This wasn't entertainment -it was survival .Music was how Manchester breathed

This is the story with music of our Family Independent Record Shop which opened in the early 70s It was called "The Disc "

I worked in our shop 6 days a week , at night I was a DJ at the Clubs, Disco Bars. of Manchester.

Tonight I'm Travelling deep into the underground of British Soul - Voices that never chased the charts ,but found their place in the clubs the basements and on the dance floors

These records were overlooked ,forgotten sometimes ignored -but they had soul
