Summary of the Podcast
Introduction to ScoreApp
Maxwell Nee introduces ScoreApp, a marketing funnel software that helps service businesses and entrepreneurs build personalised quizzes to generate leads.
ScoreApp has about 6,000 clients and offers plans ranging from £29 to £120 per month.
How ScoreApp Works

The reports provide insights tailored to the user's responses.

This allows businesses to build a larger pool of qualified leads to follow up with.

ScoreApp has developed an AI wizard that can quickly generate quiz questions and copy, reducing the time to set up a new quiz from hours to just a few minutes.
Ideal ScoreApp Clients
ScoreApp's primary clients are coaches, consultants, service providers, and other entrepreneurs selling digital products or services.
The software is versatile and can be used for lead generation, client assessments, and more.
ScoreApp's Growth Plans
ScoreApp has seen strong growth in the UK market over the past 4 years and is now looking to expand to the US and Asia Pacific regions to reach a much larger potential client base.
Recap and Next Steps
The hosts and guests summarise the key benefits of ScoreApp and encourage listeners to check out the free book offer at scoreapp.com/book to learn more about the software and how it can be applied.

| #342 Building Wealth and Pensions with Kevin Whelan Founder at Wealthbuilders | 30 Sep 2022 | 00:42:09 | |
Kevin Whelan runs a business called Wealth Builders. Today he shares ways to create recurring income inside and outside any business. We're heading towards troubled times, so advice from one of the leading experts is very timely. Tune into this week's episode of The Next 100 Days and learn from Kevin Whelan.
Kevin Whelan's Story
Sadly, Kevin Whelan's father died at the young age of 46. Aged 25, Kevin was an economist. He didn't much care for the job. Kevin realised that his father's agency business, finding people to work on North Sea rigs, meant that he had a streak of entrepreneurialism like his father. Just like our Kevin, Kevin Whelan was also from Northumberland AND a Newcastle United fan.
When his father died, the family went backwards. At 28, he decided he would not trade his time for money ever again. It was his realisation moment.
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/09/Kevin-Whelan-Realisation.mp4
[SHOCKER] 95% of the population do not become financially independent
It's worse for business owners. Of the 5 million businesses in the UK, 0.1% will sell for £1m or more. Kevin Whelan became financially independent himself at age 45.

What YOU Need to Understand
To access the Wealth Builders community, so to speak you need certain attributes and certain realisations, especially about your pension.

What can you do?
pay lower fees
to invest in risk mitigation
understand you cannot ADD VALUE to the stock market, so learn to build assets where you can add value.

| #341 Utilising an Assessment Quiz with Steve Auchettl | 23 Sep 2022 | 00:47:28 | |
Get a highly personalised assessment quiz from Steve Auchettl (pronounced O-Cat-ul) to increase sales. Based in Brighton, SMA Digital has racked up over 700 clients with their assessment quizzes. One business mentor client said it had brought her over £100k in revenue. Another client said it was "an easy non-sales start to your sales funnel". Even Kevin Appleby has chosen to work with Steve for a GrowCFO project. Listen to this week's podcast and discover why these assessments can play a big part in your marketing.
What is an Assessment Quiz?
Steve's company is SMA Digital. They'll make you a quiz, built using quiz software. SMA are a mix of a software company and a marketing company. It's something you can put out there as a no-sales prospect engagement technique.
Here's Kevin's reason for using Steve's services:
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/09/Kevin-Appleby-GrowCFO-Use-Case-of-Assessment-Quiz.mp4
If you want a more sophisticated quiz (like the one Kevin is seeking) Steve sits down with you to figure out your main goals. This will help him shape the type of quiz that'll work well for you. After all, they've done this for loads of clients.
Steve uses a lot of psychology around how they ask questions. Especially in marketing quizzes. Then, they'll work on what will be sent at the end of the quiz.
It's an Investment in Time
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/09/Steve-Auchettl-Investment-in-Time.mp4
Graham said "It sounds like a lead generation dream. Somebody self qualifies and is happy to do so."
It turns out that this is where SMA Digital came from. Lead Generation. He found that the cost of leas were going up and up.
Are they a Lead Generation Dream?
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/09/Steve-Auchettl-Lead-Generation-Dream.mp4
The lead magnet sent as a result of the quiz, is completely personalised. That's the key behind trust building. It's like you really understand me.
The quiz enables:
people to identify where they are at;
it is curiosity-provoking, meaning they'll want to find out more about you;
people to find out instantly.
How is SMA Digital Different?
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/09/Steve-Auchettl-How-are-SMA-Digital-Different-1.mp4
Very often, Steve recommends that you can use existing media that you are using to direct people towards your quiz. Steve claims that using a quiz on social media like Facebook, will reduce costs and increase conversions. A double win.
Pop up a QR code for your quiz. Your chance to take the next step with you. It's non salesy. The quiz allows people to self-identify their own issues.
Assessment Quiz Questions
So, how does Steve put together the quiz questions?

| #340 Neuroscience and Business with Jan Sky of Brain Potential | 16 Sep 2022 | 00:47:54 | |
Jan Sky has 30 years of experience in business. Recently, Jan developed an interest in neuroscience. This means, what's going on upstairs in the brain? God help, Kevin and Graham! She hails from Queensland Australia and the courses the provides are mostly online. Jan is an experienced Clinical Hypnotherapist, Neuropsychotherapist and Coach.
If you are dealing with anxiety, stress, relationships, and workplace disharmony then Jan is certainly able to help you. Two years ago, she graduated from University in Applied Neuroscience. She can easily work through behaviour changes to make positive changes in your business. With coaching and neuroscience, your understanding and ability to move forward will be enhanced.
What is Neuroscience?
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/09/Jan-Sky-What-is-Neuroscience.mp4
A psychotherapist is a person that studies different subjects relating to behaviour. They then apply their knowledge in a clinical situation. Adding 'near' to the front, just means Jan has an understanding of what's going on in the brain.
Whilst Jan still performs therapy, she has rather stepped outside of that now by offering a Leadership Programme.
Jan helps leaders understand thrown brain and its potential. In doing so, they'll understand their team better. The outcome of which, is a lot more collaboration and increased productivity.
How Jan Helps Identify Skills Gaps
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/09/Jan-Sky-Identifying-Skills-Gaps.mp4
Once the skills gaps are identified in companies or organisations, the solution tends to be to run her main programme. That runs over 8 weeks. One week of group online learning. People reconvene fortnightly. In between, specialised coaches work one on one with the leader.
Are you ignoring your team?
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/09/Jan-Sky-ignoring-your-team.mp4
Often people don't recognise they are getting in the way of peak performance. If the team is not performing, then take a look at the leader.
If so much is on autopilot, how do you change behaviours?
Kevin asked a great question.
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/09/Jan-Sky-Leaders-must-change.mp4
Prior to starting the programme, Jan meets the managers.

| #339 Latest Deals with Chief Bargain Hunter, Tom Church | 09 Sep 2022 | 00:56:37 | |
Tom Church founded Latest Deals as a community to sniff out the best deals in the UK. Two friends and Tom started the business when they couldn't find a money-off coupon to offset the price of a Brazilian steak dinner. That must have been devastating for them! But, Tom considered this a real opportunity to make a difference. Most of the competing deals sites were focused on men, Latest Deals turned to women.
The Original Story
Graham asked Tom what the business is about and what it does for people.
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/Tom-Church-Origin-Story.mp4
Tom's community has grown to 2.5 million members. Demographically, their members are 21 to 65+, mostly female.
Britain's Sexiest Man Targets Females Shocker!
Tom took the ribbing in good part. They did target females for differentiation. Tom tricked Google into them believing he's Britain's Sexiest Man (everyone in the know, knows that it's Kevin really).
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/Tom-Church-Targeting-Females.mp4
More about Latestdeals.co.uk
It's just like a shop, but when you look closely one thing is at Amazon, another is at Argos and another at eBay, etc. Latest Deals makes money by affiliate marketing. That means if someone clicks on the All-New Fire 7 Tablet from Amazon and buys it, Tom's firm will make money.
What is allowed on the site has to be products at the best prices on the market.
"It's a community site for passionate bargain hunters."
With Energy Costs Going Through The Roof, Does Tom Expect a Huge Increase in Members?
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/Tom-Church-Energy-Costs-and-Membership.mp4
Tom and his two partners all agreed to set aside income payments for 6 months when they started the venture. After 3 months they were just profitable. Now they employ 30+ staff.
So what was his secret sauce?
Partnering
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/Tom-Church-Partnering.mp4
Tom mentioned Google Shopping. I think they are using the URL froogle.com, but click on this image and it'll take you there if you haven't checked the site out yet.
Kevin asked the question - how do you know it's the best deal or a good deal? They check. On Amazon, Google etc. They also rely on their community for moderation. Members can get points for pointing out chinks in these deals (like added postage).
Is the future all about the App?
One of the challenges for Latest Deals has been distribution channels.

| #338 Imposter Syndrome with Clare Josa | 02 Sep 2022 | 00:42:19 | |
Imposter syndrome expert Clare Josa joins the podcast this week. The first thing to mention about Clare is how you pronounce her surname. Yosa, Not Josa. Now we've got that bit right, we need to understand what it is.
If you want a research-backed assessment of your IMPOSTER SYNDROME, then Clare has made available a personalised action plan, which will take less than 5 minutes. Go here:
Here's the link for the scorecard I mentioned. I think your audience might find it really useful. It gives them a research-backed assessment of their Imposter Syndrome risk level and a personalised action plan, all in under five minutes:
https://www.clarejosa.com/next100days/
What is it?
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/Clare-Josa-What-is-Imposter-Syndrome.mp4
Imposter syndrome is loosely defined as doubting your abilities and feeling like a fraud. It disproportionately affects high-achieving people, who find it difficult to accept their accomplishments.
An example in a Board Meeting
62% of corporate employees struggle with it.
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/Clare-Josa-Example-of-Imposter-Syndrome-in-a-Board-Room.mp4
Kevin said he can back up Clare's research. In his work with GrowCFO, they suffer from a lack of confidence and I.S. Clare says there are trigger points. Like being promoted into a C-Suite position. Either people cope or they step back.
This syndrome has gotten worse due to social media (add it to the long list...)
Social Media Impact
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/Clare-Josa-Social-Media-Impact.mp4
The problem with social media is what you see is the best bits of the best bits of everyone else! The algorithm facilitates the impact IS can have.
So, don't compare yourself with a refined Kevin Appleby video. You'll never reach his dizzyingly high standards. :)
High Achievers - Watch Out!
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/Clare-Josa-High-Achievers.mp4
What should you do to cope with Imposter Syndrome?
Clare mentioned bridging the gap strategies. Compensating for IS really. THAT doesn't work.
Examples,
I'm going to toughen up,
Push on through,
Pretend it's okay,
I'm going to put on a persona.
That can work short-term but at a huge personal cost. In this clip, Clare explains what you should do.
Start by PRESSING PAUSE.
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/Clare-Josa-How-to-Address-Imposter-Syndrome.mp4
A big trigger point is going from managing to leading. Now it's about strategy and being visible. You set the direction, rather than collaborating with others. This is a big identity and skillset shift. Most people don't get trained.
Clare teaches by working on the body.
It's not talking therapy. The last thing you want is the go through all the bad stuff that got them to their place of strife.
Connect with what happens to the body before they set sabotage. The solution is all about tapping the meridian points on the body.

