter, Horizon, the crew takes a job from an associate of Sinjin, a very powerful underworld boss and an old friend of Glenn. Making it to the war-torn planet of Vohxa our guys catch no breaks finding out they have to carry their haul by truck up a mountain. After a strange figure speaks to them about the load they're carrying, the team is "split" with potentially deadly consequences. 3 takes the keys, Doc fires two shots, and Glenn sings "She'll Be Comin Round The Mountain", this week on The Rolled Standard.

#54 We're No Heroes Part 5 (Starfinder)08 Oct 202101:10:46

With the boys finally home at Absalom Station, they take some time to restock on goods and visit some friends. After another six-day trip in the drift, they make it to Apostae where they hope to pick up an easy job from an acquaintance of Glenn's. Waiting for their meeting, the team gets caught up in some drama they shouldn't have been a part of. Glenn looks for a costume, 3 visits an old fling, and Doc does some interesting research, this week on The Rolled Standard.

#53 A Year In Review01 Oct 202101:21:03

With 52 episodes spanning 7 different games, we decided to do a little reflecting on where we've been. In this bonus episode, for our one-year anniversary, we talk about our favorite arcs and characters, what moments were most impactful to us and the (luckily) few struggles we had to overcome to get here. All that, plus a special guest (you know), in this, our first Year In Review.

#52 Sundown Over White Hills (Call of Cthulhu)01 Oct 202101:55:53

Hey there, everyone! This time around, we'd like to take a moment to just say thank you. Whether you've listened from the beginning or are new to the show, thank you for being a part of the journey so far. To commemorate one year of the show, we give you what we're calling our One Year One-Shot, a nearly two-hour-long story set in White Hills, Arizona in the year 1888. We had a blast recording it and, after spending a little extra time in post-production, we hope you enjoy it too. With all that out of the way, we present to you Sundown Over White Hills, this week on The Rolled Standard.

#159 Trigger Warning Part 11: Four in the Pink (CY_Borg with Walton Wood)02 Feb 202401:02:33

Off the rails and into alleys, the crew makes their way to Raw Drug in hopes of finding an easy big score. Let's not kid anyone here, we know it won't be, right? Les actually uses his power drill, Perseus "interrogates" a man, Sword Lad masks the stench, and Linda ends the torture, this week, on The Rolled Standard.

#51 We're No Heroes Part 4 (Starfinder)24 Sep 202101:03:07
Even after only making half the expected credits from their delivery, it seems our crew's luck goes from bad to worse. Glenn gets attacked before they can even leave the planet, but they finally make a quick getaway into drift space in the direction of Absalom Station. Of course, nothing can go wrong in drift space, right? I guess we'll find out. Glenn finds out he hates computers, Doc warns against heavy Yo-Yoing, and 3 admits that he never learned to fly, this week in The Rolled Standard.
#50 We're No Heroes Part 3 (Starfinder)17 Sep 202100:56:59
With their Yaro berries quickly starting to go bad from a week of travel through drift space, our crew finally makes it to Akiton, eager to drop off their cargo and get paid. Taking a surprisingly cheap taxi to Ka Imports, their buyer, our boys soon realize that this job isn't going to be as easy as it seems. Doc gets some people sick, 3 calls a Zoomer, and Glenn has his ear whispered into, on this week's episode of The Rolled Standard.  Check out our website at www.therolledstandard.com.
#49 We're No Heroes Part 2 (Starfinder)10 Sep 202101:02:55
After making short work of the junkbot that blocked their path, our new team races to take care of the goblins that have been stealing crates from their shipment. With a fight full of gore thanks to Glenn and a short chase, it finally ends just as the police arrive.  After being held up so long, the trio gets lucky finding some help loading their ship from a few young men that recognize one of the crew. With all that said 3 makes a friend, Doc gives a statement, and Glenn scoops some berries, this week on The Rolled Standard. Check out our website at www.therolledstandard.com.
#48 We're No Heroes Part 1 (Starfinder)03 Sep 202100:53:24

Here we are! A new crew on a new adventure! Join our Kasatha Biohacker, Vesk Soldier, and Android Solarian as they start their journey off small; a routine delivery of Yaro berries for a man just looking to make retirement. Of course, it can't just be that simple, goblin malware on a datapad and a suspicious block in the road puts our new friends in the hot seat. Glenn finds some mozzarella sticks, Doc resets a password, and 3 eats some chocolate-covered cherries, on this episode of The Rolled Standard.

Visit our website at www.therolledstandard.com.

