| Why the Bond Market May Be the Stock Market's Biggest Risk | 25 Sep 2026 | 00:11:54 | |
With US 10-Year Treasury yields climbing this week to the highest level since 2007, the bond market may be the biggest risk to further equity gains, says Tony Pasquariello, global head of hedge fund coverage in Goldman Sachs FICC and Equities. Shorting bonds could be a useful
hedge for stock investments, he says on The Markets podcast. S&P 500 earnings growth, meanwhile, has been “mind-bending,” helping to keep valuations from becoming stretched, Pasquariello says. However, the increase in earnings may begin to taper off, and US stock returns may slow from their double-digit annual pace. He also sees opportunities in Japan’s TOPIX, as the country’s equity market gets a boost from shareholder reforms and government spending on defense and industrialization.

| The Opportunities for Investors amid Higher-for-Longer Interest Rates | 18 Sep 2026 | 00:10:54 | |
The Federal Reserve signaled this week that interest rates could be higher for longer, which may pose a challenge for the broader equity market if tighter policy leads to less consumption, says Anshul Sehgal, global co-head of Fixed Income, Currency and Commodities. However, companies that specialize in computing and data centers could be an opportunity for investors amid elevated interest rates. On The Markets podcast, Sehgal also discusses his take on the latest Federal Open Market Committee meeting and his outlook for longer-term bond yields.

| What a Fed Rate Hike Could Mean for US Stocks | 11 Sep 2026 | 00:11:28 | |
Investors are pricing in a higher likelihood that the Federal Reserve will hike rates after core CPI inflation rose in August more than economists had estimated. However, a rate hike may not keep the US stock market from climbing higher, says Jonathan Shugar, head of Cross Asset Sales in Goldman Sachs FICC and Equities, on The Markets podcast. Companies reported strong earnings growth in the second quarter, and valuations near the 10-year average are not stretched, he explains. Shugar also discusses why a Fed hike may not restrain investment in artificial intelligence, the risks in longer-term interest rates, and the potential opportunity for investors in consumer experience stocks.

| Why Gold Is Expected to Rise to Record Highs | 04 Sep 2026 | 00:11:44 | |
Gold set a record high in January, but uncertainty about US interest rates and disruption from the Iran war have led to an “elongated pause” in the rally, according to Tony Kim, global head of Metals Trading in Goldman Sachs FICC and Equities. Ultimately, Kim expects strong central bank demand for the yellow metal to help drive gold to new highs, he says on The Markets podcast. Kim also discusses whether fiscal sustainability concerns could spur a rotation into gold, how reduced investment demand from Asia is impacting gold markets, and why silver has been volatile in 2026.

| What Is the Outlook for Diesel and Gasoline Supplies? | 28 Aug 2026 | 00:08:18 | |
Energy markets have been surprisingly resilient amid the disruption to shipping through the Strait of Hormuz. However, there are few signs of relief in markets for refined products such as diesel, gasoline, and jet fuel, says Nitin Jindal, head of Global Commodities in Goldman Sachs FICC and Equities, on The Markets podcast. Jindal also discusses China’s remarkable adjustment to the disruption in energy supplies and the outlook for natural gas prices in Europe as winter approaches.

| Why US Equity Returns Are Broadening Beyond AI Stocks | 21 Aug 2026 | 00:12:33 | |
While artificial intelligence (AI) has been a key driver of US stocks, a wider range of sectors is starting to power the S&P 500, says Shawn Tuteja, head of ETF and Custom Basket Volatility Trading in Goldman Sachs FICC and Equities, on The Markets podcast. Tuteja also discusses the robust strength in earnings across 9 of 11 sectors in the S&P 500, elevated volatility among AI-related themes, and the interplay between oil prices, longer-maturity bond yields, and Federal Reserve policy.

| How Inflation and Fiscal Policy Are Driving US Treasury Markets | 14 Aug 2026 | 00:11:49 | |
With a month to go until the Federal Reserve’s next rate decision, inflation is increasingly in focus for the US bond market, says Mike Mitchell, head of US Treasury and Inflation Trading in Goldman Sachs Global Banking & Markets. He explains why recent inflation data suggests the Fed could continue to hold rates steady in September, and how Treasury market supply, corporate credit issuance, and fiscal policy concerns are keeping pressure on longer-maturity Treasuries.

| Are Hedge Funds Still Bullish on AI Stocks? | 24 Jul 2026 | 00:11:43 | |
Tech stocks been buffeted by a reversal of momentum in US equities, but hedge funds are still fundamentally bullish on AI stocks, according to Vincent Lin, co-head of Prime Insights and Analytics in Global Banking & Markets. In this conversation with Chris Hussey, he explains why the greatest cumulative selling of tech stocks in the history of his data set looks more like a “healthy reset” amid crowded trades and high volatility rather than a loss of conviction in the AI trade.