| #337 Podcasting with Tom Schwab of Interview Valet | 26 Aug 2022 | 00:48:54 | |
Tom Schwab is a podcasting expert. He runs Interview Valet to help people get on podcasts. His knowledge of podcasts is extensive, as we find out in this podcast. Tom resides in Michigan, United States.
You are only 100 days away from being a guest on a podcast. Probably a lot sooner. But, with Tom's help, he'll fit you into the podcasts that will enhance your profile and business. Just like we're doing for his services in today's episode!
An early recommendation to Kevin Appleby and I is an AI recording solution called fireflies.ai. This records and transcribes your podcast so the text can be added to the show notes page. Coming soon to The Next 100 Days Podcast.
How Typical of Podcasts are The Next 100 Days?
Well, it seems we are fairly rare. Tom calls Kevin and I 'original gangsters'! Or is it really "old gits"
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/Tom-Schwab-How-Typical-are-We.mp4
Tom's background is inbound marketing. So, in 2014, he started looking at podcasting. Back then, one of the tricks they used was guest blogging. You'd do this to 'get your name out there'. Tom recognised that you can use podcast interviews LIKE guest blogs. These podcasts worked so great, Tom thought it was just a fluke!
Talk to the Right Audience
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/Tom-Schwab-Right-Audience.mp4
Kevin made the point that every week we get downloads from our very early episodes. Tom builds on this and explains that some of his clients use podcast guesting just for the SEO value. Tom points out that the first person who brought that to his attention is:

If you get a guest from Interview Valet, the guest is committed to promoting the show. But, Interview Valet does not pay podcast hosts. His business model is more like a PR agency. Getting people exposure through podcasting.
Don't do MORE interviews, but do MORE with the interviews. Do no more than one interview a week.

| #336 Net Zero Investing with James Parritt from VitParr | 19 Aug 2022 | 00:50:50 | |
If you are an investor, seeking great returns and low risk, then consider net zero investing. Our guest on this podcast is James Parritt, who is soon launching a net zero investment fund. Net Zero is a topic that comes up as often as inflation and growth. Will we achieve the target set for net zero?
Why is net zero carbon important?
There is a lot of talk about sustainability and net zero emissions lately. But what does this mean for the future of our planet? And why is it so important that we achieve net zero emissions by 2050? In this episode, we will discuss the importance of achieving net zero emissions and how a massive investment in net zero technology can help create a sustainable future for our planet.
The world is facing an existential crisis. Climate change is real and it is happening right now. We are already seeing the effects of climate change with more extreme weather events, rising sea levels, and dwindling resources. If we do not take action to reduce our emissions and achieve net zero emissions by 2050, the consequences will be catastrophic.
Achieving net zero emissions by 2050 is essential for a sustainable future. We need to invest in renewable energy, green infrastructure, and clean technology. This will create jobs, grow the economy, and reduce our reliance on fossil fuels. It is a win-win for the environment and the economy.
The time to act is now. We need to make the switch to clean energy and green infrastructure. We need to do our part to reduce our emissions and create a sustainable future for our planet. Net zero emissions by 2050 is essential for a sustainable future.
The strategy commits the UK to slash emissions of the greenhouse gases that are warming the planet to reach 'net zero' emissions by 2050.
What does net zero mean?
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/James-Parritt-What-is-Net-Zero.mp4
James explained that there are big carbon capture projects happening all over the UK. Such as Project Jackdaw, operated by Shell. They'll use pipes to capture the gas they burn. Once captured they hope to transform the gas into molecules and create hydrocarbons.
Isn't Net Zero Causing People to Worry?
James mentioned Al Gore - the movie was called An Inconvenient Truth.
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/James-Parritt-Net-Zero-Worry.mp4
Kevin recalled the campaign in 1973 called "Plant a Tree in 73".
We have an exclusive photo featuring Kevin doing his bit. Isn't that Kevin furthest on the right?

How Much Will The World Need to Spend to Get to Net Zero in 2050?
Here's what came up in Google - Source McKinsey:
When it comes to cutting emissions, it will cost an awful lot to make a little. The global effort to hit net zero by 2050 will cost $275 trillion in spending on physical assets, ranging from wind farms to electric cars and better-built houses, according to global consultancy McKinsey. 25 Jan 2022
It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that that amount of money is going to create a huge net zero investing opportunity for investors. This is why James Parritt is set to launch a pure Net Zero Investment Fund later this year.

Discover more about the VITPARR Net Zero Investment Fund, where you can invest £10,000 in year one with a 100% guarantee. That means, if after a year, the fund value is below £10,000, VITPARR will refund it all back to you. James explained that this one is to prove themselves in the marketplace.
Expected returns in Year 1 is 10%. If you are happy with this return, you'll be offered the opportunity to invest £25,000 in Year 2 with a return of 15% and then £30,000 in year 3 with a 20% return.

| #335 – Generating Leads on YouTube with Simon Young | 12 Aug 2022 | 00:56:22 | |
YouTube Explained by Simon Young
Simon Young is one of the leading experts with YouTube in the UK. Rich Schefren, who some call the Guru's Guru when it comes to online business, is Simon's mate. He also has a website with a single-character domain name. You can find out more about Simon and his services at s.media.
Kevin said he'd 'dabbled' with YouTube
And that's the problem, Simon says.
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/Simon-Young-YouTube-Dabbled.mp4
YouTube - the hard part - Getting an Audience
Graham said we'd like to know more about using YouTube, but it's where do you start. Simon told us to start with the hard part. And that's your audience.
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/Simon-Young-Start-with-Your-Audience.mp4
So, if you only have 30 or 40 views, can you tell who it is that actually watched the video? Simon says, no. Google knows, of course. But the data is theirs to trade, and for a bunch of reasons, they're not about to provide you with that. Imagine, though how incentivised you'd be if you could profile those people and draw a straight line to a load more people like them.
Instead, if you can specify who the perfect audience is for your services, then Google/YouTube will send your communications to them.
How Do I Use YouTube?
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/Simon-Young-How-to-Use-YouTube.mp4
This process gets you to a place where you can weed out the people you don't want. Let's face it, you don't want to spend money on the wrong audience. So, in the first 30 seconds of your video, you want to repel as well as attract!
Simon advises you to test. Test and test again!
Mortgage Broker example
Simon explains the repel statement, then after the 30 seconds go into a case study based on your audience. So they feel part of the story. Take them on a journey and then you can make different videos for separate parts of the audience that viewed the video.
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/Simon-Young-Attract-and-Repel-in-The-First-30-Seconds.mp4
Google's AI learns from you as an advertiser telling them that you got a conversion. The cost per conversion will be high initially, but over time, with more tests, the cost per conversion will drop. It takes 3 months to learn. And the budget is instrumental too. Spending £500 per day, will get you success quicker than £5 per day.
Setting Conversions
Simon stresses that you salami slice the process of conversion up. Watch.
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/Simon-Young-Conversions-.mp4
There is lots more to digest from this podcast with Simon.

| #334 Being a Storyteller with Shannon Peel | 05 Aug 2022 | 01:00:20 | |
Shannon Peel is a storyteller. She lives in Vancouver, Canada. When we recorded this podcast, Shannon was sweltering in - believe it or not - 7 am sunshine. With a name like Peel, you'd think she was related to a famous London-based policeman. Sir Robert Peel. Chances are she was. And what a story that is. The thing about her name though, is she uses it, relentlessly.
Check out her website:
MarketAPeel - https://www.marketapeel.agency/digital-magazine-newsstand
She also has, BrandAPeel, UnPeeled, MemberAPeel, and LifeUnPeeled - you get the picture.
Anyway, let's get started...
So is Vancouver on the same latitude as Scotland? (Wrong again, Graham!)
Peel is both noun and a verb.
What Makes Shannon Who She is?
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/Shannon-Peel-Who-she-is.mp4
Have you got someone in your house who is always one Google search away from knowing more *than you) about the thing you're watching?
For Shannon, it is professional curiosity. Shannon says we all have lots of stories. But she knows when people are getting it entirely wrong. Like, with pitches. Founders eager to get their hands on investor money will gush out everything.
Here's how Shannon can help. Ask yourself what is it you are really trying to say.
Start with WHO IS YOUR AUDIENCE and what they are interested in.
THEN craft the story.
It can be a personal brand story or a business brand story.
Is it Easy for Tech People to OVERCOME Themselves be storytellers?

On LinkedIn, Shannon helps people tell their stories better. This attracts the right audience and repels those who are uninterested. Kevin had made the comment that he gets frustrated by LinkedIn Bombers, who carpet bomb people without a thought for relationship.

| #333 Coaching Graduates to Win Their First Job with Chris Davies | 29 Jul 2022 | 01:01:05 | |
Are you a parent of a graduate who is searching for a job? If that search is proving less than fruitful then this week's Next 100 Days podcast guest Chris Davies has something just for you. Chris Davies runs the UK's leading graduate coaching company based in Westminster, London. It's called Graduate Coach. To date, they've helped over 5,000 students land graduate level jobs with expert coaching. If you are here on this page now, and have recent graduates still searching for the job they really want, pay attention!
Kevin Appleby was especially welcoming to Chris, as he hails from North Shields. In other words, a Geordie, Newcastle United supporter like himself. What can you do? Well, we barely touched this as the topic itself was so very engaging.

Firstly, a big mistake in his Graduate Coaching business!
Chris admits that it took him some two years for it to dawn on him that he was targeting the wrong audience! It's all about parents, not students!
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/Chris-Davies-Its-The-Parents.mp4
Chris noted that 93% of every student attending his last throw of the dice exhibition was accompanied by a parent. What a revelation! No longer would Chris focus his primary approach at students, but at parents. Follow the money, they say. You could say, follow the decision-making.
A Graduate never realises why they'll never get a job. They've always got a reason.
Then Chris oriented his business toward parents. 8 years he has 150 five star reviews, he's written 2 books and guarantee what we do.
70% of Introductions Come From Recommendations
Chris told us that 30% of his business comes from a SEO powered website!
But, parents will stop at nothing to help their kids.

The free course can help you get started on the journey, but is no substitute for hands on mentoring from Chris himself.

Unfortunate Facts
46% of UK Graduates Never Get a Graduate Job
93% of International Graduates Never Get a Graduate Job in the UK
Average Time is 18 Months Before Graduates Who Do Get a Job, Start their First Graduate Job
Tony Blair increased the numbers of people going to university. What has not gone up, is the number of graduate jobs. Competition for the few jobs available is greater than it has ever been. University career departments tell you very little about how to put yourself in the best position to win one of them.

