THE SON OF SEVEN MOTHERS28 Nov 202400:46:12
THE SON OF SEVEN MOTHERS
May 3

A man shares his story of growing up in a late 20th-century American cult—and how he escaped—in this gripping autobiography.

As the adopted son of two cult leaders, Benjamin Risha was raised to someday assume a place of leadership in the Alamo Christian Foundation, with the Bible, and his parents’ interpretations of it, as his guide. He believed the prophecies of his adoptive mother and father, Tony and Susan Alamo, including them being the two prophets foretold in the Book of Revelations who precede the second coming of Jesus Christ, them rising from the dead after they died, and such dire warnings as the ground opening up to swallow non-believers into hell. And he was sure that Susan Alamo could raise the dead as promised.

However, when none of it happened, and the foundation slid from bucolic communal lifestyle to insufferable criminality that included absolute obedience to the Alamos, and polygamous marriages with girls as young as eight years old, Benjamin knew he had to escape. If he were caught trying to escape, he would be severely beaten, forced to go without food and water for his sins, and shamed in the community. So, he embarked on a journey to locate his birth parents, discover the truth about a world he knew nothing about . . . and find himself.

In The Son of Seven Mothers, Benjamin Risha takes readers on a harrowing journey that few in the United States can imagine. And eventually he must choose between the life he knows and was “chosen” to lead, and his freedom.

Joe Kisner - Minnesota Missing
April 10

Friday, April 2, 1976, was an unseasonably mild day in Wolf Lake, Minnesota, with the temperature topping out at close to 60 degrees. For Bernard Rusness and his common-law wife, Peggy, the sunny day was a welcome change from the bitter winter temperatures that had enveloped the area for the past few months. After finishing work for the day, the couple went to the grocery store and then headed home in time to meet their 8-year-old son, Brian, when he arrived home from school.

Later that afternoon, Bernard decided to take advantage of the warm weather and started installing a new sound system in his truck. Neighbors recalled seeing the 48-year-old hard at work in his driveway, but the project took longer than he anticipated. Realizing he wasn’t going to finish before the sun went down, Bernard decided to call it a night and went inside. He left the hood of his vehicle up and his tool shed door open, intending to complete his work in the morning. He would never get the chance.

Joe Duncan - The Real Facts About Christopher Dorner, The Cop-Killer Cop24 Nov 202400:50:26
Feb 8, 2023

Joe Duncan joins Ed Opperman to talk about real crime, and his research into it.

From Crime Museum

On February 3, 2013 a former LAPD officer, named Christopher Dorner, attacked and killed Monica Quan and her fiancé Keith Lawrence. This incident sparked a nine day manhunt for Dorner ending in suicide.

Christopher Dorner was born June 4, 1979 in New York. He spent his childhood living in Los Angeles, transferring between multiple schools in the area. After graduating from Southern Utah University in 2001 Dorner joined the Navy reserve. On February 1, 2013, 2 days before he committed multiple homicides, he was honorably discharged from the Navy as a Lieutenant.

While Christopher Dorner was in the Navy reserve he joined the Los Angeles Police Department in 2005 and completed his training in 2006. A year later in 2007 Dorner filed a report a Complaint against his training officer Teresa Evans for using excessive force against a mentally ill man whom they arrested. Dorner claimed that Evans kicked the person that they arrested in the face while he was on the ground in handcuffs. His claims could not be substantiated and so were dismissed. Dorner was fired from the LAPD in 2008. He appealed his case multiple times, but each court affirmed the decision of the LAPD. Dorner claimed that racist colleagues had worked to discredit him and end his career. His final appeal was denied in late 2011.

But there's more to this story than the above quote would indicate. Joe Duncan has looked into the case, and he's got information the media missed.

Richard Kerr Sex Trafficked by Roy Cohn16 Oct 202400:50:25
Richard Kerr joins Ed Opperman to talk about Roy Cohn. A name which is vaguely familiar to those outside the political bubble, yet central to politics over six decades, Cohn cut his teeth on the McCarthy trials of the late 50s all the way to the dawning of the age of Trump. A political machinator, he was simultaneously viewed as a genius strategist and a villainous shadow depending on where you stood in the spectrum. And if you stood in his way...

