| Signature Songs, Vol. 3 - The Rolling Stones | 26 Mar 2026 | 00:11:54 | |
This week on the Rock-N-Roll Show Podcast, I'm tackling a real challenge in my Signature Song series: what is The Rolling Stones’ signature song? With a catalog this deep, this is not a simple call. The Stones have produced swaggering riffs, generation-defining singles, stadium anthems, and songs that have become part of the culture itself. So which one stands above the rest as the track most commonly associated with the band by the general public? In this episode, I break down the leading contenders, look at what makes a true signature song to begin with, and make the case for the one Stones classic that I believe ultimately wins the title. If you love rock history, big songs, and a good music argument, this one’s for you. Podcast Playlist: ===========================
| Episode 074 - Steven Gonza - The Interview | 17 Mar 2026 | 00:39:49 | |
This week on the Rock-N-Roll Show Podcast, I’m joined by Steven Gonza—singer, guitarist, and primary songwriter for Connecticut hard rock band Ink—to discuss Broken Wings, a 22-song solo album made up of material that never fit his band’s sound. These songs come from a very different place—more intimate, more melodic, and often written with a woman’s voice and piano in mind. We talk about Steve’s songwriting process, the difference between writing for Ink and writing for himself, and how this long-shelved material finally became a finished album. It’s a thoughtful conversation about creativity, instinct, and the songs that wait years to find their proper form. Check out the Broken Wings album on YouTube. ===========================

| Signature Songs - Queen | 24 Feb 2026 | 00:12:12 | |
This week on the Rock-N-Roll Show Podcast, I'm launching a new series, “Signature Songs,” exploring the single track most associated with the greatest artists in rock-n-roll. To kick off the series, I'm starting with Queen, reviewing their major hits as well as the criteria for what defines a signature song beyond simple chart success. Queen is a special problem—because they didn’t just have hits, they had cultural events. Stadium anthems, radio staples, singalongs that have outlived entire eras… and more than a few songs that could credibly wear the crown. In this episode, I lay out the shortlist, break down what makes a true signature song (recognition, impact, longevity, identity—not just numbers), and then I make the call. **I won’t spoil the final pick here—**but I will say this: you’ll probably have a strong opinion, and I want to hear it. Before the reveal: what’s your Queen signature song? Drop it in the comments. 00:00 Welcome and New Series 01:22 What Is a Signature Song 02:48 Examples and Gray Areas 03:50 Why Start With Queen 04:51 Contenders for Queens Signature 07:35 My Top Five Queen Songs 09:49 Queen's Signature Song 10:38 Listener Debate and Wrap Up 👍 Like & subscribe for weekly rock history and debates ===========================

| Episode 024 - Top 10 First Songs on First Albums | 03 Sep 2024 | 00:23:22 | |
We’re trying something new on the show this week – a Top 10 List! Our first Top 10 list counts down the best first songs from an act’s debut album. We find it really interesting to see how new bands present themselves to the public right from the start. And what’s the best way for a new band or artist to make a good first impression? Put out a great first song, and put that song at the beginning of the act’s first album.
Interestingly, most acts in the pre-streaming age didn’t do the second part – there are actually very few debut albums from the most influential acts across the decades of rock-n-roll music that start with the best song on the album. So we’re looking at the best of those first songs on first albums – and we want to hear from you to see how we did….what’d we get right? Wrong? Let us know in the comments, as you follow along with the Top 10 First Songs on an Act’s First Album, this week on the Rock-N-Roll Show Podcast! ===========================