Applicant Tracker System software compliant. What does that mean?
From Google: An applicant tracking system (ATS) is software that manages the recruiting and hiring process, including job postings and job applications. It organizes information about job seekers and makes it searchable. As its name implies, an ATS tracks candidates through the hiring process.

| #331 Kevin Appleby & Graham Arrowsmith – Affluent Business Strategy | 15 Jul 2022 | 01:03:54 | |
Affluent Business Strategy
Having an Affluent Business Strategy builds on previous podcasts on being a Renegade Millionaire. Kevin shared that he is about to run 2 strategy boot camps. The idea is to help a group of Chief Finance Officers with the business strategy process. He has evolved a 6 step methodology. Kevin made a connection with our recent podcasts about Renegade Millionaires. Then, he connected their behaviours to create an affluent business strategy.
6 Steps to Define and Deliver Your Strategy
How do you implement the principles laid out in Renegade Millionaire with business strategy?
The first section is called design. That's because it's all about working out WHAT you are going to do. At the end of the design section, you want a good idea of :
what you are going to stop doing
start doing
and, what you'll continue to do.
Kevin referenced previous scale at speed growth guest Felix Velarde. A lot of principles that Felix discussed are reflected in this process.
Who knows what a PESTLE Analysis is?
Kevin does. Graham reckoned he didn't to look cool (even though he aced his MBA and knew it backwards!)
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/Kevin-Appleby-PESTLE-Analysis.mp4
But, do you need such sophisticated analysis as a small trader? Maybe not.
Build
You decide what you'll stop, start and continue. But, you need a route map to get you to your destination. Kevin explains how...

| #330 Kevin Appleby & Graham Arrowsmith – Renegade Millionaire Part 2 | 08 Jul 2022 | 00:53:56 | |
How to Become a Renegade Millionaire
The book Renegade Millionaire contains 7 secrets that aspiring millionaires should follow. You know what they say? Mirror those that have done it. These 7 secrets describe the core beliefs and behaviours that people who aspire to become millionaires display. So sit back and listen to this summary podcast. In the meantime, it's probably best if you go out and buy the book. Here's a link: RENEGADE MILLIONAIRE
So let's start with the first secret...
SECRET #1 THE POWER OF ORGANISED EFFORT
Are you using strategies in the pursuit of principles? Or are you using tactics in search of a strategy. Secret number 1 is all about having governing principles. Then having strategies supported by tactics. In this clip, Graham explains how this secret relates to the current pre-crash challenge that many affluent people are facing.
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/Graham-Arrowsmith-Secret-1-Organised-Effort.mp4
So, Dan Kennedy says STOP! Think hard and go back to principle. When it comes to money, what is your principle? As Graham says, it might be - I word amend hard for this money so I want to keep and grow it! That then spills down into strategies. It might be hire a great financial adviser. Or, it might be you DIY your finances. The tactics are then all those things you'd do to serve the strategies that fulfil on the principle.
#2 MAKE MAXIMUM MONEY
Ask yourself the question, "Is this making money?". Graham said the 1% aren't given to wasting their time on social media. Time is an important non-repeatable asset.
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/Graham-Arrowsmith-Make-Maximum-Money.mp4
Kevin referenced the most recent John Lamerton podcast. He made the point about social media being transient.
Graham spoke about Dan Kennedy's stage speaking. Kennedy extracted maximum money from his speaking:

The value of a business rises with continuous or continuity income. Plus, increase the customer lifespan. These two strategies are about creating equity.
Current Bank vs Future Bank
This concept is about making deposits into your future bank. Here's an example:

#3 THE POWER OF BIG IDEAS
Most great businesses have one radical BIG IDEA. So, how do you find these ideas?
Violate industry norms
Appeal to malcontents
be a true leader and not just an alternative.
BE A FARMER NOT A PIRATE

#4 TAKE CONTROL OF YOUR TIME, YOUR BUSINESS, AND YOUR LIFE
Kevin recommends you are selective in the things you do. Be choosy about which objectives you pursue in the next 100 days.

| #329 Developing Apps for the Affluent with Patrice Archer | 01 Jul 2022 | 00:40:03 | |
Apps with Patrice Archer from Appy Ventures
Patrice Archer is CEO of Appy Ventures which helps organisations develop apps. He is a startup maestro. With 10+ years of experience in private equity financing and another 8 years building businesses, he is an impressive guest. Patrice specialises in UX, commercialisation and finding how you can benefit your market with an App. Kevin and Graham experienced first-hand how Patrice is a lateral thinker. He sees the opportunities other people miss.
Appy Ventures
Patrice didn't think too long about naming his company. He says it's like naming a child. Don't overthink it! So Appy Ventures was borne. The company serves businesses looking for web and mobile apps.
Kevin dryly said you could very easily put an H infront of Appy to make it Happy Ventures! It's how his mind works.
Find out more about Patrice's website - go to https://appyventures.com
Why Do People Need Apps?
With a deep understanding of something, the app can better serve a target audience. Here's what Patrice said:
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/Patrice-Archer-Why-Have-an-App.mp4
Meanwhile, Patrice loves to help people at any stage of their development. Yes, they may be putting together ideas for a fundraising round, as an early stage start-up, but by helping them now it helps them VALIDATE a concept.
How to validate a new idea?
Create wire frames representations with a little graphic design of your app. Get feedback.
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/Patrice-Archer-How-to-Validate-a-New-App.mp4
80:20 Rule
It's that rule again! Thinking about validation, if you ask 5 people what they think, without leading questions. All you want is their thoughts. With just 5 people, you get 80% of the feedback as you would from a 1,000 people.
So, put yourself out there. Patrice says it might be uncomfortable. The app idea is yours. You live and breathe it. Get the feedback, then iterate. Then go ask 5 more people. That'll give you a real solid understanding of what they think the app will do.
On top of that, Patrice says do something called a "Lean canvas". That phrase was new to Kevin and I - but not the explanation! FROM GOOGLE - What is a Lean Canvas? Lean Canvas is a 1-page business plan template created by Ash Maurya that helps you deconstruct your idea into its key assumptions. It is adapted from Alex Osterwalder's Business Model Canvas and optimized for Lean Startups. It replaces elaborate business plans with a single page business model.
What's covered on the 1-page Business Plan?
Problem you are trying to solve?
Solution?
The market?
Who are the users that are going to be using this?
Costs and revenues
What is your channel to market as well?
So, with the prototype, some research and this 1-pager, you need to ask the question - is this a business?
Apps for the Affluent Market
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/Patrice-Archer-Apps-for-Affluent-Clients.mp4
Patrice provided a drinks investment app example. Kevin referred to our podcast with Dominic Brennan who runs Noble Rot, a fine wine investment opportunity. We briefly discussed costs, and Patrice mentioned that the cost of a prototype is usually in the low thousands. After that there is a build or phase one. And that costs tens of thousands.
How NOT to Market and How To Market an App
Patrice recommends pre-selling to influencers.
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/Patrice-Archer-how-to-Market-an-App.mp4
When it comes to influencers, listen to our podcast episode 319 with Sedge Beswick.
Graham mentioned a colleague who works as a Marketing & Events Co-ordinator for the Friends of Silsden Town Hall.
Her name is Mehrunnisa and here's a link to her Instagram page (not that she needs more followers!!)
Patrice mentioned a client who has 170,000 well-engaged followers on Instagram to build a business off the back of ...
| #328 Kevin Appleby & Graham Arrowsmith – Renegade Millionaire | 24 Jun 2022 | 00:48:33 | |
Renegade Millionaire with Kevin Appleby & Graham Arrowsmith
What does it take to be a renegade millionaire? Kevin and Graham discuss some of the lessons from Dan Kennedy's book "Renegade Millionaire". The foreword for the book was written by a previous guest, Adam Witty. Check out Adam's podcast - episode 186.
There's no doubt that Dan Kennedy is a Renegade Millionaire. In his book Renegade Millionaire, he talks about the significance of the money pyramid and how to become a millionaire in record time. The money pyramid is all about creating value for others. When you are able to do this, you will be successful no matter what economy we are in.
Renegade Millionaires are always looking for ways to create value and they are always thinking outside the box. This is what sets them apart from the average person. If you want to be a Renegade Millionaire, you need to start thinking like one. You need to start looking for ways to create value for others. When you do this, you will be successful no matter what economy we are in. Renegade Millionaires are always looking for ways to create value and they are always thinking outside the box. This is what sets them apart from the average person. Renegade Millionaires know that it's not about making money, it's about creating value. When you focus on creating value, the money will come naturally.

| #326 Building Affordable Homes with Dave Cookson of Low Carbon Construction | 10 Jun 2022 | 00:56:26 | |
Low Carbon Construction - Building Affordable Homes in the UK
Low Carbon Construction is a revolutionary affordable home builder. They are focused on building affordable homes. But, right now, they are seeking investors. Dave makes the case in this podcast for investors to sit up and take notice of what Low Carbon Construction is doing.
Access to Investor Information - Low Carbon Construction
Tell us about Low Carbon Construction
They started life in 2010. Back then, LCC was working with Structural Insulated Panels, or SIPs. Low Carbon Construction was the first company to introduce SIPs into house building.
Recognising there was a huge affordable housing crisis, with 145,000 house shortage. So could their way of manufacturing houses, with SIPs etc help put a dent into the affordable housing problem?
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Dave-Cookson-The-idea.mp4
As a result of creating 'factories on site', Low Carbon Construction took time and cost, including carbon footprint out of the build cost of houses. Dave said the idea enhances existing knowledge, rather than being patentable in and of itself.
Each factory can produce 300 houses. And that's the minimum level that LCC will produce. So if a site demanded 900 affordable homes, they'd create 3 factories.
These SIPs can keep you warm!
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Dave-Cookson-SIP.mp4
And remember, all these clever panels are designed for the affordable sector. It's all about taking great technology and deploying it to affordable homes. An affordable house doesn't need to be built on the cheap.
Meanwhile, on the roof of these eco-friendly homes, Dave mentioned tiles. Not just any old tiles. But, tiles are coated with something that makes them like solar panels. An invention from Scandinavia. Always a good place to get innovation. Dave reckons the flow of electricity can serve the power needs of a small family. Now, that's a big reason to buy one of these homes!
Dave mentioned Section 106 - Planning obligations or Section 106 agreement (Town and Country Planning Act 1990) are sometimes attached to planning permission to make the development acceptable in planning terms or restrict what can be done with land following planning permission being granted.
Low Carbon Construction - The Investment Case
There are 3 reasons that an investor should take a good look at Low Carbon Construction.
Social - LCC will change the dynamics of house building so thousands of families can live better lives.
Environmental - the company is set up to be carbon neutral. The name suggests Low Carbon, but in reality, they are pretty close already to being neutral. Okay, they may need to plant a small forest but on the whole, that is excellent.
Profitable - they have low overheads. They have removed a lot of wet work. You can specify your home in advance. Your house bits go in a container, which is taken to the site.
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Dave-Cookson-Significant-Investment-Return.mp4
Are You Interested in Investing in Low Carbon Construction?
The minimum share acquisition is £15,000.
To invest, you have to be either a High Net Worth Individual or a Sophisticated Investor. These are defined terms and are governed by and are stated within the FCA Handbook
The Next 100 Days can introduce you to the investment platform. Just add your name and email here and we will provide the link you need.