A ruthless and cunning adversary, Cohn had a complicated private life. Being gay in America in the mid twentieth century was not an easy life; so much so his desire to exterminate the presence of gay or lesbian members of parties and staff by any and all means. He was possibly driven by his own self-hate.

In a fascinating insight into politics, the mob and the mentoring of a would-be Tyrant, Cohn is a fascinating study in Machiavellian cruelty and scheming. A man with plenty to hide, but plenty to hide it behind.

Raw Deal: The Untold Story of NYPD's 'Cannibal Cop'24 Nov 202401:00:02
"When, if ever, does a thought cross the line and become a crime?"

Raw Deal is the untold story of former New York City police officer Gil Valle, who in 2012 became known throughout the world as "The Cannibal Cop." It is the controversial saga of a man who was imprisoned for "thought crimes", and a look into a world of dark sexuality and violence that most listeners don't know exists, except maybe in their nightmares.

After Valle's arrest, media coverage exploded in a frenzy of lurid tabloid headlines and stories about the cop charged with planning to kidnap, torture, rape...and eat...women, including his own wife. But here's the fascinating part: There was no such plan in reality. Valle was simply engaging in his own private fantasies, albeit fantasies that are abhorrent and grotesque, and for that he was thrown into prison. Valle faced life in prison for his charges, and served 21 months for nothing more than having online chats about his fantasies. He was finally exonerated of all charges.

Raw Deal raises the question: When does thought become a crime? It will challenge the listener's beliefs about free speech, the right to privacy, and government's role in watching over us.

Warning: This audiobook contains graphic fantasy material of a sexual and violent nature. It is intended for mature audiences.

Bart Sibrel - MOON MAN - the true story of a film maker on the CIA hitlist
Jun 8, 2022

In 1969 man took his first steps on the Moon. Or did he? For the past forty years, Bart Sibrel has championed the theory that the Moon landingswere faked; that a conspiracy which involved the military industrial complex, The White House and other powerful arms of Government employed technicians and ‘experts’ to present a falsification of the event, involving pre-filmed footage and elaborate cover stories.

Sibrel has come under fire for his statements, and many podcast and radio interviewers shy away from him and his material not because of a lack of substantiating evidence supporting them, but because of the increase in both for and against emails it generates, some of which are not only illiterate but quite threatening.

In a democratic free speech format, words are nothing to be scared of, but now Sibrel says he has been put on a CIA hitlist for his efforts; which begs the question – if what he claims is bunkum, then why are powerful entities trying to shut him up?

Matthew Richer - Investigation of the Death Of Kurt Cobain

Matthew Richer, coauthor of the book ' Kurt Cobain Murder or Suicide, You Decide'

Kurt Cobain was an icon who was found dead under suspicious circumstances.

Matthew Richer has explored all the alternative scenarios to the office story, and has updated his book. He tells Ed Opperman about new developments in the case which more or less rule out the official suicide verdict

Just days before Kurt Cobain's body was discovered on April 8, 1994, Courtney Love hired private investigator Tom Grant to locate him. In The Mysterious Death of Kurt Cobain Tom Grant takes readers behind the scenes of the investigation. Here, you can read a day by day account of Grant's investigation and learn about the evidence for murder regarding Kurt Cobain's death. There are many new details contained in The Mysterious Death of Kurt Cobain, including new transcripts of recorded telephone conversations with Courtney Love and others, as well as an updated list of "persons of interest" in the crime. In this book, you will get a clear picture of 1) Why Kurt Cobain was killed and 2) Who is responsible for his death. The book also contains a compelling account of Tom Grant's struggles to blow the whistle on the botched investigation into Cobain's death. Did Kurt Cobain really commit suicide? Or was he murdered? You won’t be able to honestly answer that question until you read The Mysterious Death of Kurt Cobain.

Ludicrous - The Unvarnished Story of Tesla Motors
September 2

Tesla is the most exciting car company in a generation . . . but can it live up to the hype?

Tesla Motors and CEO Elon Musk have become household names, shaking up the staid auto industry by creating a set of innovative electric vehicles that have wowed the marketplace and defied conventional wisdom. The company's market valuation now rivals that of long-established automakers, and, to many industry observers, Tesla is defining the future of the industry.

