It has been a long time in the making, but we finally got around to discussing the Legend of Zelda games! Sean and Adam go through the series, discuss the interconnectivity of them, and what we like about them while Mike gets to learn.

With the excitement over some perceived DRM changes with Playstation, we decided to chat about DRM; What it is, why it's used, what the changes means, and so on! Here's hoping its as educational as it was fun to talk about.

Saros is releasing this week! New Street Fighter movie trailer dropped, Assassin's Creed: Black Flag Resynced is the worst kept secret, & Starfield has been out on PS5 for a bit, now. Some noteworthy changes coming to Xbox under Asha Sharma, and a new segment- The Marathon Minute!

No Man's Sky released their 42nd update to the game, Shinobi had some DLC drop and the Mario Galaxy Movie was a movie. Nintendo had a few leaks pop up with some exciting potential, another rumor about a potential State of Play at Sony, and The Gaming Historian is hanging up his learning cap after 15 years.

We trade book club for a movie review! We went to see Project Hail Mary this weekend and discuss the movie and differences from the book. Fortnite also laid off a ton of employees, Nintendo is lowering digital game prices while Playstation is testing dynamic pricing, and Unity is still hanging around. Oh, and Vampire crawlers got a release date!

Jeff Kaplan gives a little insight behind Overwatch's lifespan and expectations from higher-ups, and also gives a look at the new game he has been involved with. Sony got hit with a lawsuit, Xbox gave the smallest of teasers on Project Helix. and not everything is an Xbox now.

We go over the Pokemon reveals from the Pokemon day celebration showcase, do some book talk, and talk about the Paramount WB merger. We also hit on the state of Xbox, leadership changes, and try to predict what the next generation of gaming will look like.

Mike and Adam decided to sit down and play a little Minecraft and discuss the success its had and how it got its start.

Nintendo had a new Partner Showcase, RAM prices may have delayed Steam's Steam Machine release, and Minecraft got a couple of interesting updates. We're also getting a D&D HBO series set after Baldur's Gate 3. All that and more on this week's episode!

Today's topic: RPGs! A genre we grew up playing and has stood the test of times, been revolutionized time and again, and has so many different flavors and additions that no two are generally alike. So that's what this is about, and discussing IGN's top 100 RPG list.

So...Unity laid off Major Nelson after a short stint. But AGDQ raised a ton for Prevent Cancer Foundation, so that's great news! We also discuss Landcrab's pricing "philosophy," Kennedy leaving Lucasfilm, and Ron Pearlman's initial Fallout payment.,

2025 Steam Award winners list is out, plus an interesting game on caught our eyes: Vital Shell! It also might be indicative of a new term here to stay in Bullet Heavens. Xbox has a new Developer Direct coming soon, Switch 2's holiday sales weren't as spectacular as seasons past, and Ubisoft shuts down Halifax Studio.

Our first episode of the new year, and it's a doozy!

Sprinkle in a little Stranger Things finale talk, Doctor Who, and other shows, discussing some game releases of this year we're excited for, and what we've been up to since the break, all while building our Gundams from the Game Awards bet; it's a nice, long episode to kick back with.

And the winner is....

The Game Awards are on! We run down the winners during the podcast, talk about some leaks and news that came out before the show, and advertising prices. We also cover Harada leaving, Evo's lineup, Capcom investing in their titles, and Rockstar's firing of employees. Oh, and Skyrim is out, again.

Our preamble turned into a long ramble.

The Game Awards is happening soon, so we placed our bets. "Bad Robot" studios entered into a partnership with Playstation to publish their game, Metroid Prime 4 was released, & Fortnite has had a rocky launch to Chapter 7. Destiny Renegades seems to be doing well, despite not reaching the heights it once had and Embracer is selling off even more IPs.

Hopefully no sleeper agents were activated after this episode. Poncle has had a busy few weeks with Vampire Survivors VR announced and partnership with Auroch to bring Warhammer Survivors. Valve revealed their new VR headset, controller, and a brand new "console" to the markets, Ubisoft cancelled their earnings call just before it started, and Death Stranding is getting an anime?

This one starts off a little different. Amazon had a massive layoff in their gaming division, some games are shutting down, or ceasing development. Halo: Campaign Evolved was revealed and is coming to Sony in 2026, Vampire Survivor's last 2 updates were revealed, and a Japan patent office rejected Pokemon's patent application.

This episode was not made with AI, but it seems as though a lot more games in the future will be. Counter-Strike 2's skin trading market got a shake up recently, Vampire Survivors and No Man's Sky are getting new updates, and there's some rumors of a new Halo game reveal. Remedy's CEO also stepped down recently and we get some news on the Assassin's Creed series.

We go from 3 to 4 (people) this episode! The United Videogame Works Union is asking for more scrutiny on the EA buyout, Saints Row's design director says GTA 6 "deserves to be $100," and Sony's pushing back on Tencent's "Light of Motiram." We also discuss photo mode in games, the RoG Ally and some of its abilities, and Nintendo's response to hackers.

It's a new podcast: a solo episode! Adam gives a quick run down of some news from the last week, including leaks from the Pokemon teraleak, Battlefield 6's launch over the weekend, and a look at Borderlands 4's roadmap. Destiny also continues its slow bleed of players and a long time Halo vet leaves the studio.

