S2, Ep 3: Intuitive Career Change - with Sarah Potter
Saison 2 · Épisode 3
mardi 9 novembre 2021 • Durée 01:00:25
Welcome to 'The Rewriters' podcast. In this episode I speak with Sarah Potter AKA La Dolce Vita Coach. Sarah is a Hypnotherapist and Emotional Intelligence Coach, she offers Reiki, Marketing for healers, coaches and therapists and she's also a Vegan Cake Maker! Sarah describes herself as a 'multi-potential' woman. We talk about what this means during our conversation, but essentially Sarah has lots of loves and different threads to her career. She is unapologetic about it and she loves to help other women unfurl their own multi-potential careers too.
Coaching and hypnosis helped Sarah get unstuck from an outwardly successful life in international marketing that left her feeling hollow inside. Using many of the tools we discuss in this episode, she was able to build a life that embraced her love for travel, service and creativity – all supported by a portfolio (or multi-potential) career.
During our conversation we also discuss the role intuition and values played in her career changes and try to dispel some of the myths about changing your mind mid-career.

S2, Ep 2: Is Alcohol Holding You Back? – with Izzy McLean
Saison 2 · Épisode 2
mardi 5 octobre 2021 • Durée 01:05:38
My guest is Izzy McLean, a Transformational Coach and founder of The Whole Of The Moon, who works with women to help them make the changes they want to see in their lives. One of her key programmes She Bangs the Drum is dedicated specifically to women wanting a more positive relationship with alcohol.
Driven by her desire to understand and get a handle on her relationship with alcohol, Izzy spent many years studying the science and practice of behaviour change before training as a coach and resigning from her leadership role in education to start her own coaching practice. Now, she's on a mission to share what she has learnt and help other women make the changes they want to see in their lives too. During this conversation Izzy and I share the reasons why we each decided to reassess our relationship with alcohol and where we’re at in our own journeys. This episode was created for anyone who has a niggle that their relationship with alcohol might not be working for them either.

In this episode I share:

How to self-promote (particularly if you loathe self-promotion)Why I think careers are like gardens

Saison 1 · Épisode 9
mardi 15 juin 2021 • Durée 33:50
Welcome to this, the final episode of Season 1, with me your host and resident Rewriter, Monique Shaw.
Today’s episode is all about creating your own personal definition of success. This is such an important topic for me and is something I’ve been thinking and talking about a lot this last year, both personally and professionally. In this episode I’ll unpack…
What we mean by success and being successful
The importance of getting honest with ourselves about how we define success
How we can (and should) look at success and wealth differently to create our own definition
The fluid and changing nature of success
My own ‘success’ journey and how I’m rewriting it
Throughout the episode I share a number of questions for you to answer and explore as you work through your own ‘success’ journey and rewrite.

Saison 1 · Épisode 7
mardi 6 avril 2021 • Durée 48:53
Welcome to Episode 7 of The Rewriters.
The Rewriter we feature in this episode is Dr. Parth Shah. Parth has an extraordinary career story and an impressive history of career rewrites. He is an Optometrist by trade and a Trustee of the Board of the College of Optometrists, the UK’s professional body for optometrists. Earlier in his career he worked in academia as a lecturer and clinical supervisor, he completed his PhD, pivoted into the corporate world at a strategy consultancy, pivoted out of that into self-employment, founding his practice and along the way worked in Premier League Football and got an Executive MBA at Cambridge Judge Business School.
In this often philosophical conversation, Parth explains how he makes such bold career moves without certainty or bags of confidence. We discuss imposter syndrome and also delve into the need to create space in our lives and communities to allow deeper conversation, connection and empathy – particularly with those we disagree with.
Parth refers to the following books during the episode – Working Identity by Herminia Ibarra and Range by David Epstein. Connect with Parth on LinkedIn.
