Ep 26: Gadgets29 août 202500:52:36

As the panel sit down to discuss favourite gadgets it becomes quite clear that the age separation also reflects a practical skills separation. Andy likes tech gadgetry, Gareth tends to agree but Martin prefers old school, practical gadgets (albeit with a couple of modern flourishes). Interstingly, post recording this episode, Andy confessed that his wife had recently obtained the exact same practical gadget (from her dad) that Martin was extolling the virtues of as a top choice!

As we say, there are no bad choices but as we frequently prove there are some bad opinions. Let us know what gadgets you can't live without.

Ep 25 : Foods ( we could eat forever)22 août 202500:53:01

Summer is over and the boys are back recording new episodes of the Pick 3 Show. Nothing has changed in that they still discuss, dissect and deride each others choices on any subject sent down from the PickMaster general's office.

Today the discussion covers "Foods (that we could eat forever)" and at least one panellist has a somewhat unique selection as their favourite food! As usual our listeners have their own views and this gives us a unique insight into our audience. Please keep sending us your suggestions as they all make their way to the PM's office.

Ep 24 : Cars15 août 202500:52:27

We have all had many experiences with cars but what were your favourites over the years? The panel meet to discuss the top 3 cars they have owned and the stories that go with them. The rules were simple, all cars must have been owned by panellists and so no chat about Bugattis or Maserattis was tolerated by the PickMaster General.

Let us know your own top 3 car choices and memories via our X and BlueSky portals.

Ep 23 : James Bond movies08 août 202500:48:22

With Gareth claiming (erroneously) that he understands the world of covert operations and espionage, the panel turn their thoughts to the adventures of the world's most well known secret agent, James Bond (aka 007). With over 20 movies to choose from will the three decades of separation between the panel become somewhat era specific?

Join Martin, Gareth and Andy as they pick their top 3 James Bond movies and then argue with each other over many aspects of these adventures. Surprisingly some correlation starts to appear...

Send us your choices via our X and BlueSky portals, there are no wrong answers but there may well be poor opinions.

Ep 22 : Planes (with Col. Lou McSheffrey)01 août 202500:53:41

An old friend came into town and declared his allegiance to the show. We took that as an opportunity to do a somewhat niche topic of Top 3 planes/helicopters particularly since Lou flew both for the US military. Possibly not everyone's immediate cup of tea but it turned out to be an enlightening chat with more fun/laughs than you might imagine.

Join Martin, Gareth, Andy and Colonel Lou for a slightly unusual episode of the Pick 3 Show. Not sure what our listener choices would be but please forward your lists via our X or BlueSky portals.

Ep 21 : Dinner Guests25 juil. 202500:48:46

Who would you invite round for dinner if you could pick your most fascinating options? Only proviso is that they must still be alive at time of selection. Martin, Gareth & Andy thought long and hard about their perfect dinner combos and, unsurprisingly, all came up with completely different guest lists. There are no wrong answers but the panel still had to justify their picks.

Let us know via X or BlueSky who would be your selections if you had free range to choose.

Ep 20 : Movie Soundtracks18 juil. 202500:55:03

Every movie needs music but some movie soundtracks become truly iconic. The Pick 3 panel debate their top three movie soundtracks and take a few pot shots at each others' choices. Gareth goes disco, Andy goes spooky but Martin delivers the ultimate choice (his words) to silence the debate. As usual the three decades of separation play a significant role in the selections.

Interact with the podcast via X or Bluesky and keep sending us your selections for us to comment upon.

Ep 19 : Adverts11 juil. 202500:48:32

The panel debate their top 3 choices of memorable advert, surely an easy choice for marketing guru Andy. Whether it was an earworm song that stuck in your head, a visual image of epic scale or simply a suave deliverer of chocolates, adverts affect us all differently. With three decades of separation it is no surprise that the panel have a wide range of advert choices.

Interact with the podcast via X or BlueSky and keep sending us your choices.

