Suicidal Thoughts/Attempts in Pediatric Patients27 Mar 202300:34:33

*DISCLAIMER*

Today’s episode contains discussions related to suicide and sexual trauma. Both are very sensitive topics to discuss for many and can sometimes trigger intense emotions and thoughts. Some of us work with pediatrics on a regular basis, and some of us do not. It's important to remember though that ALL of us should all know how to act when time is of the essence in a case like this. In this episode, we'll discuss how to identify the risk of pediatric suicidal thoughts/attempts, how to respond in the moment, and how to plan for the next time. Sometimes the most important discussions can be the most difficult.

Saying Goodbye to Patients (The Right Way) - Part 321 Jul 202000:33:34

Episode 6: Dr. Shawn Neff is BACK with Part 3 of our series on saying goodbye to patients. Remember back in episodes 3 and 5, sometimes we do this because a patient is either doing well and no longer needs our care or maybe co-management with another provider is the next step. In this episode, we talk about the “not-so-fun” reasons. Maybe your treatment options aren’t working, so now we need to try something else? Maybe the patient has a condition outside of your scope or something potentially life threatening that needs to be referred out immediately?