The REAL Reason you should invest in LCC versus their Competition
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Dave-Cookson-Better-Than-the-Competition.mp4
Low Carbon Construction can take Section 106 off the hands of the big house builders. The housebuilders do not see LCC as a competitor. Affordable houses are a headache for big house builders. Soon LCC will sit down and agree on how they can work with them...
| #325 Kevin Appleby & Graham Arrowsmith – Doing Business with the Affluent | 27 May 2022 | 00:45:44 | |
Introducing the new Season: Doing Business with the Affluent
We have had lots of podcast guests whose main focus has been doing business with the affluent. Kevin and I see real value in having a focused season of podcasts looking at the affluent.
So, is at least one of your ideal audiences the affluent? If not, tune in to see what you are missing. If it is, pick up tips from others.
Here are a few affluent focused guests from previous episodes:
Episode 317 - Anna Cheniuntai - Construction 3D Printing.
Anna's looking for high net worth investors.
Episode 289 - Gio Marcus - Celebrity Copywriter.
Gio helps classy brands communicate to affluent audiences.
Episode 302 - Hilary Rowland - Executive Retreats.
Hilary attracts high-end executives who need a timely reset.
What is a High Net Worth Individual?
Kevin asked Graham to define what is a High Net Worth Individual.
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Kevin-Appleby-What-is-a-HNWI.mp4
Selling to the Affluent via a Company
In his day job, Kevin spends a lot of time selling mentoring programmes to finance directors and similar. Kevin pointed out that often it is the company that pays for the service. Not necessarily the individual. But, that individual commits company money. You are still selling to an individual who has similar characteristics to a HNWI.

| #324 How to Collaborate Using Partnerships with Dave Plunkett, The Collaboration Junkie | 20 May 2022 | 00:53:56 | |
How to Collaborate with Dave Plunkett
Dave Plunkett is the best person we know who can advise how to collaborate. After all, he is the Collaboration Junkie! Dave said it was pretty fitting that he was on the podcast as a result of a referral. That was from a previous guest, Stuart McDonagh - Episode 311.
Tell us about Collaboration Junkie
Dave helps brands use their credibility to create partnerships. The outcome of doing this helps them grow their business. Digging into his work, Dave unearths the real value of partnering. Moreover, there are certain things most people forget when it comes to partnering.
Once someone is signed as a partner, how do you help them do what you want them to do?
What service do you deliver to them, not just their clients?
What is it about the journey that got you to where you are now?
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Dave-Plunkett-Journey.mp4
Dave realised he was passionate about partnerships. He had lived and breathed partnerships and collaboration for years. You might be intrigued to learn, that Dave tested "Junkie" with a few people, and they confirmed that it was a good fit for his personality. So, we now have a pretty unique partnerships expert called the Collaboration Junkie!
Examples of What a Partnership is?
Kevin wanted Dave to explain what exactly a partnership is. Dave ends up this clip citing this very podcast. Two people are collaborating on a podcast that is greater than the sum of its parts. Well, he's not wrong.
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Dave-Plunkett-What-is-a-partnership.mp4
Dave went on to say, that sometimes by being busy, we get lazy. So, if something isn't obvious, the idea is not actioned.
Instead, Dave advises you to take time out to see where you and your business can add value. And, at the same time, who out there can add value to you.
What do you do?
Well, it's all about consultancy. Dave provides that consultancy around his DANCE methodology.
DISCOVERY - be crystal clear about why you want to partner. So, if you are partnering to produce leads, be sure you know who your market is, and who your ideal partner is.
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Dave-Plunkett-Discovery.mp4
We loved the fact that Dave has a REAL WHY.
That is the reason why that person wants to partner with you. In the following clip, Dave explains the real why.
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Dave-Plunkett-The-22Real-Why22.mp4

| #323 The People Part – a new book from Annie Hyman Pratt | 13 May 2022 | 00:56:13 | |
The People Part is Annie Hyman Pratt's first book. It took her two years to write. But what a wait. Recently released to massive fanfare, with some notable testimonials, Annie is set to reply impact business owners with this book.
Buy The People Part book from Hay House her publishers: BUY THE PEOPLE PART
Coffee Beans
Annie ran the family business selling Coffee Beans. Moreover, as she made such a success of it, her parents decided to cash in!
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Annie-Hyman-Pratt-Coffee-Bean-Business.mp4
Truthfully, Annie didn't want to sell The Coffee Bean business at the time. This left her heartbroken at that time. Would she ever love anything as much again? Hell yes! Just listen to her passion for The People Part. My guess is her parents knew this and factored it into the decision to sell.
In short, Annie loves helping entrepreneurs with the people part. You know, that part of the job that many think they are not very good at.
So, is The People Part a Recipe For Getting it Right?
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Annie-Hyman-Pratt-Recipe-for-success.mp4
We all know what the people part is, but we aren't good at it. Annie says that's because we are human. More than that, humans have a Jekyll and Hyde operating system.
Two sides to the Brain
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Annie-Hyman-Pratt-Threat-Detecting-Brain.mp4
Annie says we tend to think that all this people stuff is the kind of thing we learned in nursery school. After that, we don't spend time learning HOW to regulate our emotions. Maybe that's why so many people get triggered nowadays by the slightest thing.
People Are Spinning Around in Their Own Heads
And that reduces productivity.
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/Annie-Hyman-Pratt-People-Spinning-Around-.mp4
How do you stop the brain spinning, then?
We need to interrupt ourselves.

| #321 – Paul Avins – Scaling a Business | 29 Apr 2022 | 00:52:08 | |
Scaling a Business with Business Coach, Mentor, Investor and Speaker Paul Avins
When scaling a business, many turn to Paul Avins. Paul owns 4 businesses which he is scaling. He also works with 45 entrepreneurs of £1m businesses who are themselves scaling a business. So, Paul owns a coaching business, a digital marketing agency along with a team profiling business and now he has a film production business.
Run a Business Like an Investor
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Paul-Avins-Running-a-Business-Like-an-Investor.mp4
He encourages his clients to build sales systems, and build teams, so the business can scale and pay you like an investor. In other words, he wants you to build a 'grown-up' business. Not a lifestyle business. A business that has a clear market, strategy, a brand, customers and recurring income. Add the leadership within the business and at an agreed point the owners can sell the business.
It's NOT just about Scaling a Business
Paul makes the point that if you just focus on scale, but you haven't sorted the leadership piece, which means you haven't levelled up as a leader, or dealt with the mission and values, then it's very hard to attract the talent you'll need. If you fail to sort out these things in advance, once you bring in more customers, you'll find your business will get stuck.
Here's a construction example.
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Paul-Avins-Construction-Industry-Example.mp4
We found out that the construction 'found' Paul to help them negotiate their team challenge.
The 3 reasons Paul gets called in need Talent, Cash, Strategy.:
I've got to the scale-up ceiling (about £1m) and they need to ask the strategic question of WHAT ARE WE TRYING TO DO?
With a recent client who'd been following Paul for 11 years, he had 3 issues:- raising funds
- getting a part-time FD
- protecting IP
A Summary of Imperatives for Scaling a Business
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Paul-Avins-Scale-Up-Reasons-For-Help.mp4
Another piece of advice. Paul reckons almost everyone he has worked with has underestimated the amount of cash they need to scale. One of his clients in packaging has scaled from £6m to £24m in the last 2 years. The skill required to manage that sort of growth is huge. For example, one piece of machinery is £3m. The point Paul is making here is your job is to hold the vision. You need the team around you capable of managing those sorts of investments.
It's All About Talent, Cash and Strategy
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Paul-Avins-Talent-Cash-Strategy.mp4
Paul went on to share a very personal story. Tune in for the details. But, it helps you understand how important it is to beware of physical, emotional or financial breakdowns.
So, ask for the right support.

| #320 – Eli Hassell – Digital Marketing | 22 Apr 2022 | 00:53:18 | |
Digital Marketing with Eli Hassell
Digital marketing company Siteawe is based in north Manchester. It is run by Eli Hassell. He's our guest on this week's podcast. Early in the podcast, Eli credited Graham for being an inspiration to start his own podcast called The Aaron and Eli Podcast.
Eli Builds Communities
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Eli-Hassell-Creating-Communities.mp4
Eli says interact with posts every day. Firstly, it forms a bond with people. Secondly, it creates stronger communities.
Why Do You Benefit From More People Interacting With Your Posts?
Have you heard? It's all about creating cool communities!!!
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Eli-Hassell-Cool-Community.mp4
Some of Siteawe's clients just hand over their social media accounts for management. They want to step back. Clients want bigger and better. Other clients start from a blank sheet. For example, they have no connections on LinkedIn.
The objective is to create a cool community. People who interact with your posts and are showing interest in your field of activities. Eli stressed that you don't just want random people, but those who are in your target audience.
Know Your Who
You're a small business, so don't go gung-ho and target every breathing person. The trick is to be selective. Just target those people who you think might have an interest in your services. Eli asks clients questions to determine the right targeting plan.
Is your market Business to Business?
Are you targeting consumers?
How old are your clients typically?
Do they have a particular ethnicity?
What market do you have now?
And, what target market would you really like?
Another question asked is:
Are you aiming for sales?
Or, are you aiming for attention?
Kevin is a Well Known Personality
Just how well known is Kevin Appleby amongst the finance manager community?

| #319 Sedge Beswick – Influencer Marketing | 15 Apr 2022 | 00:50:28 | |
Influencer Marketing with Sedge Beswick
Influencer Marketing expert, Sedge Beswick joins The Next 100 Days Podcast this week. When Sedge started working in social media Facebook was king, and TikTok didn’t even exist. She is now one of the UK’s foremost voices on influencer marketing.
Who is Sedge Beswick?
Sedge is MD and Founder, of award-winning influencer marketing agency SEEN Connects. Now, the group is international. We spoke to Sedge from her base in New York. Prior to starting her business, Sedge worked with brands like Nike, eBay and Panasonic, Red Bull and ASOS.
You might ask, who are these influencers? Well, they include the musician Lewis Capaldi, television presenter Laura Whitmore and comedian Jack Whitehall. She has published two books, hosted a podcast series, is a judge for industry awards and is a regular guest expert for BBC News, Sky News, the Financial Times and The Drum.
She supports young people entering social marketing and has helped more than 50 people land jobs.
Sedge in New York
You have to feel sorry for Sedge. Two months in New York. But, she claims to be tied to her laptop. A likely story! Still, Sedge noticed that the buzz word in NY right now is "cute". Answers on a postcard, what would be a good acronym for CUTE?
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Sedge-Beswick-Cute.mp4
Your accent is so CUTE - Clearly Understands Tactful Elocution!
Sedge's Work Background
Firstly, Sedge has had such a fun career. Like, working for Red Bull. You must have seen those cars with the slanting can of Red Bull on the top. If you were in Nottingham, a few years back, that was Sedge in the car!
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Sedge-Beswick-Work-Background.mp4
What does SEEN Connects do?
SEEN Connects is an influencer marketing agency. First, they help brands with celebrities and influencers. Secondly, they come up with a creative. Thirdly, they manage that creative from end to end.
She mentioned: "Archetypal Alignment" - you wouldn't go for a Scott Disick (from Keeping Up WIth The Kardashians) paid ad for say a weight bulking powder. I'm not entirely sure he'd do that anyway, but I have to admit to having never watched that show. There would be a negative reaction.
What kind of Clients do You Work With?
Let's start with Nike. In this clip, Sedge talks about a localised influencer marketing campaign.
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Sedge-Beswick-Nike.mp4
And Why Would a Brand Want Influencer Marketing Support?