Round 2: Electric Boogaloo! We lost a recording, so had to re-record, so we re-cover Sony's State of Play, Ghosts of Yotei reviews, Payday devs cancelling a co-op D&D game, and Hades II is doing great. We also look at the Saudi Arabi & EA deal and what is going on with Xbox.

We're back at full strength this week! Team Cherry is working on smoothing out some wrinkles from Silksong's release, Valve possibly adjusting their post-launch DLC guidelines, and is this the year of 2D side-scrollers?

We also talk about Battlefield 6's development, Marvel 1943 leaks, the Pokemon Patent and what it could mean going forward, and why some people might prefer inverted or non-inverted controls.

Happy Silksong release! The game even brought down some eshops for a bit. Kojima Productions turns 10 this year and are celebrating, Borderlands 4 gives a look at their post-launch roadmap, Sony possibly making a portable console, and Stardew dev assisted with Silksong's production?

We have some more book talk to start this one off (this is a video game podcast.) Kev Levine shares some insights on their approach to their "villain" for Judas, Adam does a mini review of Gears of War's remaster, and No Man's Sky has yet another game update! We also dive a little in Bungie changing planned updates based on community feedback, and discuss devs not getting Switch 2 dev kits.

We have a new one for your ears this week! Borderlands 4 has gone gold, Ghosts of Yotei may not get a multiplayer mode, and the Lego Game Boy's price was revealed. Double fine, and we, pay our respect to the late Ozzy Osborne, as well.

Mike's taking command of the ship this episode to talk about his favorite series: Kingdom Hearts! They touch on all 14 games in the series, cover the main storyline line, and speculate on what the future for KH might look like.

Aaron "Big Deal" Deal, the bassist for Darkest Hour, sat down for about an hour discussing mutual admiration for retro gaming, emulation, modern VS retro gaming, and how Nintendo is in a league of their own. We've been away for a little with life and everything, so for this episode we got together to build some Gunpla and talk about games. Get ready for some chill vibes on this one!

A few more video game movies are on the way! Sonic 3 has found its voice for Shadow, the Minecraft movie is in full swing, and now Fallout is on TV. Weta Workshop and Private Division are working on "Tales of the Shire" while a former Blizzard president says gamers should tip game devs. "Stop Killing Games" also has gained traction lately.

There's a lot of doom & gloom around the video game markets, fears of another video game crash. We run down the games Xbox showed off during their partner showcase, the industry was hit with more layoffs, & Nintendo ends Yuzu.

Larian won several more awards at the Dice Awards recently. More rounds of layoffs have hit several more studios, including Playstation, Xbox had to put out fires and lay out their business plan, and Helldivers 2 has been a pretty big hit.

We're finally back with our first episode of the new year! Palworld released in early access and has taken over Steam with time played. Layoffs are already hitting the industry hard early in 2024 and is expected to continue for the year or more, GDQ just wrapped up, and we talk about the Xbox Developer Direct and look at the news that closed out 2023.

GTA VI is real! Unfortunately, Rockstar had their trailer leaked ahead of the debut. Sony is removing paid content from their libraries and accounts are getting suspended. Vampire Survivors got its adventure update and the third Sonic movie teased Shadow's appearance.

Destiny's coming expansion, The Final Shape, was officially delayed until June. Ubisoft was experimented with in-game ads for paid games and Eminem is coming to Fortnite. Half-Life also turned 25!

Call of Duty's newest entry barely has a campaign and Amazon went through another round of layoffs in their gaming division. The nominees for the Game Awards are out, GTA VI is getting a trailer in December, and we're getting a live-action Legend of Zelda movie?

A new week, a new round of layoffs. This time, beloved studio, Bungie, earned the ire of the Destiny community after their layoffs started coming to light. Xbox is protecting their ecosystem by denying access to unauthorized accessories, Disney Dreamlight Valley devs switch from free-to-play to a paid game on release, and MK1 fans are upset about paid fatalities.

Destiny 2's Halloween event isn't meeting players' expectations, it seems. Playstation's ex-CEO, Shaw Layden, shared his worries about consolidation in the industry and game preservation and Insomniac's Spider-man is pulling record sales. Respawn also looks to be teasing something Titanfall related lately.

End of an era: After 24 years, Pete Hines is leaving Bethesda. Unity's CEO, John Riccitello is also out, Bobby Kotick will also be leaving Activision Blizzard Jan. 1 , 2024. On the plus side, we got Lego Animal Crossing sets and now know Mario's new voice actor!

It has been a rough week for the games industry as a whole. Multiple studios facing layoffs, Pokemon Company running out of Van Gogh collab merch, and Sony's president is stepping down.

The Activision-Blizzard & Microsoft merger was approved by the UK's CMA and looks to close some time in October. Call of Duty seems like it's making its way to Game Pass already as well. Capcom wants to be seen as equals in the gaming markets and Destiny has been fending off a weeks-long DDoS attack it seems.

What a week (or two since we missed last week) huh? Gearbox studios may be up for sale, Tears of the Kingdom isn't getting any DLC, unfortunately, but we're getting a Sora amiibo. Xbox also had some documents leak and Unity creators proposed changes to their fees, upsetting many devs in the process.
