On episode 14, an episode in the SMASH CUT series, I’m reviewing 2024’s “TWISTERS”. The film follows Kate Carter, a meteorologist and former storm chaser dealing with past trauma. Reunited with her colleague Javi, she accepts a trial position to test a new tornado radar system after a recent devastating tornado. Traveling to Oklahoma for research, they encounter popular YouTube storm chaser Tyler Owens, the “tornado wrangler”. As both teams prepare for an impending tornado outbreak, they confront the terrifying reality of destructive storm cells, leading to a dramatic fight for survival.

Introducing an extension of “The Reaction Shot Podcast” with a series of episodes titled SMASH CUT. I’ll feature smash cut episodes randomly between my regular POV episodes. They will feature a quick review of a film I recently watched consisting purely of MY reaction.

First up is M. Night Shyamalan’s psychological crime thriller, “TRAP”. Starring Josh Hartnett as a a father who’s attending a pop concert with his teenage daughter only to realize they’ve entered a trap for a serial killer who’s in attendance.

Let me tell you about this videotape I found for episode 3: “POV: THE RING (2002)”. Returning guest Lauren and I talk about all things “THE RING”. The 2002 Psychological Tech-Horror Mystery was a pop-culture phenomenon at the time of its release. Since then, there has been several sequels and multiple variations of Samara’s legacy. How does the movie hold-up? Did it scare Lauren like it did when she was young? Meet us in Cabin 12 and find out!

“First, you need to know something about them. The beautiful ones. The flawless four…”. For Episode 2, special guest Lauren Drake and I strut our shit right down the hallway with Courtney Shayne and gang as we dissect 1999’s satirical dark teen crime comedy, “JAWBREAKER”. This was Lauren’s first time watching compared to my 100+ viewings. What’s her reaction? Wonder where she stands?