| #318 Leanne Elich – Sales Psychology | 08 Apr 2022 | 00:53:29 | |
Sales Psychology with Leanne Elich
Sales psychology helps generate more business. This podcast covers how. Leanne is a self-declared 'kooky' person. She's untypical, but we soon discovered she practices what she preaches. Boy, she listens really well. The sales psychology techniques that Leanne teaches are based on relationship selling.
What Leanne Does
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/Leanne-Elich-What-is-Sales-Psychology.mp4
Leanne's background is in medicine. She has worked globally for over 20 years. However, her more immersive clients, the ones that are one to one appointments are in Australia.
Think Outside The Box
Although Leanne dislikes cliches, her website headline is "Think Outside The Box". So, why use that tagline? Well, it's something she's always said. You could say, it is part of her archetype. The phrase points to people needing to be more alert about their surroundings. Moreover, Leanne calls the type of thinking "diagonal thinking". The important lesson is to open your eyes and mind to what's happening around you.
Don't just use brute force as a salesperson. Here's why.
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/Leanne-Elich-Listening.mp4
Listening is a skill. But, once you learn, you can start connecting with others on a different level. Doing this improves your confidence. After a while, your performance improves. Listening is at the core of a good salesperson.
Overcome the One BIG Mistake Sales People Make
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/Leanne-Elich-One-BIG-Mistake.mp4
In this section, Leanne (an outgoing person) explains how she alters the way she comes across to connect better with a person who is more reserved. Firstly, she has to identify the person's personality. The object is to make the customer more comfortable.

| #317 Anna Cheniuntai – Construction 3D Printing | 01 Apr 2022 | 00:53:49 | |
Construction 3D Printing with Anna Cheniuntai, CEO of Apis Cor Inc
Anna's construction 3D Printing goal is to make housing truly affordable and available. Her company is Apis Cor. It's leading the world in construction 3D printing. For example, her company builds the shell of a home 9x faster than traditional models. And 30% cheaper!
Apis Cor - Where Did The Name Come From?
The idea came from honey bees! Apis means honey bee in Latin. Honey bees were the first to use an extrusion process. Extrusion is the process of forming something by pushing something out through a small opening. Honey bees do this all the time to build their homes. Cor means heart in Latin. So, the name Apis Cor was inspired by the first animals to build 3D in the world. Honey Bees!
Credit: Photorama
As Anna says, we should be thankful to nature for providing inspiration.
Ambition Beyond Earth
Apis Cor uses robotics and autonomous construction technology. These skills are ideal for creating buildings on the Moon and Mars and beyond.
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/Anna-Cheniuntai-Beyond-Earth.mp4
Therefore, will Apis Cor use local sand on Mars to create the mortar needed? Yes. Firstly, that means you don't need to ship the mortar all the way from Earth. Secondly, to avoid the huge cost of doing so. This means Apis Cor will be examining ways to build locally whenever they can. Anna believes the local material on the Moon or Mars will have to be mixed with a special compound from Earth to achieve the desired construction 3D printing quality.
Will Apis Cor Build on Mars?
More specifically, will Anna realise her dream of 3D printing on Mars? Alongside a company like SpaceX, she thinks it is possible.
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/Anna-Cheniuntai-Span-of-Annas-Career.mp4
What Does Apis Cor Do Today?
Kevin wanted to bring us back down to Earth! He asked the question, what does Apis Cor do today?
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/Anna-Cheniuntai-What-Do-Apis-Cor-Do.mp4
Anna has named the robots.
Frank does the extrusion process.
Gary mixes the 3D print material and pumps it to Frank.
Mary is the bulk delivery truck.
Frank was inspired by Frank Floyd, a recognised Architect. He designed more than 1,000 structures over a creative period of 70 years. He died in the same year that Graham was born! Gary came from the cartoon Sponge-Bob Square Pants! Mary just fit with Frank and Gary!
Here's Mary! Isn't she elegant?
Are There Any Limitations?
Firstly, the number of floors is restricted to 3. That's about it.
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/Anna-Cheniuntai-Limitations.mp4
What PROBLEM is Apis Cor Solving?
Apis Cor solves an outdated construction industry. Traditional construction just cannot keep up with demand. Especially, when you consider worldwide housing needs. For example, in the USA, there is a shortage of 5 million houses. The problem is the industry relies on skilled labour that is limited. It is getting older and very expensive too. This means, construction companies cannot increase productivity to build more homes. The problem is the speed, quality and cost of construction.
This creates an affordability and availability problem.
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/Anna-Cheniuntai-Construction-Problems.mp4

Shell of House Build Productivity Gains
It's the shell of the house that's really important to building affordable homes. Apis Cor are ahead of the market in this critical respect.

| #316 Chris Martin – Business Finance | 24 Mar 2022 | 00:48:24 | |
Does your business need more cash? Do you need money to invest in equipment? Or perhaps just some help with your working capital? Chris Martin can help you. He shares with us how businesses can benefit from his services as an intermediary with lenders. Origin Finance is Chris Martin's company and they supply business finance solutions. They are based near Northampton.
What is business finance?
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/Chris-Martin-What-is-Business-Finance.mp4
The primary target for Origin Finance is to fund businesses through periods of growth.
Do you fill the gap that Banks leave?
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/Chris-Martin-Do-you-fill-the-banks-gap.mp4
Are Small Enterprises Always a Good Risk?
Nope. Chris told us his first priority is to protect his lenders' money. Secondly, he gets the required funding into the businesses that need it. At the moment, as a result of the artificially high levels of Government money. There is a high level of fraud out there. So, Origin Finance spend time weeding out the potential fraudsters.
Moreover, Chris thinks the increased level of fraudulent activity has meant Banks are even more likely to reject loan applications. What's surprising, is Banks don't have the systems to weed out these fraudsters, so they say no to just about everybody.
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/Chris-Martin-Approach-to-lending-different.mp4
What Sort of Things Could I ask For Financing For?
As per usual, Kevin asked another great question... Anything but property. That's because there are better people who can help with property.
Asset Finance - a gym company who wanted a 4th gym kitting out.

| #315 Wayne Moloney – B2B Sales | 18 Mar 2022 | 00:52:26 | |
B2B Sales with Wayne Moloney
Wayne Moloney is an expert in B2B Sales. So, what do you really want from an expert? The answer is, to share your expertise simply. He's doing that with his novel all about a complex B2B Sales situation. Yes, a novel. It's called: The Wentworth Prospect.
It's Business Development, Not Sales
Wayne started his career as an engineer. He soon realised that wasn't for him. So, he got into sales. And now an author. Previously, he wrote a book about sales management. Why? Because he'd been thrown into sales management. You know, managing people. The damned hard thing.
He'd been a young successful salesman but became a rubbish sales manager. Not the first, not the last!
Wayne also wrote a book on the basics of B2B Sales. That's because he got annoyed by other books suggesting there is a silver bullet.
What has been Wayne's Career Passion?
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/Wayne-Moloney-The-Wentworth-Propsect.mp4
So, Wayne wrote The Wentworth Prospect. Moreover, the story featured a heroine. Why a female character? Wayne explained, that females are still under-represented in sales. Surprisingly, females tend to be more successful than men. Interestingly, they tend to be more empathetic. Additionally, they are keener to discover what is happening in a situation.
Why Did You Write a B2B Sales Story?
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/Wayne-Moloney-Why-a-story-book.mp4
Wayne shared the first 3 chapters of The Wentworth Prospect:

Wayne also spoke about 'lean sales'. It means,
to reduce waste
add value
continual improvement
How much waste have you got? Start with your unqualified pipelines.

| #314 Phil Fraser – Business Sounding Board | 11 Mar 2022 | 00:45:29 | |
Being a Business Sounding Board with Phil Fraser
What is a business sounding board? Well, it's a cross between a business mentor and a business coach. Phil is a 'got the T shirt' adviser. Moreover, he makes for a useful business sounding board when you are stuck.
What is a Sounding Board?
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/Phil-Fraser-Business-Sounding-Board.mp4
Phil says it helps not to be in the business. That way he can stay curious. The more curious he is, the better questions he can ask. As he is looking at a business from the outside in, it gives him a different perspective from the owner.
2 Classic Questions to ask...
Why did you do that?
Why did you do it that way?
Business owners hate those questions. The answer is usually, I did it like that in my old business, or, we've always done it like that. As Phil says, those are TERRIBLE answers.

| #313 Shiv Gupta – Online Marketing | 04 Mar 2022 | 00:48:01 | |
Online Marketing with Shiv Gupta
Shiv has been around online marketing since his teens. His New Delhi based business now has over 100 staff. Incrementors attracts online marketing clients from around the world. We recorded the podcast mid-afternoon. Shiv is known as a 'night owl' as to him, at 8.30 pm his local time, that's the middle of his day. That's because the majority of his clients are from the US and Canada.
Incrementors Provide Online Marketing
Shiv helps clients to get more traffic, leads and sales from Email automation, PPC and SEO services. More important than getting traffic to a website, he focuses on increasing sales once they have arrived. Such strategies include setting up proper calls to action.
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/Shiv-Gupta-Messaging.mp4
Prior to providing focused copywriting to improve website messaging, Incrementors provide training sessions to identify who they wish to sell to.
If you are struggling to convert people once they get to the site, it might be because you've attracted the wrong crowd! Moreover, if you ask and answer questions about your ideal audience you'll get a much better feel for who to attract.
Age
Demographics
Interests
Pain points
Pleasures in life
Once his clients start writing to these points, his clients start to realise the errors they have made in their copy, their offer on their website. With these changes...
"...the content of the website changes and that's when the magic starts!"
Shiv Gupta
Is this process a lot of work?
Version one is better than version none.

Backlinks? Shiv says focus more on the quality of content and that will attract your ideal clients and the links you need.
Do you care about the quality of leads you generate?
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/Shiv-Gupta-Back-Links-Quality.mp4
Kevin points out that podcasting is an excellent strategy for creating backlinks. It is much more than that. Kevin and I have done research on the name of the guest. The Next 100 Days Podcast invariably ranks on either page 1 or page 2 for the guest!
For fun, I have just Google searched a few recent guests:
John Lamerton - Page 2
Stuart McDonagh - Page 1
Steven Haggerty - Page 2
Odessa Sherreard - Page 1
Therefore, Shiv recommends all his clients become guests on podcasts. As a consequence, personal branding is such an important factor in attracting new clients.
Tips From Shiv Gupta
Work on content that solves problems. More demand generation rather than lead generation.

What is a Corporate Treasurer?
Jen explains that a corporate treasurer is responsible for managing the financial risk of a business.

In a way, they act as an in-house bank.
But she's not a bank. She just tales on the tasks that would otherwise be outsourced to banks.
Challenges of Working with Banks
Graham and Jen discuss the difficulties of working with banks.
Banks can overcomplicate processes and make it hard for businesses to understand the full costs.
Jen emphasises the importance of having trusted banking partners though.
But above all, she forges relationships with people who can explain things clearly.
Jen's Background
Jen told us how she decided to leave her corporate job and start Treasury Edge.

She discusses the challenges of going out on her own.
One thing that is clear to her now, is she has had to develop new skills beyond just treasury expertise.