Ep 18 : Childhood Fears04 juil. 202500:50:36

The PickMaster General threw the panel a curve ball this week and asked them to rank their top 3 childhood fears. Will this episode explain something about Andy's obsession with ghosts, Gareth's fear of the fog and Martin's dislike of hospitals. As ever there is much debate and some derision about the choices but at the end of the day we all know what scared us as kids.

Interact with the podcast via X or BlueSky and keep sending us your choices and opinions. There are no wrong choices, just poor opinions.

Ep 17 : Documentaries27 juin 202500:46:36

The Pick 3 panel tackle the wide and varied topic "documentaries" on this weeks episode. As has become apparent over the course of the show, the age differential plays a significant role in choices, but as usual everyone finds something to spark debate.

Please continue to send topic suggestions and alternate lists remembering that there are no bad picks but we can find some bad opinions!

Ep 16 : Historical Events (that you would like to have witnessed in person)20 juin 202500:54:53

The panel take a trip into the past and visit a prehistoric location to record with a listener, Victoria, who became "Pickmaster for a day" and who set the challenge to select our top three choices of historical events that we would like to have witnessed in person.

Suffice to say the choices are wide and varied, sublime and ridiculous and probably typical of the intellect of the individual panel members. An episode that cannot possibly be predicted but hopefully an interesting selection to enjoy.

Please continue to forward topic suggestions via our social media platforms on BlueSky and X, who knows maybe you will get to join us on the show!

Ep 15 : Movie Villains13 juin 202500:51:41

Another huge subject from which we create lists of our top 3 movie villains. Regular listeners may not be overly surprised by some of the panel's choices but there are definitely a few surprises and one particular moment of clairvoyance! Does the release date of this episode give a huge clue to the identity of one of the villains?

Let us know who you rate as the biggest movie villains of all time are and interact with the Pick 3 Show via our X & BlueSky portals.

Ep 14 : Books06 juin 202500:49:51

Massive subject this week and one that certainly led to a debate amongst the panel. The biggest surprise might well be that stickler for the rules, Martin, might have skated very close to breaking them on this particular episode.

Please keep sending us your Pick 3 topics and your own lists, there are no wrong choices but there are bad opinions as we point out every week.

Bonus Ep : "Listener Feedback"01 juin 202500:34:37

Three months on from the launch of the Pick 3 Show Martin, Gareth and Andy sit down to review progress to date and consider listener feedback to our early episodes. This bonus pod shares some of our listeners opinions and impressions regarding the first dozen shows.

Please keep sending us your Pick 3 topics and any comments you wish to make about the show, we appreciate the constructive feedback. Thanks for listening and engaging with us.

Ep 13 : Jobs30 mai 202500:52:33

If you didn't do what you actually do, what would be your top 3 dream jobs? Martin, Gareth and Andy meet to discuss their thinking on this wide ranging subject and suffice to say that there are some adventurous selections, some stress free choices and then one panellist selects an option that left the other two "shaken but not stirred"!

Send us your lists or suggestions for future Pick 3 topics via X or Bluesky, who knows you might even join us on the show to discuss your top 3 choices.

Ep 12 : Worst Purchases23 mai 202500:49:36

An early episode of the Pick 3 Show detailed our best purchases for under £100. It also led to a fierce argument over what constituted a purchase and what was in fact a subscription!

Today's episode set the panel the challenge to identify the worst purchases that they had ever made. It is safe to say that there is almost no predictability in the panel's choices and, to be honest, there are a couple of fairly surprising admissions. Join us for what might be our most character revealing episode to date.

Ep 11 : British Sitcoms16 mai 202500:46:57

Everyone has their favourites but it is interesting to see the age dynamic at work in this particular genre. All of the panel grew up in a different era and this is clearly reflected in their choices this week. Sitcoms used to be a family staple geared towards everyone, but more recently there are a wide range of niche options to suit a variety of tastes. As usual, there is plenty of spirited discussion as Martin, Gareth and Andy debate their personal choices.

