Episode 40 - Why We Do This Hobby with Special Guest Matt McDougall

In this episode, Matt McDougall from Doogs Studio joins the Insanity to talk about his time in the hobby as well as his Doogs Studios 3D Printing company.  Jeff Herne also sits in on the show while Justin goes on his ghost hunt.  The guys first talk about why they do this hobby and how the hobby gives back to them.  Topic 2 gets a little more hectic calling out those who could be considered trophy "whores" in this hobby, this could offend some, but that is the intention.  This is a great show with some great laughs and content.  So take a listen, enjoy, and have some laughs....

Episode 39 - Ignorance, Arrogance, or Stupidity...Or Maybe it's Just all Three with Special Guest Insider Tim Rhine

On this Episode, the Insanity Crew talk to Tim Rhine whose model was the one that was manhandled at the recent PatCon Show.  This discussion adds more detail and insider information regarding the discussion from Episode 38 and the issue of these IPMS judges touching models regardless of what the rules say.  The discussion gets heating, off the rails at times, but stronger heads prevailed....maybe.  The guys then talk about why it's good to display your work on a base and how it can add to your overall presentation.  There are also 2 fun interviews from Armorcon edited into the show.  One with Aleasha Digman (Slay the Gray) and another with our good friend Tim Rothenberger.  Some really fun and cracy outtakes at the end so make sure to stay for them at the end...

Sully Thomason of Sully’s Scale Models visits us on this episode, and we get to know him, his story, and talk about a few of our favorite of his YouTube videos. We also talk about the life of a YouTube content creator. He even reveals what a “brew and a bickie  is. 

Bad Santa and Tuch discover that their YouTube algorithms are now cycling, as they both are being suggested Sully’s videos and Bob Ross’s Joy of Painting 

Our main discussion topic was vignettes and diorama scenes.  What is a diorama?  What is a vignette?  What is the difference?  Does it even matter? 

Boiled down, and it completely makes sense…Frankie has the answer!