Jen sets up sustainable treasury processes to mitigate risks like bank failures or payment disruptions.

| #312 Martin Booth – Copywriting | 25 Feb 2022 | 00:41:25 | |
Copywriting with Martin Booth
Copywriting expert Martin Booth rejoins The Next 100 Days Podcast for the second time. His first visit was back in 2018. Meanwhile, over the course of the last 3 years he has developed his business. He says he has attracted some fantastic clients. Martin's weakness is that he loves writing.
How Did Martin Grow His Copywriting Business?
Martin says he worked hard, networked lots and got referrals and testimonials for his work.
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/Martin-Booth-How-Did-He-Buiild-His-Copywriting-Business.mp4
He has a business associate in the States who encapsulated his networking approach. He said, who do you remember most from networking meetings? Do you remember the guy who pitches you his elevator pitch or the guy that asks you a lot of questions and is interested in you?
Therefore. Martin's friend said beware of having "COMMISSION BREATH". Specifically, that means you are coming across as desperate for the sale.
Create Your 10 WORD Introduction
Generally, Martin says you should distill what you do and what you bring to people in 10 words. On the day of the podcast, Martin attended a networking meeting beforehand. In this case, someone came up to him, as you do, and asked 'what do you do?'.
Martin said:
"I'm a copywriter, [I write great words that help you get more business.]"

| #311 Stuart McDonagh – Scheduling | 18 Feb 2022 | 00:55:29 | |
Scheduling with Stuart McDonagh
Scheduling expert Stuart McDonagh joins the podcast for this episode. Stuart worked alongside Kevin Appleby earlier in their careers. Kevin's son aged with Stuart and so Kevin had inbuilt experience managing his relationship with Stuart. Now, Stuart runs We Schedule It.
Intrapreneur
An entrepreneur is that anti-establishment person in the company, who creates new opportunities. Stuart was a bit like that himself.
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/Stuart-McDonagh-Intrapreneur.mp4
What Problem is We Schedule It Solving?
The We Schedule It business was founded in May 2020. Originally, it was to address the back-log of appointments in the NHS. Stuart came up against an immovable object. Despite the fact that the non-care and treatment side of the NHS which desperately needs reform. He cites the booking, the scheduling, the availability.
Stuart really wanted to help the NHS fix these all too obvious problems. Quickly, he got a team around him and produced a Minimum Viable Product, which he took to the NHS. And failed, as he said.
Since then, he has pivoted to become a services scheduling app, where he says there is a 'white space' for a service. Now, they are entering pre-seed funding round to acquire funds to develop their business.
Is it Failure, or is it Learning?
Stuart is clearly bothered by the experience, but all that tells us is he cares very much about fixing issues that as a Nation, we can and should get fixed. For example, the NHS app (did you know hey had one?) doesn't do re-scheduling. His solution can.
With the NHS, there are any number of roadblocks to overcome to get anything done. There came a point when Stuart and his team realised he just couldn't push treacle up his any further.
The Scheduling Pivot
In this clip, Stuart tracks through from Scheduling App to a much more sophisticated business services solution. This app covers discovery (who do you want to help you), the payment, the interaction, rescheduling, all the way through to feedback.
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/Stuart-McDonagh.mp4
One example Stuart mentioned was the bereavement process. The app would consolidate all the players in that field. Another example, buying and selling property.
Their marketplace is an alternative to Pay Per Click? Does the marketplace look like Yellow Pages? No. Stuart aggregates everyone you need for the bereavement or property sales process. But is this likely? Stuart says he'd twin a big city plus smaller town. Manchester and Sale.
Seeking Pre-Seed Investment
Stuart is looking for £350,000 of pre-seed investment. Moreover, he has built a 'Negative Nelly' model to present a sensible proposition to an Investor.
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/Stuart-McDonagh-White-Pages-With-a-PPC-Offering.mp4
Therefore, to get a new brand, the service is likely to be re-named ROARI.

| #310 James Lott – Digital Marketing Apprenticeships | 11 Feb 2022 | 00:53:17 | |
Apprenticeships with James Lott
James Lott supports apprenticeships in digital marketing for entrepreneurs. So, how do you get the talent in and how do you retain it and progress that talent? His focus is digital marketing. Working Knowledge is his business and it is based in Bristol. He comes from a family of entrepreneurs. His training business has been going for 17 years!
National Apprentice Week - 7th to 13th February 2022
We recorded James Lott's podcast to be released during The National Apprenticeships Week 2022. Click on the image above and you can find out even more information about apprenticeships. Alternatively, as you are sure to establish, check out James Lott at WORKING KNOWLDGE.
Helping Young People Thrive
For 17 years, James has been helping young people get started in their careers. One of James's clients described the act of helping young people as "a responsibility and a privilege". It's all about encouraging the next generation of entrepreneurs and young people in business.
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/James-Lott-Young-Talent.mp4
Schools can improve their training of young people. Not least, they can improve careers training. You have to spend time in businesses to be able to get across what it is like working there. James has actually helped organisations present to schools. As a result, it's an amazing experience he says. By entrepreneurs showing up in classrooms, it helps bring a school's curriculum alive.
Can Businesses Inspire Youngsters to take Apprenticeships Instead of University?
The big question is should an 18 year old go to university or become an apprentice?

| #309 – Jane Shaw – Time Management | 04 Feb 2022 | 00:50:43 | |
Time Management with Jane Shaw
This might have been Jane Shaw's first podcast, but what she tells us about time management will surely generate a series of guest appearances elsewhere! Jane runs a company called Serious Development. She comes from Suffolk. Jane is currently doing a Masters in Business Psychology at the University of East London.
Incredibly, Jane says she doesn't believe in time management! Jane works with a training company called Nine Dots Development. One of our listeners, Aadila Jassat introduced Jane to us.
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/Jane-Shaw-Managing-Time.mp4
Jane says that COVID has pushed people into wanting to be seen as productive. In the past, staff would have been 'present' at work. You could see them there! COVID blurred this because you were working from home. More than that, there was no longer that commute 'buffer' between work and home.
Jane says that people are questioning "Is what I'm Doing, Good Enough?". Am I good enough, showing to the company that I am good enough?
Therefore, it's less about productivity and more about how you are doing holistically.
It's About Being Kind
On the University course, Jane is currently attending, her lecturer said 8 out of 10 dissertations included the word COVID in the title.
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/Jane-Shaw-Kindness.mp4
Jane says people are JUST getting by. She argues the tools of time management are removing the humanity of working life. So, in therapy, her coaching students end up in tears often.
Kevin admitted he'd only been on a client site once in the last 2 years. Before COVID he'd do that regularly. When he is away from the desk, he really appreciates his time. Kevin thinks people think that if you are not at your screen, you are not working.
Get Back to the Workplace!!!
For your sanity and time management, get back to the workplace. Jane shares an excellent example of informal skills share. On top of that, she gives another example of dumb companies not knowing when they are being ripped off.
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/Jane-Shaw-Get-Back-to-the-Workplace.mp4
FREE RESOURCE: Time Management Course
Give yourself short rituals of recovery, says Jane. Like Graham, go for a walk. Give yourself a chance to think. Download the free resources from Nine Dots.
What's in the FREE RESOURCE?
Each activity will take 15 minutes.
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/Jane-Shaw-Free-Time-Management-Resource-Explained.mp4
Meanwhile, Graham had a senior moment. He forgot what it was that a colleague used to accuse him of when it comes to procrastination. He's remembered now!
"His indecision is final!"

| #308 Steven Haggerty – Lead Generation | 28 Jan 2022 | 00:58:36 | |
Lead Generation with Steven Haggerty from GrowLeady
Steven Haggerty is a lead generation specialist and runs a company called GrowLeady. They've grown quickly and now employs ten staff. GrowLeady offer lead generation through LinkedIn, email marketing and Pay Per Click on Instagram, Facebook and TikTok.
Founders365 - a lead generation podcast
Steven is a relentless guy. He recorded almost one show a day for a year. Amazingly, he has produced 222 shows in such a short time period. You have to say, that's impressive consistency. It was late 2019, when Steven made a decision to record podcasts. He figured out that a founders podcast was a smart way to get in front of his founder's target audience.
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/Steven-Haggerty-Podcast-Story.mp4
What did Steve learn?
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/Steven-Haggerty-What-did-you-learn.mp4
So, what did he learn? Those that are truly successful and happy are NOT online all the time. This was a big revelation for Steven. Understandably, this reverted his approach to one he started his business life with...
I always had that work hard in silence mentality.
Steven Haggerty
GrowLeady is all about growth and lead generation. Steve says it has been a whirlwind. In just 7 months, the agency has grown to 10 employees and they have clients all over the world.
What methods are used to generate leads?
GrowLeady uses cold outreach and paid ads. Cold outreach is cold email and LinkedIn. Paid Ads across Facebook, Instagram, Google, TikTok and YouTube.
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/Steven-Haggerty-Outreach.mp4
You could spend between £200 and £100,000 per month. Steven says TikTok is a great way to approach GEN-Z customers with short-form e-commerce video.
Big question, ask yourself WHERE DOES YOUR CUSTOMER HANG OUT. Kevin reiterated the importance of having a client avatar.
A Change in buyer behaviour
How do younger audiences buy? Well, within 3 taps of your phone you can buy a product. First, tap the ad. Second, go on the website and order. Third, use Apple Pay to pay. Steven says people's buying behaviour has changed dramatically over the last 3 years. How? People have shifted from a conscious buying behaviour, where they think, consider and look at their options. He recalls a time (as a 29-year-old) that he'd have 5 different tabs open, to assess where the best place is to buy that thing is. Realistically, 9 out of 10 times he'll buy from Amazon.
Or, he'll buy a product from an ad. Ads put what you want in front of you. Social media is so different for every single person. People with certain views will receive more news articles with those views. This is causing an argumentative culture. This polarises approaches.
Paid outreach avoids polarisations. You focus on demographics.
Do High Net Worth Individuals Avoid Social Media?
Steven highlights Instagram as a platform that attracts a number of HNWs. He used to work in the superyacht industry. Buyers wanted privacy. Now, social media is ego-based. HNWs will still share with their friends.