#47 Apocalypse Keys Review27 Aug 202100:51:27
After wrapping up a few stories all at once and leaving a seed for others, we all finally sit down and tell you how we really feel about Apocalypse Keys. Come join us for a few good goofs and a little more serious talk about the deeper mechanics and original story beats of this playtest, on The Rolled Standard. Check out our website at www.therolledstandard.com.
#46 Weep Your Hands Clean Finale (Apocalypse Keys)20 Aug 202100:53:12

After laying Albuquerque's ghost problems to rest and "reuniting" with their old friend, our monstrous friends finally confront Hubert Salazar. With the fate of the world at stake, the group takes measures to prevent Huey from having a chance at success. When the dust settles, who's left standing? Come find out on this, our final episode of Apocalypse Keys. Chase makes a phone call, Gai answers a call, Charlie's phone is gross, and Paul stops recording, on this episode of The Rolled Standard.  Stop by our website at www.therolledstandard.com.

#45 Weep Your Hands Clean Part 8 (Apocalypse Keys)13 Aug 202100:51:33

In this, our (slightly shorter) penultimate episode of this arc, our monstrous trio finally makes their way back to Albuquerque from Silver Lake in an attempt to reach Hubert and put an end to his plans once and for all. With a little bit of "sleight of hand" Charlie finds an easy way into the sewers, and in an attempt to expedite the search, Chase reaches out for some guidance from his old friend and mentor, leading the group to a confrontation with two familiar faces. Charlie vomits, Gai Googles directions, and Chase throws a phone. All this and more on The Rolled Standard. Stop by our website at www.therolledstandard.com.

#44 Weep Your Hands Clean Part 7 (Apocalypse Keys)06 Aug 202101:02:52
With our new friend's ghostly interaction, our monsters are pointed to Silver Lake, Wyoming to get information from the last person who might have information about Hubert Salazar. Their new heading fresh in their heads, they pull Paul back into the team because, as Chase would say "nothing's worth doing if you're not filming it". After making friends at the lake, the boys finally find their mark, and potentially, the last piece of the puzzle. Gai unpacks Paul's room, Chase picks out a shirt for Paul, and Charlie finally makes friends...with Paul! All of that and more on this week's episode of The Rolled Standard. Visit our website at www.therolledstandard.com.
#43 Weep Your Hands Clean Part 6 (Apocalypse Keys)30 Jul 202100:58:42

With their friend missing, Charlie and Gai call Noah to ask for help. Finding out there is another monster in the DIVISION's employ currently in Albuquerque that can possibly help them settle the problems, the guys find themselves working with a popular TV personality. After a small "exchange of backgrounds", the new trio travels to White Hills, New Mexico to get some answers from a familiar character. Charlie makes multiple calls, Gai does some unwanted remodeling, and our new friend, Chase, takes his shirt off, on this episode of The Rolled Standard. Check out our website at www.therolledstandard.com.

#42 Weep Your Hands Clean Part 5 (Apocalypse Keys)23 Jul 202101:11:09

With a few potential pieces to the puzzle and a new, otherworldly heading, our monstrous friends make their way to Faerie to see a familiar face. With the help they find there, it seems the mystery is unfolding and the group finally finds time for a rest and to deal with some of their personal issues. In the morning, things get worse before they get better, far worse. Of course, Gai has a heart to heart, Charlie does a striptease(?), and Erix falls asleep, all in the same scene, this time on The Rolled Standard.

#158 Trigger Warning Part 10: Public Transit Enemy #1 (CY_Borg with Walton Wood)19 Jan 202400:59:59

Finally, en route to their big job, the boys find themselves in a race against time while the looming pressure of their wanted status starts bearing down on them. Perseus climbs a ladder, Sword Lad gets the finger, Les sprays and prays, and Linda takes his shot, this week on The Rolled Standard

Caught in another situation with people dead and police on their way, our monsters finally make it back to the relative safety of their hotel. Grasping for keys, Erix struggles with multiple odd supernatural encounters, all on top of the strange black water showing up once again. With these strange occurrences piling up they decide to make a call to their handler, Noah, who helps put the pieces together. Otherwise, Erix plunges a toilet, Charlie reads some Spanish, and Gai laughs until he cries, this week on The Rolled Standard.

