Anthony Johnson Interview | Getting Started In Enduro Racing | WannaBes Mobcast | Podcast Ep: 2
Saison 1 · Épisode 2
jeudi 6 avril 2023 • Durée 01:07:22
Check out our line of enduro, MX, MTB, and ADV helmet specific chin mounts for actions cameras! - https://wannabes.life/
In our second episode of the WannaBes Mobcast we talk to Anthony Johnson, the up and coming EnduroCross racer who is making a name for himself not only on the track but also on social media as well.
Check out Anthony Johnson on Instagram here. https://www.instagram.com/anthonyjohnson_521/
In our first episode we got to hear from Graham Jarvis who we all know is one of the greatest riders of all time. For this episode we decided to go to the other end of the spectrum and learn form someone who is just starting out his enduro racing career. Anthony Johnson is 19 years old and lives in Northern Idaho where he trains to take the podium.
We talked to Anthony about how he got started and what sparked his interest in EnduroCross, his training routine, riding in Idaho, cross training, and enduro techniques that were very insightful for anyone who rides. Among many other interesting things about Anthony, he rides a Sherco 300 which of course we had to know more about that as well as how he sets up his bike. Living in an area where we don't see many Sherco's, we found it very interesting to learn about the bikes form someone who has a lot of seat time on one.
We finished the podcast by talking a bit about how Anthony intends to make a career out of being a professional athlete, not only through the traditional means of sponsorship but also thought the use of social channels and other methods. Lastly we had a few bonus questions that lead to a great story and a good laugh that you'll have to watch the episode to hear about :)

Max Gerston Interview | Enduro Cowboy To Media Commentator | WannaBes Mobcast | Podcast Episode 10

Follow Max Gerston on Instagram here - https://www.instagram.com/maxgerston/?hl=en
In this episode of the WannaBes Mobcast we are interviewing Max Gerston who is a staple in the hard enduro and EnduroCross series here in the United States. You might recognize him by his iconic cowboy hat and mustache combo that he has become famous for in the moto community. Max has an impressive resume of podium finishes and a wealth of knowledge for anyone in the sport. Max Gerston is not just an incredible rider but is also a bit of a media personality himself. In the hard enduro series this season Max is making a shift into media commentary where he reports trail side for major racing events and even jumps into the race to provide some trail footage of the top contenders.
When Max isn't racing EnduroCross or busy making awesome videos about the Hard Enduro series, you can find him at his training facility in Arizona. Thats right, Max is also invested in helping others reach their fullest potential on the backs of their petrol ponies. No matter if you are a new rider or a pro, Max can help you improve your riding skills at his own personal training facility. We had such a great time talking with Max and learning about how he grew into the pro racer, entrepreneur, commentator, and trainer that he is today. We didn't have nearly enough time to get to all of the topic that we wanted to cover so in out next episode we will focus on trining to bring you all of Max's wisdom. Until next time we hope that you enjoy this conversation as much as we did.

or find him on Instagram at - https://www.instagram.com/cudby/
Simon Cudby is a pro moto photographer. He has been for much of his career. And he's damn good at it too, just go look if you're curious. But in a world dominated by "authentic" content (you know "blair witch quality cell phone clips) that are popular for maybe 5 minutes on a social media feed, does pro photography still have a place in the sport? We chat through this existential question and a whole lot else (like moto history, vlogging, travel photography, and life philosophy) in our interview with Simon.

Johnathan Weisman Interview | Getting YOUR Enduro Suspension Just Right | WannaBes Mobcast | Podcast Ep: 8
Saison 1 · Épisode 8
mercredi 11 mai 2022 • Durée 01:24:28
Check out our line of moto helmet chin mounts for action cameras here - https://wannabes.life
Check out Johnny Weisman on Instagram here - https://www.instagram.com/therideshopaz/
Johnathan Weisman is a legend of a suspension mechanic, handling most of the suspension work for some of the top Sherco Factory riders, including greats like Destry Abbott, Cody Webb, and Louse Forsley (who all happen to have also been our Mobcast guests recently, I'm sure that's just a coincidence). Because of his experience running race level enduro suspension for so many of the riders we're so impressed with, we figured Johnny would be the ideal person to come talk to you all about how you can maximize your own suspension outcomes. We were not disappointed! Johnny pretty much blew our minds, ok maybe not literally, but he did really impress us with his approach, ideas, and intuition when it came down to how suspension actually works.
Most people know there are springs (or air), some oil, and some little clickers that make things different. But how it all comes together into a comprehensive "theory of suspension" is as black box as, well real black boxes. Few people, us included, have any real sense for what happens inside those shiny canisters, it's probably magic right?
Talking with Johnny was so eye opening because he demystified how it all works together, how your riding style impacts your choices, and he tells us where to start when thinking about suspension tuning for the first time. Anyway, before we spoil it all, just go listen for yourselves, you will not be disappointed.
We do need to quickly thank you for bearing with our audio issues on this episode. We had some technical difficulties, basically it was a shitshow of poor podcast operations (all on us, no fault of Johnny). We're getting it dialed, listen to this one because it's worth it, we'll have our act together next time, we promise.

As a factory rider for fourteen years for the Monster Energy Kawasaki team, Destry won ten major championships as well as seven gold medals at the famous International Six Days Enduro (ISDE). Destry also won five AMA National Hare & Hound Championships and has competed in enduro cross in the X-Games. Destry has had an incredible life not only as a multigenerational off road racer but also as a leukemia survivor, which you can learn more about in the featured film Strong on Amazon.
Strong is a must see movie about Destry's battle with cancer and will really make you appreciate his upbeat attitude and constant positive outlook on life.

We first interviewed Cooper a few months back and you can see that episode here.
Destry now runs the DA8 Training school where he works with pro racers and moto enthusiasts to help them improve their riding abilities. Destry has a wealth of knowledge and is an amazing instructor. We could have talked with Destry for hours and probably not even scratched the surface of the wisdom that he could share with us. We will have to do another podcast in the future where we talk more about techniques and training for everyone's riding benefit.
Until then you can check out the DA8 Training website here: https://www.da8training.com

We didn't get a chance to ask all of the questions that we wanted so we will have to do a part two podcast to finish the conversation.