| #307 John Lamerton – Evergreen Assets | 21 Jan 2022 | 01:04:38 | |
Evergreen Assets with John Lamerton
Evergreen Assets is the name of John Lamerton's latest book. This is John's third appearance on The Next 100 Days Podcast.
Evergreen Assets - The Book
BUY THE BOOK
John wrote the majority of the book in the March 2020 lockdown. John's clients were concerned to receive his advice. Firstly, he told them to look after cash flow. Secondly, look after relationships. One of the recurring themes in the book is that it is not a numbers game, it's a relationships game. No one remembers what you did, but they'll remember how you made them feel. Thirdly, he told people to build evergreen assets.
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/John-Lamerton-Evergreen-Assets.mp4
Noddy Holder - Great Example of Evergreen Assets
Even though Graham got his 70s bands mixed up, Mud and Slade. Noddy Holder was in fact the lead singer and writer of a very popular Christmas anthem. John tells the story...
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/John-Lamerton-Noddy-Holder.mp4
It is rumoured that Noddy Holder receives £500k royalties, etc for the song every year. That is some return of effort deployed.
John Doesn't Like "What's Working Now"
He says the Guru's like to sell 'what's working right now. Why? It's because Guru's can say the reason you're now successful is you aren't doing what's working right now. You are using an outdated model. The world has moved on. He says, The Gurus will say, "I've got a secret, and that secret is what's working right now".
It's all smoke and mirrors. A sleight of hand magic trick to rob you of money.
Instead, John encourages business owners to focus on what works every single time. It's the "Merry Christmas Everybody" marketing strategy.
What do you think of Social Media?
"It's tomorrow's chip paper."
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/John-Lamerton-Social-Media.mp4
The Social Network
John points out that social media used to be known as the social network.
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/John-Lamerton-Disliking-Social-Media.mp4
John argues that it is far better for business owners to go deep with a few people, rather than spray stuff to lots of people.
The Evergreen Assets Eco-System
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/John-Lamerton-Evergreen-Assets-Eco-System.mp4
There will be one of the 6 seed classes that your business can most benefit from.
Viral Class - R Rate
John uses the R rate, used to reflect the Replicate Rate of the China Virus. So if you have an R rate of 1.5, for every 10 customers, they'll bring in 5 free.
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/John-Lamerton-R-Rate-Viral.mp4
The gym wraps up a shareable story that can be put into a referral system, then you'll have a business that produces a huge number of referral clients. The trade is made with the client to say if I produce the results you are looking for, you will refer me to 5 other people.
The Guarantee
Meanwhile, John has noted his clients like the idea of offering guarantees.

| #306 Odessa Sherreard – Creating Engaging Content | 14 Jan 2022 | 00:55:17 | |
Creating Engaging Content with Odessa Sherreard
Creating engaging content is a Labour of love for Odessa Sherreard. Every day she spends her time on LinkedIn engaging with people to create leads for businesses. However, it is how she does it that is instructional.
Odessa helps businesses find and promote their voice across social media. This helps to get their brand "out there" and feel represented. Above all, it's about doing this in a more personal human way. Graham looked up the name Odessa. It derives from the Greek word Odyssey. Which translates as "long journey". He quipped that he thought the podcast might go on forever!
On LinkedIn 24/7
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/On-Linkedin-247.mp4
The LinkedIn Pretenders
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/LinkedIn-Pretenders.mp4
What does engagement mean to Odessa?
For a lot of people, they tend to assume that engagement is what happens to their own content. This means It's not just about looking at what others are commenting on your posts. For Odessa, it is about having conversations with anybody. First, it doesn't have to be on your content. Second, either you support someone else's content or just join in the conversation.
Odessa says you need to be intentional about where you leave comments. Not so much random, more where you add value. So you may be commenting that reaffirms your voice, your brand etc.
Odessa is living the dream
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/Living-the-LinkedIn-Dream.mp4
Amazingly, Odessa spends most of every day on LinkedIn. She likes it. For her that is a revelation. Odessa enjoys working alongside her colleague. He values her and it makes for an enjoyable working environment.
In addition, Odessa enjoys her writing and what she is discussing. It is a form of addiction, she just wants to do more of it.
Odessa also supports a Pre-School
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/Pre-School.mp4
Interestingly, Odessa feels the physical community she grew up in has somewhat dissipated. By contrast, her view is it has shifted onto social media. Oddly, social media has connected Odessa to more local people.
Be Authentic
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/Be-Authentic.mp4
You don't need to come up with a grand 'interest'. Use your favourite 'Dad Joke". My dog did this, do you like dogs. Respond with a piece of yourself.
How does Odessa learn things about her clients?
In order that Odessa speaks in the voice of her client, first, she needs to understand them. Moreover, she deploys a questionnaire.
Favourite holiday
the things you'd learn about them as a friend
she'll listen to their turn of phrase
she picks clients where there is an attachment between them.
It is a difficult skill to write in someone else's voice
Moreover, Odessa's zoom introduction meetings ask:
what do they want to achieve with their business
if they came to her because of something Odessa had written, what was it that resonated with them
she listens to what they want, she tells them what she can do and the route that is best taken to achieve their goals.
social media can take a few months before results.
so, honesty is important.
Redefining Leads
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/Redefining-Leads.mp4
The lead that Odessa provides is really a conversation. Her client follows up.

University & Business Partnerships with Dr David Spicer
Small businesses looking to develop business partnerships with Universities should pay attention to this podcast. Dr David Spicer works for The University of Bradford. David later spent time working in retail with Woolworths where he ran a shop. Later, he spent time in their HR department
His academic focus became how organisations learn. The research was all about how managers shared knowledge with others in the team.
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/Organisation-Learning.mp4
David has been driven by the idea of business partnerships.
University and Business Partnerships Have Driven David's Career
David mentioned Charles Handy. Never heard of him? Well, here's a link to The Wisdom of Charles Handy
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/Management-Approach.mp4
"We need to be as applied as we can be", says Dr David Spicer. To kevin's point regarding Balanced Scorecards - he can teach the theory in university easily, but it is the practical application with politics and the right content that will make it zing!
Students Who Work in Industry Out-Perform Those That Don't
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/Better-Outcomes.mp4
The thing about being a student is you want to immerse yourself in the potential a university offers. If you want a continuation of schools spoon feeding you, then you're shorting your own future. Bradford University builds into their programmes, the opportunities to gain experience, build confidence and get valuable understanding which will make entry into the workforce a great deal easier.
In this clip, David explains the real benefits for both students and businesses from the programme at Bradford University. How to make yourself compelling to an employer!
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/Benefits-for-Business-Students.mp4
The Knowledge Transfer Network
For more information on KTN, go here.
The University puts on seminars for local small businesses. Imparting knowledge and facilitating networking. Students come along too.
Times Higher Education Award went to Bradford University for BUSINESS SCHOOL OF THE YEAR.
David encourages small businesses to see local universities as a resource. For instance, collaborative reports. The universities have students who are keen to work with businesses. The students themselves are supported by academic faculty members. They can help you get that report done. You know, that report you've not got round to doing.
No Front Door At Universities
This is a challenge for the Universities to make it easier for businesses to find their way into the university itself. The Business School at Bradford relocated to the main campus. This makes the university a bigger and better hub. David says it makes the place more permeable for students and businesses.
Is the Future Looking Good for Small Businesses?
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/Small-Business-Future.mp4
Kevin makes the point that learning is accelerating because of the internet. He sees LinkedIn learning. Is it a threat to universities? Any encouragements into your model is a threat, says David. But, there is space for different programmes. Universities offer professional standards accreditation too, alongside degrees. The other big dynamic that has changed the sector is the apprenticeship. None of this will undermine the value of a University degree.

| #304 – Matt Footner – AI Forex Trading | 17 Dec 2021 | 01:00:05 | |
AI Forex Trading with Matt Footner
AI Forex Trading expert Matt Footner runs Simply Bots. That is a company that has developed an AI solution that enables investors who are not Forex experts to trade automatically. His platform has made his clients a lot of money in 2021. So, how has he done that? Customer service is at the core of the answer, but there is a load of tech that makes everything work so well for his clients.
A Fantastic AI Forex Trading Team
Matt was very humble. It was his supremely talented team who created the AI bot. But, we wouldn't be far wrong by saying that Matt inspired the work! Bot is short for robot. A slave to humans. Well, that is until they get so clever that they take over the world.
The rationale for using AI is that it takes the emotion out of trading. So what do the bots do?
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/Matt-Footner-Bots.mp4
So, what questions should you ask BEFORE going into foreign exchange trading using an AI bot?
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/Matt-Footner-Questions-to-ask-before-investing.mp4
Kevin made the case that he knows next to nothing about Forex Trading.
$6 Trillion FX Trading Per Day!
The markets are open more or less 7 days per week. And $6Tn is traded in forex every day.
This kind of trading is about passive income. You can find more about Matt and his company at: fxplusrange.com
Tolerance to Risk
Matt says we have all got a tolerance to risk. He is 50 years old, he had his kids when he was young and a couple of years back, financially they were off his hands. Unlike other families who have their kids a bit later in life, at Matt's age they might be more risk averse, as they have more current commitments.
FX Plus Range The 5 range is a lower risk option, and offers around 5% per month.
Matt's background is financial Services. He was a financial adviser. As one of them, your main aim is to protect the client's principal and then get growth. In the financial industry, the people that make the big money are the FX and Hedge fund guys. They make money off money.
Too Good to be True?

Fibonacci Curve - the Golden Triangle
See an article about the Fibonacci Curve and Forex Trading:
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/Matt-Footner-fibonacci-curve.mp4
How it works - human emotion
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/Matt-Footner-Example.mp4
Volatility is the friend of the forex trader. Matt said that when President Trump sent out a 'mean tweet', which is not the moral equivalency of shuttering a pipeline from Canada, then going cap in hand to OPEC, or leaving Americans stranded in Afghanistan - it lead to fluctuations in the foreign exchange rates.
Euro to Dollar 1.13322 (2 Dec 2021) - so over the year the dollar has DEPRECIATED against the Euro.
It's thrown the financial advice truisms out of the window. As Matt said, if you want a salary of £60k pa, then you'd need to retire with £1.2m. Now, Matt has clients with less than £100k on his platform, and they are taking £5k after fees per month.
For the Everyman
Fancy £5k per month?
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/Matt-Footner-Wifes-Story.mp4
The strategy is based on human emotion. The first bot, for his wife, was doing around 20% per month. £12.5k generating £3k per month. The solution is now a fund. He has 15 bots each with £1m. The margin to fail is lower.
Any major headlines, is great for FX trading. Speculation, not so much.
But remember the RULE OF MANUAL TRADING - 90% of people, lose 90% of capital, within 90 days of trading. So AI takes the emotion out of trading.

| #303 Pat Helmers – Career Pivot to Being a Cannabis Advocate | 10 Dec 2021 | 01:00:36 | |
Pat Helmers the Sales Podcaster turned Cannabis Advocate
Cannabis Advocate Pat Helmers joins us on The Next 100 Days Podcast. He discusses a recent career change. It's all happened in the last 100 days. Pat has become a Cannabis Advocate. His new podcast offers him cannabis industry networking opportunities. The cannabis market size is roughly $13 billion now. It's forecast to grow to $70 billion in 7 years! So you can see, it's a sound strategy for him to become a vocal advocate for the cannabis industry.
In March, Pat's Sales Babble Podcast is 8 Years Old!
Imagine that, podcasting once a week for 8 years! Now that is consistency! Listen here: https://www.salesbabble.com
Being a Cannabis Advocate
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/Pat-Helmers-Cannabis-Advocate.mp4
Pat plans to use his Cannabis Advocate Podcast as a way to network. He wants to be a match-maker. Moreover, he wants to be an advocate for the Cannabis industry. In the United States, cannabis is legal in some States, but not at the Federal level.
However, as there are problems with products crossing state borders. More than that, there are problems with banking too. Pat says that over time he wants to connect with people. You can do that with a podcast.
Is Cannabis a Gateway to Other Drugs?
However, Pat says it isn't. On the other hand, you might want to look at this NIH Research Report. Meantime, it does seem to have an interesting history.
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/Pat-Helmers-Gateway-Drug.mp4
Pat Helmers provides a Testimonial for The Next 100 Days Podcast
Including an outtake too!
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/Pat-Helmers-Testimonial.mp4
Pat is vehement about Cannabis not being a gateway drug. He cited the 1980s and Nancy Reagan pushing the 'gateway' drug agenda. The process States take, like California, is decriminalisation, then medical use, then adult use. But, it's a slow process.
Pat's wife's story
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/Pat-Helmers-Wifes-Story.mp4
The pharmaceutical industry does not want cannabis legalisation. Pat reckons the hero stories will start to gain acceptance.
Pat is a stoic. He doesn't work in a world of fear. Instead, he wants to exude courage, wisdom and kindness.
Kevin mentioned Russell Thackeray and CBD - a previous podcast. His point is it'll take time through regulation cycles to make cannabis legal. Pat sees opportunity in the problems besetting the industry.
How Will Pat Monetise the Podcast?
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/Pat-Helmers-Monetising-His-New-Podcast.mp4
It is a growing market. 5x in the next 7 years. An index play would seem a sensible investment.