Ep 10 : Apps09 mai 202500:48:32

As Martin, Gareth and Andy meet to discuss their top 3 favourite phone apps, the generational differences become more obvious. For some practicality and essential services are the key considerations, for others it's about analysing product ingredients and collecting useful voice notes.

As we say on the Pick 3 Show, there are no wrong answers but there can be some very dubious choices!

Ep 9 : "Cartoons"02 mai 202500:45:37

Another trip back towards childhood for the panel as they discuss & debate their favourite childhood cartoons. Despite the age difference there is some crossover between the panel, plus a clear indication of where Andy's love of collecting toys started.

Interact with the podcast via X, BlueSky or Instagram and keep sending us your top 3 lists plus suggestions for other topics.

Ep 8 : "Bands" (Pre year 2000)25 avr. 202500:54:42

No subject that we have tackled to date has had more potential variance than our choices for the top bands playing/recording before the turn of the century. No shortage of potential choices but the age difference definitely factors into the panels choices.

Interact with the podcast via X, BlueSky or Instagram and send us your top 3 choices, best ones make it onto our listener review episode coming soon.

Ep 7 : "YouTube Channels"18 avr. 202500:48:35

With Pick 3 panellist Andy declaring his YouTube subscription as his top purchase under £100 (which earned him a yellow card warning from the Pickmaster General's office), the team decided to list their top 3 YouTube channels. Yet again the three decades of separation within the panel leads to a wide and varied set of selections.

Interact with the podcast via Instagram or Bluesky and let your opinions feature on future episodes.

Ep 6 : "Sporting Moments"11 avr. 202500:49:27

The Pick 3 team meet to discuss the top 3 sporting moments that they have either witnessed live in venue or live on TV. Naturally our listeners will have their own personalised lists but a fascinating discussion which highlights how many different sports capture the panel's interest. We cannot guarantee that your favourite will be on the list but we are happy to receive listeners lists for future reference on the show.

Ep 5: "Desert Island" survival04 avr. 202500:40:16

This weeks discussion revolves around top three items required to assist the panellists survive on a desert island. The brief appears remarkably simple but whilst some addressed survival concepts, others seemed to view it more light heartedly. Definitely an episode where the 3 decades of separation comes to the fore and one of the presenters definitely loses the plot.

Interact with the podcast via Instagram or Bluesky and send us your Pick 3 lists.

Ep 4 : "Purchases (under £100)"28 mars 202500:45:44

Martin, Gareth and Andy discuss their top 3 purchases costing less than £100. Despite the simple format and instructions it becomes clear that one panellist is prepared to play fast and loose with the rules! Martin advocates for longevity, Gareth advocates for hygiene and Andy advocates for clemency.

Don't just sit and shout at your device, create your own list and join the debate.

Ep 3 : "Cities"21 mars 202500:51:23

The Pick 3 panel reconvene to discuss their top 3 city choices. What becomes evident is that Martin doesn't really like cities, Gareth likes to go East and Andy likes people! Plenty of chat, some sparky debate and a further insight into three different characters.

Don't take our word for it, try listing your own top 3 and let us know where you agree/disagree with the panel.

EP 2: "Toys"14 mars 202500:43:47

This week the Pick 3 Panel debate their Top 3 childhood toys and it is certainly revealing, could even be regarded as therapy. It certainly demonstrated the difference a few years make to how we amused ourselves during our formative years. So join Martin, Gareth & Andy as they revisit their childhoods.

You can agree or disagree with our choices but hopefully you will then create your own list and you can then choose to share it with us at the Pick 3 Show, the best lists will make it onto the air in a future episode.

Ep 1 : "Movies"06 mars 202500:51:02

Welcome to the first ever episode of the  Pick 3 Show where we discuss, debate and frequently deride our panellists' top three choices from the week's chosen category. The three hosts, with three decades of separation, not unsurprisingly approach the debates from different perspectives.

So join Martin, Gareth and Andy as they argue and debate their top 3 movies of all time.Everybody will have their own opinions and we look forward to listener feedback either agreeing or disagreeing with our choices. If you think this is easy then submit your own lists for our scrutiny.