But behind the hype, Tesla has some serious deficiencies that raise questions about its sky-high valuation, and even its ultimate survival.

Tesla's commitment to innovation has led it to reject the careful, zero-defects approach of other car manufacturers, even as it struggles to mass-produce cars reliably, and with minimal defects. While most car manufacturers struggle with the razor-thin margins of mid-priced sedans, Tesla's strategy requires that the Model 3 finally bring it to profitability, even as the high-priced Roadster and Model S both lost money. And Tesla's approach of continually focusing on the future, even as commitments and deadlines are repeatedly missed, may ultimately test the patience of all but its most devoted fans.

In Ludicrous, journalist and auto industry analyst Edward Niedermeyer lays bare the disconnect between the popular perception of Tesla and the day-to-day realities of the company—and the cars it produces. Blending original reporting and never-before-published insider accounts with savvy industry analysis, Niedermeyer tells the story of Tesla as it's never been told before—with clear eyes, objectivity and insight.

UPDATED: New chapters from Katie

In 1992, nine-year-old Katie Beers was kidnapped by a family friend and locked in an underground box for 17 days. Katie has now come forward to tell the story that created a national media storm as reporters uncovered the truth about her pre-kidnapping life of neglect and sexual abuse and the details of her rescue. She shares how this experience and the recent death of her kidnapper, John Esposito, has affected her life. Despite the horrible reality of Katie's days of being chained in darkness, the kidnapping was, in fact, the climactic end of a tragic childhood and the beginning of a new life.
Katie breaks her silence and reveals her inspiring healing process to the journalist who covered the story of the disappearance more than twenty years ago. Buried Memories is the only source that includes the complete details of her traumatic childhood, transcriptions of recordings from Esposito, a first-hand account of how Katie felt after Esposito's death in 2013, and Katie's hopeful view of the future as she looks back into her dark past.

Flipside: A Tourist's Guide on How to Navigate the Afterlife09 Oct 202400:59:29
What happens after we die? Author and award winning filmmaker Richard Martini explores startling new evidence for life after death, via the "life between lives," where we reportedly return to find our loved ones, soul mates and spiritual teachers. Based on the evidence of thousands of people who claim that under deep hypnosis, they saw and experienced the same basic things about the Afterlife, the book interviews hypnotherapists around the world trained in the method pioneered by Dr. Michael Newton, as well as examining actual between life sessions. The author agrees to go on the same journey himself, with startling and candid results, learning we are fully conscious between our various incarnations, and return to connect with loved ones and spiritual soul mates, and together choose how and when and with whom we'll reincarnate. The author examines how "Karmic law" is trumped by "Free will," with souls choosing difficult lives in order to learn from their spiritually; no matter how difficult, strange or complex a life choice appears to be, it was made in advance, consciously, with the help of loved ones, soul mates and wise elders. Extensively researched, breathtaking in scope, "Flipside" takes the reader into new territory, boldly going where no author has gone before to tie up the various disciplines of past life regression. near death experiences, and between life exploration. In the words of author Gary Schwartz, Phd, once you've read "Flipside" "you'll never see the world in the same way again." Praise for “FlipSide”"Richard has written a terrific book. Insightful, funny, provocative and deep; I highly recommend it!" Robert Thurman ("Why the Dalai Lama Matters")“Inspiring, well written and entertaining. The kind of book where once you have read it, you will no longer be able to see the world in the same way again.”Gary E. Jan 2, 2021

I invited noted podcast guest and Elon Musk researcher on the show to discuss the mysterious life of Elon Musk. During the discussion infamous Georgia attorney Lin Wood came up due to his failed defamation lawsuit against Musk.

We could never have predicted that as this interview was being taped Mr wood's former law partners and employers were suing him. In the ATTACHED court complaint below you can read that Wood's partners point to tape recordings where Wood admits to unprovoked physical attacks and declares himself to be the return of Jesus Christ.

In our wildest imaginations we could never have predicted Wood, a pro trump lawyer, often retweeted by Trump, who has filed several of the pro Trump voter fraud lawsuits would be spending his Jan 1st 2021 morning on Twitter calling for the arrests and executions of Mitch McConnell