#40 Weep Your Hands Clean Part 3 (Apocalypse Keys)09 Jul 202100:58:05
Finding themselves between a rock and a hard place, our monsters get split up. While Erix and Charlie have a moment, Gai finds himself under fire, literally. Worrying for their friend, the other two take off to find a harrowing scene. Surrounded by enemies and Gai nowhere in sight, Charlie takes drastic measures to eliminate the immediate threats. As always, Gai "drives a car", Erix "flies a kite", and Charlie gains, and shortly after, loses some weight. You'll see what I mean in this episode of The Rolled Standard.
#39 Weep Your Hands Clean Part 2 (Apocalypse Keys)02 Jul 202101:00:36
In our second episode of Apocalypse Keys we witness our monstrous friends' confidence start to falter. With Charlie sure that he can pull information from a general of the local street gang, things take a turn for the worse when he starts to lose control. It seems their investigation may be falling apart before they even get started. Gai steals a car, Erix calms himself down, and Charlie works on some deconstruction.
#38 Weep Your Hands Clean Part 1 (Apocalypse Keys)25 Jun 202101:05:07

In our newest adventure, our three monsters, Erix, Charlie, And Gai, make their way to Albuquerque, New Mexico to investigate a series of potentially supernatural murders within the homeless community there. After sorting through some background information and setting the scene, the boys are on their way. So as usual, Erix throws a pen, Gai gets interested in music, and Charlie smokes a cigarette.

#37 Numenera Review 24 Jun 202100:56:41

As we leave our small story in the distant future on a literal cliffhanger, we take a little bit of time to look back at the strange otherworldly adventures we had along the way. Some spoilers ahead (12:57 - 21:41) for anyone who is interested in seeing the "alternative" ending to the journey for yourselves. Otherwise, we welcome you to come and say goodbye to the Ninth World with us, here on The Rolled Standard.  Oh, and, of course, a link to Feedspot below! https://blog.feedspot.com/tabletop_rpg_podcasts/

#36 Vortex Finale (Numenera)11 Jun 202101:02:17

Finally reaching their goal of entering the strange teleporting structure, our little crew is cautiously surprised by what they find. If you're familiar with the Numenera starter set, this is where things take a bit of a (casual?) turn. Umbrus "falls" for a lady, Faroon wants to touch "It", and Kalain finds a good use for his "dog toy" on this, our finale of Numenera.

#35 Vortex Part 5 (Numenera)04 Jun 202101:12:06

After a brief and awkward encounter with some birds, and a far too meta experience with a first-world piece of Numenera, the team takes a few days to rest and prepare. As the long-awaited moment arrives, we are met with a new task. Faroon gets a little smarter, Umbrus pukes, and Kalain hides in a box, for your entertainment, on this episode of The Rolled Standard.  Oh, and, of course, a link to Feedspot below!   https://blog.feedspot.com/tabletop_rpg_podcasts/

After taking an extra day of "rest and relaxation" at the taphouse. Kalain, Faroon, and Umbrus finally set off on their Journey north to hopefully learn more about the mysterious yellow robed figures and their strange complex. Faroon "ties" a few knots, Kalain gathers firewood, and Umbrus makes a new friend. All with a little moon cabbage sprinkled on top.  Oh, and, of course, a link to Feedspot below! https://blog.feedspot.com/tabletop_rpg_podcasts/

With their bounty in hand and a long road ahead of them, it's time for our friends to have a night getting acquainted with the locals. #32 Vortex Part 2 (Numenera)14 May 202101:14:36
As our unfortunate little group of misfits pick themselves up from their first harrowing encounter, they finally make their way to Jute. In search for leads to the possible whereabouts of the mysterious yellow robes, the trio picks up a job in exchange for food and well, drugs...its drugs. Kalain sits on a wall, Faroon digs through a satchel, and Umbrus takes his belt off. Today, on The Rolled Standard.

#31 Vortex Part 1 (Numenera)07 May 202101:15:37
Welcome everyone to The Ninth World! Where 8 ages before us have climbed to unimaginable heights, and fallen to be all but forgotten. This is Numenera. But all of the amazing stories you could be trying to fathom are, ironically, further ahead of us. Today we start small, nowhere of note with seemingly no one worth speaking of. Three "would be" adventurers are walking through a forest. Sound like the beginning of a joke? You couldn't be more right friends, but it's not for me to spoil the punch line. Come take a leap of faith with me, into this new and interesting world, on The Rolled Standard.

With the clock ticking down faster and faster, the boys have little idea what to do to stop the horror that is now threatening the world. After all this time, all we can do is wait and see. James calls an old friend, Jon has a chat with a new enemy, and Huey makes a deal. You know I can't tell you all the good stuff, right?
