He serves as President of the Bergen County Audubon Society and has been deeply involved in protecting and promoting local natural spaces, including the Celery Farm Natural Area, where he is recognized for his contributions to the preserve. Through his work with the Bergen County Audubon Society, he helps educate the public about the importance of native plants, wildlife, and preserving vital habitat.