90 Minute Books
Stuart's marketing and operational experience helped take 90-Minute Books from idea to an organisation that has helped over 800 business owners and entrepreneurs create their greatest lead generation tool. And in this episode of The Next 100 Days, he unpicks how everything works and why you should consider writing your own 90 Minute Book.
Stuart and Graham are both MeclabsAI Guild members. What is even more exciting is Stuart's partner in 90 Minute Books is the one and only Dean Jackson, a world renowned marketing expert. Come across a landing page? Or the 9-word email? Yep, Dean was the inspiration for both.
Summary of the Podcast

The participants, Stuart Bell, Kevin Appleby, and Graham Arrowsmith, engage in some casual conversation.
They banter about British accents, the Queen, and changes to British currency and culture.

Prices range from $3,000 to $6,000 depending on the level of customisation and support needed.
He explains the benefits of providing both digital and physical book copies.
These books can be used as lead generation and relationship-building tools.
Comparison to traditional publishing
Stuart contrasts the 90-minute books approach with traditional book publishing,
With Stuart, the goal is to create a conversation-starting tool rather than a lengthy, academic work.

| #302 Hilary Rowland – Retreats | 03 Dec 2021 | 00:45:42 | |
Retreats with Hilary Rowland
Have you ever been on a retreat? Hilary Rowland provides residential retreats. Did you see her recent LinkedIn post? She states, "Are You Contemplating a Strategy Away Day? Don't!". These away days are awful. They are crammed full of PowerPoint presentations. Then someone tries desperately to herd people in one direction. A written plan is then agreed upon. Which, of course, no one looks at again.
What Was That Moment When The Penny Dropped About Retreats?
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/Hilary-Rowland-CEO-Reaction.mp4
Hilary ran CEO retreats over a number of years. She thought they need to put more 'content' or value into the first afternoon, rather than allowing FREE time. The CEOs resented it. Because they knew they were going to have that time to think. How often is that available for people?
Previous to her current business, Next Chapter Retreats Hilary was a Chair of Vistage. As part of the package, executives got from Vistage, there was a 2-day annual retreat.
Retreat Secret Sauce?
Graham asked whether there was a secret sauce to retreats? Hilary said yes, people learn much more in small groups.
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/Hilary-Rowland-Retreat-Secret-Sauce.mp4
Hilary's philosophy is to give attendees as much time as they need. They do offer structured activities. These activities get people to reflect. Or, people are asked questions that they haven't thought about for a long time.
They use the Japanese concept of "ikigai", which means "a reason for being". This helps people connect to their PURPOSE. What they are good at, what they love and what matters to them.
Who Attends Retreats?
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/Hilary-Rowland-Whos-Attending.mp4
At Vistage, it was nearly all men. But, with Next Chapter Retreats, Hilary finds there is no difference one way or another.
Why Do People Attend?
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/Hilary-Rowland-Why-Do-People-Attend.mp4
How Should Graham's Charity Spend Time on Their Away Day?
So much is lost when you only talk to each other on a screen. Company culture is destroyed bit by bit. Retreats offer space and time. If the CEO management team are not connected, how can they motivate their staff?
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/Hilary-Rowland-Exercise.mp4
Hilary Discourages Emails and Phone Calls on Her Retreats
It is part of the contract she has with people. Attendees are delighted and relieved not to have to take calls and emails. It is possible to do this. Graham referenced the podcast with Marcey Rader, Episode 301. Marcey talks about doing away with notifications. That's because your precious time is hijacked by someone else's agenda.
Hilary has experienced religious retreats. She says the whole idea about purpose is religious. Hilary goes to the Scottish Island of Iona, which is a deeply spiritual place.
Not surprisingly, Hilary gets plenty of very positive testimonials, like these that were featured on her website:
It's fun at the Retreat!
Meantime, at Hilary's retreats, there is loads of good food and red wine. The social side of going away is very important. Amongst other things, they play games. Like, 2 truths one lie.
Here's one for Graham
Firstly, Graham once lost 5 stones in weight in 5 months.
Secondly, he played the drums in a bar on Bourbon Street, New Orleans.
Thirdly, Graham once scored against a team of ex Leeds United footballers.
One of those is a lie. Two are truths. You decide!!

| #301 – Marcey Rader – Revitalise Productivity | 26 Nov 2021 | 00:53:15 | |
Revitalise Productivity with Marcey Rader
Revitalise productivity means helping people find the time that they swear isn't there.
Marcey helps people use their time in a more intentional way. Most people go through their day reacting to people, agendas and crises. People often are not clear about what they are going to do in their next 10 minutes. Instead, their devices ping at them and steal away their time.
Those devices we mentioned - mobile phones - are useful tools says Marcey, when we are not allowing ourselves to be dictated by them.
NoMoPhoBia - the fear of being without your phone.
Have you experienced nomophobia? Awww, must have been hell for you! Marcey tells the story about her analogue watch. She wore it instead of her Apple Watch for an all day event. On that day, it was important for her to focus. But, she kept looking at the analogue watch to see if she'd had an email.
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/NoMoPhobia.mp4
Kevin and Marcey both wear Apple Watches. They mentioned closing the move ring. This means they have daily targets for standing, exercising and moving. The move ring.
Revitalise Productivity Tip - TURN OFF NOTIFICATIONS
Marcey does a workshop called Focus Power Ups. One lady on the course told her about her Fitbit telling her to stand up all the time. Which she ignores. But, boy it distracts her. The lady was effectively in a battle of wills with the Fitbit.
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/Marcey-Rader-Focus.mp4
Kevin pointed out that notifications on devices make you reactive. They deny focus. Notifications are normally on as default. Just turn off the notifications.
Marcey recommends that some executives ONLY look at their email inbox once or twice a day. That's not practical for a personal assistant, it does rely on the role. It is sort of a reward.
Revitalise Productivity Tip - What are Your 1 to 3 Priorities for Today?
You ought not have more than 3. Focus on those that'll truly move the needle towards the place you'd like to be.
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/Marcy-Rader-3-Daily-Priorities.mp4
Ask yourself what is that top task that I'll complete BEFORE I hit my inbox. That is a real behavioural shift for some people, especially those who check their email first thing in the morning.
On the Google Work platform, you can use Inbox pause. That means, you pause seeing your emails until you are good and ready. Her top tier clients are never paused. Hello Sign emails are contracts, so they are let in too. Marcey processes email as a task, for instance.
Revitalise Productivity Tip - Focus
Do you schedule meetings when you are at your best? Marcey is at her best first thing in a morning.
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/Marcy-Rader-Focus-Time.mp4
Burnout
Overwhelm
Too Many Notifications
But who's to blame? Devices are designed to get us to use them more.
Who's to blame?
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/Marcey-Rader-Whos-to-Blame.mp4
We need to take ownership of our own decisions.
Virtual Professional
Marcey prefers the term "Virtual Professional" rather than "Virtual Assistant". She has hired from countries that are economically and politically disadvantage - such as, Venezuela, Philippines, Guatemala and Kenya. Make the assessment what your time is worth and contrast this with what you would spend on a VA.
Marcey recommends Virtual Latinos - go here
She also recommends iWorker - go here
Before Bed
Turn off your devices at least an hour before you go to bed.

| #300 Kevin Appleby & Graham Arrowsmith – Review | 19 Nov 2021 | 00:47:23 | |
A Review of the Last 6 Years with Kevin Appleby & Graham Arrowsmith
After 6 years of podcasting, Graham and Kevin decided to review what they'd achieved in this milestone 300th episode. Prior to the podcast in our way, we agreed to discuss 3 things that have been good for us and 3 things that have not been so good during that time. And not just for the podcast, but for our businesses too.
Kevin pays homage to Internet Business Mastery
Without both Kevin and I listening to the Internet Business Mastery podcast, we would not have even met, let alone start a podcast. The presenters of this popular show, have both been guests on The Next 100 Days. Here are the links to their shows with us.
Jeremy Frandsen - #100 Lifestyle Design
Jason Van Orden - #223 Thought Leadership
Kevin Blames Internet Business Mastery for Making it Sound Too Easy!
Kevin was in determined mood. On his list of didn't go so well, they were at the top of his negative list too!
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/Kevin-Internet-Business-Mastery-Podcast.mp4
Kevin relented! Jeremy and Jason brought us together. Kevin also got to know another previous two-time guest - Russell Thackeray too. Additionally, for Kevin, he is also forging a business relationship with Dan Wells in their Grow CFO business.
Strengths of The Next 100 Days Podcast
Another review point Kevin makes is that our consistency in producing episodes helps us attract guests. Many of our guests introduce themselves to us through the APPLICATION form on this website! Graham pointed out that many of our guests are ex-corporate, probably running their own businesses and like to have fun. They don't take themselves too seriously!
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/Strengths-of-The-Next-100-Days-Podcast.mp4
But is The Next 100 Days Podcast TOO GENERAL?
Kevin pointed out that we have been a generalist podcast. In this way, has it been both success and failure. Success in that we have brought so many very interesting guests, covering a wide arc of topics. But could we have done better, by being highly focused on one or two markets? We are not niche. If we provide a service for everyone, you are providing a show for no-one.
Kevin made the point that his Grow CFO shows grown quickly because it is focused on a small audience. It is relevant to them. Graham made the point that in the next 100 days, in a business context, topics could be virtually anything.
It's Difficult to Scale a Podcast
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/Kevin-Diffcult-to-Scale-a-Podcast.mp4
The lesson to be learned is be clear about WHY you want to do it and to WHOM will you provide the service to.
Accurate Thinking
Graham made the case that when the podcast was being first thought of, both Kevin and Graham were probably not displaying Accurate Thinking.
http://thenext100days.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/Graham-Accurate-Thinking.mp4
In Renegade Millionaire, Dan Kennedy uses accurate as in "knowing facts you may not want to know".
For Graham, delegation has been a negative. Recently, we used a photo without permission and that cost Kevin and Graham. Graham cited a legal agreement that he probably ought not to have entered, and with better accurate thinking he would have avoided. So, with both staffing issues and contracts, accurate thinking - delving into the facts you mat not want to know, a better outcome would have been possible.
Fail Fast, Fail Forward
Kevin mentions how he has achieved results through people. Especially with his involvement with GrowCFO. Dan Wells and Kevin brought complementary skills. Then they needed mentoring. After that they transformed their website with a person focused on their website.
Graham notes he needs to refresh his website, so he wants to get his website updated. Kevin said Finely Fettled's website is purely being used as a lead generation tool. It is.
