03: Round Up of the Year03 Jan 202401:01:57
2023 has been an interesting year, the first since that initial lockdown which has felt something like 'normal'. Much of our time has been taken up with training organisations, but we've also been able to explore some different parts of the country, get involved with various projects locally and further afield and develop our plans for the direction of Original Outdoors.

This episode is a brief overview of some of the moments which took place in 2023, delivered in our usual, slightly rambling fashion.

A big thank you to each and every one of you for your support, this is just the beginning of something much bigger and more exciting than we have ever done before.

Happy New Year, let's make it a great one.

02: The Lure of the Mountain Cafe22 Nov 202300:36:42
Recently the outdoor community around Snowdonia was saddened to hear that Siabod cafe is closing....in it's current location. This eatery / art gallery / meeting place has been a big part of many people's lives, bookending days or weekends which will never be forgotten, or cementing a lifelong love of the Snowdonia mountains. Our experiences at local mountain cafes have always been positive, if sometimes a little bit interesting, and we take this opportunity to look a bit more closely at what it is about these local hubs which makes them so unique, special and important.

If you have any stories to share about your experiences, let us know by contacting us on social media, discord or by email (we might share some of these on social media so please specify if you'd rather we didn't!)

01: The Welsh Indiana Jones30 Oct 202300:39:31

Ioan Lord, who has recently been tagged as the Welsh Indiana Jones, is the focus of this episode of the Original Outdoors Podcast. As a historian, writer, and avid explorer of abandoned mines, Ioan has found artefacts dating back thousands of years and uncovered more of the history surrounding the mines of mid-Wales. We discuss the mining industry, communities and what it takes to be like Ioan exploring what has been left behind in the hills and mountains of Wales. Richard Prideaux and Amy Green of Original Outdoors draw on some of their experiences of caves, mines and looking for signs of humans in the more remote corners of Wales.
